Lil Uzi Vert Supports JT On Her Therapy Journey

As hard as it may seem to believe at times, most celebrities truly are just like us. In fact, many of those in the limelight who struggle with mental health issues to begin with find their conditions only exacerbated by the constant pressure that comes along with their career. While some opt to keep their problems to themselves, others often use social media to share life updates and be vulnerable with their fans, simultaneously encouraging them to do the same. JT of City Girls fame did just that on Twitter, sharing some details about how she plans to improve her mental health in the coming months.

“Super excited about starting therapy,” she wrote in a tweet last Saturday (March 25). “I encourage you all to do the same🤞🏾!” the “Twerkulator” hitmaker added, making it abundantly clear that there’s no shame in talking to someone about your feelings. While JT didn’t explicitly share what she wants to get off her chest in any upcoming appointments, her life before fame came with plenty of rough moments that are likely still weighing on her. Additionally, her newfound place in the spotlight beside Yung Miami certainly comes with its own downsides for the partners in rhyme.

JT Confirms Her Plans for Therapy

After the 30-year-old shared her excitement about beginning her therapy adventure, countless followers showered her with praise. “It’s literally necessary for everybody, [I don’t know] why people be acting like they don’t need it,” one user pointed out in JT’s replies. Another person chimed in, “I already do, for two years now. It’s life-changing [for real] sis. I pray your experience is as well.” Aside from the fan love, the rap diva also has a strong support system in the form of her long-term partner, Lil Uzi Vert.

The Philadelphia native spoke with TMZ earlier this week, at which time they asked their thoughts on JT seeking mental health help. Uzi sounds to be in full support of their girlfriend and even noted that they’ll be in attendance at some sessions to help out and perhaps work through issues of their own. As for anyone else considering therapy? The “Just Wana Rock” hitmaker thinks there’s no time like the present to work on yourself. “You just gotta do it,” he advised anyone watching. “You just have to really embrace yourself and love yourself.” Check out everything LUV had to say in the video below and tap back in later for more pop culture news updates.

Lil Uzi Vert Shuts Down Rumors That He Worships Satan

Lil Uzi Vert finally addressed allegations that he worships the devil. Over the past week, the rapper faced scrutiny following the debut of a new song at Rolling Loud California where he raps, “I make a City Girl believe in Satan.” Though it wasn’t the first time Uzi mentioned the devil in his music, it sparked an enormous amount of backlash to the point where a pastor denounced the rapper during a sermon. The pastor not only mentioned the lyric but other instances where Lil Uzi Vert mentioned the devil over the years.

This week, Uzi addressed the backlash during a recent run-in with TMZ. While he confirmed Pink Tape would arrive in the next few months and the previewed single would land on the tracklist, he explained what he meant when he rapped that he’d “make a City Girl believe in Satan.” “Not actually Satan but just basically, I make a girl do whatever I say so,” he said, revealing that JT “didn’t think too much of it.”

Lil Uzi Vert Says He Comes From A Religious Household

He said that she was in the studio when he recorded the record. In terms of the backlash itself, he said that he doesn’t pay much attention to it. “I just say whatever I want in my songs. It’s just like my freedom of speech,” he said. “I come from a real religious household but I just like, me finding living my life and being, like, I guess ‘an adult,’ I kind of just say, you know, anything I want to say. Even if I offend people, I don’t mean to offend people but if they don’t like it, they have the option to turn it off.” When asked if he actually believes in the devil, Lil Uzi Vert directly answered, “No” with a grin on his face.

Uzi’s lyrics spurred responses from Summer Walker and Tony Yayo, who both criticized the Philadelphia rapper for promoting the devil. Walker wondered whether Uzi actually encountered a demon in his life. “i be genuinely curious have these people ever seen or heard a demon before…Or it’s just trend [sic] cause I feel like if you have you’d stop playing..really nothing funny or cute about it,” she said on Instagram. City Girls’ Awkward Rolling Loud Interview Makes Rounds Online: “JT’s Face Says It All”

If you didn’t catch the City Girls’ set at Rolling Loud California this past weekend, you definitely missed out. Both JT and Yung Miami were looking “real bad,” wearing coordinated blue and yellow feather-clad bodysuits that markedly left their busts on display. Besides looking good, the rap divas were sounding good too, performing some of their old fan favourites, as well as previewing new music that’s coming, hopefully, soon.

During their roughly 30 minutes on stage, the “Twerkulator” hitmakers previewed “Piñata,” a bass-heavy track that’s sure to sound great in the clubs this summer. It remains unclear exactly when the City Girls will be releasing the song, but fans are undeniably hungry for a follow-up to July 2022’s “Good Love” featuring Usher. While attending an event for Netflix’sYou People earlier this year, Yung Miami confirmed that the warmer seasons will likely see a return from her and JT this year.

New Music from City Girls OTW

The duo’s last project, City On Lock landed in 2020, boasting tracks like “P*ssy Talk” and “Jobs.” Caresha and Jatavia also lined up a strong roster of guest features, including Yo Gotti, Doja Cat, Lil Durk, and Lil Baby. Here’s hoping that their next release yields just as many must-hear collaborations for fans of the City Girls.

Elsewhere at Rolling Loud, an awkward interview that the rap divas gave has been circulating online, with many chastising the journalist for her lack of professionalism. In the clip, she and Miami realize they know one another from a previous engagement, though neither of them seems prepared to explain what it was. While they uncomfortably chat in front of the camera, the look on JT’s face makes it clear that the vibes are weird for her too.

Rolling Loud Ridiculousness

“Did you know it’s the 50th day of hip-hop today?” she asks the partners in rhyme following the odd banter. “No,” Miami responds. “Me neither,” the journalist says with an obnoxious laugh. “They told me to talk about it.” As she and Caresha laugh, JT’s face becomes even more laughable as she tries to contain her annoyance. After hearing the media personality’s next question, however, all bets were off.

“When was the last time you let a broke dude hit?” she confidently asked the City Girls. “Never,” the podcast host immediately says with a straight face. “Probably like, 2014,” the “Ex For A Reason” artist said, side-eyeing the interviewer while speaking. Check out all the ridiculousness in the video above, and let us know what you thought of Rolling Loud California 2023 in the comments.

Lil Uzi Vert Says He Got JT To Believe In Satan In New Song

Hip-hop’s infatuation with demonic spirits isn’t something new but it seems as though artists like Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti are keeping that tradition alive. Many rappers have explored the evil forces in their music, whether it be Three 6 Mafia or Lil Nas X, who caused a storm after performing a lap dance on a Satanic figure. Some feel as though these individuals are pushing a devilish agenda, while others argue that it’s merely for the purpose of entertainment.

Artists like Lil Uzi Vert haven’t necessarily denied their alleged satan worshipping agenda. Uzi previously got into a back-and-forth with Offset about the use of the upside-down cross, which he felt was symbolic of the occult. “All y’all n***as wearing upside-down crosses, even my little partners, stop that shit,” Offset said. “You look lame. All that worship the devil shit. Get with God man.” It ultimately led to a back-and-forth involving XXXTENTACION and SahBabii. However, Lil Uzi Vert has largely died down on looking like an agent for the devil for more eccentric looks, like his fit at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards this past weekend.

Lil Uzi Vert’s Song Preview

It was a big weekend in California as Rolling Loud brought their three-day festivities to the West Coast. Throughout the weekend, fans were treated to some exciting performances from artists like Lil Wayne, Lil Baby, and Playboi Carti, though some felt as though the latter’s set was a bit too demonic. However, Lil Uzi Vert’s Sunday set had people talking, from his hairstyle for the evening, as well as the new records he previewed.

At one point, Uzi performed an unreleased cut that built fans’ excitement for his next release, Pink Tape. However, one bar, in particular, caught everyone off guard. At one point, he raps, “I make a City Girl believe in Satan,” which led to rumors that his girlfriend, JT, joined the occult. Paired with the “Throw up the Roc, ’cause that’s the nation,” bar, Uzi took many people back with the unreleased tune. At this point, Lil Uzi Vert hasn’t expounded on the bar, nor has JT addressed the matter but we’ll keep you posted if either comment on the record. Check out the song snippet above and let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.

Remy Ma Responds To Cardi B Trolling Nicki Minaj With Her Picture

Remy Ma somehow got dragged into Nicki Minaj and Cardi B’s Twitter spat last year. Though Nicki’s feud with both individuals is well-documented, it became clear that she and Cardi will likely never see eye-to-eye. In the midst of the Bronx rapper’s feud with City Girls rapper JT, Nicki switched her profile picture to the Miami rapper as a sign of solidarity. In response, Cardi B switched her profile picture to Remy Ma, who previously had issues with Nicki Minaj.

It was a petty move that found the “Up” rapper and the Young Money artist back at odds. However, things took another turn afterward when Nicki took a jab at Cardi’s pen game. Though it’s no secret that Cardi gets assistance with her raps, the “Do We Have A Problem?” rapper shared a photo of a neon “Nicki” sign with a pen held in front of her first “i.” However, Nicki has since changed her picture from JT’s image while Remy Ma remains Cardi B’s avi.

Remy Ma Responds

During her recent appearance on Jason Lee’s The Jason Lee Show, Remy Ma reflected on Cardi changing her profile picture in the midst of her feud with JT. Though Lee explained it was evident why Cardi chose her image, he stated that they’re all “so petty.” “I ain’t even do nothin’,” Remy replied before Lee suggested she caught a sub in the midst of the feud. “I ain’t catch a stray, hold up, be clear,” she replied. She added that she was at home, watching the whole thing unfold like the rest of us.

Remy Ma explained that she didn’t care about the whole incident, but apparently, there were some people in her fanbase that were aggravated by Cardi’s move. Remy explained that some people tried to reach out to Twitter with claims that Cardi was impersonating the “All The Way Up” rapper. Still, Remy said it’s all love since she and Cardi go back years. “I fuck with Cardi,” Remy said. “She from the Bronx.” Peep the clip above and sound off with your thoughts in the comment section below.

JT Boasts About Romance With Lil Uzi Vert: “He’s So Inspiring”

They’ve been hit with rumors that their relationship was struggling, but all is well between Lil Uzi Vert and JT. The pair has been going strong for some time, and although there have been moments when people suspected their romance ended, the couple always returns stronger than ever. In an interview with Angie Martinez, JT opened up about her relationship and boasted about her boyfriend.

“He’s a great man,” said the City Girls star. “No matter how the internet tries to paint Uzi. Uzi is a great man!” Martinez jumped in to pay the Philadelphia rapper praises, and JT couldn’t stop bragging about how good of a person he was. “He’s so inspiring. He go to work every night, he at work right now!”

JT joked that she would be asleep while Uzi’s grinding out in the studio. “I’m sleep all the time! But, I’m so fortunate and lucky to have somebody like him because he’s so inspiring,” she said. “No matter what he’s going through, he’s going to work. And when I see him in his bag, I be like, ‘I gotta get my bag because this n*gga is in his bag, and he’s not giving up. He’s coming back swinging every time.”

When they’re not paying one another compliments in interviews, you can find Uzi and JT showing their love online. Celebratory moments like anniversaries, birthdays, and holidays often come with luxury gifts. The couple has given one another cars, cash, and clothes—proving that the price tag doesn’t matter in true love. Martinez noted that it must be “so nice” for Uzi to hear JT share such kind words about him.

Jt quipped, “He don’t hear that every day.” The ladies laughed as JT added, “He hears it, majority.” When Angie said Uzi also showed his affections publicly, JT replied that “he’s actually kinda shy.” The Florida rapper also shared that Uzi’s “straight-faced” demeanor can be seen as “mean,” but in reality, he feels like he’s being put on the spot.

“We’re just two young artists in a house, trying to figure each other out,” JT said elsewhere. Uzi reassures her that his love for her is genuine and goes beyond industry accomplishments. Check out the clip of the interview above.

JT Explains Purse Snatching Incident At Paris Fashion Week Runway Show

As fashion week stylishly wages on over in Paris, the celebrities and their antics continue to make headlines worldwide. Most recently, it was the Mugler runway show that got people talking – but not specifically because of the clothes.

Rather, it was an incident between City Girl JT and one of the famous models that has been circulating online. In the clip, Venezuelan singer Arca confidently struts down the runway in a barely-there little black dress. When she sees the rap diva, seated alongside names like Christine Quinn and Charli XCX, she veers off course to grab her purse and a brief struggle ensues.

JT fought back a bit, but wasn’t anything like her usual feisty self in the situation, leading some viewers to believe the situation was a set-up. We now know they were right, as a video of the Florida native and foreign vocalist hugging afterward in Paris is making rounds now too.

Arca reposted the viral moment on her Instagram Story. “@thegirljt, thank you for being up for the mischief and playfulness part of the show,” she praised the 30-year-old. “You’re so beautiful it’s insane!”

Afterward, the “Ex For A Reason” artist put the same clip on her page. She added a message to the top of the screen, explaining what happened to curious followers. “So fun. I was so nervous and was scared I was gonna look obvious. Obviously not ’cause they think it’s real hehe. Good job,” she praised her new friend.

This season’s Paris Fashion Week has been making plenty of headlines. From Doja Cat’s undeniably eccentric outfits to Kylie Jenner donning a realistic lion’s head while sitting front row at Schiaparelli, the eye candy is endless.

Aside from that bold look, the mother of two is also facing backlash for sporting Givenchy’s infamous noose necklace to their runway earlier this week. Read some of the criticism she’s facing here, and check back later for more pop culture updates.

City Girls’ JT Would Stay With Lil Uzi Vert If He Ever Went To Jail

City Girls’ JT and Lil Uzi Vert have been dating for quite a while, and the Miami rapper recently confirmed she’s willing to wait for her beau if things went south. During a recent conversation with Raymonte, he asked JT if she would still be with Uzi if they went to jail for ten years.

“Um…10 years. Yeah. 10 years not really that long. I did 15 [months].” JT said, laughing and jokingly referencing her own time in prison. “You want some drama.”

The couple has been together since 2019.

“I love you uzi,” JT wrote for Uzi’s birthday back in July. “I’m crying making this post because you are literally a dream come true! I feel like with everything I been through in life you are one of my greatest rewards! I wake up every day to either your frown or smile …either works for me, as long as you’re right there.

Uzi has returned the sentiment toward JT. They opened up in a 2021 interview with W Magazine. “She keeps me calm and balances me. Album-wise, she keeps me not saying too much.”

Most recently, JT and Uzi celebrated the holidays together in an extravagant way. The rapper bought JT an expensive gold watch, which she captioned “Thank you santa vert.”

It’s clear the bond between the two musicians is super strong — and will last, even if Uzi doesn’t make bond.

Lil Uzi Vert is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
