Kodak Black Delivers Fourth Child, Welcomes Baby With Maranda Johnson

Although there are plenty of issues arising in Kodak Black’s world on a regular, family remains a consistent force in his day-to-day life. The rapper already has three kids, a baby boy, and two daughters. However, it appears that his family is expanding. His girlfriend, Maranda Johnson, shares on social media that she gave birth to a baby boy on February 27th, 2024. “2/27 a prince was born,” she wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. Later, she revealed that the midwife allowed Kodak Black to deliver the baby himself. “Aww he came home right in time and it’s a boy,” the midwife later tweeted.

Though this is Kodak Black’s fourth child, his baby boy is the second that he shares with his girlfriend Maranda Johnson, whom he previously referred to as his fiance when they announced their pregnancy. The two also share a two-year-old daughter named Queen Yuri. Moreover, the rapper has two kids from previous relationships including his 8-year-old, King Khalid, and his one-year-old named Izzabella. Clearly, Yak’s enjoying his role as a family man and balancing his duties with his responsibilities as an artist.

It’s great news for Kodak Black, who has been dealing with his own set of hardships in recent weeks. The rapper was recently released from jail after police arrested him on charges of evidence tampering, drug possession, and improper parking. However, the rapper got the drug charges dismissed once he pleaded guilty to a count of parole violation. Needless to say, his release came at an incredible time, allowing the rapper to be present at the time of his son’s birth.

As the news of his arrest emerged, police claimed that he had cocaine on him at the time, though the rapper refuted these claims. “I was on the lean, homie. I was asleep in front of my family house, bro. That’s it. That ain’t illegal,“ he said. “Come on, fam. Hell f*ck no, bruh. Hell nah. And I ain’t finna say I’m against muthaf**kas who do coke. Kodak Black Was Released From Jail And Celebrated By Throwing Rocks At A Reporter

In early December, Kodak Black was arrested for suspected cocaine possession — his latest in a long line of run-ins with the law that led to an extended stay in a detention facility. Today, though, the Associated Press reports that Kodak — whose real name is Bill Kapri — was released from jail after a judge ruled in his favor when the substance found by police was confirmed to be oxycodone, for which Kodak had a prescription.

Police in Plantation, Florida arrested Kodak after finding him asleep in a vehicle with white power on his face. Prosecutors said it initially tested positive for cocaine, and the arrest was considered a violation of Kodak’s existing probation agreement from a prior conviction for illegal weapons possession. Broward County Circuit Judge Barbara Duffy dismissed the cocaine possession charge about two weeks ago, and on Tuesday, sentenced Kodak to time served for the probation violation, making him eligible for release. Kodak still awaits trial for a separate drug case from 2022 in which he’s accused of trafficking more oxycodone pills. His lawyers maintain the drugs were prescribed for personal use.

According to Billboard, Kodak’s first actions upon leaving Broward County jail included throwing rocks at a photographer. A Local 10 News team on site reported that Kodak accosted them, threatening to punch a reporter and throwing rocks at the photographer, hitting him in the ribs. They later filed a police report.

Before former U.S. President Donald Trump left the White House in 2020, one of the last official moves he made was pardoning Back For Everything rapper Kodak Black. Hip-hop heads were somewhat shocked by this decision. They’ve been even more surprised to see how recklessly the Florida native has moved at times since. He’s been arrested for things like drug possession and trespassing in recent years. The former unfortunately landed him behind bars before 2023 came to a close. At the time, Yak was accused of having cocaine on his person. Thanks to attorney Bradford Cohen’s tireless work, the judge agreed that it was Oxycodone – a medication that the rhymer has a prescription for.

After the charges were dropped Black still wasn’t immediately released. On Wednesday (February 21), cameras caught footage of the controversial entertainer on his way home. Yak eager to reconnect with his loved ones and get back to business as usual in the studio. Elsewhere, he’s also expecting his fourth child to arrive later this week. Baby mama Maranda Johnson, who the “Love & War” artist already shares a two-year-old daughter with, has been holding it down in his absence, and her Instagram is full of stunning maternity photos pleading with authorities to free her baby daddy.

As XXL notes, Cohen spoke about his famous client’s release in a statement on social media yesterday. “In [typical] Kodak fashion, he just pledged to donate to the college fund of a 2-year-old and a 5-month-old, whose father was a Minnesota officer killed recently in the line of duty,” the attorney praised Yak. “Expecting his 2nd son this Friday, he knows how important family is and hopes it helps relieve some burden.” Besides the unborn addition to his family with Johnson, Black already has two other children.

Kodak Black’s supporters are happy to see him embracing life as a free man again. Still, the rapper was less than pleased with the number of people watching him leave prison after successfully having his drug possession charges thrown out. Well, he might have another signature moment on his latest single “Shampoo.” This Kodak track is quite the contrast in tone and sound compared to his previous single “11am In Malibu.” It saw him rap over Drake’s “8am in Charlotte” beat from For All The Dogs and diss Boosie Badazz. It was one of his best outings and it shows that Kodak is more than a mumble rapper to those who are in that camp.

It is always cool when talents from different countries bring their respective approaches to a track. Almost always, it leads to bangers, or something new and refreshing. Today it is the first of those two outcomes. The artists that have joined forces this time around are British rap duo D-Block Europe and Florida’s Kodak Black.

The name of the track is “Still Play Valorant” and this is not a single. Rather, it is closer to the collective’s most recent full-length project, Rolling Stone. With all of the major releases this past weekend, it took some time to get to it. However, we are glad we are able to share it. One of the best parts of this cut is the production hands down.
