Cardi B’s Heartfelt Letter To Kamala Harris Leads To Strong Reactions

Cardi B has not been shy in her support of Kamala Harris throughout the 2024 presidential campaign. Her speech at the Milwaukee rally was essentially a scathing rant on Donald Trump, labeling him a “hustler” and not in a good way. “Donald Trump is a hustler. Who is trying to hustle women out of their rights and hustle Americans out of their money. He’s selling more than watches and sneakers. He’s selling bigotry, misogyny, division, chaos, and confusion.” It led to a lot of criticism from the internet and other celebrities alike such as the ever-vocal Azealia Banks. She labeled it as “eye-goungingly cringe” and affirms that Cardi B was putting on a “stupid latina shtick.”

The New York rapper was steadfast in her response to everyone bashing it, saying, “I worked so hard, bro. I worked so hard on my speech.” Unfortunately, her effort to support Kamala Harris and her vision did not pan out, as Trump went on to win the electoral vote 292-224. The Invasion of Privacy MC has already voiced her disappointment in the results, but that wasn’t going to stop her for thanking the Democratic candidate for her efforts.

It’s a heartfelt message overall, as Cardi applauds her for putting up “a fight against all odds.” She appreciates that she put on for the women of color and “showed my daughters and women across the country that anything is possible.” But once again, her speaking up for Kamala has drawn more hate than love. Most of the IG comments are tearing her to shreds for not doing enough research on her and that she never had a real chance to win. Others were taking it there, with one user replying, “There’s a long list of reasons why she lost, and you’re one of them 👏

Doechii, JT & More Show Love To The LGBTQ+ Community In Heartfelt Letters

For the past seven years or so, Billboard has reached out to various artists and musicians for Pride Month in June to send letters of love to their LGBTQ+ fans and loved ones. Moreover, this year got new additions from the likes of “Alter Ego” duo Doechii and JT, UMI, Max Ernst, Allison Ponthier, Shinjiro Atae, Ashnikko, Icona Pop, MORGXN, and many more. Check out the “Via” link down below if you want to check out these stars’ full letters, as Billboard‘s original article includes select excerpts. As folks continue to advocate for the community’s rights and freedoms today while also celebrating the progress since the 1969 Stonewall Riots and their own lives, these moments and messages are always important to treasure.

“I owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to the LGBTQ+ community for embracing me so tightly and pushing not only my music, but also championing my personal growth,” Doechii penned for her fans, supporters, and close companions. “My creative work is heavily influenced by both my Florida roots and the vibrant LGBTQ+ community. My music is dedicated to all those who have encouraged me to strive for excellence and even to those who may have doubted me along the way.”

“I know it’s not always easy to exist or love yourself when you don’t always have the support or acceptance from family, friends and these lawmakers, but never give up and keep fighting for yourself!” JT shared. “Find safe spaces to celebrate and love yourself. Find people who support and can help create opportunities for you to better yourself. When it feels like no one understands you and you just wanna give up, please hold on and stay strong.”

Meanwhile, this comes as other artists like KAYTRANADA reflect on their own journey when it comes to their sexuality and openness in the music space. These challenges can be downright dangerous for many out there, a tragic and abhorrent reality that continues to rear its ugly head in the industry. But there are also more chances for outward support and discussion than ever. As such, hopefully this gratitude and loving appreciation is something that transcends just 30 days in a year.

Gunna Cites His “Gift From God” In Resurfaced Letter To Judge

After getting arrested in a major RICO indictment, Gunna was released from prison in December of last year. The indictment saw the arrest of 25 alleged YSL members, including Young Thug. Since Gunna’s release, the performer has been bombarded with allegations that he “snitched” on his co-defendants, though he vehemently denies this.

Nowadays, the Georgia native is enjoying his freedom, reveling in the success of his latest album, A Gift & a Curse. Amid the first anniversary of his release, social media users have dug up a letter the rapper wrote to the judge while still behind bars, in which he defends his innocence. Gunna Maintains His Innocence In Powerful Letter

“2022 has been one of the best years of my life, despite this difficult situation,” his letter begins. “This year I had the whole world pushing P.” He continues, citing his upbringing, and how his art has allowed him to make a positive impact on the lives of others. “I use my art form, my gift from God, to change my circumstances,” he wrote. “For now, I don’t have any freedom. But I am innocent. I hate being falsely accused and will never stop fighting to clear my name! The picture that is being painted of me is ugly and untrue… I have all faith that God will grant me justice for the purity in my heart and the innocence of my actions.”

“Nothing will stop me from chasing my dreams,” he added. “I won’t stop being a good person, even if some unnamed and unknown accusers want to see me as a bad person.” What do you think of Gunna’s letter to the judge resurfacing? Diddy Gets Letter From Cassie’s Friend Detailing His Alleged Abuse

While Diddy and Cassie settled the sexual assault lawsuit that the latter brought against the former, the story is still not over. On one hand, multiple other alleged victims came forward with legal action of their own against him, which is seemingly spiraling further and further with each passing week. On the other, other tangential figures in the singer’s case came forward with their own testimonies and claims. The latest to do this is Cassie’s friend Tiffany Red, who wrote a letter to Sean Combs published in Rolling Stone. In it, she gives weight to her friend’s claims and further suggests certain patterns when it comes to his allegedly abhorrent behavior.

Moreover, Red explained that she met Cassie in 2015, and that she helped her write songs for her second album, which never came out. They became close, and spoke about the latter’s relationship with Diddy quite often. So, when the three met at Cassie’s surprise 29th birthday party, Tiffany alleged that he didn’t take kindly to her being so close with his artist. When the singer wanted to go to a karaoke bar, Puffy and his crew allegedly tried to convince her otherwise, but they ended up making it shortly after Cassie and company got there. Then, he took the Connecticut native outside for a chat, and Red followed them given her hunch that something was up.

Excerpts From Cassie’s Friend’s Letter To Diddy

Furthermore, Diddy allegedly verbally abused Cassie when Red found them, and she became too scared to do anything as his entourage surrounded them. When everyone was back at Cassie’s apartment, she left to be with him even though she didn’t want to, according to her friend. This is allegedly the “freak-off” sex party that she named in her now-settled lawsuit. Later that night, Red claimed, they both returned very drunk and high, and the Bad Boy mogul screamed at her for her work on Cassie’s songs.

“I am traumatized by you,” the letter reads. “Your abuse of power has inflicted ongoing harm on countless individuals, including myself, my friends, and my peers. It pains me to write this letter to you as a Black woman, but when will this cycle of abuse stop? It has to stop.” For more news and the latest updates on Cassie and Diddy, stick around on HNHH.

Lil Yachty Shares Letter He Received From Tay-K

Communication between Tay-K and his fans has been pretty limited. That’s obviously because the rapper is serving a 55-year prison sentence that was handed down shortly after he first broke onto the rap scene. Earlier this year he popped up periodically on various social media pages first by sending fans a letter via his Instagram story. He later thanked his fans for their response to the letter on Twitter.

Now, Lil Yachty has taken to his Instagram story to share that he’s also in communication with the young rapper. “Real n*gga @tayk47shawty” he captioned a picture of a letter he was sent by the rapper. While it’s unclear what the extent of their communication is, Yachty is giving a pretty clear cosign to the incarcerated Tay-K. In the comments of a repost of the picture, fans seem to wonder why so many are sticking their necks out for the “The Race” rapper when he won’t be released for decades. “I Can’t Wait Til bro gets released In 2089,” reads one of the top comments on the post. Check out the picture of the letter below.

Lil Yachty Shares Letter He Got From Tay-K

Despite his situation, Tay-K appears to still be working on new music. A track from the rapper was previewed in a trailer released for Rugr@ merch back in June. Lil Yachty has also been working on new music. Over the weekend he dropped a pair of new tracks with JID. The two songs released were a fan-favorite unreleased cut called “Van Gogh” and a Babytron collab called “Half Doin Dope.”

Lil Yachty also shared a new song called “TESLA” last weekend. The neon-tinged banger served as the 4th single from a currently unannounced upcoming project Yachty has been working on this year. It’s following up his shift into psychedelic rock music on Let’s Start Here earlier this year. What do you think of Lil Yachty and Tay-K being in touch while the latter is in prison? Stefflon Don And Melli Add To List of Tory Lanez Support Letters

In a new Meghann Cuniff article, additional letters in support of Tory Lanez have been unsealed. These new letters come from UK grime artist Stefflon Don and R&B artist Melii. In her letter, Stefflon Do said she was “deeply saddened by the incident that led to Tory’s conviction.” She signed the letter under real name, Stephanie Allen. Additionally, Allen spoke on the impact of her “Senseless” remix with Lanez. “[The song] resonated deeply with our audience and received significant acclaim, climbing the charts and touching the hearts of many listeners,” she wrote. “This achievement stands as a testament to Tory’s artistry and ability to connect with people through music.”

Meanwhile, Melii, who was recently ordered to pay $4 million in relation to a 2017 shooting, also expressed her support for Lanez. “His image he had was more of a character for the industry he’s in. But even through that, his real self always shined through and that’s why we all love him the way we do,” she wrote. “Although this took a turn I ask that you please give Daystar a chance. Give him the opportunity to be home soon and not be seen in such a horrible light.”

Of course, Stefflon Don and Melii are just the most recent voice to back Lanez. The rapper received a 10-year prison sentence earlier this month. Iggy Azalea was publicly mocked for her letter of support. The Australian rapper had reportedly hired Lanez to produce her next album. As a result, she wrote a glowing review of the Toronto MC. However, many saw her letter as hypocritical, given that Azalea has previously accused other performers, namely Playboi Carti, of abusive behavior. Furthermore, Azalea’s letter essentially boiled down to “Tory has never shot me so I think he’s a good person.”

Among the other 75 letters written on Lanez’s behalf was one from Mario. “When Tory first became a father,” the letter says, “I remember a conversation about everything he wanted to leave for his child someday.” “I have never seen Tory act out of character in a manner to hurt someone,” it also reads. “We’ve spoken on the phone many times and prayed with each other. All I can ask and pray for is that he and his son are treated fairly,” the rapper wrote. However, Mario’s letter also received significant backlash on social media. Regardless, the letter didn’t help and Lanez could spend as much as the next decade behind bars.

Barack Obama Reportedly Spoke About Daily Gay Fantasies In 1982 Letter To Ex-Girlfriend

A letter that President Barack Obama wrote to his ex-girlfriend in 1982 has made some major revelations about the former commander-in-chief’s sexuality. “In regard to homosexuality, I must say that I believe this is an attempt to remove oneself from the present. A refusal perhaps to perpetuate the endless farce of earthly life. You see, I make love to men daily, but in the imagination,” Obama wrote. The letter was sent to Alex McNear, his girlfriend while studying at Occidental College. “My mind is androgynous to a great extent. And I hope to make it more so until I can think in terms of people, not women as opposed to men. But, in returning to the body, I see that I have been made a man, and physically in life, I choose to accept that contingency.”

Originally, McNear had redacted the more salacious parts of the letter, which is currently in the possession of Emory University. However, Obama biographer David Garrow had a friend transcribe the letter by hand and send him a copy. This had to be done as Emory does not allow photos of the letter. Furthermore, Garrow defended what the former President wrote. “I’m a historian, not a psychologist. But I think it’s ‘public record’ news that a (vast?) majority of human beings have sexual fantasies!” he said via email to The Post.

Obama’s “Gay Letter” Resurfaces

People are discussing the letter after it was mentioned in an interview by Garrow. He wrote the 1400-page biography, Rising Star: The Making Of Barack Obama, in 2017. “So when Alex showed me the letters from Barack, she redacted one paragraph in one of them and just said, ‘It’s about homosexuality,’” Garrow told Tablet. “So I emailed Harvey [Klehr], said, ‘Go to the Emory archives.’ He’s spent his whole life at Emory, but they won’t let him take pictures. So Harvey has to sit there with a pencil and copy out the graph where Barack writes to Alex about how he repeatedly fantasizes about making love to men.” Garrow further noted that Obama was something of a “sex machine” after moving to New York to attend Columbia.

Garrow also painted comparisons between Obama and his successor, Donald Trump. “I’ve sometimes said to people that I think Barack is actually just as insecure as Trump. But in ways that are not readily perceived by the vast majority of people,” he said. “I think that’s probably my most basic takeaway. [Obama] has no interest in building the Democratic Party as an institution. I think that’s obvious. “And I don’t think he had any truly deep, meaningful policy commitments other than the need to feel and to be perceived as victorious, as triumphant.”

Akbar V Promotes Upcoming Single Seemingly Dedicated To Nicki Minaj

Rapper and “Love & Hip Hop” star Akbar V is a big Nicki Minaj fan just like the rest of us, and she wants to honor that fandom on wax. Moreover, she recently took to Twitter to announce a new single coming out on August 18 titled “A Letter To My Idol.” If you’re wondering what that has to do with the Queen, it’s because her face is on the cover art with a crown placed above her head. Of course, this made a lot of people clown her overt support online, whether because they think it’s to grab attention or just because they find it cringe. Whatever the case, it’ll still be curious to check out what kind of angle she takes considering other links between them.

Furthermore, the two share a common (well, kind of) enemy in Cardi B, although Nicki Minaj and Cardi is more like a Cold War. After all, it’s mostly their fanbases and most crazed, extreme individuals that perpetuate that kind of narrative around the two reigning femcees. The “WAP” rapper and Akbar V, though, definitely have beef, with diss tracks and all. As such, for those who aren’t super familiar with Akbar and Nicki’s previous relationship, this might seem directly tied to that feud.

Akbar V’s Announcement

Most recently, Akbar V responded to an alleged subliminal on Cardi B’s “JEALOUSY.” “Been to Atlanta, but b***hes ain’t brave,” Cardi raps on the song, and the self-titled “Queen of Atlanta” thinks it’s about her. “Ain’t no b***h gonna act like my city no punk, even if you wasn’t talking about me, b***h,” Akbar clapped back in a video. “Ain’t no b***h from Atlanta no punk. We very brave in Atlanta,” and she said that a diss to anything Atlanta-related is always a diss to her.

“Them pr stunts got you begging for clicks, we don’t throw mics we throw up our fists #yougetit,” she tweeted, referring to Cardi B’s recent microphone scandal. Even though that’s at the forefront of public attention, it might obfuscate Akbar and Nicki’s past collaborations and co-signs. We’ll see just how deep this upcoming track goes into all that. On that note, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Akbar V and Nicki Minaj.

Tory Lanez’ Hair Loss Doctor Writes Letter To Judge, Claims He Helped “Countless” People

Recently, a letter written to the judge by Tory Lanez’ hair loss doctor hit the internet. The letter has gotten social media users talking. While those in support of Lanez feel as though the doctor made some good points, most are just clowning Lanez. Either way, it’s clear that he was pulling out all the stops to try to lighten his sentence. In the letter, Craig L. Ziering claims that he first met Lanez in 2018, when they had a consultation about the artist’s hair loss. He goes on to claim that the two of them developed a close bond over the course of their relationship.

Ziering then says that Lanez has helped “countless numbers of people suffering from hair loss” by sharing his personal battle on social media. According to Ziering, Lanez “has had a particular focus on the African American community and the medical issues that are particularly troubling to them.” “It is clear,” he says, “that this community has not had all the access and information that it needs and deserves.”

Letter From Lanez’ Hair Loss Doctor

The doctor went on to claim that he and Lanez have plans to open “outreach clinics and pharmacies in underserved communities,” in order to provide access to affordable healthcare. Ziering asked the judge for leniency in Lanez’ sentencing, claiming to be “sure” that the artist “will never put himself” in a similar situation again. Lanez finally received his sentence earlier this week. He was sentenced to 10 years, including time served.

The sentencing has sparked a major debate surrounding whether or not Lanez is innocent, and if his sentence his fair. Amid the sentencing, various letters written for the judge’s consideration have surfaced. Letters from Iggy Azalea, Mario, and more have led to some controversy. Lanez has maintained his innocence throughout, however. He released a statement yesterday in which he claims he’s in no way apologizing for what he was convicted of.
