The Joe Budden Podcast Credits Dipset With Putting Lil Wayne On, But Some Fans Disagree

As usual, The Joe Budden Podcast came through with a spicy take recently that got hip-hop fans into a strong debate. Moreover, the cohosts seemed to refer to how some Southern scenes, including Atlanta and others, only got popular due to New York co-signing them and letting them in on the fun. They brought up a couple of examples, such as Jeezy and Fabolous, but the most controversial point was that Dipset (also known as The Diplomats) were the ones who broke Lil Wayne into the rap game. However, Budden was quick to note that he has all the respect in the world for Atlanta, and seemed to acknowledge that this commentary is something that fans could easily mischaracterize.

Well, he wasn’t wrong… Or perhaps more accurately, folks still disagreed with the core of his and his cohosts’ actual argument. Debate quickly ensued in the replies, and went in all sorts of directions. But this is a sentiment that even Dipset themselves, namely its member Jim Jones, would definitely agree with. He claimed that Lil Wayne took inspiration from The Diplomats’ style after spending a summer with them.

The Joe Budden Podcast Thinks Dipset Broke Lil Wayne

But even though this debate around how Lil Wayne became a superstar brings regional debates into the fold, the core of his Cash Money family still rides behind him. “I been with him, that’s my dude,” Juvenile said while calling Weezy the best rapper of all time during his Breakfast Club interview alongside Mannie Fresh. “I saw the whole process of him, just seeing the whole development of Wayne and where he’s at right now.” It would be interesting to hear Tunechi’s take on all this, considering that he would definitely show love to both groups for very different reasons. Check out reactions to The Joe Budden Podcast‘s take down below.

Meanwhile, in other Lil Wayne news, he recently sought to dismiss an assault lawsuit against him from his former bodyguard. As for Dipset, their impact on the game should never meet disrespect, even if the specific details of its extent can cause debates like these. Perhaps the next episode of The Joe Budden Podcast will explain their take more clearly. But either way, Cash Money and The Diplomats have plenty of reason to admire each other.

DJ Akademiks Eviscerates Yung Miami For Making Fun Of Joe Budden’s Gold Plaque

DJ Akademiks had some strong words for Yung Miami following her viral clowning of Joe Budden’s “Pump It Up” going Gold two decades after its release. Moreover, the streamer took issue with her laughter, saying that Budden has benefitted more from his career than she ever will from her own. Also, Ak posited that the former City Girl doesn’t even write any of her own lyrics, and that she shouldn’t be making fun of artists like this. In addition, he also said that she isn’t getting support from her label and that people don’t want to write for her anymore.

Elsewhere, this is what DJ Akademiks said of Yung Miami’s alleged involvement in her former boo Diddy’s legal situation. “With all due respect, you are a pretty girl,” he posited on his livestream. “But there’s a lot of pretty girls. Beauty, especially seeing all these girls get lip fillers, they’re wearing fake hair. That ain’t their hair, right? They get some implants, they put their t***ies up to their neck.

DJ Akademiks Blasts Yung Miami For Ridiculing Joe Budden

“Like, it’s easy to create the idea of beauty that a man would be appealed by,” DJ Akademiks went on. “So what makes you special? Is it because you have some fame? No, Diddy’s messed with way more famous women than you. He had J. Lo, for God’s sakes. What makes you special? I’m going to tell you. If you disagree with me, it’s because you don’t know no n***as in the industry. Because I talk to these n***as. Like, what is it about this girl?

“You know what they say?” DJ Akademiks finalized. “A chick like Yung Miami… She do everything. Put it like this: self-respect is the kryptonite of rich n***as. Women: self-respect is the kryptonite of rich n***as. They don’t want to be around you when you’re saying, ‘Ah, I’m not doing that.’ The women who are in the game, they know this, too. If you want to get in the game, first, you got to hit that plateau of how good you look. Once you’re above the bar on how good you look, how far you go with these men in the industry will revolve around how little you say ‘No.’”

Yung Miami Laughs At Joe Budden’s “Pump It Up” Plaque And Prompts A Shady Response

Joe Budden recently received his official Gold plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for “Pump It Up.” His biggest commercial hit came out 21 years ago, and though it’s a late arrival, it’s a celebratory one nonetheless. However, this became an easy target for the Slaughterhouse MC’s haters, as many folks online made fun of this development. In fact, even Yung Miami (formerly of the City Girls) tweeted out some crying-laughing emojis in response to this. While it’s unclear whether she meant to disrespect him with this post, he certainly took it as such.

“It would be too easy…..” Joe Budden tweeted in response to Yung Miami’s laughter. “Maybe tmw lol…” he added in another tweet responding to a fan who asked him to let loose on her. For those unaware, Budden has been previously critical of Caresha in the public eye, such as commenting on her recent expressions concerning the Diddy scandal. Specifically, he thinks that he threw her City Girls partner JT under the bus with her comments and instead had sympathy for the disgraced hip-hop mogul despite his confirmed and alleged crimes.

Joe Budden’s Responses To Yung Miami

Of course, what Joe Budden is referring to with these tweets is that Yung Miami is no commercial juggernaut either, as evidenced by his thoughts on the City Girls’ very poor album sales last year. “I need to have that number confirmed,” he said on his podcast about their alleged 6K first week debut for RAW, which was actually 10K. Budden questioned this discrepancy, and wasn’t critical of the duo at all but rather of their label, the system that quantified these numbers, and their behind-the-scenes struggles. “It still sounds unbelievable to me. I’m with you as far as how they counted that. Maybe it’s the pure album sales. Somebody was trying to hurt them during their release.”

Meanwhile, speaking of record label and music business nonsense, Joe Budden also recently spoke on Drake’s licensing deal. He thinks that far too many people falsely believe that Drizzy has a lot of freedom in this UMG partnership. While those details and considerations are well beyond the scope of accessible information for most music listeners, that murky water is exactly what should inspire this skepticism. We’ll see if Joe has any more thoughts on his Gold plaque and on these conversations.

Drake Fans Troll Joe Budden After “Pump It Up” Goes Gold After 21 Years

Drake and Joe Budden have a love-and-hate relationship that has stemmed for many years. Overall, Budden is one of Drizzy’s biggest inspirations. If you listen to those early mixtapes, you can hear the Budden influence. When Joe disapproves of something Drizzy does, you can tell the Canadian megastar gets a bit hurt by it. Subsequently, this has led to a bit of a one-sided war between the two. While Joe was the one taking shots in 2016, the script has now flipped, as Budden is the mostly unbothered one.

Recently, Joe’s biggest song “Pump It Up” went gold. During his most recent podcast, Budden was gifted with a gold plaque for the track. This has led to discourse about the song’s impact and how it’s possible that it only went gold in 2024. One explanation is that it is up to the label to apply for RIAA certifications. Budden and Def Jam did not end their relationship on the best of terms, and it could have led to a bit of a delay in the proceedings.

Joe Budden Celebrates

Despite this valuable context, Drake fans decided to get their jokes off, regardless. In the replies to the DJ Akademiks tweet above, fans immediately roasted Budden for his achievement. Many noted that it would never take Drake 25 years for a song to go gold. Moreover, they made sure to get in as many one-hit-wonder jokes as humanly possible. It was all very cruel and ignores the fact that their favorite artist has been a Joe Budden Stan for ages.

Fans Express Surprise

Joe Budden Has A Strong Reaction To Tyler The Creator’s Alleged Criticism Of Ian

Tyler, The Creator’s recent interview with Maverick Carter stirred the pot, to say the least. His comments on an unnamed white rapper (perhaps a stand-in for many white artists) rubbed many fans the wrong way, especially fans of Ian. People thought that Tyler was talking about him when he spoke on white rappers mocking hip-hop, particularly the styles of MCs like Gucci Mane and Future. This is what led people to Ian, but the Hawthorne native never explicitly identified him in any way, so this is all pretty out of context. Nevertheless, The Joe Budden Podcast‘s thoughts on Tyler’s remarks are the same either way, and they discussed the implications of this conversation.

I don’t know who the f**k Ian is,” Joe Budden’s thoughts on the Tyler, The Creator debate began. “When I was younger, I used to shame my older cousins and uncles for not being so in tune with what was going on in hip-hop. They was old and washed. Now that I’m old and washed, I really appreciate not being in tune with whoever the f**k Ian is.

The Joe Budden Podcast Speaks On Tyler, The Creator & Ian

“You n***as got to do a little [more],” Joe Budden continued. “My famous people guard is up, y’all got to do a little more before I start running around saying ‘Ian.’ Who the f**k is Ian? Alright. Rest in peace Mac Miller, for sure, and couldn’t agree with him more on that point [about Mac and Eminem being more genuine]. I don’t know enough about Ian, but what I can say about Mac Miller, Russ, Eminem: they love this s**t. They live it. MC Shan produced “Informer”? I used to f**k with Snow before I knew race played such a huge factor in the country.”

Elsewhere, the podcast hosts also talked about trusted individuals in the industry pushing these white rappers and about the respectable tendency of some white MCs to not pretend like they’re a part of the culture. We know that Tyler, The Creator definitely struck a chord in Ian’s manager, who called him out amid all the speculation. Even if Ian wasn’t the intended target here, it’s no wonder why people pushed him to the forefront of the drama.

Joe Budden & Kai Cenat Squash Their “Beef” With The Help Of A Mutual Friend

Joe Budden is one of the biggest podcasters in the hip-hop world. Kai Cenat is easily one of the biggest streamers on Twitch. Overall, these two come from very different generations of the internet. However, their goals and talents are quite similar. With their generational divide, there has seemingly been a bit of a misunderstanding between the two. After all, Budden is known for some fiery rants that can be offputting for those he is targeting.

Following the infamous giveaway in New York that got Cenat arrested, Joe Budden went off on the young content creator. Moreover, Budden had words for Cenat after Drake continued to use him for the rollout of For All The Dogs. This led to more strong words between the two, and there has seemingly been a feud ever since. However, it was all squashed recently thanks to a stream that Cenat did with QueenzFlip. Flip is one of Budden’s co-hosts, and he made sure that everything was cordial between these parties.

Joe Budden x Kai Cenat

In the clip above, you can see the two engage in a quick phone call. During the call, Budden notes that he has love for Cenat and only had an issue with the New York giveaway. Cenat wanted Budden to show him some love, and the veteran rapper did just that. Needless to say, if you had any vested interest in Budden and Cenat’s relationship, you are going to enjoy this update. Only time will tell whether or not these two ever link up for some in-person content.

Let us know how you feel about all of this, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that the feud between Kai Cenat and Joe Budden was really that serious? Joe Budden Calls Lil Pump “A Sh*t Stain”

In late January of this year, controversial Miami, Florida rapper and rabid Donald Trump supporter, Lil Pump, unleashed on Joe Budden. Overall, it was a pretty shocking headline, as neither hip-hop figure has seemed to show any ill will toward one another in the past. At the time of this story hitting the internet, XXL mentioned that the “Gucci Gang” MC did co-sign Migos’ diss record “Ice Tray” when it released in 2017. That appears to be the only sliver of causation for Lil Pump to go off on Joe Budden several months ago. As for what the hitmaker said about the now podcaster, he brought his past addiction and assault allegations against women.

“F*** Joe Budden, 43-year-old drug addict [woman beater]”, via an Instagram Story. “[You’re] worthless. Go hit a man, not a [woman]. It’s never okay to hit women, [you’re] a piece of s***”. Now, after pretty much ignoring this random lash out, the equally controversial podcast host is firing back. Whether or not it has something to do with the aforementioned quotes is up for debate. Although, the person who clipped this portion of the episode of Budden’s show mentions that it deals with Pump’s Trump co-sign.

Joe Budden Doesn’t Understand How Lil Pump Is Still Relevant

“I still don’t know why he’s a thing”, he says as he begins his rant. “Like I just think of a s*** stain… a white s*** stain… I’ve never seen him not look s*** stainish…”. After that outburst, he hilariously asks one of his co-hosts, “Is this your man?”, seeing if he’s dealing with any Pump fans. He responds back with a simple, “nope”. Budden, then encourages him to get in on the comedy bit, “Then do some whipping”. A few seconds later, he decides to add him to his “hit list” because he’s an “easy target”. Maybe a diss a track is coming from Joe?

What are your thoughts on Joe Budden calling Lil Pump a “s*** stain”? Do you think this has to do with the latter calling out the former earlier this year? Do you think we will get a diss track from Lil Pump now? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Lil Pump and Joe Budden. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.

Rory Calls Out Joe Budden And Tells His Side Of Their Run-In At Lucky Daye Concert

The beef between Joe Budden, Rory, and Mal, who were all previously co-hosts of The Joe Budden Podcast, is still a pretty present narrative in all their media lives. One might think that it comes more from the departed duo, but this time around, it was Joe who spoke on running into Rory at a Lucky Daye show and the awkwardness that ensued. First, he asked Emanny why he went to say hi to Rory, and he explained why he keeps his distance with him. Rory then responded to these comments from his former colleague and spoke on why he thinks Budden is just butt-hurt.

“Sometimes, you just go to a Lucky Daye show with your girl and don’t even know someone’s around you,” Rory said of the Joe Budden run-in and his comments. “Sometimes, you don’t bump into anyone or see anyone. Telling somebody they need to go heal when they’re having the time of their life with their girl at an R&B concert, and you’re staring at them? I think… Who needs to heal in this situation? *laughs* Even though you was there. No, okay, we’re not stupid. Of course I posted that in reply to what was a very interesting rant on a podcast. I went to a Lucky Daye show, I didn’t see anyone whatsoever. I saw Emanny. That was it, in the line for popcorn. Shout out to E.”

Rory Responds To Joe Budden’s Lucky Daye Show Story

This comes amid continued supposed subliminals between these media rivals, including some alleged words that Joe Budden had for Rory and Mal following a conversation with Taxstone earlier this year. “I’m feeling like f**k all you n***as,” he tweeted back in June. “Ain’t no neutral. When I get on my s**t I don’t wanna hear nothing about bullying either… yall been asking for it.”

Meanwhile, Joe Budden also spoke this year on whether or not he misses the relationship he had with Rory and Mal. He does look back on their bond fondly, but he’s not interested in burying the hatchet or reconciling; just going their own ways. We’ll see what the future holds… And what other run-ins could happen.

Joe Budden Causes Intense Debate After Putting Latto Over Doja Cat

Some hip-hop debates are more difficult than others, and especially when you’re talking about two wildly different artists, they can become quite contentious. Moreover, this is what Joe Budden provoked on his most recent self-titled podcast episode when he said that Latto is a better rapper than Doja Cat. Of course, this inspired a whole lot of fan reactions and debates, many of which you can see in the replies of the post below. Regardless of how many Doja fans disagreed with him and how happy Big Mama fans were to see her get her flowers, it’s very hard to compare both artists.

“Latto is ill,” Joe Budden’s comments began. “I might have to have her [at] number two. Nicki is number one for me. I think Latto would give Doja a long night. She can’t rap like that. If I’m just talking about rapping, Doja can pack it up if Latto walk in the studio with her notebook. I love Cardi but I mean, there’s the [ghostwriting] rumors so I’ll leave that alone. Latto has confirmed that to be her pen. She really loves hip-hop, like she’s one of those girls.

Joe Budden Thinks Latto Can Out-Rap Doja Cat: See Replies For Fan Debate

Joe Budden has previously interviewed Latto on his podcast, with her talking about her label trying to stop her from responding to hate all the way back in 2022. “There’s just so much stuff that I’m going through right now that I just didn’t know that people do,” she expressed. “It’s the business stuff that just, like… It’s frustrating you because you can’t speak on certain stuff. They tell you to shut the f**k up but it’s, like, this is what I’m going through. B***h, I don’t want to shut the f**k up.”

As for Doja Cat, Joe Budden hasn’t spoken too much about her before, with him having this to say after Summer Walker called Doja out over winning all the R&B-related Billboard Music Awards in 2022. “Doja’s at the dinners somewhere, with the agency, with the right team, with the right agency, rubbing the right elbows. That’s what’s going on,” he remarked. “Summer knows that as well, but I’m with her. She has been at the top of her field in R&B, but boy, does it suck now that I have to compete with the Swiss army knife that is doing R&B and a little more.”

Joe Budden Criticizes How Yung Miami Spoke On JT, The City Girls & Diddy On “Caresha Please”

Yung Miami’s new Caresha Please episode kicked off the podcast’s second season with a bang as Saucy Santana asked her about the Diddy controversy, the City Girls breakup, and why she stayed relatively silent on those issues. This is especially the case as it relates to Sean Combs, as the Florida rapper previously spoke briefly on her relationship with JT and the status of their duo. But on The Joe Budden Podcast, its titular host questioned the difference in how Miami speaks about her former rap partner versus how she speaks on her former romantic and business partner. Specifically, he seems to think that she threw her fellow lyricist under the bus with previous statements, and was not as quick to point out issues that she had with the Bad Boy mogul both in business and in their personal lives.

Check out the clip below, which sees Joe Budden mostly talk about the bizarre dynamic that the City Girls displayed before their split, Yung Miami’s comments on JT, and some brief words about how Miami boasted about increasing Diddy’s motion. While this might be an overly critical stance for some, it’s not an uncommon one online. For example, DJ Akademiks chose a different critical angle about this new Caresha Please episode that has more to do with his perception of her relationship with Puff Daddy. That take deals more with issues of image, self-respect, beauty, and toxic interpersonal dynamics, but just like Budden’s, people will have understandable reasons to push back on it.

Joe Budden’s Thoughts On Yung Miami’s Caresha Please Season 2 Premiere

“If she was trying to save face she could have did it a long time ago,” Saucy Santana shared online to defend Yung Miami amid this and other criticisms. “You can’t get mad at someone about their truth. Whatever happened to [someone else in the] past, we don’t neglect that, we don’t say that it didn’t happen, and we don’t condone it.”

Meanwhile, this is what Yung Miami herself had to say about backlash to this Caresha Please episode. “I knew the interview would be 50/50 but I feel good telling my truth!” she expressed on Twitter. “I’m about to go outside and have a ball I deserve it see yall later :).” “I can’t hear you b***hes!” Miami captioned a picture of her holding up two stacks of cash to her ears.
