Hit-Boy Shares Wild Kanye West AI Version Of “2 Certified” From “SURF OR DROWN” Album

Thanks to the ever-increasing powers of artificial intelligence, music lovers will no longer have to imagine what their favourite artist would sound like singing a song outside of their discography. Instead, computers are becoming able to mimic the vocals of some of the industry’s biggest names and use them to recreate other popular tracks. While the technology obviously isn’t widely available at this time, Hit-Boy was able to use it on Monday (April 10) to create a Kanye West AI version of his and Avelino’s “2 Certified” collaboration.

The catchy song arrived on last month’s SURF OR DROWN, which finds the producer also wearing his rapper hat. Besides his foreign guest feature, Hit-Boy also tapped names like Nas, Dom Kennedy, Curren$y, Jay 305, and more to work with him on the 11-track effort. Now that it’s had some time to digest with fans, the multi-talent put a twist on one of our favourite titles. “AI is getting insane,” he declared via Instagram yesterday. “@kanyewest rapping ‘2 Certified’ sounds too [crazy] 🤯.” In the accompanying video, we see Hit-Boy sitting in the studio, nodding along as West’s computer-generated voice spits out the lyrics.

Hit-Boy Puts Ye’s Vocals on “2 Certified”

“I’ma need all the amenities / You made a lil’ pape, I went at their neck and made history / Dumbin’ out on my own beats / Hot like I threw ’em in grease,” he rhymes without missing a beat. “The one, not the two or the three / I’m watchin’ the numbers increase.” As the father of four raps “2 Certified,” Hit-Boy can be heard saying, “That shit is wild!” Elsewhere in the studio, others gave a similar reaction, obviously amazed by the technological process taking place in front of them.

In the original post’s comment section, viewers seem torn between begging for another collaboration between West and the producer and pointing out the realities of how chilling AI is becoming. “Dope but it’s scary times,” one person wrote. “AI too cold,” another chimed in. “Lol and all these [videos] making me want Kanye on so much more music😅.” Revisit the original cut of “2 Certified” featuring Avelino below, and tell us which version you prefer in the comments.

Kanye West “Freaknik” Video Resurfaces Online

A racy video allegedly showing Kanye West at a Freaknik event has resurfaced. Predictably, the NSFW clip has gone viral on social media. However, this is not the first time the video has circulated on the internet. The clip was first posted on Reddit back in 2021. The footage comes on the heels of Hulu’s announcement that it was working on a new Freaknik documentary. Indeed, the news of the documentary has caused much discourse online. Moreover, some commenters have worried that their own Freaknik escapades may be broadcasted in the project.

No Jumper tweeted the video on Monday. The video appears to show Kanye West at a twerk contest. Multiple women are shown in bikinis while surrounded by a crowd of people. Subsequently, West is seen filming multiple women from behind while they dance in front of him. Many Twitter users found West’s deadpan reaction while filming the women to be humorous. Meanwhile, others expressed a sense of nostalgia for a bygone era.

Kanye West May Not Have Been At Freaknik After All

Elsewhere, a small number of commenters have challenged the video’s veracity. The person in the clip is obviously Kanye. However, some internet sleuths have questioned if the event was indeed Freaknik. Online detectives have pointed out that the original Freaknik was shut down in 1999. In the clip, Kanye West is wearing the same polo and jeans combo he made iconic during the College Dropout years. Moreover, the men around West are wearing tall tees and baggy shorts. Indeed, the fashion trends seem to be more aligned with the early 00s than the late 90s. Additionally, the kind of cell phone West is filming with was not widely available at the time. Subsequently, some Twitter users have speculated that the video actually comes from a later event at Texas Kappa Beach.

Wherever the video was filmed, it has certainly caused a stir online. The announcement of the new Freaknik has created a renewed interest in the 90s staple. Although Hulu hasn’t announced when the documentary will be released, multiple think pieces have already been written up. It speaks to the event’s impact that it can still capture the imagination all these years later.

Kanye’s Donda Academy Sued: What We Know

Most students of Kanye West’s Donda Academy are rumored to be children of the rich and famous. Since its existence, the institution has fit into the definition of “clandestine.” Secrecy strategies and NDAs have caged public details about its operations. Lawsuits, however, always divulge the unspeakable. As we know, the school’s future, from here on out, is shaky due to a legal war. The school’s former teachers spearhead this fight: Cecilia Hailey and Chekarey Byers.

Donda Academy Creates Concern

It is not easy to wage war against a celebrity. Often, people mistake your actions as attempts to cancel them. Conspicuously, Hailey and Byers are willing to brave it; plus, they come across as passionate ‘right-thing-oriented’ women. Though overly soaked in absurd sentiment, Kanye’s angle might not be hopelessly condemnable. His root incentives are genuine, but are his approaches? He created the academy for a range of pupils, from pre-kindergarten until the twelfth grade. This “academy” he launched was one of overflowing curiosity. Insider reported that between January 2022 and November 2022, 19,155 emails about Donda Academy bombarded LAPD records.

The school is no stranger to harsh (or blunt?) criticism, starting from its “unaccredited” qualifier. Ye, who we once knew as Kanye, established this highly-subjective institution in 2022. Seldom do we see a school whose dress code is black. Not even an extremely conservative academy would call for that stark genericness. Though boasting of a 10:1 ratio of students to teachers, it doesn’t have Ye’s kids as regular enrollees.

Additionally, Donda Academy’s curriculum was effortfully unique. It encapsulated Christianity, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and “Enrichment Courses.” There was reportedly also Visual Arts, Film, Choir, and Parkour. We would instinctively envision paradise, but hold on. We first need to hear from the mother and daughter who recently filed a lawsuit against Ye’s matriarch-commemorating phenomenon.

Donda Academy Sued

The two have had a lot of disturbing details to share. The first tier of their allegations centered around their exclusion from the academy. The second comprised uncanny breaches of health, safety, and learning regulations. In the lawsuits, plaintiffs stated they were the only teachers who were Black women. They also stated that they had experienced pay cutbacks based on racial identity and outspokenness. Hailey complained that she was hardly ever silent about her unfavorable take on the school’s policies. Allegedly, she was even “threatened not to reach out to him,” with “him” being Ye West, the founder himself. It finally escalated into a surprise termination one morning at the parking lot.

The Los Angeles Times particularly recounted Hailey’s firm belief that she and her mother were never alone in this. Hailey hypothesized that the others were too scared to lose money, privileges, or jobs. She concluded by crediting her passion for kids and education as her motivation for speaking up. Getting into a breakdown of some of these breaches is crucial; hence, we investigate further. “They definitely wanted to suppress a lot of information in reference to history,” Hailey lamented. The curriculum also reportedly omitted the Holocaust and many other atrocities against marginalized groups.

Donda Academy: More Allegations

It would appear that the Donda Academy curriculum was perhaps the least of all concerns. The pragmatic school conditions were seemingly too unsettling for Hailey and Byers to turn a blind eye to. Teachers were more or less free to stroll in with neither first-aid nor mandated child-abuse reporter training. The school allegedly forbade using cleaning chemicals, befitting trash cans, and janitorial services in general. There were also complaints about an absence of a school nurse, medical supplies, and proper medication storage. Even the plaintiffs exposed one scenario where the school stowed an allergic student’s EpiPen above a microwave. Further, the women revealed that cups and bowls were compulsorily gray.

The allegations expanded into issues as severe as the alleged acceptance of bullying and allowing strangers to pick up students. The women stood against the school’s lunch culture as well. The complaint documented how West would lavish $10,000 a week on his unswerving Sushi rule. Moreover, the school reportedly mandated teachers to restrict classes to the first floor due to West’s stairs phobia. Aside from being sentenced to a permanent Sushi menu, students reportedly had to eat on the floor. The women described how the school outlawed tables and chairs, crossword puzzles, and other helpful materials. West has not commented on the lawsuit at the time of this publication. However, we never know when he’ll rear his outspoken head.

Drake Fans Think He’s Trolling Kanye West With “Search & Rescue” Cover

We thought that the long-standing feud between Drake and Kanye West ended when they joined forces for the Free Larry Hoover benefit concert. Though the two were all smiles, walking down the Los Angeles Coliseum together, it seems to be all show. The Take Care rapper seemingly took shots at Ye on Her Loss record, “Circo Loco,” where he suggested that he only patched things up with the Chicago rapper because of J Prince. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the only shot he took at Ye recently.

Last week, The Boy debuted his single, “Search & Rescue” which earned praise from his fans, though there was also a bit of controversy that followed. During the song, he samples a conversation between Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner discussing the SKIMS founder’s divorce from Kanye West. That alone left fans with the impression that Drizzy was trolling his nemesis, though Dennis Graham, the Canadian rapper’s dad, insisted that wasn’t the case. “Drake is not trolling anyone, it’s just a song. Why try and create a Kanye and Drake beef again?” Graham wrote.

Is Kim Kardashian On Drake’s “Search & Rescue” Artwork?

Something seemed familiar when Drizzy shared the artwork for “Search & Rescue.” The cover art includes a photo of the rapper and a woman wearing motorcycle helmets. However, the individual that isn’t Drake bore similarities to Kim Kardashian. A few days after the song debuted on OVO Sound, Kim shared a selfie of herself in the helmet, and many felt that the cover art references the photo.

So far, Kim Kardashian, Kanye nor Drake have commented on the controversy surrounding the single. However, it seems like it could be referenced in the next season of The Kardashians if anything. Still, Kanye previously said that he has no intentions of pursuing the feud any further. After appearing on podcasts and interviews praising the Toronto rapper, he said that he wasn’t going to breed any more issues. Will “Search & Rescue” change that? Who knows but people are certainly losing their minds over the cover art. Check a few reactions below and let us know your thoughts on Drake’s latest single in the comments.

What Does Kim Kardashian Say About Kanye West On Drake’s ‘Search & Rescue’?

It’s officially New Music Friday, and of the slew of new tracks that dropped at midnight, what has so far stood out the most is Drake’s new one, “Search & Rescue.” The track has actually been making headlines for a few days now, when Drake previewed it and revealed it featured a sample of Kim Kardashian talking about her and Kanye West’s divorce.

What exactly does Kardashian say about Kanye West on Drake’s “Search & Rescue?”

The sample is of a conversation between Kardashian and Kris Jenner, from an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The exchange goes:

Kardashian: “I didn’t come this far just to come this far and not be happy.”
Jenner: “OK, that’s fair.”
Kardashian: “Remember that.”
Jenner: “You didn’t come this far just to come this far.”
Kardashian: “Yup. I saw it on the internet [laughs].”

Part of that conversation can be seen in this video:

In that same episode (but not on the Drake song), Kardashian also said:

“I just feel like I’ve worked so hard in life to achieve everything that I’ve wanted to, and I’ve lived up to my expectations and achieved ten times more than I even thought was humanly possible, but I don’t have a life to share that with. Like, I do — obviously my kids and everything — but am I just going to sit here and think, ‘OK, my kids fulfill me and I’m good?’

I never thought I was lonely. I always thought that’s totally fine: I could just have my kids, my husband moves from state to state, and I just am on this ride with him, and I was OK with that. And then after turning 40 this year, I realized, like, ‘No, I don’t want a husband that lives in a completely different state.’ To me, I thought, ‘Oh my god, that’s when we’re getting along the best,’ but then that is sad to me and that’s not what I want.”
