BlocBoy JB Gets Arrested After Allegedly Falling Asleep Behind The Wheel In Memphis

According to AllHipHop, BlocBoy JB found himself at odds with the law earlier this week when he was arrested in Memphis. Reportedly, the Tennessee Highway Patrol noticed his car sitting still at an intersection for two cycles of red lights. Allegedly, the artist had fallen asleep behind the wheel, where officers found him with a loaded gun in his lap.

Allegedly, officers found 12.4 grams of marijuana in his vehicle in addition to the firearm. As a result, he’s been charged with alleged obstruction of a highway, driving while license revoked, unlawful possession of a weapon as a convicted felon, and simple possession of marijuana. In the past, his license was revoked for an alleged DUI.

The outlet reports that he was taken to Shelby County Jail yesterday (October 1), and posted a $7,500 bond today. He’s scheduled to appear in court on October 3. Fans haven’t heard from BlocBoy JB since his arrest, which comes after he defended Memphis Grizzlies player Ja Morant following his gun-flashing incident. He argued that guns aren’t always illegal and that the athlete should be able to spend his time off the court however he wants to.

“Guns are not illegal,” he wrote in May of last year. “If he turnt in his car with his gun dats in his name in his yard and somebody recorded him dat ain’t on him. Master P Explains How To Avoid Legal Scandals Like The Indictment Against Diddy

Some see this situation as a product of one man’s alleged behavior, others think that more famous people are involved, and a few believe that the nature of industry and power dynamics always keeps the root for this abhorrence alive. But some stars are making it clear that they did not give in, according to them. For example, Master P recently spoke to WGNO-TV / ABC26 / WNOL38 about how he avoided the path that Sean Combs allegedly went down.

“Because I realized I had the same friends I had when I started out,” Master P said of the Diddy scandal, positing that he eschewed clout-chasers during his rapid rise in favor of his circle before the fame. “I think a lot of these people don’t realize that a lot of these people want to be your friend once you make it. As far as other pop culture headlines this year, Master P also chimed into the discussion around his home city of New Orleans’ Super Bowl next year. “Salute to Kendrick Lamar for performing at the halftime show at Super Bowl LIX.. well deserved,” he shared on IG. “He’s one of the hottest music artists in the world and has one of the biggest songs right now. As Ambassador of Entertainment in the City of New Orleans I have to agree with the fans that Lil Wayne should be a part of this celebration as well. Pras Requests Sentencing Hearing In Foreign Conspiracy Case

In April of last year, Pras was found guilty of ten charges related to an alleged international conspiracy to help Malaysian businessman Jho Low and the Chinese government gain access to United States officials. He faces up to 20 years in prison for alleged conspiracy to defraud the US, witness tampering, and acting as an unregistered agent of a foreign government. Now, according to new legal documents obtained by AllHipHop, he’s made a request for a sentencing hearing.

Reportedly, Pras and his legal team have proposed a December 20 deadline for a Memorandum in Aid of Sentencing. This is a document written by a defense attorney to convince a judge to give their client the lowest possible sentence. They also ask that the sentencing hearing itself take place on January 10, 13, or 14 of 2025.

Pras’ latest request comes just weeks after he was denied a retrial. He’d previously accused his attorney of using generative AI for his closing arguments, resulting in several errors. The program attributed some of Diddy’s song lyrics to Pras, for example, among other mistakes. U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly argued that Pras failed to show how this could have impacted the outcome of the trial. “Notably, the content derived from the AI program did not relate to any evidence in the case, only general sympathetic statements and one lyrical quote,” Kollar-Kotelly said.

The request also follows Lauryn Hill’s last-minute Fugees North American tour cancelation. She attributed this to false narratives created by the media. Blueface has been through quite a bit on the legal front in recent months. At the beginning of the year, the “Thotiana” rapper turned himself in for an alleged probation violation. He’s been behind bars since and was handed a four-year prison sentence in August. Despite the lengthy sentence, he expects to be home sometime next year, though only time will determine what will actually happen in his case.

Despite his incarceration, Blueface appears to be in good spirits, based on some new photos shared on his Instagram page today. They appear to have been taken during a prison call, which would explain the blurriness, though this is unconfirmed. For now, it’s unclear who he could have been speaking with, but they obviously had him in a good mood based on his smile. “Am I missing out or y’all missing me ?” the caption reads.

According to him, the rapper had shown him a $1M wire from Rolling Loud for one performance when they met for an interview in 2021. Young Thug also showed up with huge crew, prompting Wallo to impart some of his wisdom.

Wallo recalled considering the cost of all of the plane tickets, hotels, gear, meals, and more for everyone there.
