Drake Collaborated On A New Song But Didn’t Get Credited At All, He Just Claimed On Instagram

Gordo (formerly known as DJ Carnage) just dropped a new album called Diamante, and it’s one Drake fans have had their eyes on: Drizzy features on a pair of tracks from the project, “Sideways” and “Healing.” The way Drake sees it, though, there’s actually a third track from the project on which he should be credited but currently isn’t.

In an Instagram Story posted last night/this morning (July 29), Drake shared a screenshot of the track “Cafecito” (which was released as a single in May) and wrote, “I made this beat with you but it’s all good… [pepper emojis] @gordoszn.”

According to the track’s credits on Spotify, Drake is not officially credited on the song. Nicki Nicole and Sech are credited as performers alongside Gordo, and Gordo is credited as the track’s sole producer.

Even beyond Gordo, Drake has been in a collaborative mode lately. An unreleased Lil Yachty collaboration popped up on Kai Cenat’s stream. He guested on two Camila Cabello songs, “Hot Uptown” and “Uuugly.” Of course, this all follows Her Loss, Drake’s joint album with 21 Savage. His latest solo album, 2023’s For All The Dogs, also includes link-ups with people like Teezo Touchdown, Savage, J. Cole, Yeat, SZA, PartyNextDoor, Chief Keef, Bad Bunny, Sexyy Red, and Yachty.

ASAP Rocky Apparently Isn’t Done With His Drake Feud Yet, Reportedly Addressing His Defeated Rival On His New Album

Although Drake waved the white flag after Kendrick Lamar’s relentless assault, ASAP Rocky reportedly still has some shots left for him. According to Hot97 DJ Kast One, Rocky hasn’t forgotten the swipes Drake took at him on “Push Ups,” his initial response to Kendrick’s declaration of war on “Like That.”

“I heard A$AP Rocky definitely addressing a lot of the main topics that are happening out there right now,” Kast One told his fellow hosts. “Let’s just say the list keeps going on strong.” After being asked for clarification by Ebro Darden, who wondered if “Rocky is still on Drake’s list,” Kast One confirmed, “Oh, he’s gonna be cemented on the list after this.”

Although the two rappers were at one point collaborators and appeared to be good friends, all that changed after ASAP Rocky began dating Rihanna — who Drake also formerly dated — and eventually had two kids with her. Drake seemingly lashed out at his old flame on his For All The Dogs song “Fear Of Heights,” after which, it seemed friendly feelings between him and Rocky two went out the window.

Fans were sure Rocky aimed a line or two at Drake on Kid Cudi’s single “WOW” early this year, followed by another sneaky diss on Metro Boomin and Future’s We Still Don’t Trust You track “Show Of Hands.” If he continues to go in, the beleaguered Drake just might have to call in sick for the rest of the year.

Drake Demands Gordo To Give Him His Proper Credit

Over the weekend, Drake and producer Gordo (formerly Carnage), teamed up on multiple occasions for the latter’s debut album under his new name, DIAMANTE. You can hear them together on the closer, “Healing”, as well as track two, “Sideways”. Both see Drizzy crossover into the dance genre, something that he has done a few times throughout his career. Each of them are very groovy and danceable cuts for the late summer nights. Fairly predictably, their collaborations are amongst the most streamed on the record so far. Yes, despite Drake being the jester of the rap world at the moment, he is still drawing plenty of ears to anything he’s attached to.

“Healing” and “Sideways” are the first collaborations between the two, and we can only imagine that him and Gordo would team up again down the road. Or, will they? Just a few hours ago, Drake took to his Instagram Story to share something pretty shocking. According to the rapper, he had a third “collaboration” with the American-Nicaraguan beat maker. “Cafecito”, currently the most played song on DIAMANTE, should have Drake’s name under the production credits.

Drake Claims “It’s All Good” With Gordo

If you check out the Genius page for the record, his name is in fact nowhere to be found. So, Drake decided to call out Gordo saying, “I made this beat with you but it’s all good… 🌶🌶🌶@gordoszn”. This is classic passive-aggressive behavior from the Canadian superstar, something that he displays on social media whenever he’s feeling some type of way. If this is true, that is pretty surprising, considering the aforementioned songs they have together on the record. Gordo has yet to respond, and it will be interesting to see what comes of this.

What are your thoughts on Drake calling out Gordo on Instagram for not giving him a production credit? Do you think this is a bad look for the rapper or the producer, and why? Could you see this leading to a new beef for The Boy? Which collaboration between the two on DIAMANTE are you enjoying the most? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Drake and Gordo. Rakim Thinks Drake Vs. Kendrick Lamar Battle Validated Real Hip Hop

If you looked up “hip hop” in the dictionary, there’s a decent chance Rakim would be the picture example. The rapper revolutionized the genre in the 1980s. He laid the groundwork for future icons like Nas, JAY-Z and Kendrick Lamar, and can still hold his own on the mic. He just dropped a new album, in fact. Rakim has discussed numerous topics during the press tour for the album, but the one everyone was curious to hear about was Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar. Rakim finally shared his thoughts on the pop culture phenomenon of 2024, and he didn’t disappoint.

Firstly, Rakim made a point giving both Drake and Kendrick Lamar their flowers. He appreciated the fact that both artists were willing to accept the challenge. He also praised them for putting commerciality on the line for the sake of the art. “A lot of people in that position won’t accept no challenge, because they got too much to lose,” he told Billboard. “So, it was dope that these brothers put the mainstream success down and said, ‘Yeah, let’s do it.’” Rakim conceded that Drake is at the top of his game as an artist. That said, he made it clear that the battle ultimately spoke to a larger cultural divide. As far as he’s concerned, Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar was mainstream vs. real hip-hop. And the latter won out.

Rakim Thinks Their Battle Was Important For The Genre

“It showed the difference between real hip-hop and mainstream hip-hop,” Rakim posited. “Younger artists now know that there’s a difference.” The rapper felt that these differing sides of the genre had been less defined in recent years. Lamar’s victory, however, restored a sense of balance, and served to remind rappers that they can pursue one style over the other. “A lot of them didn’t understand that,” he asserted. “They just listened to the majority, not knowing that people don’t categorize what they were hearing as real hip-hop.” Rakim is ultimately happy with the outcome of the battle.

Rakim told Billboard that he has newfound respect for both Drake and Kendrick Lamar. He feels like their battle helped to restore balance to the genre, in addition to proving the talent of both men. “The battle was very needed for the genre,” he added. “I tip my hat to them brothers. Let’s just hope that it stays to the music.” Rakim has repeatedly praised K. Dot in the past, but it’s a testament to his love for the genre that he gave props to the 6 God as well.

Soulja Boy Threatens Drake After Hearing Alleged “Super Soak” Diss

Drake can’t go more than a week without angering another rapper. The Toronto star is still reeling from the fallout of the Kendrick Lamar battle. “Not Like Us” is still near the top of the charts. He claimed that he’s going to get back to making hits for his fans, but he didn’t mention the subs he’d be throwing at his peers. Kai Cenat previewed a Drake and Lil Yachty collab during a recent Twitch stream, and many fans believe the 6 God was taking shots at Soulja Boy. Soulja seemingly agreed, and he took to IG Live to make his feelings on the matter clear.

Soulja Boy did not beat around the bush. He called Drake out by name and told him to stand on business if he wants to beef. “Drake, you up here talkin’ about some S.O.D. super soak,” the rapper posited. “Boy, stop playin wit me, boy. That better be a f*cking shout out, n**ga.” If he finds out that it was a diss, then Soulja Boy is going to declare war on Drake. “You better keep that sh*t light, my boy,” he asserted. “This your first and only warning.” After the warning was made clear, the “Crank That” star got down to talking tough. “This not gon’ be the best idea for you, family,” he told Drizzy. He then urged Drake to “speak on how you feel” so the two men can “get to it.”

Soulja Boy Has Been Criticizing Drake For Years

Soulja Boy and Drake have not had a good relationship over the years. There was a period in which they were cool. Soulja produced the beat for Drake’s classic “We Made It” in 2013, but outside of that, Soulja has made his hatred for the 6 God crystal clear. During his IG Live rant, he joked about Drizzy losing the aforementioned rap battle to Kendrick Lamar. “How the f*ck you let Kendrick Lamar cook yo a*s,” the rapper asked. “And then the first thing you respond is you tryna come at me.” Soulja Boy went on to restate that the OVO founder doesn’t want more smoke. “I’m tellin’ you, my n**ga, Imma get on your a*s,” he promised.

Soulja Boy’s reaction to the Drake and Lil Yachty leak makes sense. “Super Soak” is a title that evokes the rapper’s biggest hit to date. Drake also makes reference to “S.O.D.” aka “stacks on deck,” which is a phrase that Soulja helped popularize in the 2000s. Both of these phrases are weaved into the chorus of the song too, drawing further attention to their use. It’s possible that Drake could be paying tribute to his predecessor. Given how often he likes to throw subs, though, we understand Soulja’s suspicion.

ASAP Rocky Confirms J Cole Collab Amidst Ongoing Drake Beef

ASAP Rocky is pulling out all the stops on his new album. He’s been working on it since last decade, and the list of collaborators he’s lined up is absurd. Don’t Be Dumb is slated to have production from the likes of Madlib, Pharrell, and The Alchemist, just to name a few. Slick Rick (!) and Rihanna have been rumored as potential features. DJ Kast One dropped by Hot 97 on July 26 to hype up the album. He claimed that another superstar will be featured on the album: J Cole.

DJ Kast One told Hot 97 he already heard Don’t Be Dumb. He also claimed that he heard a standout verse from Dreamville’s finest. “I heard J Cole,” he stated. “I heard songs being played.” The untitled, technically confirmed song will be the first collab between the rappers in over a decade. ASAP Rocky dropped a guest verse alongside Cole on the “TKO” remix from 2013. Justin Timberlake’s single also featured bars from Pusha T, in what now amounts to a nightmare blunt rotation for Drake.

ASAP Rocky And Cole Haven’t Worked Together In A Decade

ASAP Rocky and J Cole are generational peers. That’s part of what makes the impending collab so exciting. Well, one of the reasons. ASAP Rocky has been against Drake throughout 2024’s rap civil war. He dissed Drake on Future’s “Show of Hands,” and has stated he plans to do so again on Don’t Be Dumb. J Cole, on the other hand, is a former Drake ally. The rapper was on “First Person Shooter” with Drake, and his line about the “Big 3” started the whole mess. Cole was on Drake’s side until the “7 Minute Drill” debacle. The Dreamville star apologized for dissing Kendrick Lamar and then seemingly changed sides. He appeared on the same Future and Metro Boomin album in which Rocky dissed Drake.

To make matters worse for the 6 God, ASAP Rocky plans to diss him again on Don’t Be Dumb. During the same Hot 97 preview, DJ Kast One confirmed that the rapper will be firing back at Drake over the bars he dropped on “Family Matters.” Evidently, J Cole had made the full transformation to being anti-Drake. It was theorized that he dissed the Toronto star on “Red Leather,” but knowingly appearing on an album with Drake disses removes the need for speculation. We’ve come a long way since “In the Morning.”

ASAP Rocky Will Respond To Drake Disses On “Don’t Be Dumb” Album

ASAP Rocky is in album mode. It’s been a while. Rocky’s last album, Testing, dropped in 2018, and since then, the landscape of hip-hop has changed. Hell, the landscape of hip-hop has changed in the last six months alone. Drake went to war with nearly every big star in the genre, including ASAP Rocky. The 6ix God threw shots at Rocky on the songs “Push Ups” and “Family Matters,” and even made reference to Rocky’s relationship with Rihanna. It’s been radio silence since those songs dropped, but it won’t be for much longer.

DJ Kast One went on Hot 97 to hype ASAP Rocky’s upcoming album, Don’t Be Dumb. He assured fans that it will be worth the wait. He also claimed that Rocky is going to fire back at Drake with a few disses of his own. I heard ASAP Rocky definitely addressing a lot of the main topics that are happening out here right now,” Kast One asserted. Let’s just say, the list keeps going on strong.” He initially played coy about the beef between ASAP Rocky and Drake, which led Ebro to get clarification. “So you saying Rocky is still on Drake’s list is what you saying?,” the host asked.

ASAP Rocky Previously Dissed Drake On “Show Of Hands”

DJ Kast One did not hesitate to confirm. “He’s gonna be cemented on the list after this,” he claimed. It’s worth noting that ASAP Rocky has already dissed Drake on record. After the release of “Push Ups,” the Harlem superstar hopped on the Future and Metro Boomin song “Show of Hands.” Rocky referenced the mother of Drake’s child, Sophie Brussaux. He also alluded to sleeping with her before she got with the 6 God. “N**gas in they feelings over women, what, you hurt or somethin’. I smash before you birthed son, Flacko hit it first, son,” Rocky raps. “Still don’ trust you, it’s always us, never them. Heard you dropped your latest sh*t. Funny how it just came and went.”

Unfortunately, for ASAP Rocky, the diss did not go over well. Fans generally agreed that his criticisms were weak, especially given Drake’s romantic history with Rihanna. Drake even pointed this out on the “Family Matters” verse addressing Rocky. He even called out the rapper by his real name, “Rakim talkin’ sh*t again,” Drake spits. “Gassed ’cause you hit my BM first, n**ga, do the math, who I was hittin’ then?” The consensus was that Drake won the battle against ASAP Rocky, which means the pressure is on for the next response to be good. Don’t Be Dumb drops August 30.

Drake Gets Booed At Limp Bizkit Concert In Toronto

Drake’s year keeps getting worse. The rapper attended nu-metal band Limp Bizkit’s show in Toronto on July 24. The band is on their Loserville tour, which started on July 16. During the show, frontman Fred Durst told the audience that Drake was there, to the chagrin of the crowd.

“I thought Drake was your homie,” said Durst to a booing audience. “Drake’s my homie.” He dedicated the next song to him. Fans noted that Drake’s and Limp Bizkit’s fanbases probably do not align. “I doubt many Drake fans and Limp Bizkit fans are synonymous with one another,” said one X user. “I wasn’t expecting them to like him, but it’s still funny that it happened in Toronto,” said another user. “Welp, guess Drake is gonna take a selfie with oversized pants, a Korn T-shirt and a box of biscuits,” said a third user. That is referring to Drake’s petty streak, which continued recently when ScHoolboy Q’s Toronto concert was canceled amid a feud with Q’s close friend Kendrick Lamar.

Drake Gets Booed At A Concert In Toronto

The reception from Drake’s hometown crowd is the latest in what will go down as a nightmarish 2024 for him. The feud with Kendrick Lamar ended with Lamar’s “Not Like Us” becoming the biggest song of the year, a far cry from the result of Drake’s battle with Meek Mill. Though he released music this year, appearing twice on Camila Cabello’s latest album, he is yet to produce a hit in the way he previously has. His own tracks toward Lamar did not go over well with the public. Now, he’s getting booed in the place that born and raised him.

Drake reportedly has new music on the way. He appeared on producer Gordo’s album DIAMANTE, which released on Friday morning, delivering songs in the same vein as those from Honestly, Nevermind, Drake’s 2022 pivot into house music. There has not been a year without a Drake project of some kind since 2014. It is likely that he will come out with a new album before the end of 2024 as he attempts to win the public back over. Maybe he should start with his home fans first.

Childish Gambino Producer Weighs In On Drake Diss Conspiracies

Childish Gambino certainly has gone out with a bang on his final album, Bando Stone and The New World. The fifth LP is essentially a mixture of what has made him into the multi-hyphenate we know him to be. It seems that listeners are enjoying the record, regardless of what the sales projections are telling you. For context, the soundtrack-to-be is currently looking at top 15-20 debut on the charts. That will roughly translate to 35,000 copies sold. Overall, people cannot stop theorizing about the possibility that Childish Gambino did in fact diss Drake. “Yoshinoya” is the track in question and fans have been breaking down its lyrics since it dropped last Friday (July 19).

They feel there a lot of connections to the Kendrick Lamar battle, such as, “N****s don’t know where I’m at, I found your house on a app / People around you ain’t slatt, they plottin’ hard when you slack“. The first could be a callback to the cover of the “Not Like Us” single, while the second is a possible reference to “6:16 in LA” where Lamar says Drake’s people are secretly plotting on him. With fans running around like chickens with their heads cut off, one of Gambino’s producers felt the need to weigh in. However, he’s more so just enjoying the show for now.

Childish Gambino’s Producer Is Loving The Drake Diss Speculations

Michael Uzowuru, who had several credits on this album (not “Yoshinoya”), shared a screenshot of a TDE Punch tweet that reads, “lol”. So, yeah, not much to work with there. But hopefully, all of this chatter around Gambino’s farewell LP will drive up sales in the subsequent weeks. HipHopDX brought to light that his first week numbers have never been amazing. Like most of his releases, they tend to be an acquired taste and we predict that more and more people will come to appreciate what this LP is.

What are your thoughts on Childish Gambino’s “Yoshinoya” producer reacting to the Drake diss theories? Do you think it is a pretty obvious diss record? Where does this song rank in terms of the rest of the Bando Stone and The New World tracklist? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments.
