Lil Yachty Savagely Roasts Kai Cenat For Trying To Start A Basketball Career

Kai Cenat is huge. He’s become one of the most popular streamers on the planet. As a result, he can kind of do whatever he wants. And what he wants to right now is play basketball. Cenat decided to help launch the Little Basketball Association, also known as the Little Ballers Association this past weekend. As the title suggests, the league is meant to give court time to the next generation of basketball talent. Kai Cenat has drawn praise for his decision to launch the league, but his burgeoning passion to play ball has led to some well-intentioned ribbing from Lil Yachty.

Lil Yachty attended an LBA game and was actually interviewed during the stream. The rapper made it clear that he respected what Kai Cenat has done. He went as far as to say that Cenat was an innovator when it came to making online content. “Man, I think he is so innovative,” Yachty asserted. “As far as like content creating. You can say what you want, you can hate, but who would’ve thought of this?” Boat then praised the streamer for taking time out to try to make a positive impact on kids’ lives. The interview took a turn, though, when the interviewer told Lil Yachty that Cenat ended his streaming career to pursue a career in basketball. As far as Yachty was concerned, that was a bad move.

Lil Yachty Clowned Kai Cenat For Being A Bad Shooter

“That took a lot of courage,” the rapper said. “[But] he should come out of retirement… cuse this ain’t a promising career.” He was asked what advice to give to Cenat if he was his coach, and he proceeded to get even more blunt. “Give up the ball more,” Lil Yachty asserted. “Cuse his shots ain’t going in.” All this is going on in a split screen stream where Cenat can be seen struggling on the court. The timing was pure coincidence, but it’s undeniably funny to watch lined up.

Kai Cenat officially announced his streaming retirement on September 22. “I’m quitting streaming and becoming a professional basketball player,” he wrote with no additional context. “Goodbye.” The tweet was followed up three days later with a video link and a promise that he will be going professional in the upcoming draft. The general reaction has been confusion, with many fans wondering if the streamer is merely trolling, or doing a bit for the sake of garnering more attention. We will know for sure in due time.

BIA And Lil Yachty Vent Their Frustrations On New Single “Pissed Off”

BIA and Lil Yachty have very different vibes. Very different. BIA is all about cool, sharp deliveries and stylish flexing. She sounds great over minimal beats, coming off commanding without being over the top. Lil Yachty is the complete opposite. He has a goofy, instantly recognizable voice that is charismatic, if not really cool at any point. Putting these two together on a song could have gone very wrong. Fortunately, it worked out. “Pissed Off” is BIA’s latest offering, and it proves that she can have sonic chemistry with just about anybody.

The beat is extremely skeletal. It’s heavy on the bass, and doesn’t offer much in the way of musical variety. It provides a perfect soundscape, however, for BIA to wax poetic on the things that annoy her. She’s got plenty of them. “Who playin’ down on their goals?,” she raps. “Who really touchin’ their goals. New b*tches f**kin’ your bros (Who?). Who really fake as they chain?.” The rapper’s delivery gets a bit more agitated as the song progresses, but she never looses her cool veneer. Lil Yachty hops on for the second verse, and does a surprisingly good job keeping pace. His voice is nasally as ever, but he busts out some clever bars to help make his appearance an overall W.

Karrahbooo Claims That “Soulless People” Are Trying To Ruin Her Career

Karrahbooo can’t seem to catch a break. She made waves initially for her music, and her involvement with Concrete Boys. Since parting ways with the group, though, Karrahbooo’s brand has become social media controversy. She can’t seem to go more than a week or two without beefing with her former label boss, Lil Yachty. The rapper took to Instagram on September 27, though, and made ominous comments about the state of her career. She claimed that people high up on the food chain are silencing her.

The post appeared on Karrahbooo’s Instagram Story. DJ Akademiks managed to grab a screenshot of the rapper’s statement, and it doesn’t look/sound good. Karrahbooo flat out states that “soulless people” are in control of her career. “It never goes good,” she claimed. “These people will do anything to they can to hurt u and make you look crazy in the media.” The rapper doesn’t mention anybody by name, but she goes on to level more accusations at them. Karrahbooo believes the powers that be encourage fans to turn their backs on the artists they once loved when the artist becomes difficult.

Karrahbooo Suggests She’s A ‘Victim’ Of The Industry

“When these victims try and tell the truth they just end up receiving so much backlash,” she claimed. “No one believes them.” The most ominous aspect of the post, however, came towards the end. The rapper alluded to the fact that most “victims” don’t get to tell their story until years later, when their career is already ruined. She doesn’t directly correlate her situation with this scenario, but it’s not a stretch to make the connection yourself.

“Nobody ever says anything until ten years later, Karrahbooo alleged. “One person decides to speak up and then everyone else come [sic] forward then all of a sudden everyone cares and feels bad.” She does not want to become one of these people, however. As she notes in her closing statement, ten years and an outpouring of sympathy does not make up for a derailed career. “It’s too late then,” she asserted. It’s difficult to parse what Karrahbooo is a “victim” of, given that she has been vague about her experiences with Lil Yachty and Concrete Boys. Hopefully more information comes to light. And soon.

BIA Releases New Single “Pissed Off” Featuring Lil Yachty

Chart-topping global artist BIA releases her new single, “PISSED OFF,” featuring Lil Yachty. The multi-platinum rapper unleashes her new track and music video amid her supporting role on the second leg of Nicki Minaj’s historic Pink Friday 2 World Tour, which is currently underway.

BIA’s career is driven by her versatility, and coming off the aspirational highs of her contributions to the Bad Boys: Ride Or Die soundtrack, BIA is crisp and sharp-witted over the droning 808s of “PISSED OFF,” matching Lil Yachty’s shrill delivery with compelling inflection trickery of her own. In the music video, a fur-laden BIA, accompanied by a few friends—Lil Yachty included—take to the streets to deliver their disgust in resplendent style.

In the days leading up to the single release, BIA announced “PISSED OFF” with a TikTok preview that quickly amassed over 100,000 views in two days. The “London” rapper has spent much of 2024 working on new music, and her audience is excited for new material.

Her latest single also follows her hugely successful 2023 album, Really Her and Really Her (Int’l Deluxe), which produced two Billboard Rhythmic Top 40 placements, “London” featuring J. Cole and “I’m That Bitch” featuring Timbaland.

BIA’s heightened success and popularity has fueled her ventures into the entertainment and business world. She has become a mainstay at major live sporting events, performing at 2023 NBA All-Star Weekend and helping to soundtrack the NHL Playoffs and Women’s World Cup. Her recently-launched cosmetic brand, Beauty For Certain, makes a cameo in BIA’s video for “Lights Out,” which features GRAMMY nominee J.I.D. and makes a home on the Bad Boys: Ride Or Die soundtrack.

BIA And Lil Yachty’s ‘Pissed Off’ Video Airs Out Some Of Their Rap Grievances

BIA and Lil Yachty vow dire consequences for anyone who irks them in the video for their new collaboration, “Pissed Off.” “Somebody just pissed me off, where’s the switch?” she intones on the chorus, making it sound very much like hot lead will be flying at any moment. And just in case there was any doubt of her intentions, this is how she opens her verse: “Somebody gon’ die today / This sound like Jeff in the ride today / I make it slip if she slide today / It’s on the seat of my right-side / Kissing you bitches goodbye today.”

The tag-team is BIA’s third high-profile collab with an Atlanta rapper in 2024; in June, she teamed up with JID for “Lights Off,” while in July, she and Flau’jae appeared on Culture Jam’s latest compilation with Lakeyah on “Can’t Get Enough.” Like plenty of her rapper peers, the Beantown native has plenty to be pissed off about this year, too.

In March, BIA got into it with Cardi B over the shared Missy Elliott sample that appeared in both rappers’ new singles. Supposedly, Cardi took shots at BIA on her “Wanna Be Remix” verse, while BIA clapped back with “Sue Meee.” In June, Cardi made mentions of “opps,” and fans were sure it was a reference to BIA, so her latest will almost certainly be interpreted as a Cardi diss, as well. 2025 can’t get here soon enough.

Karrahbooo Claims She’s Been “Silenced” Since Beefing With Lil Yachty

Karrahbooo is bigger than ever, though not for ideal reasons. The rapper decided to leave Concrete Boys, and despite things initially seeming cordial, the fallout has been messy. Secondhand accounts state that Karrahbooo was dissatisfied with Lil Yachty’s leadership. Yachty didn’t appreciate that, and proceeded to call out Karrahbooo on Instagram Live. Things died down after the IG Live blow up, but it looks like Karrahbooo is ready to put the past behind her.

The rapper hopped on Instagram Live on September 12. She clearly wanted to share more than she was saying, but she made it clear that there were two sides to her Lil Yachty feud. “There’s two sides of the story,” she asserted. “There’s truth and there’s cap.” Karrahbooo started to get into the specifics of the truth and cap, but she cut herself off. “I’ve been silenced,” she claimed. “Three months.” She doesn’t go into much detail about why she’s been silenced. One gets the sense that the silence is close to being broken, though. The fact that Karrahbooo said anything at all is ample proof.

Karrahbooo Thanked Fans For Their Continued Support

Karrahbooo went on IG Live earlier in the day and gave fans a more earnest side. She didn’t mention Yachty by name, but she thanked the fans for continuing to support her throughout the feud. “Thank y’all, for coming to my Live,” she stated. “Everything is fine, and I’m okay. Love y’all.” It’s the first time she has addressed the Lil Boat situation on video since the latter claimed to be her ghostwriter. Yachty even leaked the reference track for the On the Radar freestyle he said he wrote for Karrahbooo.

Karrahbooo challenged these claims with a written response via her own Instagram. She also made it clear that she didn’t want anything more to do with the rapper or the Concrete Boys. “Put it on yo kid I ain’t write these songs miles,” she wrote. “Stop bullying me big dawg I never said anything you letting random fans get in yo head man up.” Hopefully Karrahbooo’s Instagram Live is a sign of positive things to come for her career.

Pharrell, Kyle Richh, Lil Wayne, And Lil Yachty Take Over The Airwaves In Their Colorful ‘Can’t Hold Me Down’ Video

Remember the movie Pleasantville, the 1998 fantasy dramedy with Reese Witherspoon and Tobey Maguire, where the two modern teens get transported into their favorite 1950s black-and-white sitcom, bringing color and chaos into the lives of the characters in the titular small town?

That’s basically the plot of Pharrell‘s latest Doodles video, “Can’t Hold Me Down” with Kyle Ricch, Lil Wayne, and Lil Yachty, only sort of in reverse. Most of the video takes place in the greyscale Dullsville, but the three rappers invade the airwaves via the denizens’ TV sets, blasting them with color and brainwashing them into dancing to Pharrell’s boisterous beat.

“Can’t Hold Me Down” is the second single from Pharrell’s ongoing project with Doodles, the next-gen entertainment company that spun off from the NFT craze a couple of years ago and now looks to, apparently, get into the animation and film businesses with the Dullsville And The Doodleverse movie. The movie will debut at The Toronto International Film Festival featuring the vocal talents of Lil Wayne, Lil Yachty, Coi Leray, and Swae Lee, with a soundtrack produced by Pharrell. The movie was announced in July, with the Coi Leray-led single “Not In The Store” following in August.

Pharrell Enlists Lil Wayne, Lil Yachty And Kyle Richh For “Can’t Hold Me Down”

Pharrell knows what he’s doing. He’s one of the most revered producers in the world, and he’s made hits for longer than some of his collaborators have been alive. Despite his longevity, Pharrell always finds new ways to push his sound. He has his signature four count, but past that, there’s little similarities between his different eras. “Can’t Hold Me Down,” the artist’s latest single, is another bold step forward. He brings Lil Wayne, Lil Yachty and Kyle Richh into the mix for a song driven by bombastic synth lines.

“Can’t Hold Me Down” has a blunt force instrumental. Once it gets going, it doesn’t stop. This means the rappers on the track have to match its energy. Kyle Richh’s husky voice is a perfect match for Pharrell’s beat, firing off one quotable after another. Lil Yachty is the wild card, given how warbly and goofy his vocals can tend to sound. That said, Boat manages to hold the middle verse down while delivering the chorus. The chorus is arguably the weakest part of the song, as it just reverts to repeating the title. Lil Wayne comes rolls through to absolutely crush the last verse, though. Weezy continues to prove that nobody can be as consistently eccentric and clever, and he gets the song across the finish line.

Big Sean had one of last week’s big releases with Better Me Than You. New albums are always prone to sharp-eared listeners looking for disses, and they think they found one here.

Did Big Sean Diss Lil Yachty On Better Me Than You?

As HipHopDX notes, On the Pressure Edition bonus track “Wire Me,” Sean raps, “I mean, I might have to even throw ’em a lil’ boat — pff / I’m seein’ n****s gettin’ drowned out ’cause they can’t switch up the flow / Just give ’em a year or two, and they gettin’ exposed.”

But, Sean says he didn’t diss Yachty despite the “lil boat’ reference. In fact, Yachty actually appears on the album. Sean told Complex:

“I wasn’t talking about [Yachty]. Yachty is on the album as well. On ‘Yes,’ he’s doing ad libs with me. I’m glad you said that, no I’m not taking a jab at Yachty. It was like a whole double entendre. [If I was referencing him] that would have been a whole other entendre [laughs]. He was in the studio with me while I was making the album. He actually has a verse on [‘Yes’], too. I might throw it on there later.”

He also said of the “n****s gettin’ drowned out” line, “To be real with you, when I thought of the bar, I just thought it was clever. I just see a lot of times where people get bored with people’s flows. Sometimes it’s the same flow. I’ve seen that in a lot of artists.”

Big Sean Clarifies His Alleged Diss Toward Lil Yachty On “Better Me Than You”

On Better Me Than You, Big Sean poured out his emotions and thoughts. After such a long wait in between projects, the Detroit rapper definitely wanted to make up for lost time in that regard, but also in terms of the amount of material. Along with the standard issue of his sixth studio LP, he also delivered four alternate versions that physical exclusives. They come in vinyl form and the names of each are Feelings, Focus, Clarity, and Pressure. The last of the bunch is causing some discussion online thanks to a sit-down between Sean and Complex.

During the interview, he was asked about a couple of lines on “Wire Me”, which seems to be the only additional bonus track included on the aforementioned editions. On it, Big Sean raps, “I mean, I might have to even throw ’em a lil’ boat—pff / I’m seein’ n****s gettin’ drowned out, ’cause they can’t switch up the flow / Just give ’em a year or two, and they gettin’ exposed“. Due to the inclusion of lil’ boat, the immediate thought for many was that it was a direct shot at Lil Yachty. However, Sean Don was quick to shut down the rumors, according to HipHopDX.

“I wasn’t talking about [Lil Yachty]. Yachty is on the album as well. On ‘Yes’ he’s doing adlibs with me. No, I’m not taking a jab at Yachty. It was like a whole double entendre. If I was referencing him] that would have been a whole other entendre”, he explained. Later on, he mentioned that fans might be able to hear more of the Georgia multi-hyphenate on the project. “He was in the studio with me while I was making the album. He actually has a verse on [‘Yes’] too. I might throw it on there later”. That would certainly be an interesting thing to hear and we hope he comes through on that.

What are your thoughts on Big Sean clearing up his alleged diss toward Lil Yachty? Did you know that Lil Boat is on the album? How are you liking Better Me Than You so far? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Big Sean and Lil Yachty.
