Andre 3000 Finally Uses His Voice On Massive 26-Minute Single, But It’s Not What You Think

Andre 3000 is back with a new song, and it’s more from the ambient, spiritual jazz journey that he’s been on artistically in recent years. It’s titled “Something Is Happening And I May Not Fully Understand But I’m Happy To Stand For The Understanding,” it’s an enveloping and engrossing 26-minute behemoth, and it finally features his vocals… Kind of. If you were hoping for a fresh new 3 Stacks verse in 2024, we’re sorry to say that your wishes were not granted this time around. Instead, at around the 22-minute mark of the song, his reversed jazz scats come in. At least it’s nice to hear the Atlanta native speak on wax for the first time since “SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS,” albeit via warped gibberish.

Nevertheless, none of this changes how compelling and hypnotizing “Something Is Happening” is throughout its runtime if you appreciate this kind of music. For those unaware, André 3000’s latest song is part of the TRANSA compilation project by Red Hot Org, a 46-track odyssey about transgender awareness. It will release in full on November 22 and features other artists like Sade, Sam Smith, and Julien Baker. As for this track from the “punk jazz” artist, it sounds quite distinct from New Blue Sun despite some overlapping similarities.

Andre 3000’s “Something Is Happening And I May Not Fully Understand But I’m Happy To Stand For The Understanding”: Listen

“It’s kind of funny,” André 3000 previously said of the backlash to his lack of rapping per UPROXX. “The backlash is actually not from the rap community, or the jazz and spiritual jazz community. There’s actually more support, surprising support, from both sides. I think it’s more [OutKast] fans, which I understand. I always try to put myself in their shoes. If my favorite rapper said, ‘I’m not rapping’ and I like it, I like it. But if I don’t, I move on. I think some people take it as blasphemy or something.”

Meanwhile, André 3000 fans must resort to their imagination if they want new hip-hop verses from him. He recently revealed that he wrote several diss tracks that never came out, which is a holy grail considering that he’s never been in a beef. Regardless, maybe next time the vocals will be played normally instead of in reverse, but we’re not counting on them to spit a hot 16 anytime soon.

Summer Walker Pours Her Heart Out On Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update: Stream

As October comes to a close, our latest R&B Season playlist update rounded up the best of the best genre-related cuts that dropped this week to give you some new jams for the spooky season. First off, Summer Walker made her return with her new single “Heart Of A Woman,” which contains an unsurprisingly soulful and soothing vocal performance. A relationship is on the rocks here lyrically, and the instrumental highlight here is a deliciously woozy synth line that falls really well in the background. Elsewhere, stark drums and watery synth pads flesh the cut out to create a pretty intoxicating atmosphere.

Keeping those sultry R&B vibes up is the latest record from Shanuka, “Wicked” with Wakai. This is even more of a slow-burner, as the choppy but resonant bass tone gives the song a languid but wholly hypnotizing feel that’s bolstered by dreamy synths and some percussive embellishments. There’s also a nasal rap verse on here that fits the cut’s smoky vibe like a glove, amping up the lust and addictive desire that the lyrics display. In other words, it’s a great late night drive track.

HNHH R&B Season Playlist: Stream

As for more tender offerings on R&B Season this week, Fridayy came through with the lush and passionate single “Back To You.” Thanks to some gorgeous background vocals, light piano keys, his trademark deep voice, and some varied drums on the song, this dramatizes an infatuation with a lot of personality and steadily building melodies. If you’re looking for something a bit more akin to a hip-hop beat, then perhaps Roy Woods’ latest record “Hold Still” will be right up your alley. But don’t think that he doesn’t still come through with some hazy vocal harmonies and melodic dominance.

Finally, we wanted to give a shoutout to AUDRÉ’s new song “U on U” for its striking but minimal guitar lines that do a lot with a little. They anchor the rest of the single’s elements thanks to their presence in the mix, but the highlight here is still her vocal performance. Let us know what your favorite R&B Season playlist pick was this week, as well as what else we missed, down in the comments section below. Check the playlist out above and, as always, stick around on HNHH for more amazing music releases around the clock.

Lizzo Reveals Daring Halloween Costume Clapping Back At “South Park” Ozempic Jokes

Lizzo is getting ready to have a good time during Halloween, and she took jokes made at her expense as fuel for a creative costume. Moreover, she recently took to Instagram with various photo dumps of her self-proclaimed “LizzOzempic” costume, which plays off of a recent South Park parody that presented her and her music as an alternative to the weight loss medication. In the episode, the joke is that the “medication” would make users “not give a f**k” about their weight. The Detroit native is very happy to do so, and to continue to advocate for body positivity and confident self-worth.

“That’s crazy!” Lizzo had said while reacting to the South Park skit online. “I just feel like, damn, I’m really that b***h. I’m really that b***h! I really showed the world how to love yourself and not give a f**k to the point where these… men in Colorado know who the f**k I am and put it on their cartoon that’s been around for 25 years. I’m really that b***h and I showed y’all how not to give a f**k and I’ma keep on showing you how not to give a f**k. Oh, oh, oh, oh, Lizzo, b***h!” she sang at the end of her TikTok video.

Lizzo’s “LizzOzempic” Costume

If you’re curious, you can check out more of Lizzo’s posts showing off her “LizzOzempic” costume by clicking the “Via” link down below. This cheeky costume comes as she recently gave a pretty light response to allegations that she’s using Ozempic on her fitness and weight loss journey. In fact, the 36-year-old seems very pleased with them in a certain sense, as they let her know that her hard work is paying off. If exercise prompts those rumors, then she’s happy to keep pumping iron and loving herself with no need for medication.

Elsewhere, another big story around Lizzo these days surrounds the allegations against her about her supposed creation of a hostile work environment. When asked about the matter at Fortune‘s “Most Powerful Women” event, she declined to elaborate on it and instead called to attention the event’s focus on fostering strong female leaders and forces. As for the allegations themselves, a court of law has yet to make heads or tails of the situation in its entirety.

Amber Rose Shades Beyonce For Kamala Harris Endorsement Speech

Amber Rose is firmly on Donald Trump’s team for this upcoming election between the convicted former president and Vice President Kamala Harris. At the Republican National Convention earlier this year, she gave a speech about the reasons why she stands behind No. 45 and why she opposed the Democratic Party’s candidate. But when the model heard Beyonce speak at a Texas rally in Houston, she couldn’t help but get some deja vu. “She wanna be me so bad. Literally took my whole speech,” she claimed in an Instagram comments section about the superstar’s remarks. Seemingly, it’s over their comments on motherhood.

“We are at the precipice of an incredible shift, the brink of history,” Beyoncé expressed. “I’m not here as a celebrity, I’m not here as a politician. I’m here as a mother. A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in.” Here’s an excerpt of Amber Rose’s RNC speech: “Most importantly, I’m a mother. My whole world revolves around providing for my children, keeping them safe, and giving them an opportunity for a better life. That’s something that unites all American parents. Whether we’re Republicans, Democrats, conservatives, or liberals, we all want a better country for our children.”

Amber Rose Reacts To Beyonce’s Kamala Harris Endorsement

Elsewhere, both celebrities are busy dealing with rumors, speculation, and drama surrounding their names. In the case of Amber Rose, she recently addressed the viral fight that she engaged in with Joseline Hernandez on the College Hill: Celebrity Edition reality television series from BET. Rose claimed that Hernandez talked smack about her, but also stated that she never wanted to fight and tried to stay quiet about the whole thing. Finally, she wished Hernandez and her family the best.

On the other hand, Beyoncé and Jay-Z allegedly reached out to Jason Lee for his supposed comments on their friendship with Diddy amid the Bad Boy mogul’s scandal. He doesn’t understand why they supposedly got into contact when his supposed remarks on the matter didn’t even implicate them significantly in his eyes. At press time, the couple hasn’t publicly addressed all the speculative allegations surrounding them and Sean Combs. Instead, they’d rather endorse Kamala Harris for the United States presidency.

SZA, Keke Palmer & Katt Williams Star In New “One Of Them Days” Trailer

One Of Them Days is scheduled to release on January 24, and we just got a new trailer for the comedy film that shows how zany it could turn out. For those unaware, the film stars SZA and Keke Palmer and revolves around their characters’ quest to improve their financial situation and deal with all the hassles of being roommates. Additional performances come courtesy of Katt Williams, Maude Apatow, Janelle James, and more as oddball personalities that the main duo comes across. Also, Issa Rae produced this flick, so there are a lot of reasons to be excited. It looks pretty funny, with a style that seems ripped right out of the 2000s era of blockbuster gut-busters.

With all these personalities on-screen, you can imagine that they all had a lot of fun on set as they got to know each other and collaborate. But perhaps some colleagues got closer in ways that they didn’t expect. If you hadn’t already heard, Harper’s BAZAAR recently published an interview between Kendrick Lamar and SZA that’s generating a lot of conversation right now. During it, she revealed a curious anecdote about working with Katt Williams.

SZA & Keke Palmer’s One Of Them Days: Watch The Trailer

“We shot a movie last night,” SZA expressed. “I’ve never shot a movie before, so I was freaking out. It’s a lot of being scared to be myself, I’m either gonna pretend it never happened or not show up to the premiere. I met Katt Williams [on set]. He told me I was mentally ill, like, as a compliment. He was like, ‘Sa, I believe you might have some mental—’ And I was like, ‘Illness?’ And he was like, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘Oh, welcome.’”

Let us know down in the comments section down below if you’re looking forward to One Of Them Days and what you thought about the trailer. It will probably be very fun to see SZA and Keke Palmer bounce off of each other on the big screen. At the very least, it’s a nice change of pace from the busy career moves and salacious gossip stories that they face every now and then. Maybe this inspires the TDE artist in particular to act more!

Liam Payne Allegedly Jumped From Balcony According To Police Statement

More alleged details continue to emerge concerning the tragic death of Liam Payne, the former One Direction singer who passed at a hotel in Argentina yesterday (Wednesday, October 17). According to a police statement issued to the Associated Press alleges that he “had jumped from the balcony of his room.” In addition, it details how officials quickly arrived at the hotel after an emergency call at around 5PM local time. The call concerned an “aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol,” per the statement. In a 911 call reportedly obtained by AP, the hotel’s manager remarks that they hosted “a guest who is overwhelmed with drugs and alcohol. […] He’s destroying the entire room and, well, we need you to send someone, please.”

Just one hour before Liam Payne’s death, he had posted an update on his since-deleted Snapchat Story with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy. He said that he was having a “lovely day” and was looking forward to their plans to go horseback-riding and play polo. Cassidy joked about them sleeping in until 1PM local time, and the singer cheekily pushed back on the notion that they were “losers.” “Happy I got some time away,” he captioned a picture of a scenic vista at the hotel.

Along with Liam Payne’s enduring legacy as a pop sensation, he also transitioned into more hip-hop and R&B-inspired sounds in his solo career. Surely the near future will hold more developments concerning this heartbreaking loss.
Rest In Peace Liam Payne.

Travis Barker’s Son Addresses His Alleged Baby Oil-Themed Party Amid Diddy Scandal

Landon Barker has responded to backlash for baby oil bottles at his birthday celebration at a club amid the Diddy scandal over the substance’s alleged nefarious uses in that case. He clarified that this was not his event and that he didn’t approve of having those bottles sent out to him. “I’d like to come on here and apologize and address the fact that people are saying I had this whole themed birthday party,” Travis Barker’s son began his social media address. “First off, I have not had a birthday party. My birthday party is next week. Now, what exactly happened was we all went to Nobu for my birthday. Me and my family and my friends. After Nobu, me and my friends wanted to go celebrate, so my friend contacted a club promoter.

“The club promoter then said, ‘Hey, this guy’s having a birthday party tonight. Do you guys want to come to this party?’ He said he’d give us a table and a bottle, make sure we’re all good to go,” Landon Barker continued. “So we’re like, ‘Okay, it’s my 21st, let’s all go out and do something.’ So we all arrive to this club, just me and all my friends. We go to the table. Everybody’s saying ‘Why didn’t you leave right away?’ And that was because I didn’t know what was going on right away. It was a dark environment and all I could really see was another table having flashing bottles being brought out. The bottles had flashing lights underneath them, so I wasn’t able to distinguish what they were.

Landon Barker Addresses Baby Oil Speculation

“I’m just thinking they’re bringing out tequila with the bottles,” Landon Barker continued. “But I have no idea what’s going on at this point. And then they bring bottles out to our table, and that’s when I visibly noticed that they had light-up baby oil. I didn’t pick up the bottle once and I did not condone that. I just went to a club to celebrate my birthday and ended up in a bad situation.” “My apologies go out to everyone I hurt. This wasn’t my idea and I never wanted that to happen,” he added.

“Another thing that really keeps frustrating me is that people think that I curated for everybody to wear all white,” Landon Barker remarked in another video. “This is what was worn on my birthday,” he expressed while showing an image of the event, for which multiple individuals did not wear all white. “Formal attire is a white top and black pants for most people. It was like a fancy dinner. People just took their jackets off.”

Rod Wave Threatens Chris Sails After Spreading Rumors About Wave’s Alleged New Flame

Off the release of Rod Wave’s new album Last Lap, a lot of fans have questions about his song topics and their relation to his real life… Just don’t make too many assumptions about it. That’s what popular YouTuber Chris Sails learned when he took to social media to claim that Wave and his child’s mother are going through a rough patch right now. Then, Sails questioned why the rapper and singer keeps making sad songs, presumably about this topic, when he allegedly has a new girlfriend. The YouTuber did not offer any confirmation of this, though, so these are still just social media rumors on the gossip train at the end of the day.

Regardless, Rod Wave eventually caught wind of this, and he was understandably not pleased. “Aye Chris sail when we catch u we gone beat tf out u boyyyyy for da f**k of it,” he tweeted. “lol jk,” the “25” artist followed up. Soon after, Chris Sails returned to TikTok to react to these tweets and apologize to Wave for his presumptions and gossiping. He even started to sing one of his songs to show that he was a big fan, and that he meant no harm with his speculation.

Rod Wave & Chris Sails Clash

Elsewhere, Rod Wave also handled another social media narrative that seemed to propagate at his expense. GloRilla called him out for dropping an album the same day she was. “WHY DF WOULD YOU DROP ON MY DAY IM FINNA TWEAK OUT,” she wrote in Wave’s Instagram comments section upon the announcement of the aforementioned Last Lap. While this seems to be a joke, a theory bolstered by Glo engaging with his own social media page, some folks interpreted it as legitimate frustration.

Nevertheless, whether or not this is a contentious matter or just a light-hearted one, Rod Wave outsold GloRilla, so maybe she was right to be a little disillusioned. However, numbers don’t determine greatness in art. Fans enjoyed both new albums for wildly different reasons, and their crossover audience can get a kick out of both. We’ll see if Chris Sails continues to be a fan after this.

Lizzo Dodges Question About Hostile Workplace Allegations During Female Empowerment Event

Lizzo has experienced a pretty turbulent last couple of years, mostly due to hostile workplace and sexual harassment allegations against her in a lawsuit from various former dancers, along with other claims. However, with the case still reportedly on hold for now, she feels much better about sharing her ups and downs, speaking on her mental health, and addressing the public more visibly. Well, sometimes. During Fortune‘s “Most Powerful Women” event, the singer was asked about the allegations for an interview. Her response does not go into much detail about the accusations, most likely for legal reasons. But it does suggest that this event wasn’t the space to go into that.

“You know, I don’t want to talk about things like that,” Lizzo expressed when asked how she felt about the allegations. “This isn’t the space for it. We’re celebrating female CEOs and powerful women. This isn’t really the space to talk about the negative things that happen to us. ‘Cause so much negative stuff happens to powerful women, and this is not the space.” “Right. As I agree with you, I don’t think this is the platform for that. *laughs*,” she continued when the interviewer spoke on the necessary opportunity for powerful women to address their own allegations in their own words rather than through other reports.

Lizzo Declines To Answer Question About Allegations

I’m the happiest I’ve been in 10 months,” Lizzo shared concerning her mental health a few months ago. “The strange thing about depression is you don’t know you’re in it until you’re out of it. I’m definitely not all the way as carefree as I used to be.. But the dark cloud that followed me every day is finally clearing up. My smile reaches my eyes again and that’s a win. I thought my album was finished.. but I gotta get some of these good vibes off in a banger real quick. Thanks for your patience [red heart emoji].”

Meanwhile, it’s important to emphasize that this still an open case with some dismissed allegations and others still on the table. As such, we still have yet to receive an official ruling from a court of law on these accusations against Lizzo.

Tyla Expands Her Vision On Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update: Stream

If you’re looking for new jams to add to your rotation, we’ve got you covered with our latest R&B Season playlist update to round up the best of the best new releases this week, whether it’s within or adjacent to the genre. Leading the way is the expanded version of Tyla’s self-titled debut album, which contains a couple of new cuts at the top of the tracklist. Most notably, “PUSH 2 START” fuses all the styles that she’s been a star for as of late: Afrobeat, amapiano, R&B, and pop. In addition, the catchy flows and vocal harmonies give this record a larger than life feel while still being intimate.

Speaking of expanded deluxe editions on R&B Season, Jorja Smith has offered just that by adding some new remixes and re-imaginations of her falling or flying LP. What’s more is that they also vary when it comes to genre, with some alternate versions here indulging in jungle, garage, or even reggae. As for the “Lately” remix with Craig David, the straightforward R&B cut doesn’t deviate much from the original. But David does add some engaging vocal chemistry to one of the smoothest tracks on the original full-length.

HNHH R&B Season Playlist: Stream

Also, we wanted to shout out Isaiah Falls’ new two-pack LUCKY ME, which contains the solo cut “HAVE MY BABIES?” and “BUTTERFLIES” with Joyce Wrice. The latter is a very sultry and soft-spoken collaboration that drenches its bass and synth pads in reverb and adds some other embellishments like chimes, faint strings, and fuzzy wah guitar. It’s one of the more traditional R&B songs you’ll find this week, but a nevertheless relaxing one. After all, sometimes this vibe just hits the spot like no other.

Finally, we’d be remiss not to mention Mabel’s upbeat team-up with Ty Dolla $ign, “Stupid Dumb.” It creates a lot of tension before finally falling into a clubby rhythm, and its minimal approach highlights each vocal performance quite well. Let us know what your favorite R&B Season pick was this week, as well as what else we missed, down in the comments section below. Check the playlist out above and, as always, stick around for the latest amazing musical releases around the clock.
