Drake Astoundingly Receives Praise From Joe Budden In Shocking Turn Of Events

Yesterday, there was a potential theory that DJ Akademiks was entertaining in regard to Drake dropping music at a certain time. The hip-hop pundit recalled past conversations with Joe Budden about how the latter felt that Drake was purposely dropping tracks after the podcaster would record his episodes, that way he would react to them late. Budden recognized this pattern during the heat of the Kendrick Lamar beef, and at first, Akademiks was quick to dismiss it. However, after letting it marinate and noticing when Drake put out his most recent 100gigs.org three-pack, he’s now fully of that same belief.

In our report, we noted that we were curious to see what Joe Budden would have to say, given what we just outlined. Would he address this trend he feels is real? Was he going to rip the songs to shreds even more so because of that? Well, with the second weekly episode of The Joe Budden Podcast now up today, according to a tweet from joebuddenclips, we have our answer.

Joe Budden Says This Is His Favorite Three-Pack From Drake

In a major plot twist, the controversial host actually had the complete opposite reaction to “Supersoak (SOD)”, “No Face”, and “Circadian Rhythm”. While reacting to the former of the trio, Budden was visibly enjoying the track and saying that this three-pack is his favorite out of the two. Later into the panel’s conversation, he says that he also thinks that “he’s doing a decent job now in post battle recovery”. However, in that same breath, Budden just wants Drake to be with his team and his team only and just go to work on slowly returning to form. Additionally, he’s not really hoping that Drake and Kendrick start “game 2”, but he’s going to have a “front-row seat” if it does go down to no one’s surprise.

What are your thoughts on Joe Budden giving Drake praise for his newest trio of tracks? Do you think he’s trying get in Drizzy’s good graces, why or why not? What do foresee happening next between The Boy and Kendrick Lamar? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Druski & Joe Budden Share A Cringe-Worthy Chest Bump In New Commercial: Watch

Druski and Joe Budden are in somewhat different industries and really don’t have any history together. However, they are now connecting for a new commercial. According to a tweet from a user who goes by SOUND, the comedian and rapper turned podcaster are essentially brand ambassadors for PrizePicks. If you don’t know, it’s a daily fantasy sports app/website that allows people to place prop bets on professional and college athletes from numerous leagues. However, you aren’t competing against other players, just the stats. If you pick the correct over or under for an individual’s numbers, then you win money. In the 30-second commercial, both Budden and Druski are trying to decide who they want to place bets on.

Ultimately, they go on to make the correct picks –with help from Joe– and they celebrate by chest bumping each other at the party later on. It’s both funny and cringe-worthy in the best way possible. According to Vibe, newcomer to the brand, Joe Budden, expressed his excitement about working with PrizePicks moving forward. “PrizePicks is fun, fresh, simple to use, and most importantly for me, not afraid to take risks. Nothing about PrizePicks feels like the old guard being run by old rules, they’re truly a great organization that isn’t afraid to embrace creativity and that’s paramount to me”.

Who Had A Druski & Joe Budden Commercial On Their Bingo Card?

For Druski, he’s the “veteran”. He recently signed a partnership deal with the betting company which will include him putting together “social skits, an original short-form series for YouTube, and a co-branded line of exclusive merchandise”. “I’m fired up to work with PrizePicks, we’ve done some cool stuff over the years and I’m excited to keep it coming”, Druski said. If you had this happening on your 2024 bingo card, then we salute you.

What are your thoughts on Joe Budden and Druski being in the newest PrizePicks commercial together? Is their moment on-screen cringey or funny? Drake’s Latest Joe Budden Trolling Tactic Is His Pettiest Move Yet

It seems that there is more than meets the eye when it comes to Drake’s music release schedule. According to a repost on X from Toronto hip-hop outlet keep6ixsolid, DJ Akademiks was on yet another live stream as he usually is. He appears to be talking fans or even some friends and their conversation is centering around Drizzy’s most recent trio of tracks from his IG burner account and his 100gigs.org site. He dropped “No Face” featuring Playboi Carti, “Circadian Rhythm”, and “Supersoak (SOD)” minus Lil Yachty last Friday, August 23. Obviously, the final day of the work week is when artists release new music. However, given that Drake put out these songs in the middle of the afternoon, Akademiks feels this has something to do with Joe Budden.

Almost every follower of hip-hop knows that The Boy and the podcast host have quite a bit of disdain for one another. That was especially true on the part of Joe Budden because he dragged Drake multiple times during the Kendrick Lamar beef whenever he dropped a new diss track in time for him to rip it apart. Because of this, Drake’s number one fan/reporter firmly believes that it could be a real possibility that he would do this so The Joe Budden Podcast couldn’t discuss the new Drizzy records that same day. Akademiks admits he doesn’t want to come to grips with it. But after talking with his fellow controversial contemporary during the Drake and Kendrick beef about this idea, he’s entertaining it.

DJ Akademiks Is Entertaining This Drake/Joe Budden Theory

Ak even noticed how he was the only major show/podcast talking about the new Drake drops because others were gone for the weekend. He reveals that Joe records his first episode on Friday around 3 p.m. local time for them to be put up on Saturdays. Then, Ak shares that we don’t a second recording until Wednesday. So, with all of that in mind, it’s going to be quite interesting to see if Budden talks about Drake and his alleged scheme in the next podcast.

What are your thoughts on DJ Akademiks believing that Drake is dropping after Joe Budden records his podcast episode? Do you think he would actually do this, why or why not? Will Budden address this topic on the next episode? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Drake, Joe Budden, and DJ Akademiks. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.

Joe Budden Dubs Yung Miami ‘Worst Female Rapper’ After She Laughs at His “Pump It Up” Plaque

Joe Budden Reacts to Logic’s “It Was a Good Day” Cover

Joe Budden had time. On a recent episode of his podcast, LL COOL J dropped off Budden’s gold plaque for his hit single “Pump It Up.” Seeing the moment, Yung Miami had some jokes to crack. You can see them below.

Returning to the pod, Budden had some smoke, dubbing her “the worst female rapper” in the world right now.

“The thing about laughter, I think that she will soon realize is, it’s also a luxury,” Budden said. “So while I’m happy Caresha is able to laugh because she’s had a stressful year, I am a little surprised that she has found enough time to laugh at anything.

“I want to keep this professional and on the music. If Complex were to do a list of where all the female rappers rat, Caresha, you would be last on the list. You would be drop dead last on that list. Every female out there is wiping you down right now.

“Caresha, may you not only be dropped from your label right now, but you are not allowed to put music out. There is nothing happening.”

You can hear his calm read below.

Joe Budden Wants Dr Umar To Explain His Criticism Of Hip-Hop In The Black Community

Dr. Umar Johnson dished out yet another controversial take on the Hustle Over Everything podcast, questioning what good hip-hop has done for the Black community. “I’m talking about both,” he answered when asked by Mouse Jones whether his disappointment in rap music is about its culture or its industry. “You’re still selling death and destruction to my kids while your kids are going to $30,000-a-year privileged white schools. That’s what you call a traitor. The hip-hop community has betrayed Black America. […] It ain’t did s**t in 50 years for the community. It made individuals rich and it’s it. And it gave out a couple of jobs. So did the drug dealer.”

The Joe Budden Podcast discussed this take, in which Dr. Umar posited that education should’ve been a stronger institution that hip-hop culture should’ve created, citing Jay-Z as an example of a success story that owes something to the Black community. Johnson and Jones agreed that the rap community needs accountability and more #MeToo-like initiatives. Moving on to the Slaughterhouse MC’s pod’ though, the cohosts argued that hip-hop can sometimes – but not always – promote street life that Black folks engage in out of necessity and survival. However, they don’t think that hip-hop caused this systemic cycle, hinting at a larger oppressive system that rap music did not create.

The Joe Budden Podcast‘s Takes On Dr. Umar’s Dismissal Of Hip-Hop In The Black Community

“And I want to make it perfectly clear that we’re using the word or the words ‘hip-hop,’” Joe Budden remarked. “I’m not certain, again, that he is referring to the culture of hip-hop. When he is saying ‘hip-hop,’ he is talking to the music and entertainment business that is controlled by Jewish people [an often bigoted insinuation that Budden doesn’t seem to endorse, but is assuming Dr. Umar’s intention with]. It would be tough for him to have that conversation with me as somebody who hip-hop saved my life. Like, he maybe can talk like that to Mouse Jones. He can’t say that to me.”

Elsewhere, The Joe Budden Podcast‘s cohosts spoke on how hip-hop as a whole provides employment for struggling families, and seemingly didn’t catch Dr. Umar’s statement that his take is about both the culture and the industry. The titular host specifically used the controversial of Russell Simmons saying that he’s been here too long and helped too many people to be “canceled.” “Like, we’re talking about over 50 years of people helping people,” Budden expressed. “My other problem with Dr. Umar is [that] he came right up here and said part of our problem is we want to do it for us and we’re not selfless enough to do it for the generations to come. He came in here and said that. I remember. It stuck out like a f***ing sore thumb. I’ll give him this: music – not the music business – but music is many kids’ way through life.”

The Joe Budden Podcast Credits Dipset With Putting Lil Wayne On, But Some Fans Disagree

As usual, The Joe Budden Podcast came through with a spicy take recently that got hip-hop fans into a strong debate. Moreover, the cohosts seemed to refer to how some Southern scenes, including Atlanta and others, only got popular due to New York co-signing them and letting them in on the fun. They brought up a couple of examples, such as Jeezy and Fabolous, but the most controversial point was that Dipset (also known as The Diplomats) were the ones who broke Lil Wayne into the rap game. However, Budden was quick to note that he has all the respect in the world for Atlanta, and seemed to acknowledge that this commentary is something that fans could easily mischaracterize.

Well, he wasn’t wrong… Or perhaps more accurately, folks still disagreed with the core of his and his cohosts’ actual argument. Debate quickly ensued in the replies, and went in all sorts of directions. But this is a sentiment that even Dipset themselves, namely its member Jim Jones, would definitely agree with. He claimed that Lil Wayne took inspiration from The Diplomats’ style after spending a summer with them.

The Joe Budden Podcast Thinks Dipset Broke Lil Wayne

But even though this debate around how Lil Wayne became a superstar brings regional debates into the fold, the core of his Cash Money family still rides behind him. “I been with him, that’s my dude,” Juvenile said while calling Weezy the best rapper of all time during his Breakfast Club interview alongside Mannie Fresh. “I saw the whole process of him, just seeing the whole development of Wayne and where he’s at right now.” It would be interesting to hear Tunechi’s take on all this, considering that he would definitely show love to both groups for very different reasons. Check out reactions to The Joe Budden Podcast‘s take down below.

Meanwhile, in other Lil Wayne news, he recently sought to dismiss an assault lawsuit against him from his former bodyguard. As for Dipset, their impact on the game should never meet disrespect, even if the specific details of its extent can cause debates like these. Perhaps the next episode of The Joe Budden Podcast will explain their take more clearly. But either way, Cash Money and The Diplomats have plenty of reason to admire each other.

DJ Akademiks Eviscerates Yung Miami For Making Fun Of Joe Budden’s Gold Plaque

DJ Akademiks had some strong words for Yung Miami following her viral clowning of Joe Budden’s “Pump It Up” going Gold two decades after its release. Moreover, the streamer took issue with her laughter, saying that Budden has benefitted more from his career than she ever will from her own. Also, Ak posited that the former City Girl doesn’t even write any of her own lyrics, and that she shouldn’t be making fun of artists like this. In addition, he also said that she isn’t getting support from her label and that people don’t want to write for her anymore.

Elsewhere, this is what DJ Akademiks said of Yung Miami’s alleged involvement in her former boo Diddy’s legal situation. “With all due respect, you are a pretty girl,” he posited on his livestream. “But there’s a lot of pretty girls. Beauty, especially seeing all these girls get lip fillers, they’re wearing fake hair. That ain’t their hair, right? They get some implants, they put their t***ies up to their neck.

DJ Akademiks Blasts Yung Miami For Ridiculing Joe Budden

“Like, it’s easy to create the idea of beauty that a man would be appealed by,” DJ Akademiks went on. “So what makes you special? Is it because you have some fame? No, Diddy’s messed with way more famous women than you. He had J. Lo, for God’s sakes. What makes you special? I’m going to tell you. If you disagree with me, it’s because you don’t know no n***as in the industry. Because I talk to these n***as. Like, what is it about this girl?

“You know what they say?” DJ Akademiks finalized. “A chick like Yung Miami… She do everything. Put it like this: self-respect is the kryptonite of rich n***as. Women: self-respect is the kryptonite of rich n***as. They don’t want to be around you when you’re saying, ‘Ah, I’m not doing that.’ The women who are in the game, they know this, too. If you want to get in the game, first, you got to hit that plateau of how good you look. Once you’re above the bar on how good you look, how far you go with these men in the industry will revolve around how little you say ‘No.’”

Yung Miami Laughs At Joe Budden’s “Pump It Up” Plaque And Prompts A Shady Response

Joe Budden recently received his official Gold plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for “Pump It Up.” His biggest commercial hit came out 21 years ago, and though it’s a late arrival, it’s a celebratory one nonetheless. However, this became an easy target for the Slaughterhouse MC’s haters, as many folks online made fun of this development. In fact, even Yung Miami (formerly of the City Girls) tweeted out some crying-laughing emojis in response to this. While it’s unclear whether she meant to disrespect him with this post, he certainly took it as such.

“It would be too easy…..” Joe Budden tweeted in response to Yung Miami’s laughter. “Maybe tmw lol…” he added in another tweet responding to a fan who asked him to let loose on her. For those unaware, Budden has been previously critical of Caresha in the public eye, such as commenting on her recent expressions concerning the Diddy scandal. Specifically, he thinks that he threw her City Girls partner JT under the bus with her comments and instead had sympathy for the disgraced hip-hop mogul despite his confirmed and alleged crimes.

Joe Budden’s Responses To Yung Miami

Of course, what Joe Budden is referring to with these tweets is that Yung Miami is no commercial juggernaut either, as evidenced by his thoughts on the City Girls’ very poor album sales last year. “I need to have that number confirmed,” he said on his podcast about their alleged 6K first week debut for RAW, which was actually 10K. Budden questioned this discrepancy, and wasn’t critical of the duo at all but rather of their label, the system that quantified these numbers, and their behind-the-scenes struggles. “It still sounds unbelievable to me. I’m with you as far as how they counted that. Maybe it’s the pure album sales. Somebody was trying to hurt them during their release.”

Meanwhile, speaking of record label and music business nonsense, Joe Budden also recently spoke on Drake’s licensing deal. He thinks that far too many people falsely believe that Drizzy has a lot of freedom in this UMG partnership. While those details and considerations are well beyond the scope of accessible information for most music listeners, that murky water is exactly what should inspire this skepticism. We’ll see if Joe has any more thoughts on his Gold plaque and on these conversations.

Drake Fans Troll Joe Budden After “Pump It Up” Goes Gold After 21 Years

Drake and Joe Budden have a love-and-hate relationship that has stemmed for many years. Overall, Budden is one of Drizzy’s biggest inspirations. If you listen to those early mixtapes, you can hear the Budden influence. When Joe disapproves of something Drizzy does, you can tell the Canadian megastar gets a bit hurt by it. Subsequently, this has led to a bit of a one-sided war between the two. While Joe was the one taking shots in 2016, the script has now flipped, as Budden is the mostly unbothered one.

Recently, Joe’s biggest song “Pump It Up” went gold. During his most recent podcast, Budden was gifted with a gold plaque for the track. This has led to discourse about the song’s impact and how it’s possible that it only went gold in 2024. One explanation is that it is up to the label to apply for RIAA certifications. Budden and Def Jam did not end their relationship on the best of terms, and it could have led to a bit of a delay in the proceedings.

Joe Budden Celebrates

Despite this valuable context, Drake fans decided to get their jokes off, regardless. In the replies to the DJ Akademiks tweet above, fans immediately roasted Budden for his achievement. Many noted that it would never take Drake 25 years for a song to go gold. Moreover, they made sure to get in as many one-hit-wonder jokes as humanly possible. It was all very cruel and ignores the fact that their favorite artist has been a Joe Budden Stan for ages.

Fans Express Surprise

Joe Budden Has A Strong Reaction To Tyler The Creator’s Alleged Criticism Of Ian

Tyler, The Creator’s recent interview with Maverick Carter stirred the pot, to say the least. His comments on an unnamed white rapper (perhaps a stand-in for many white artists) rubbed many fans the wrong way, especially fans of Ian. People thought that Tyler was talking about him when he spoke on white rappers mocking hip-hop, particularly the styles of MCs like Gucci Mane and Future. This is what led people to Ian, but the Hawthorne native never explicitly identified him in any way, so this is all pretty out of context. Nevertheless, The Joe Budden Podcast‘s thoughts on Tyler’s remarks are the same either way, and they discussed the implications of this conversation.

I don’t know who the f**k Ian is,” Joe Budden’s thoughts on the Tyler, The Creator debate began. “When I was younger, I used to shame my older cousins and uncles for not being so in tune with what was going on in hip-hop. They was old and washed. Now that I’m old and washed, I really appreciate not being in tune with whoever the f**k Ian is.

The Joe Budden Podcast Speaks On Tyler, The Creator & Ian

“You n***as got to do a little [more],” Joe Budden continued. “My famous people guard is up, y’all got to do a little more before I start running around saying ‘Ian.’ Who the f**k is Ian? Alright. Rest in peace Mac Miller, for sure, and couldn’t agree with him more on that point [about Mac and Eminem being more genuine]. I don’t know enough about Ian, but what I can say about Mac Miller, Russ, Eminem: they love this s**t. They live it. MC Shan produced “Informer”? I used to f**k with Snow before I knew race played such a huge factor in the country.”

Elsewhere, the podcast hosts also talked about trusted individuals in the industry pushing these white rappers and about the respectable tendency of some white MCs to not pretend like they’re a part of the culture. We know that Tyler, The Creator definitely struck a chord in Ian’s manager, who called him out amid all the speculation. Even if Ian wasn’t the intended target here, it’s no wonder why people pushed him to the forefront of the drama.
