Lil Yachty seems to be feeling some confusion after being dissed by 23-year-old NBA YoungBoy on the former’s new Richest Opp project. Thankfully he’s in good company, seeing as Drake and J. Cole were also targeted within the lyrics of “F*ck The Industry Pt. 2,” with bars like “Play with me, Lil Yachty mad about JT, f*ggot / Bitch, play with me, half of y’all ain’t got more money than me.” Elsewhere, YB claims that Champagne Papi refused to work with him because of his ties to Durk, a topic that’s also making headlines.
After hearing the track late last night, Yachty turned to Twitter to share his reaction. Rather than type out a tweet, the Georgia native used a meme of 50 Cent to get his feelings across. “I mean, why he say f*ck me for?” the Power producer asks in the clip, prompting another user to reply with a video of the Lousiana native’s response. “This n*gga Yachty crazier than a muthaf*cka, son,” YoungBoy told the camera with a smile on his face. “Aye bitch, you got me laughing over here, boy. Bitch, you know why I said that, man.”

According to the “WTF” hitmaker, Lil Boat previously called him about the City Girl, who previously collaborated with him on “Act Up” in the earlier days of the female rap group’s come-up. “Mama, that bitch really check me ’bout that girl. That bitch checked the gangsta man,” YB continued to rant in response to Yachty. “If I ain’t mistaken, bro, you say you asked me about trying to talk to your bitch. And I was confused ’cause you a hoe and you was coming at me, like, I ain’t really do that. Bitch, I got a mental problem over here and I got too much money.”
“You n*ggas might as well stay the f*ck out my way,” he further advised. Apart from throwing shade at Yachty, the record-breaking rapper also didn’t hold back on publicly celebrating when Lil Durk confirmed that his highly anticipated project is delayed by a few weeks. Yesterday, NBA Youngboy posted the tracklist for Richest Opp on his Twitter account. The mixtape is set to have 17 tracks, which is quite a bit considered the 33-song album he just released in April. While YoungBoy does tend to release a ridiculous amount of material, there is a good reason for it. He has been on house arrest for years. Despite the ongoing beef with Lil Durk and his online rants, the rapper is currently living a relatively peaceful life in Utah. YoungBoy has been facing legal issues since he was arrested for federal gun charges several years ago. Sadly, because of this, he cannot make public appearances.
While YoungBoy might be on house arrest, he is still achieving huge career milestones. He just became the youngest rapper ever to have 100 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. His first single, “Untouchable,” reached number 95 in 2017, and since then, he has managed to chart an additional 99 times as either a lead artist or a featured artist. Youngboy joins an elite group of rappers, including Nicki Minaj, Drake, Lil Wayne, and Jay-Z, who have achieved this feat. He will no doubt chart again with some of the songs from his new mixtape. It seems like there might be some pretty controversial cuts on the album.
With NBA YoungBoy’s new release close at hand, new bits and pieces about the project have been dropping online. His recent social media activity indicates that this mixtape will likely be more aggressive in tone. Just hours before the album’s release, the lyrics to the song “F*ck The Industry Pt. 2” were shared via social media. One thing is for certain: YoungBoy isn’t pulling any punches this time around.
In the new song, YB directly calls out several high-profile artists including Drake, J. Cole, and Lil Yachty. He even outlined the specific disses by putting the targets’ names in red. “Talk to Drake cross Facetime, he wasn’t feeling me,” the lyrics read. “Told me that he f*ck with Durk, damn that sh*t getting to me.” It looks like YoungBoy is going all out on this new mixtape. Lil Yachty is hitting the road beginning this fall to support his latest album, Let’s Start Here. Since its release, the “Strike” musician has received praise from fans and other musicians for its innovative approach. The 14-track project even debuted atop the music charts. Now, supporters have the opportunity to the album live as Lil Yachty just revealed his Field Trip Global Tour kicking off this fall.
Yachty has shared how difficult planning the tour has been, but so far, it looks like everything worked itself out. Launching in Washington, DC on September 21, the Field Trip Global Tour has quite a massive schedule. Currently billed as a 39-date run, Lil Yachty will make his way around North America before hitting Europe in mid-October. At this time, no supporting or opening acts have been revealed; however, ticket sales are currently live.
Beginning at 10 a.m. local time today (May 9) in North America and at 1 p.m. BST in Europe, fans with access to Lil Yachty’s artist presale were able to snag tickets over the next few days. While general ticket sales begin on Friday, May 12, at the same time.

Lil Yachty will be hitting the road in support of his latest album, Let’s Start Here. The Quality Control signee took to Instagram where he announced The Field Trip tour, which will being him across 39 dates in North America and Europe. The tour launches on September 21st in Washington, DC at Echostage before he heads to cities like New York, Toronto, London, Berlin, Las Vegas and more. While he’ll be closing out the tour in Detroit on Nov. 5th there, unfortunately, won’t be any scheduled stops in his hometown of Atlanta.
Yachty’s upcoming tour feels like it could sell out quickly. For those who want to scoop up tickets, artist pre-sale are live on May 10th at 10 a.m. local time while Europe pre-sale is available at 1 pm BST. General public sales will be available on May 12th at 10 a.m. in North America and 12 p.m. in Europe. Given Yachty’s recent experimental sound, it feels like The Field Trip Tour ‘23 will allow his new sound to shine in front of a live audience.
It’s unclear what Lil Yachty has up his sleeve but the rapper’s hinted at using a live band in the past. At the beginning of the year, he held tryouts for an all-women band, which he later debuted during his performance at Saturday Night Live earlier this year. The rapper performed “the BLACK seminole” and “drive ME crazy!” during his SNL with the backing of his new band. It seems likely that they’ll be joining him on the road as well.
In addition to diving into psychedelic rock, Yachty’s levelled up his raps, as well. The release of “Poland” seemingly kicked off a new era in his career. Lil Yachty’s finally receiving his proper credit. A pioneering figure in the Soundcloud rap movement, he’s undoubtedly pushed the boundaries of hip-hop and influenced a generation of rappers who’ve followed him. However, in recent times, he’s also earned much more praise for his musical outings. 2022’s “Poland” became a viral hit that landed on many year-end song lists. But, it was his foray into psychedelic rock with Let’s Start Here that felt like a true testament to his range as an artist.
Some fans felt as though Let’s Start Here was Yachty’s attempt to abandon his rap beginnings. However, that clearly isn’t the case. He returned earlier this year with “Strike (Holster),” which bred some serious anticipation surrounding Yachty’s next project. Yachty leans into the vibrato delivery even further, just as he did on “Poland,” for a smooth, melodious banger. Still, it seems like “Strike (Holster)” is really just getting things in motion for a new era in Yachty’s career.
This week, Lil Yachty joined Kai Cenat on his recent livestream. Though the two delved into plenty of topics, including Cenat’s custom AF1s gifted by Twitch, the Atlanta rapper also previewed some new music. The rapper actually debuted a remix of Young Nudy and 21 Savage’s “EA,” which includes drill drums rather than Pi’erre Bourne’s signature trap percussion. It’s unclear where it’ll land but hopefully, it sees a release date in the near future.
Besides the recent remix, Lil Yachty’s been riding high in the last few months. He recently served as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live where he performed “The Black Seminole” and “Drive Me Crazy!” Prior to that, he revealed that he wanted to lock in for a joint album with Tyler, The Creator, who he said inspired him to explore the psychedelic rock sounds on his latest album Let’s Start Here. The father of one didn’t flex the unique feature himself. Instead, his good pal, Lil Yachty dished about it during his recent appearance on Kai Cenat’s internet show. The latter duo discussed a multitude of interesting topics, from DDG’s diss track to using the bathroom at Drizzy’s. This is something that the Georgia-born lyricist describes as “so annoying” now that he’s done it enough times.
“Every bathroom in his house has heated seats,” Yachty shared during the stream. Aside from that luxury, the toilets also play one of Tupac’s most famous diss tracks while in use. “And every bathroom in his house, when you walk up to the toilet, it opens and starts playing 2Pac’s ‘Hit ‘Em Up,’” Lil Boat alleged. “I swear to God! Every time it’s like, ‘Yeah, you fat muthaf*cka!’ It’s so annoying when you gotta take a shit ’cause it keeps looping.”
He’s had the pleasure of relieving himself at Drake’s house “several” times. However, Yachty noted that he’s yet to use every bathroom on the Canadian’s property. At this time, there are minimum “eight or nine” thrones he hasn’t christened, but that will surely change as his long-standing bromance with his “Oprah’s Bank Account” collaborator continues. While certainly laughable, the 36-year-old’s Tupac tribute isn’t exactly surprising. He’s previously expressed love for the late rhymer on various occasions.
Specifically, he spent an astounding $600K on two chains in 2020, both of them depicting the West Coast legend – one with gold and red accents, the other silver and blue. Aside from that ‘Pac was also Drake’s most-listened-to artist of 2022 in his annual Spotify wrapped. He spent 246 minutes of the year streaming the multi-talent’s discography, which placed him in the top seven percent of fans.
