Nicki Minaj Breaks Another Billboard Record

Nicki just can’t stop winning. The Queen of Rap has yet another record-breaking achievement to list among her endless accomplishments. This time, Nicki has surpassed her fellow Young Money rapper, Drake. According to Chart Data, she now holds the record for the most No.1 hits on the Digital Song Sales chart by a rapper. Nicki has a total of 14, passing up Drake’s previous record of 13. She achieved this with her recent collaboration with Ice Spice, “Princess Diana.” The track just hit the top spot on the chart, reminding people that Nicki’s prowess remains unmatched to this day.

The song is a remix of a single from Ice Spice’s EP that was released earlier this month. It is currently at No.4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, an achievement in and of itself. This accomplishment also adds to her existing record as the female rapper with the most Top 10 hits on the Hot 100 chart. Nicki also just recently scored her first solo number one on the Hot 100 chart with “Red Ruby Da Sneeze.” It should be noted that this is almost impossible for most artists to pull off at Nicki’s stage in their career. It just goes to show that she’s the Queen for a reason.

Nicki: The Generous Queen

Even given the fact that Nicki seems to be gearing up for her follow up to Queen, she isn’t being selfish with her features. In fact, she’s been on quite a few big songs recently. Before she jumped on Ice Spice’s “Princess Diana,” Nicki lent a helping hand to NBA Youngboy. The Queen laid down a verse on the prolific rapper’s single “WTF.” Then, just one week after “Princess Diana” dropped, Kim Petras released her single, “Alone,” which also features Nicki. It seems like she’s really living up to her lyrics on “No Frauds,” her 2017 single. “I would’ve helped you out that pit you fell in,” she raps on the track. “I am the generous Queen! Ask Ms. Ellen.”

For now, the Queen can rest easy knowing that her generosity is helping the up and coming rappers of today. Ice Spice took to Twitter to celebrate their high-charting new collab. “So proud of ‘Princess Diana’ with Nicki like my dream collab really came true. I can die happy now.” Nicki responded in turn, pointing out that Ice Spice has two singles in the Top 10. “Y’ALL!!!!! Two songs in the TOP 10 is crazy!!!!! Congratulations!!! Princesssssss,” she tweeted. What do you think of Nicki’s collab with Ice Spice? Are you excited for more music from the Queen?Let us know in the comments!

Drake Memes: The Best “Drake The Type” By Far

Drake fans have long celebrated the award-winning artist as he has spent the last decade or so dropping hit after hit. He has also proven himself to be a double threat making a splash on screen with roles in the Degrassi Jr. High revival: Degrassi: The Next Generation. But anyone who has spent time online since around 2014 knows Drake’s fame has expanded beyond his musical and acting roles…he has also become the star of some of the best memes floating on the internet to date.

The Drake memes have become an internet favorite, a meme mainstay. What inspired these internet sensations or where the Drake memes originated is unclear. However, these hilarious memes began popping up nearly a decade ago. Since then, they have become a significant part of the meme culture.

Drake The Type of Fella…

One of our favorite meme trends featuring Drizzy is the famous “Drake the type of fella” trend. This is one of the most popular Drake memes to date. Of course you know these memes, which feature a variety of instances in which “Drake is the type of guy” that goes super sensitive in various hilarious instances. This trend is even making a comeback on Twitter.

Fans are having a blast with this resurgence of the meme theme. It seems as if there is no shortage of quips depicting the singer as the “type of fella who…” In fact, meme creators are coming up with some even funnier “Drake the type of fella” jokes years after the trend first hit the internet.

Angel and Devil

The singer’s thoughtful black-and-white pic is the perfect image for this popular series of Drake memes. The idea reflects that Drake is the “type of guy to talk to an angel and devil on his shoulder when contemplating something.” Of course, during his career, Drake has provided fans and meme lovers with plenty of images for these memes. The black and white pic is undoubtedly a favorite, but other poses also get plenty of use in the meme game.

No More Mr. Nice Guy

Another “softer” image of the singer in which he is sporting a buzzcut with a heart shaved out of the front hilariously reveals that Drake “the type of dude to say “no more mister nice guy” when he’s angry.” Of course, since these popular memes have been a big part of pop culture for nearly a decade, they have changed over time. This is especially true as the artist has continued growing in popularity. One of the most popular Drake memes shares side-by-side images of the artist depicting how much the singer has changed over the years.

Certified Lover Boy Gives Us Another Moment

In 2021, the famous artist sparked yet another generation of viral memes after posting a mirror selfie on his Instagram story as his album Certified Lover Boy was set to drop. Naturally, fans found this Drake post hilarious and went to work developing new memes that played right into it. The Insta photo features the singer posing in front of a mirror posing with his hand over his mouth. In the post, Drake is donning an oversized jumper. Some fans even compared the pic with singer Ariana Grande.

The One That Started It All

Then there is the meme that started it all in 2014 or 2015. You know, the one…the meme derived from a still taken from Drake’s wildly popular “Hotline Bling” video. In the video, he shows off several dance moves, an impressive skill we’ve grown to love about the famous performer. The video features Drake making a gesture – for just a split-second – where he is holding up his hand with a disgusted look to show disapproval, followed by a moment where the hip-hop hitmaker is smiling, nodding in approval.

It is the combination of these two images that made meme history. There are dozens of other funny Drake meme moments, and we’re sure many more will come. Drake and his impact on the industry have created a fantastic legacy. These mems only add comedy to his lasting influence.

Drake Added A Dozen Shows To His Highly-Anticipated ‘It’s All A Blur Tour’ With 21 Savage

Drake and 21 Savage initially unveiled their It’s All A Blur Tour in March. There was a promise for an announcement of more shows at a later date. Four days later, 12 shows were added. And today, April 24, another dozen were added, including back-to-back performances at Scotiabank Arena in Drake’s hometown Toronto on October 5 and October 7. October’s Very Own will handle those closing dates without 21 Savage.

According to a press release, Drake and Savage will perform four shows at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center instead of three — same goes for the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California — and It’s All A Blur will now snake through new cities such as Charlotte, Denver, and Memphis. Instead of hitting Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Nashville, New Orleans and Miami between June 16 and July 2, those dates will now take place between September 14 and October 2.

Just as with the original It’s All A Blur tour announcement, there will be a Cash App presale. It begins this Wednesday, April 26 at noon local time and extends through Thursday, April 27, at 10 p.m. local time. Early access to tickets for the new dates will be granted to Cash App holders who submit the first nine digits of their Cash App Card.

Angel Reese Suggests Drake Invited Her To His Toronto Home To Shoot Hoops

Angel Reese faced a polarizing response after her victory with LSU, though the hip-hop community did nothing but celebrate her accomplishments. The LSU Tigers star faced a bit of backlash after taunting Caitlin Clark, though people like Shaq and Lil Wayne praised Reese’s skills on the court. However, it seems like there were a handful of folks who privately extended their congratulatory messages, including some of the most known figures in hip-hop and pop culture.

Reese, alongside her teammate and rising rapper Flau’jae, appeared on The Breakfast Club this morning where they discussed LSU’s win and the celebrity support. NBA Youngboy publicly tried to shoot his shot but DJ Envy asked about the other well-known figures that slid into her DMs. Reese revealed that both Drake and Future slid into her DMs to wish her congratulations. “You said two that you need to stay far away from,” Charlamagne said in response to Drake and Future, leading to a room full of laughter. “They just congratulated me. It’s all congratulations,” Reese clarified.

Drake & Future Slide In Angel Reese’s DMs

In addition to Drake and Future, Reese said that DJ Khaled, who previously linked up with both LSU stars, and French Montana also reached out to her. However, that’s when Envy brought up Drake’s NBA-sized basketball court at his home. “Then Drake gonna say, ‘Yo, you know I got a basketball court at the crib?’ Did he say that yet?” Envy asked. Reese didn’t respond but she and Flau’jae looked at each other before erupting into laughter, which Envy and Charlamagne took as an admission. Whether or not Angel Reese accepted Drake’s invitation has yet to be confirmed.

Even if Reese doesn’t make her way to Toronto, it seems like the Drake connection could be fruitful one way or another. This morning, the rapper added new dates to the It’s All A Blur tour with 21 Savage. Hopefully, Drizzy blessed her with some seats for the upcoming tour to celebrate an incredible season. Check out Reese and Flau’jae’s appearance on The Breakfast Club above and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.
