BIA is a popular rapper in the current landscape, but it feels she does not get the right amount of credit. Her first big hit “WHOLE LOTTA MONEY,” put her on the map in 2021, but the Massachusetts product has been in the game since 2016. But, that song did slow down her passion for the music. In 2022, she broke through with another smasher, “LONDON.” That saw her and J. Cole drop some entertaining verses, with Jermaine flexing his British accent.
In 2023, BIA is keeping up her momentum too. She did so with her second project, REALLY HER. “LONDON” landed on it but also featured songs like “FALLBACK,” for example. It is a song that features a great flow and cadence from BIA, as well as solid writing. “That’s just the principle, baby, I’m takin’ b*****s to class / I’m startin’ to feel like the principal, baby (Yeah, yeah), I wouldn’t give you a pass.”
The song just got the music video treatment about a day ago. BIA is in a Las Vegas casino with her girlfriends gambling and living the life. However, around the 1:00 mark, someone appears for a brief moment to play some games. It is none other than Travis Scott. It may come as a surprise to see them collaborate, but they do have a song with Lil Blessin called “Likka Sto 2.” Maybe, this could mean that one of them lands on a track of their own.
What are your initial thoughts on this music video for BIA’s “FALLBACK?” Is this the best song from her 2023 project, REALLY HER? Do you prefer the new INTL DELUXE, or the original version? Will Travis Scott appear in a BIA track down the line, and would be down to hear them on a track together? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Today, Drake came through with a new music video for his Scary Hours 3 track, “You Broke My Heart.” He recruited country star Morgan Wallen to co-star in the beginning of the video, but unfortunately, things didn’t end up working out for them. They’re seen chatting about a lost lover over drinks, ultimately deciding that the split was for the best. When they reach the conclusion that they should go and see who else is out there, however, they meet a pretty dramatic fate.
Wallen is seen getting into the passenger seat of Drake’s car, both of them looking eager to hit the town. As they pull away, the camera pans to two women, who hit a button to detonate the car. The destructive duo takes over the video from there, nonchalantly rhyming along with the track as chaos erupts behind them.
This isn’t the only fun music video fans have gotten from Drake as of late, however. Following the release of For All The Dogs, the Canadian hitmaker joined J. Cole for an action-packed “First Person Shooter” music video, which saw Drake performing on top of the Scotiabank Arena. He also enlisted Lyrical Lemonade’s Cole Bennett to direct his dreamy “Another Late Night” video with Lil Yachty, which he dropped in October.
Of course, he also kicked things off with a music video for “8AM In Charlotte,” which features an appearance from his six-year-old son, Adonis. Overall, his latest offering is yet another memorable video, especially considering Morgan Wallen’s appearance. The two of them have gone head to head in the charts in recent months, and fans are loving their alliance. What do you think of Drake’s new “You Broke My Heart” music video? What about Drake recruiting Morgan Wallen for the video? What’s your favorite For All The Dogs video so far? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
Offset isn’t done with his new album Set It Off yet. The project dropped back in October to moderate critical success and even more commercial success. In its first week alone the project sold more than 70k copies which was good enough for a top 5 debut on the Billboard 200. The album also spawned a trio of Hot 100 hits in “JEALOUSY” with Cardi B, “SAY MY GRACE” with Travis Scott, and “WORTH IT” with Don Toliver. All of those tracks and three others from the album have received music videos already and yet another one dropped earlier today.
The 7th music video from SET IT OFF is for the album’s third-to-last track “BLAME IT ON SET.” In the music video, Offset relatably suffers through a boring 9-to-5 job with an annoying boss. He spends time watching the clock and counting the seconds as they go by before finally deciding to rebel. He spits confident bars amid a roster of fabulously dressed co-workers across the four-and-a-half-minute visual. Numerous fans took to the comments to praise the song, the video, and the rapper himself for his impressive work ethic. Check out the full video and fan reactions to it below.
Over the weekend, Offset hosted his second annual Toyz 4 The Nawf Christmas toy drive. The event was bigger and better in its second year also helping families connect to affordable internet while also providing them with toys and clothes for the holiday season. He teamed up with the Ann Cephus Family Fund for the event once again and provided great holiday gifts to families throughout the Atlanta area.
The new music video comes as many fans are speculating about Offset’s status with wife Cardi B. She actually appears on his new album twice and hyped it up as Grammy worthy in the lead-up to its release. But when fans discovered the pair had unfollowed each other on Instagram it opened up a floodgate of speculation. Cardi didn’t help that speculation when she recently took to social media to say that she was focusing on herself for a little while. Many fans interpreted that as a hint that their relationship speculation was justified. What do you think of the newly released music video for “BLAME IT ON SET?” Let us know in the comment section below.
Kodak Black is one of the most interesting characters in rap today. Not only for his oddball personality but also for some of the material he puts out. The Florida native has been active yet again this year with two full-length projects to his name. Firstly, he put out Pistolz & Pearlz back on May 26. That album ran over an hour and six minutes with a 21-song tracklist. It was his last project under the umbrella of Atlantic Records. It would only take him another five and a half months before his presumedly last tape of 2023.
Three singles would promote Kodak’s more personal record When I Was Dead. One of those was a song called “2’CY.” It was a melodic cut that featured the rapper’s warbly flow. The production had a hint of Jersey club inspiration and can be seen as more of a softer cut. This is a reason why the reactions to these visuals for the single are putting the creative inspiration of Black in question.
Watch Kodak Black’s Haunting Music Video For “2’CY”
The video features a young boy who stumbles across a haunted house, with a little girl feasting on a dead body and Kodak’s head rapping in a fridge. The vibes clashed oddly and fans were not feeling it. XXL gathered some reactions to the imagery, with one saying, “This respectfully is the [worst] song yak ever made.” Another goes, “Why everybody making headless videos?? What’s the message n****?” Kodak has not responded to the reactions and he most likely will not. This may take the cake for the weirdest music video of the year.
What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new music video for “2’CY” by Kodak Black from When I Was Dead? Is this the best track from this album, why or why not? Do you think Kodak missed the mark on the visuals, especially considering the tone of the song? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. The release of SET IT OFF is paying dividends for Migos affiliate, Offset. After dropping his solo debut FATHER OF 4 four years ago, a lot of fans were clamoring for more individual material. The supporters of Offset certainly got to feast. He did a great job with the rollout for the project. While he did have visuals out for the lead single, “JEALOUSY,” with his partner in crime, Cardi B, it was another track that took the hype to a thousand.
“FAN” had tremendous visuals that made a nod to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video. Additionally, he gave his streaming pal, Kai Cenat, an alley-oop by including him too. Furthermore, the message of the song was nice as well. It preached removing those toxic people from your life. Then, the cherry on top of the sundae was all of the teasing. Offset’s listening party revealed some tracks with Travis Scott and Don Toliver. With everything mentioned, he really went all out.
Watch The Music Video For “DON’T YOU LIE” By Offset
He is continuing the hype with another new set of shots. This time it is for the deeper cut, “DON’T YOU LIE.” In it, Offset is showing off his impressive collection of cars. Those include everything from Mercedes-Benz Maybach models, some Dodge Challengers, as well as a Ram TRX. He rides around in that tan beast of a truck throughout the video. Additionally, he performs the song in a gorgeous house. This is the sixth music video to drop with tracks like “ON THE RIVER” and “SAY MY GRACE” getting similar treatment.
What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new music video for “DON’T YOU LIE” from SET IT OFF by Offset? Is this the best set of visuals for a track from this album? Drake’s For All The Dogs has been a controversial release once again. That was especially true at the initial release, but it seems the tone is changing. More and more listeners are starting to see what Drizzy was going for on this record. So much so in fact, that the album recently surpassed one million units sold in the United States. All of the success is attributed to the amount of hits across the tracklist. You have the obvious ones like “Slime You Out,” “First Person Shooter,” “IDGAF,” and “8am in Charlotte.”
Additionally, Drake dropped the deluxe version, For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition. That too had an effect on the performance. Of, course, music videos are a natural byproduct of a new album or single, and Drake wanted to bring another one out. The first one was “8am in Charlotte” which featured some cameos of his son Adonis.
Watch The Music Video For “Polar Opposites” By Drake
We also received ones for “Another Late Night,” and “First Person Shooter.” Now, Drake is back with one for the closing R&B cut, “Polar Opposites.” The visuals are moody and somber, sort of like the song. It features the Canadian rapper singing on a balcony overlooking the gorgeous night sky. There are also shots of him and some friends playing billiards while wearing red leather jackets.
What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new music video for Drake’s “Polar Opposites” from For All The Dogs? Is this the best song from the album? Where does this rank amongst his R&B cuts throughout his career? Does he make the best visuals for his songs? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Earlier this month, Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz released their highly anticipated collab album Welcome 2 Collegrove. The project saw the pair officially collaborating on an album together for the first time and they delivered 21 tracks and nearly an entire hour of material. The project is also sporting some impressive features with 21 Savage, Usher, Benny The Butcher, Fabolous, Vory, Rick Ross, and Marsha Ambrosius all appearing.
Last week, the duo released the visual for one of those high-profile collaborations. They shared the music video for “Transparency” with Usher which has racked up more than 600k views in just a few days. But now they’re back with yet another video for a high-profile collaboration from the project. This time it’s the song “Oprah & Gayle” which features an appearance from Griselda rapper Benny The Butcher. In the stark black and white video the trio each take viewers through their unique worlds. Check out the entire new music video below.
Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, and Benny The Butcher Drop New Video
Welcome 2 ColleGrove is off to a strong start with all of its tracks racking up hundreds of thousands of streams. Some of the singles are already reaching into the millions with “Presha” in particular sitting at over 7 million streams on Spotify. Songs like “Big Diamonds” with 21 Savage and “Transparency” with Usher have also crossed the million stream mark since the album dropped earlier this month.
The extent of collaborators recruited for the album even goes beyond the artists it features. The pair recruited 50 Cent for a memorable performance as the narrator in a trailer for the album that dropped in the lead-up to the project’s release. 50 also made waves earlier this year after he collaborated with Nas for the first time in two decades on a track from his album Magic 2. What do you think of 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne’s new music video? Who do you think has the best verse of the three artists on the song? Let us know in the comment section below.
“taking it back to 09 baby” is what Kid Cudi tweeted before dropping his new music video. It’s for the track “ILL WHAT I BLEED” which originally dropped on Soundcloud last month. Now, he’s finally releasing the song onto streaming and celebrating with an accompanying music video. Cudi insists that this isn’t the second single from his upcoming album INSANO, just something from the album to tide fans over.
In the video itself, Cudi takes an impromptu trip around Seoul, South Korea. he makes stops at clothing stores, food markets, and just on any random street corner dancing and rapping along to the track. It’s a video that’s effortlessly fun and cool which fans were quick to point out in the comments. “Kid cudi radiates cool older brother energy,” and “Glad to see Cudi in a better place and just having fun with everything. You can really tell as of lately, much love,” two of the top comments read. The video has only been out for a few hours and already racked up more than 18k views. Check out the entire video below.
Kid Cudi’s new album INSANO was supposed to come out earlier this year. but it’s been delayed. Thankfully, he’s done a pretty good job at keeping fans engaged with the process sharing new music and info about the project. A few weeks ago he dropped that the final tracklist was expected to span more than 40 tracks.
The even bigger revelation came when Cudi teased the artists that will be making appearances on the project. Travis Scott, A$AP Rocky, Young Thug, Pusha T, and Lil Yachty, are just some of the names he announced are due to appear on INSANO. The album doesn’t yet have an official release date though. What do you think of Kid Cudi’s new song and accompanying music video? Let us know in the comment section below.
City Girls’ long-awaited studio album RAW is finally here, and of course, it’s full of party bangers for the club. After all, could we really expect anything less form JT and Yung Miami, who’ve been putting out energetic and above all fun tracks for years now? Moreover, one of the new project’s instant highlights is the track “Flashy” with Kim Petras. Its title is quite fitting, as its infectious bounce, shimmery synth keys, flange-heavy guitars, and luxurious lyrics give off sheer opulence. It seems like this trio realized how much potential this song has, because they just dropped a new music video for it.
Furthermore, the visual sees City Girls and Kim Petras soar in a pink private through the skies. In addition, they hit up a beachy photoshoot, pick out some new designer clothes to wear, and visit a disco-ball-lit disco. Overall, it’s exactly the kind of crisp and colorful visuals that “Flashy” sonically evokes. Naturally, the title of the track and MV is a bit of a dead giveaway, but it doesn’t make the visual any less engaging to watch. With that in mind, hopefully this isn’t the only music video to come out of this rollout or album.
City Girls’ “Flashy” Music Video With Kim Petras: Watch
Meanwhile, it had been a long time since we saw the City Girls launch a lot of new music together. Sure, JT and Yung Miami kept quite busy with remixes, singles, and extracurricular endeavors, but there’s nothing quite like a dynamic duo. What’s more is that there were so many teases leading up to this new LP, even as the date got closer and closer. For example, they played a medley of new material at the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards.
On that note, what were your other favorite songs or underrated highlights that made the tracklist on RAW? Did you like this “Flashy” music video or was it not flashy enough? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on City Girls and Kim Petras.
For decades, music videos have contributed to the overall listening experience of songs and albums. Artists often use them as an effective medium to make strong statements, pass important messages, or explicitly express themselves. However, these music videos sometimes cross the thresholds of what is deemed fit for television consumption and ultimately end up banned. Over the years, upon their release, several music videos have sparked controversy. Some reasons for their bans include explicit sexual content, obscenity, violence, or disturbing messages. From Madonna’s “Justify My Love” to Rihanna’s “S&M,” here are seven such music videos that have been deemed unfit for television.
Duran Duran – “Girls On Film” (1981)
The controversial music video for Duran Duran’s third single was directed by Godley & Creme. The uncensored version of the “Girls on Film” music video contained provocative imagery. It featured scenes of scantily clad women engaging in activities, often of a sexual nature, including mud wrestling and pillow fighting. Upon its release, the video faced heavy controversy and was subsequently banned. Evidently, the original version of the video was considered too risqué for mainstream television. Following the ban, Duran Duran submitted a new and heavily edited video version for airplay.
Nine Inch Nails – “Closer” (1994)
The “Closer” music video is widely regarded as one of Nine Inch Nails’ most iconic and controversial visuals. It is characterized by its dark and provocative visual style. In addition, the video combines surreal and disturbing imagery with industrial and gothic aesthetics, exploring themes of mortality, sexuality, and religion. As a result, although it complements the song’s themes, the music video is quite unsettling. The music video for “Closer” is certainly one of the most iconic banned music videos out there. Due to its explicit content and provocative imagery, it stirred up more than enough controversy after it dropped in 1994.
Upon its release, the “Blurred Lines” music video faced widespread criticism for its objectification of women. The video was perceived as promoting a disrespectful, non-consensual, and misogynistic message. Additionally, many argued that the song’s NSFW lyrics promoted rape culture. YouTube took down the uncensored version of the video soon after it was uploaded. The censored video featuring the models in clothes stayed up on the platform. Despite the controversy, or perhaps partially due to it, “Blurred Lines” became a massive commercial success.
Rihanna – “S&M” (2011)
Rihanna’s music video for “S&M,” like many other banned music videos, was wildly popular when it premiered in 2011. The video presents a visually striking world where Rihanna embraces her sexuality while critiquing the media’s obsession with scandal. It is characterized by bold colors, avant-garde fashion, and provocative imagery. Furthermore, the video is filled with sexual innuendos and contains sadomasochistic imagery. Soon after its premiere, the music video for “S&M” was banned in 11 countries. Despite the backlash it received, the video’s bold style significantly contributed to the singer’s image as an artist.
M.I.A. – “Born Free” (2010)
The “Born Free” music video is a highly controversial and provocative piece directed by Roman Gavras. It explores themes of violence, discrimination, and persecution. The video was shot as a nine-minute short film featuring graphic content, including disturbing and violent images. While the video was intended to make a powerful statement against the brutality faced by marginalized groups, it was met with much criticism. “Born Free” is one of several music videos banned in multiple countries. It was also removed from YouTube within its first 24 hours of being on the platform.
Kanye West is one of the most controversial artists around. However, when he dropped the iconic music video for “Monster” in 2010, the dark themes it contained still came as a shock to many. Upon its release, the horror-themed video proved too much to handle for many viewers. Subsequently, it was banned from YouTube, and West took it off his YouTube channel entirely soon after. Nicki Minaj’s verse on the song and appearance in the music video received widespread praise, but it was not enough to save the video.
Madonna – “Justify My Love” (1990)
Throughout her career, the Queen of Pop, Madonna, has been closely affiliated with controversy, and the singer embraces it wholly. The music video for “Justify My Love” was so provocative that MTV outrightly refused to broadcast it on the day it was set to premiere. Featuring passionate and intimate sensual scenes shot in black and white, the video explores themes of sexuality and desire. Despite all the flack she received for making such a video, Madonna defended it, calling it a celebration of sex. MTV banned it from being broadcast on their channel, but “Justify My Love” was shown successfully on other cable networks. Over the years, it has come to be regarded as one of Madonna’s most iconic music videos.
