Iggy Azalea’s Full Letter To Tory Lanez Gets Wild Reactions On Twitter

Tory Lanez’s sentencing is sweeping pretty much every media corner right now, and Iggy Azalea is, oddly enough, at the forefront. Moreover, social media users had a field day when the judge in Lanez’s case revealed that the Australian rapper and singer sent him a letter in support of him, one of over 70 that came in. Later on, she denied supporting him explicitly, and simply said that she was asked to give her honest opinion on the matter. However, after journalist Meghann Cuniff published the entire letter online, people blasted Azalea for her apparent lies and statements.

“I would not write to you on behalf of an abuser,” Iggy Azalea said of Tory Lanez in the letter. “I refuse to believe that he would do anything in malice especially to a woman. He said this is an opportunity to humble himself and soften his heart- ironic to hear one of the kindest people I know strive to become even kinder. I’m not shocked- Its who he is. Watering and shining light on others until something beautiful grows. Daystar Peterson is not the pest you’ve heard about, he’s a gardener. He helps others bloom.”

Iggy Azalea’s Letter To Tory Lanez

Of course, a lot of people clowned the flowery and generous portrayal of the Canadian artist. However, a more salient point was that Iggy Azalea did seem quite supportive of him, even as she claimed that she hadn’t spoken to him in a long time. From what this letter indicated, the 33-year-old reached out to him around February, and many took issue with her trying to cover that part up. Still, it’s easy to put her statements out of context. Whether she directly addressed the Megan Thee Stallion situation or not, her attempt to exalt Tory Lanez makes it hard to see it as anything other than full support.

Meanwhile, a lot of people also took issue with Iggy’s comments given that she alleged mistreatment at the hands of her former partner Playboi Carti. As such, many called her hypocritical for this support. Amid all those criticisms, though, this letter in full only made people clown her even more. Check out some reactions to the letter down below.

Twitter Reacts To The Letter

Regardless of this situation, this sentence already changed significantly. It’s probably going to keep doing so, and the discourse surrounding it will likely permeate for a long time. After all, this letter just added another element to an already wild, contentious, and scandalous trial. For more news and the latest updates on Iggy Azalea and Tory Lanez, check back in with HNHH.

Iggy Azalea’s Letter About Tory Lanez Gets Published Online

Iggy Azalea caught a whole bunch of heat online earlier this week when it was revealed that she wrote to the judge in the Tory Lanez case. Overall, Iggy was one of 76 people who wrote a letter on behalf of the disgraced artist. In her letter, she explained that Tory is a great person and that he doesn’t deserve to go to prison for a long time. Of course, many felt like this was a wild thing to do as Iggy herself as accused other men of abuse. That man is Playboi Carti. However, she wrote the letter anyway, and many are curious as to what she actually said.

Thankfully, legal reporter Meghann Cuniff was able to obtain the letter written by Azalea. On her website, the reporter published the letter in its entirety. Certain aspects of the letter are certainly interesting, and we will be highlighting some. For instance, Iggy wrote, “I would not write to you on behalf of an abuser.” She said this before noting that she never saw Lanez lose his temper. Additionally, she claimed he was extremely kind, especially to women. “I refuse to believe that he would do anything in malice especially to a woman,” she claimed.

Azalea then went on to deliver some poetic language about how Tory is the best person she knows. “He said this is an opportunity to humble himself and soften his heart – ironic to hear one of the kindest people I know strive to become even kinder,” she claimed. “I’m not shocked – Its who he is. Watering and shining light on others until something beautiful grows. Daystar Peterson is not the pest you’ve heard about, he’s a gardener. He helps others bloom.”

Lastly, the artist also revealed that Tory Lanez had been hired to work on her next album. This led to her promising a judge that she would have a significant income source for Tory upon his release. Overall, it is clear that Iggy cares deeply for Tory. However, based on the sentence, this letter didn’t make that much of an impact.

Iggy Azalea Responds To Tory Lanez Letter Drama

Iggy Azalea recently caused a lot of controversy on Twitter when the court in Tory Lanez’s case revealed that she wrote one of over 70 letters supporting him. Of course, this ruffled feathers because of Lanez’s guilty conviction for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, a fellow female rapper. Not only that, but some believe that this is because Megan never collaborated with the Australian rapper. However, Iggy actually responded to all this drama on Twitter. Replying on Twitter to coverage of her letter, she addressed this development and the criticism towards her, maintaining that she didn’t side with anyone and that her beliefs go deeper than who’s right in this case.

“For the record,” Iggy Azalea’s tweet began. “1. I have not been in touch with Tory for months, I have no reason to be, but I do wish him well. 2. I don’t ‘support’ anyone. The whole things is full of oddities. My letter never mentioned anything in regard to what happened that night.” Her subsequent points detail the circumstances of the letter itself, and why she thinks advocating for Tory Lanez is important regardless of guilt.

Iggy Azalea’s Statement On Tory Lanez Letter

“3. I was told this was for a judge only. Yet it’s being discussed in public?” Iggy Azalea continued. “I never intended to publicly comment. 4. I am not in support of throwing away ANY ones life. We can give reasonable punishments that are rehabilitative instead. I support prison reform. Period. 5. I was asked to write about my genuine experiences and the type of punishment I think he deserves: I did. It’s not really that interesting but I understand why it’s being sensationalized… See ya next week to discuss pizza toppings I suppose. Lol.” “I really hate that this is todays discourse online because it’s not really an explosive revelation,” she replied to a fan. “Yes: he should be held accountable. No: the charges don’t warrant 5plus in prison. Most agree with that sentiment because it’s a reasonable take. This is not news worthy.”

Iggy’s Response To Fan

Meanwhile, speaking of statements, Megan Thee Stallion issued one of her own during the hearing on Lanez’s sentencing via the District Attorney. Given the animosity-filled and murky nature of this discourse and case, statements like these were never going to land well for everyone no matter what. Still, it stands to reason that the 33-year-old’s motive behind the letter isn’t as vindictive or dismissive of Megan’s story as it might seem to fans. With that in mind, stick around on HNHH for more news and the latest updates on Iggy Azalea and the Tory Lanez case.

Iggy Azalea Reportedly Wrote To Judge In Support Of Tory Lanez, Twitter Reacts

Iggy Azalea and Tory Lanez were reportedly hanging out with one another prior to the Megan Thee Stallion trial. Overall, some felt like this was a bit strange. After all, some thought it would be odd for Iggy to support Tory so publically amid such a huge scandal. Either way, it seemed as though their friendship had drifted apart as he began going to court. Subsequently, he was convicted of the Megan Thee Stallion shooting which has led to months of anticipation for his sentencing. The sentencing has been delayed on numerous occasions, however, today, it is finally taking place.

According to Meghann Cuniff, the courtroom is packed today, and many are making statements prior to the judge’s decision. As Cuniff reports, Judge Harriford received a number of letters. These letters were in support of Tory Lanez, who is facing 13 years in prison. Overall, more than 70 letters were submitted, and one of them came from none other than Iggy Azalea. It has not been stated what the letter says, although we do know that she submitted one.

Tay-K Thanks Fans For Response To His Recent Letter

Tay-K shared a message to his fans on Twitter, Monday night, expressing his gratitude for the positive response to his recent public letter. In the letter, the rapper reflected on his incarceration at such a young age. The rapper, best known for his hit song “The Race,” is currently behind bars serving a sentence of 55 years to life.

“Just heard about the response to my letter. I’m forever indebted to my fans for going so crazy on my behalf #freetayk,” Tay-K wrote. “It means a lot especially in this situation, we not letting these fake ass stories fly, we gonna get the truth out.”

Tay-K’s Appreciative Post

As for his actual letter, Tay-K began by stating his love for his fans. He also noted that he’s been in prison for over five years by this point. He continued: “It’s still crazy to me that I never had a chance to live outside as an adult. I’ve been locked up and in and out of the ‘justice’ and CPS system 4 my whole life. Not sure if y’all know but I got sentenced as an adult to 55 years in prison for a crime where I wasn’t even the shooter. I wasn’t even alleged to have a gun. I was never even suspected to have pulled a trigger or hurt anyone.”

He further argued: “I was young and didn’t have no positive figures around. Now that I’m older I know how important focusing on leading by example is. I love my fans and I don’t want any1 to think I’m promoting or really recommending violence. That’s why I really dedicate a lot of my time in here to using the success of my music to have a positive impact on other young artist, even if it’s something small like taking a phone call or writing a letter to keep them positively inspired. Regardless of my situation the movement is eternal.” Tay-K’s sentence stems from the murder of a 21-year-old man in 2016. Tay-K was just a teenager at the time. He previously shared a plea for a “second chance at adulthood,” earlier this year.

Dr. Dre Takes Legal Action Against Marjorie Taylor Greene Over “Still D.R.E.” Use

Dr. Dre is taking legal action against Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene. The congresswoman used Dre’s iconic song, “Still D.R.E.,” during a promotional video posted on Monday.

Dre initially voiced his displeasure with Greene’s use of the song in a statement provided to TMZ.

“I don’t license my music to politicians, especially someone as divisive and hateful as this one,” he told the outlet.

Afterward, Dre’s lawyer, Howard King, fired off a letter demanding Greene cease and desist from using his client’s music.

The letter calls out Greene for not having “a passing familiarity with the laws of our country.”

It continues: “It’s possible, though, that laws governing intellectual property are a little too arcane and insufficiently populist for you to really have spent much time on. We’re writing because we think an actual lawmaker should be making laws not breaking laws, especially those embodied in the constitution by the founding fathers.”

The letter concludes by demanding that Greene comply and respond by January 11, 2023, at 5:00 pm EST.

Twitter has since blocked Greene’s post due to a copyright strike.

A spokesperson for Greene responded to Dre’s letter in a statement on Monday. They said: “While I appreciate the creative chord progression, I would never play your words of violence against women and police officers, and your glorification of the thug life and drugs.”

Numerous other artists have made headlines for voicing their displeasure with their music being used by politicians in recent years. Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, R.E.M., and more all complained about Donald Trump using their music for his presidential campaigns.
