Joe Budden and Drake have had a lot to say about one another lately, and not all of it has been positive. However, the former did share on a recent episode of his podcast that there’s at least one artist that he’d be sad not to see Champagne Papi in the studio with anymore. While chatting with his co-hosts, Budden spoke about the apparent drama that’s unfolding between Drake and most of his contemporaries right now, noting that he wouldn’t be bothered by a halt in collaborations between the 6ix God and Future.

“I wasn’t the biggest fan of What A Time to Be Alive so who cares if Drake and Future never record again in my book. If Rick Ross and Drake are not rapping together no more, this hurts,” the 43-year-old said. “This is impactful. No more ‘[Aston Martin] Music’?” Budden asked in disbelief. As HipHopDX reports, the main clue right now as to why Rozay unfollowed his long-time friend is a tweet from Metro Boomin urging hip-hop heads to “pick a side” after dropping We Don’t Trust You last month.

Joe Budden Wishes for Drake and Rick Ross to Resolve Their Conflict

The former correctional officer appears as a guest on the collab album from the renowned producer and Hendrix, which also includes Kendrick Lamar’s feisty “Like That” diss aimed at Champagne Papi. Rather than jumping in the booth to respond, Drake went low by sending VIP tickets to Ross’ ex, Cristina Mackey during a recent tour date, and has been hinting at crafting the perfect comeback to his newfound opps.

At this point, it’s looking like Drake is feuding with many of his past collaborators, though we still haven’t exactly pieced together why. Earlier this week the father of one fueled rumours that he and Travis Scott are on the outs by appearing to “shoot” at a prop of the Houston native’s head while performing their “MELTDOWN” collaboration. Sexyy Red and Drake have formed one of the most surprising friendships in rap across the past few months. The breakout star of 2023 appeared on a song from Drizzy’s new album For All The Dogs. They were both joined by SZA on the track “Rich Baby Daddy” which became a breakout hit. Earlier this year they shared a video for the song where Drake and Sexyy pretended to be a couple to play off of her real-life pregnancy.

But during a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, Budden has some comments about their relationship. In clips that made the rounds online, he claims that Drake must be getting paid to promote Sexyy Red and her music. He also jokes that the pair can’t possibly be hanging out so much because Drizzy likes it. Joe Budden could have hit the Madison Square Garden stage and delivered a “Pump It Up” performance.

During the recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, Budden revealed Nicki Minaj reached out to him to perform his hit during her Pink Friday Tour stop in NYC. Budden denied it because he doesn’t know if he has the “hype” in him.

“Nicki hit me last night,” Budden said. “She hit me when she was about to go on in Jersey. I was home. She didn’t say, ‘Yo, come out to Jersey’ and do that. She was 30 minutes from going on stage, and she hit me. I said, ‘I want to go to the New York show.’ And she said, ‘Yeah, you’re gonna come out and do ‘Pump it Up.’”

Regarding rejecting the offer, Budden said, “I gotta go out there and act hype, and I don’t know, I ain’t hype no more.”

Speaking with his cohost Parks, Budden revealed his last stage performance was in 2016.

Despite his ongoing spats, a public co-sign from Drake can catapult any rising musician to mainstream success.

The “You Broke My Heart” rapper’s latest muse, Sexyy Red, has undoubtedly seen a boom in her career. Their time on the road, recorded collaboration (“Rich Baby Daddy“), and flirty energy have made them a fun fixture for music fans. However, Joe Budden doesn’t believe any of it.

On March 28, the podcaster told his co-hosts that he believes Drake is secretly “getting paid to promote Sexyy Red.” Budden’s criticism didn’t stop there. He went on to say that he also doubts the fawned-over friendship presented by the entertainers online.

Although another member of the panel quickly agreed. Trevor “Queenzflip” Robinson pushed back. “Quick, real, quick, real quick, you said this ‘paid on somebody’s deal,’” he said. “Is this confirmed, or is this just some inside sh*t that you are saying?”

Budden quickly snapped: “Oh, you think [Drake] just likes being around Sexyy Red?”

The truth is yet to be determined. But given the extravagant gifts, including cash and lavish purses, Drake gave to Sexyy Red and his appearance in her recent “Get It Sexyy,” they seem to be fine in their friendship.

Drake still has yet to respond to the shade thrown at him by his “Poetic Justice” collaborator Kendrick Lamar with a diss track of his own. This is leaving some to wonder if he’ll ever have any bars to spit about what went down between them. Interestingly, the father of one is still very active on social media. Specifically, he wasn’t afraid to poke fun at another opp of his – Joe Budden. On Saturday (March 30), Drizzy’s Instagram Story lit up with a snapshot of the podcaster wearing some seriously baggy sweatpants.

To complete his fit, Budden added a black hoodie, a shiny puffer jacket in the same colour, crisp white sneakers and a hat that reads, “FREE.” The Canadian’s trolling comes after his most recent performance in New York City, where he got some frustrations off his chest during “Energy.” On the picture of JB, Drake wrote, “What’s the vibes NY?!?” suggesting he was on the hunt for a fun way to spend his Easter weekend.

Specifically, she took issue with how they disagreed over whether or not Jussie Smollett was the victim of a hate crime, with him berating her for believing the lie. Regardless of the specificity of that situation, the media personality is drawing connections between the former Everyday Struggle host’s relative silence on Sean Combs’ case and his staunch opinion on other matters.

What is true, however, is that his sons were detained, all while his private jet was stopped from leaving the Miami-Opa Locka executive airport. As for Joe Budden?
