A Leaked Lil Durk Verse Had The Rapper Scrambling To Explain A Lyric About ‘Drinking Pee’

Apparently, Drake’s new(-ish) track “Search & Rescue” was originally supposed to have a Lil Durk verse on it. As happens so often with Drake getting guest verses from younger rappers (and beneficiaries of his co-sign), Durk’s verse was scrapped for one reason or another but recently surfaced online.

Fans were tickled by the verse, which seemingly featured a kinky admission on Durk’s part; however, the rapper has since logged on to clarify the line in question before the rumors get too out-of-hand. In the verse, he raps the line: I’m worse than Kevin Gates, I’m me / India know I’m down to drink P.” While the Kevin Gates and India references are obvious (Baton Rouge rapper Kevin Gates is as well known for his outrageous claims in interviews as he is for his music, while India refers to Durk’s longtime girlfriend and social media personality India Royale), the “drink P” bit perked up fans’ ears, as it sounds a lot like he’s admitted to indulging in, well, let’s just say “watersports.”

However, he insisted that this isn’t the case in a comment on Akademiks’ post about the lyrics. “Down to drink p—— op (pop),” he clarified. “As in soda mix it with the lean … Just sometimes.”

For what it’s worth, this one is pretty much on Durk. Rappers are known for making up new slang all the time (“Pushin P” was a year ago now, talking about something else entirely), but it’s on them to make sure the context makes it easy for fans to figure out. Plus, hip-hop gossip channels have been abuzz with stories about stars’ urine-based proclivities, including the aforementioned Kevin Gates, who last year told Bootleg Kev he’d drink Beyoncé’s pee. Fans will probably forget all about this, though, when Durk drops the promised deluxe edition of Almost Healed

Lil Durk Says ‘Almost Healed’ is His Last Album Over 20 Songs

Lil Durk's 'Almost Healed' Debuts at No. 3 on Billboard 200 with 125K Units

Almost Healed may be the last lengthy album for Lil Durk. Hitting Instagram, Durk revealed his next release would be around 13 songs.

“I’m going back to 13 songs a album y’all can have that 20+ song album,” Durk wrote. “Make hip hop fun again we understand everybody got money let’s fuck em up like we was just doing s/o the females who been working salute keep going.”

Lil Durk may not have grabbed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200, but he had a crazy week for Almost Healed. The new album launched 15 songs into the Billboard 100.

Billboard notes the album will launch at No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart. But of the album’s 21 tracks, 15 entries will hit the Hot 100, with three cracking the Top 40.

The lead single, “All My Life” sits at No. 4, with “Stand by Me” feat. Morgan Wallen arrived at No. 22 and “Pelle Coat” at No. 35.

This is the third time Durk has had at least 15 songs on the Hot 100 simultaneously in his career.

The new album officially debuts with 125,000 equivalent album units, including 122,000 in streaming equivalent album units, a total of 167.82 million on-demand streams of the tracks. Additionally, Durkio moves 2,000 in pure album sales and 1,000 in track equivalent album units.

The strong effort was not enough to push Lil Durk past Almost Healed collaborator Morgan Wallen who sits at No. 2, and Taylor Swift, who returned to the chart’s top spot.

Lil Durk explored nature over the holiday weekend. Hitting the state of Tennessee, Durkio linked with country star Morgan Wallen to go fishing. Durk and Wallen recently collaborated on the Almost Healed album.

Durk shared an image with Wallen holding freshly caught fish. “Family is family can’t nothing change that p.s I’m done wit fish,” Durk wrote on Instagram.

“Durk done pulled up and taught me how to fish,” Wallen wrote in a separate post.

Lil Durk Wants to Host ‘Biggest Prayer’ in Chicago to End Petty Beef

Lil Durk wants to bring positivity to his hometown of Chicago. Hitting Instagram Durk detailed his desire to bring Chicago Muslims together for a prayer to eliminate beef.

“I want to hold the biggest prayer in Chicago for the Muslims that bring everybody together soon,” Durk wrote. “Price to the side then after get problems off the chest help the petty beef go away private location.”

On Wednesday (May 31), Lil Durk live-streamed himself on Instagram visiting a homeless man in Los Angeles who went viral on TikTok last month for playing Durk’s “All My Life” video with J. Cole on a projector screen inside a sidewalk tent.

Looking to help out this man who has fallen on some hard times, Lil Durk rewarded the man with a hotel room for a month, a cell phone, gift cards, and an unspecified amount of cash.

“I want to do something real special. I got kindness in my heart, right?” Smurk said during his Instagram Live broadcast while driving around L.A. “So the homeless guy that was playing ‘All My Life’ in the tent, I found him and I’ma pull up on him. I got him a hotel room for him. You never know what people are going through. I’m finna walk up to him, let’s get it.”

While Durk did live stream, he gave the man some respect by asking him first if he was Ok being on camera. Durk then positioned him in the frame and asked him his name.  “Pedro,” the man replied.

Durk has made headlines recently with his streak of good deeds. In April, the 30-year-old partnered with Amazon Music to launch the Durk Banks Endowment Fund to help two lucky students attend Howard University in Washington, D.C.The two students were each given a $50,000 scholarship to the prestigious HBCU and were selected from 20 participants in Durk’s Neighborhood Heroes HBCU College & Career Readiness Cohort Program. He also announced he’d be donating $250,000 to Howard’s GRACE Grant, a program created to help students needing tuition assistance.

J. Cole’s Reported ‘All My Life’ Verse Fee For Lil Durk Is ‘Cap,’ According To Cole’s Manager Ibrahim Hamad

J. Cole and Lil Durk’s collaborative song “All My Life” kicked off the rollout of Durk’s new album Almost Healed. The song performed well, peaking at No. 2 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. However, fans found themselves hung up on J. Cole’s reported verse fee to appear on the track.

Music blog Raphouse TV is at the head of the financial rumor. The outlet tweeted, “Lil Durk reportedly paid J. Cole $978K for his ‘All My Life’ verse, counting 489 words Cole spat. Cole reportedly charges $2K per word for the feature.” Based on Cole’s star power in the rap game, the price tag would be justifiable if it were real.

After gaining over eight million impressions, Cole’s longtime friend and manager Ibrahim “Ib” Hamad took a second to dispute the claim. According to Hamad, Raphouse TV is false or, as he put it, “Cap.”

Lil Durk’s team also issued a response to the rumor. “False news, we ain’t never paid for a feature… Ever,” wrote Durk’s DJ Bandz.

When asked about the song’s reception, Durk admitted to Complex, “[Cole] smoked my ass on that one, for one — barely. That barely happens. But shout out to J. Cole, shout out to [Dr.] Luke, we made it happen.”

Lil Durk Pays Tribute To Late Brother OTF DThang On Second Anniversary Of His Death

The past few weeks have been busy for Lil Durk, who delayed his Almost Healed album last month in favour of sharing a collaborative single with J. Cole, “All My Life” first. That track alone went on to out-stream NBA YoungBoy’s Richest Opp mixtape as a whole. The album also led the Chicago native to break his own record on the charts on Monday (June 5). He’s definitely been celebrating his latest achievements. Still, this time of year certainly isn’t easy for Durkio to keep a smile on his face.

Two years ago today (June 6), the father of six’s older brother, OTF DThang, was shot and killed in their home state. Durk’s sibling was just 32 years old at the time. Upon his passing, a report from TMZ came out revealing that DThang was hit by gunfire in the head outside of a nightclub. He ultimately died on the spot. He himself had dreams of becoming an artist like his brother but didn’t manage to fully see them realized before his tragic murder.

In the early hours of the morning, the “Laugh Now Cry Later” collaborator took to Instagram to pay tribute to his fallen family member. “Thang way, I miss you bloody,” Durk wrote in the caption alongside a happy-looking photo of the aspiring artist. “I got you smiling from up there, I got you ❤️‍🩹🏆,” he promised.

Elsewhere in the news, Lil Durk’s long-awaited Almost Healed album continues to make headlines. Not only did he impress us with his first-week sales, but it was also said that J. Cole made nearly $1M for his feature on their aforementioned joint effort. However, the Dreamville head’s manager has since shut down these claims, which you can read all about at the link below. Make sure to check back later for more hip-hop news updates.

J. Cole’s Manager Calls Cap On Nearly $1M Payment From Lil Durk Rumours For “All My Life” Feature

Lil Durk’s Almost Healed album had an undeniably impressive opening week after its delayed debut. Of the LP’s 21 tracks, one title in particular continues to stand out as a favourite among listeners. Before sharing his work with the world, the Chicago native offered up a teaser in the form of a single called “All My Life” with J. Cole. The collaboration has earned both lyricists immense praise from fellow industry icons and fans alike across social media. According to rumours floating around online, the Dreamville artist took home nearly $1 million for the verse he put together for Durk’s track.

Earlier this week, @raphousetv2 on Twitter alleged that the 7722 artist handed over an astounding $978K for Cole’s contribution. Breaking down the math of the transaction, for writing and spitting 489 words, the North Carolina-born star was believed to have made $2K/word for the feature. Few came out disputing the claims, especially considering how prolific Cole has become over the years, however, his manager, Ibrahim Hamad, set the record straight on Monday (June 5) afternoon.

J. Cole’s Manager Enters the Chat

Though Hamad didn’t reveal exactly how much Cole did make off of “All My Life,” he did use a cap emoji to indicate that the gossip is fake. It’s been a minute since the “Wet Dreamz” hitmaker gave us a solo project (his last, The Off-Season, landed in 2021) so it’s entirely possible he and Durk made a verse-for-verse arrangement, and we’ll hear the 30-year-old on his friend’s next project.

Elsewhere on his Almost Healed album, Lil Durk connected with Alicia Keys, Future, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, Rob49, and country singer Morgan Wallen. He also shared a posthumous feature from Juice WRLD, who appears on track 17, “Cross The Globe.” Do you think J. Cole’s “All My Life” feature is the best work he’s done so far in 2023? Let us know in the comments, and make sure to check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.
