Drake’s Opulent New ‘Previous Engagements’ Chain Has 42 Former Diamond Rings For All His Near-Proposals

Drake added a new diamond chain to his collection and this one is raising some eyebrows. The Canadian rapper, who’s gained a reputation for being a sad playboy, has one child and apparently 42 engagements that he never went through with. In public knowledge, Drake has never proposed to anyone — but the theme of his new “Previous Engagements” chain includes diamond rings from every moment Drake didn’t follow through.

The Y-shaped chain was revealed on jewelry designer Alex Moss’s Instagram, as he shared him and Drake both worked on it. “New piece titled ‘Previous Engagements’ for all the times he thought about it but never did it,” Moss captioned. “42 engagement rings, 351.38 carats in diamonds.”

The voiceover on Moss’s video also reveals that the creation process took over 14 months, with “each diamond hand-selected.”

Doing the math, each one of Drake’s diamond engagement rings would’ve been approximately 8.4 carats each. According to The Diamond Registry, the average cost of an average wholesale certified ring of this carat ranges from $796,416 to $11,883,584. Now, take that cost and repeat it 42 times in your head. It makes sense that Drake decided to repurpose all that money into some bling of his own… if he bought them before.

Or he was just going for the symbolism of it all, in typical Drake fashion.

SZA on Drake: ‘He’s Never Said Anything Negative About Me. I’m Grateful for That.’

Sza on Drake: ‘He’s Never Said Anything Negative About Me. I’m Grateful for That.'

SZA pulled up on Big Tigger for Audacy Check In and spoke about her new album S.O.S. and also her current relationship with Drake.

SZA recently appeared on Saturday Night Live with Keke Palmer, an episode with a Drake PSA Skit.

SZA would state the moment was a bit strange but overall she enjoyed it.

“I was like, ‘did they know?’ – but they didn’t ask me to be in it. Nobody said anything…. I feel like Drake has a Regina George quality to him where it’s just kind of like, ‘Have you, or anyone you know been personally victimized?’ He’s like a cool kid, you know. When you’re the popular kid in school, it’s entertaining. It’s entertaining, but you sometimes are taking losses in the midst of that entertainment. The honesty, I respect that. But I definitely laughed real hard…I cackled.”

– SZA

On her current relationship with The Boy, SZA states they are cool “and we’ve always been cool.”

“It’s never been weird. It didn’t come completely out of the blue when he let me know. I didn’t know it was a song with 21 (Savage) or anything like that. But anytime he’s ever mentioned me, it’s always been positive. He’s never said anything negative about me. I’m grateful for that. I think highly of him…He’s King Drake.”

– SZA

Speaking of the album, SZA says she is “excited and also terrified.”

She added, “I personally just want to trash the whole fucking album. And just disappear and be, like, ‘I’m gonna see y’all when I see y’all.’”

Thankfully, she let the album fly. You can hear it all below.

SZA Compares Drake To Regina George As “SOS” First-Week Sales Projections Surface

In the midst of SZA’s sophomore album, SOS, finally making its long-awaited debut, the TDE vocalist has been doing her share of press to promote her work. Among other recent interviews, she sat down with Audacity to chat about not only her music but also her love life.

As you may recall, the Ctrl hitmaker was previously name-dropped by Drake during his guest appearance on 21 Savage’s “Mr. Right Now.” The Canadian raps, “Said she wanna f*ck to some SZA, wait / ’Cuz I used to date SZA back in ’08,” on the Savage Mode II track.

During her chat with the outlet, SZA confirmed the long-standing rumours about her and Drizzy. Interestingly, she also compared the father of one to a Mean Girls character. “I feel like Drake has a Regina George quality to him,” she said.

“It’s just kind of like, ‘Have you or anyone you know been personally victimized?’ He’s like a cool kid, you know. When you’re the popular kid in school, it’s entertaining. It’s entertaining, but you sometimes are taking losses in the midst of that entertainment.”

Speaking on the lyrics about her, she specifically noted, “The honesty, I respect that. But I definitely laughed real hard… I cackled.”

Even with their past history, SZA maintains that she and Drake have “always been cool.” She told Audacity, “It’s never been weird. It’s never come completely out of the blue.”

Thankfully, the Scorpion artist had the good sense to warn her before dropping the song. She also says that any mention her ex makes of her has been positive, and no negativity comes from him.

“I’m grateful for that and I think highly of him, and I think it’s really weird that as all these years went past, I am an artist now and I wasn’t then and he’s King Drake,” she said.

Elsewhere in the news, the first-week sales projections for SOS have arrived. As HDD reports, the new album is due to sell 275 – 300K copies in its first week out.

In comparison, her first album, Ctrl, did approximately 60K upon its arrival. If the numbers are accurate, SZA’s project will be among the top 10 biggest debuts of 2022.

SZA Thinks Drake ‘Has A Regina George Quality About Him,’ But Don’t Worry, They’re Still Cool

On the heels of the release of her sophomore album, S.O.S., SZA sat down with Audacy’s Check-In podcast. The interview took place after last Saturday’s episode of Saturday Night Live, where she was the musical guest.

During the aforementioned Saturday Night Live episode, there was a sketch in which ex-flings of rapper Drake formed a union called “The United Tingz Of Aubrey.

SZA herself was not in the sketch, however, the irony was not lost on fans. In a song called “Mr. Right Now” from 21 Savage & Metro Boomin’s 2020 mixtape Savage Mode II, Drake alludes to a past relationship, as he raps, “Yeah, said she wanna f*ck to some SZA, wait / ‘Cause I used to date SZA back in ’08.”

During her podcast episode, SZA noted that she wasn’t aware of the sketch until the episode’s airing.

“In a strange way, I was like, ‘Did they know?’” she said. “But they didn’t ask me to be in it. Nobody said anything. … I feel like Drake has a Regina George quality to him where it’s just kind of like, ‘Have you or anyone you know been personally victimized?’ He’s like a cool kid, you know. When you’re the popular kid in school, it’s entertaining. It’s entertaining, but you sometimes are taking losses in the midst of that entertainment. The honesty, I respect that. But I definitely laughed real hard…I cackled.”

Despite the comparison to the Mean Girls bully, SZA insists that it’s all love between her and Drizzy.

“We’re cool. And we’ve always been cool,” she said. “It’s never been weird. It didn’t come completely out of the blue when he let me know. I didn’t know it was a song with 21 [Savage] or anything like that. But anytime he’s ever mentioned me, it’s always been positive. He’s never said anything negative about me. I’m grateful for that. I think highly of him…He’s King Drake.”

Drake Becomes Highest Selling Singles Artist in RIAA History Surpassing Eminem

Drake is no stranger to racking up hits, so it is no shocker that the Recording Industry Association of America has crowned him the highest-selling singles artist in its history, eclipsing Eminem.

On Thursday, the “Rich Flex” rapper earned 10 new plaques from the RIAA, bringing his total to a staggering 184 million. The Toronto rapper is in rarified company. This past March, Eminem was awarded the distinction after selling nearly 166 million singles.

Drake has grown into a commercial juggernaut throughout his career, earning at least five diamond singles, including “Hotline Bling,” “One Dance,” “SICKO MODE” with Travis Scott, and “Life Is Good” with Future.

It doesn’t stop there. The “Way 2 Sexy” rapper is on his way to having the highest certified RIAA song with 2018’s “God’s Plan,” which jumped to 15x-platinum status on December 8, making it the biggest-selling single in his catalog.

The record is currently jointly held by Post Malone and Swae Lee’s “Sunflower” and Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” which are both 17x-platinum.

Drake is also in competition with Jay-Z for having the most No. 1s atop the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, thanks to his latest project with 21 Savage, Her Loss. Drake and the Brooklyn rapper are neck and neck with 14 chart-topping records.

Drake Goes Full Dad Mode, Stops Adonis From Eating Too Much Candy

Drake is continuing to soak in the success of his newest album, the 21 Savage-assisted, Her Loss. The former Degrassi star was spotted courtside at the Raptors vs. Lakers game in Toronto on Wednesday night (December 7). Additionally, he was accompanied by his five-year-old son Adonis.

A clip of the pair courtside at Scotiabank Arena has since gone viral on social media. An arena worker is seen coming up behind the “Hotline Bling” singer and his son to offer them more candy. Adonis is already enjoying a pack of Skittles.

Drizzy happily takes the first new bag of candy from the worker. Subsequently, she shows him a couple more bags, which the five-year-old seems to want as well.

Drake Steps In

It appears as though the Toronto superstar is trying to explain to his little twin that he could only indulge in one or the other.

As the global ambassador for the Raptors, Drake is spotted in his signature courtside seat quite often. This wasn’t Adonis’ first NBA game either, as the Grahams have been spotted enjoying games together in the past.

The five-year-old’s basketball skills have been documented by his father over the years. In the most recent clip, he can be seen dribbling two basketballs at once.

The 6 God’s newest project, the aforementioned Her Loss debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. Overall, it served as his 12th No. 1 album and 21 Savage’s third.

Consequently, Her Loss dethroned Taylor Swift’s Midnights as the No. 1 album in the U.S. at the time. Subsequently, the album has also sparked some memes on social media since its release. Namely, the intro, “Rich Flex” has been made fun of all over the internet. In various videos, users poke fun at the way in which Drizzy starts the track off.

Additionally, neither LeBron James nor Anthony Davis played for the Lakers last night. Nonetheless, the father-son-duo still got to enjoy a 123-116 Raptors win.

Drake recently announced the December 5 release of the NOCTA x Nike Air Force 1 Lows. He also gave fans a glimpse at the NOCTA’s Hot Step Air Terra “Champagne” and “Purple” kicks. That’s not all Drake has going on the days. Drizzy recently scored a win in a lawsuit because of his 2020 hit, “Way 2 Sexy” featuring Young Thug and Future. According to reports, the lawsuit was tossed as the plaintiff, Micheldeangelou Perfvwaybelayou, allegedly harassed prosecutors.

Micheldeangelou accused Drake of stealing his song “Reach For Skies” for “Way 2 Sexy.” However, courts sided with the Canadia, according to documents obtained by All Hip Hop. “While Plaintiff does allege ownership of a valid copyright, he does not allege facts to show Defendants’ access to Plaintiff’s song. Nor substantial similarity.“The court grants defendants’ motion to dismiss plaintiff’s complaint in its entirety.”
