Megan Thee Stallion Receives Second Mention On “Jeopardy”

Celebrated game show Jeopardy has featured a host of hip-hop artists as answers in their past. Most recently, the series made famous by the late Alex Trebek featured Atlanta rapper JID in their “Fight Songs” category. Kanye West has been name-dropped as well, with his Jesus Is King album appearing on their “GOAT” episode. The latest spitter to be showcased on the set is Houston hottie Megan Thee Stallion, who is currently taking a well-deserved break from social media.

Megan’s compilation album Something for Thee Hotties shows up in Jeopardy’s “Rappers” category. Once new host Mayim Bialik reads the clue off the screen, contestant Lucas presses the buzzer almost immediately. “Who is Megan Thee Stallion,” he answers to the fine tune of $200. Something for Thee Hotties, released back in 2021, hosts both previously unreleased singles and freestyles from the rapper. While this certainly is a clear show of her celebrity, this isn’t the first time the “Plan B” rhymer has been mentioned on the nationally-syndicated series. In 2019, Megan’s “Stallion” moniker was the answer to the following: “Oddly, female rapper Megan Pete calls herself ‘Megan Thee’ this word for a male horse.”

Jeopardy Features Megan Thee Stallion Again In Latest Airing

Megan Thee Stallion has been quite as of late, though she was recently spotted celebrating her birthday. The 28-year-old is currently in the midst of her ongoing legal battles against Tory Lanez. Supporters and spectators alike have continued to comment on the 2020 shooting incident, with no word coming from the hip-hop star since the trial has begun. Others have gone on to show Meg love during her absence, including friend and “Freaky Girls” collaborator SZA. “Jus wanted to show some love to Meg,” the singer wrote. “Your[e] beautiful and we’re all rooting for you [white heart emoji].”

The rapper was also seen on Valentine’s Day with longtime boyfriend Pardison Fontaine. Though there were multiple rumors that the two had split, Pardi went on to dispel the rumors on his Instagram Story. The photo sees the two taking shots out of heart-shaped glasses as they celebrate their love. This comes after Megan’s man wrote “looks like I got the boot” in a new social post.

Vette also shared photos from the shoot today as she announced the song’s release on Instagram. Coi Leray hinted at their collab last week with a teaser snippet, twerking in her Triller video as well. Regardless, the single is sure to go viral like the original, which has already been used in over 477,000 TikTok videos.

Earlier this week, Coi Leray announced yet another major move, this time in the fashion realm. Kay Flock Shows Gains In New Jail Photo

It’s been well over a year since Bronx up-and-comer Kay Flock was taken into custody for the murder of 24-year-old Oscar Hernandez. Police released footage from the Dec. 2021 incident, which sees Kay—real name Kevin Perez—approaching the victim once noticing him in a barber shop. As the 19-year-old awaits trial, he’s unfortunately been hit with yet another charge, this time for racketeering. On Feb. 23, Kay Flock was federally indicted for allegedly running the Sev Side/DOA gang with five others.

In spite of the charges brought against him, the “Make A Movie” drill artist appears to be maintaining behind bars. In a newly-obtained image, a noticeably larger Kay Flock is seen posting up in his cell. Dressed in jail garb and all-white Air Force 1’s, the photo is captioned with lyrics from King Von’s “How It Go” single. Kay updated fans about his case almost one year ago on Instagram, letting them know not to “believe the blogs or the internet” as “all is good.” In a recent phone call he’s heard saying “I’ll be back real soon, 2023 March, ya heard?” As we enter the month in question, that sadly doesn’t seem to be happening.

Kay Flock Shows Off His Progress

Jeffrey Lichtman, former attorney of El Chapo, announced he will be taking on the murder case in July 2022. Calling Kay Flock “a good kid,” Lichtman writes: “I’m looking forward to winning his trial. When the facts come out I think people will be shocked he was even charged.” He also claims it was an act of self-defense, as Kay was presented with no other options. He expounded on the cases in a recent interview with Fox 5’s Lisa Evers, as well as his new podcast, Beyond the Legal Limit. The episode, released Monday (Feb. 27) can now be streamed on Apple, Spotify, and iHeartRadio.

In the interim, Kay Flock has continued to release new music, with his latest offering having dropped in December. The D.O.A. Tape: Care Package is an extension to his debut, and sees previously released records like “Geeked Up” with Gucci Mane and Flock’s Cardi-B-assisted “Shake It” single.

Lil Durk Issues Warning: “Your Release Date Ain’t Safe Son Son”

Lil Durk’s been cooking something up but he hasn’t necessarily revealed many details. He confirmed that an album’s on the way, though he hasn’t mentioned the project’s title or a release date. However, he continues to tease its release. A few weeks ago, he announced the project would drop at midnight though fans didn’t find anything new on streaming services. Fans continue to await his follow-up to 7220, which arrived roughly a year ago.

There have been rumors about what he’s been working on. Durk and Metro Boomin haven’t lost hope surrounding their anticipation collaborative project, No Auto Durk. The two announced the project as early as 2020 but last year, they confirmed that it’s still on the way. Still, they haven’t provided a timeline of when to expect it. However, he’s also hinted at working on another collaborative project with an unnamed artist. Following the success of “Mad Max,” fans expressed how a joint project from Future and Lil Durk is long overdue.

Lil Durk Won’t Change His Release Date For Anyone

There have been a number of artists who’ve pushed back their release date in hopes that won’t collide with a bigger artist. A Boogie With Da Hoodie said as much last year when he pushed back Me Vs. Myself by a month due to Drake and 21 Savage’s Her Loss dropping on the same day. However, Durk isn’t shook by the competition. In fact, he said that he’s willing to drop a new single at any moment with confidence that it’ll shake up hip-hop.

“I can drop this single and f*ck the streets up on god,” he wrote on Instagram this week. “Your release date ain’t safe son son.” Though it’s unclear who this warning is directed to, it appears that he could be readying his next single sometime soon. The rapper recently expressed how his next project “ain’t regular,” so it seems that whatever he’s working on will be well worth the wait. Hopefully, he drops a release date on us or at the very least, a new single in the coming months. Check out Durk’s comments above and sound off in the comments with your thoughts.

“Harlem” Actress Jerrie Johnson Accuses Film Director Marc Cayce Of Sexual Assualt

After attending a movie premiere after party, actress Jerrie Johnson took to her Instagram earlier today (February 28) to share a disturbing encounter. She recounts being introduced to movie director Marc Cayce by a mutual friend. Following an unfriendly first meeting, Cayce allegedly disgraces Johnson’s gender identity and sexually assaults her. The actress, known for her work in Harlem, explained the situation while calling out the filmmaker for the interaction. “He whispered in my ear, ‘I don’t want to hurt your feelings brother,’” Johnson recalled, “and I said ‘My feelings don’t get hurt and why are you calling me brother, I’m not a brother,’ and this man proceeded to pinch my nipple.”

Johnson noted that Cayce had also nonconsensually “smacked” her friend’s butt earlier in the evening. In her post, the star included a screenshot of the 56-year-old’s profile alongside a google search of him. Cayce, who gained recognition for his first film, Nikita Blues, also is noted as a movie writer and producer. He has yet to address the claims Johnson has publically made against him.

Jerrie Johnson Calls Out Marc Cayce For “Disgusting” Experience

The 29-year-old actress concluded the post with a message: “Listen, I’m the wrong one. I don’t care about LA culture or industry culture or any of that- you should not be touching people inappropriately for ANY REASON.” Further, Johnson reflects that the interaction was “disgusting” and “inappropriate.”

Johnson, who identifies as a queer woman, recently reflected on her nonbinary identity, which she described to AutoStraddle. “This binary is so new and so American and so beneficial to the patriarchy and white supremacy, that I feel like it would be a disservice for me and my legacy for me to feed into any type of binary,” she described regarding her portrayal of Tye in Harlem, as well as her personal life. The actress goes on to explain the comedy show’s representation of diversity, noting the importance of “how we’re presenting people, how we’re writing things, how we’re casting things so that people can see people like me in more of a nuance across different mediums in the industry.” Season two of Harlem aired on Prime Video earlier this month. Toosii Defends The LGBTQIA+ Community In New IG Story

Raleigh-bred artist Toosii has had enough of the insults when it comes to the LGBTQIA+ community. The rapper, who’s amassed over 500 million views across his YouTube channel, took to Instagram to defend his stance recently. While it’s not known what sparked the outburst, the Syracuse native mentioned attacks on us all in one late-night post. “I get on the internet everyday and see us attacking us. S**t getting overrated [one-hundred emoji],” Toosii tweeted yesterday evening.

At the beginning of the now-viral clip, the man behind “Magic Potion” warns viewers he’s unbothered by their commentary. “It is what it is at the end of the day,” Toosii continues. He then begins to deliver a speech about those who call others gay as a form of insult. “If being straight [is] not an insult, why is being gay an insult?,” the 23-year-old challenges. “You’re trying to use calling a person gay as an insult. Them is the motherf***ers that really need to be attacked, feel me?”

Toosii Takes Up For Those Called Gay As An Insult

As responses rolled in from both sides of the debate, Toosii retweeted @SaycheeseDGTL’s repost with a few more words of his own. Commenters under their tweet were noticeably negative, with a majority of them proving his point. One tweeter tells him to shut his “pandering a** up. You sound suspect as hell!” In response to this, a Toosii supporter says the user should seek therapy as their “sexuality must be EXTREMELY fragile!” Another commentator mentions “The replies speak volumes” as others continue to hurl homosexual allegations toward the star. “[Thumbs down emoji] [The] comment section lame…,” Toosii began before confirming his own sexuality. “Shout out to the LGBTQ community be ya self! And this coming from a STRAIGHT MAN. I send my love to everybody I don’t got a hating bone in my body!”

Toosii then went on to celebrate his first Billboard entry for “Favorite Song,” which sits at No. 51 on the Hot 100 Chart. According to the site, the track has garnered over 9.7 million streams since its release. TikTokers have used the sped-up adaptation over 300,000 times thus far. “Favorite Song” follows Toosii’s 2022 deluxe EP, Boys Don’t Cry: Men Do.

Fredo Bang Flirts With GloRilla On Instagram Live

With GloRilla fresh out of her major breakout year, it’s not surprising for her to receive love offers from her male counterparts. Surely they’re fans like the rest of us after getting to know the animated rapper through her socials. In October 2022, Kodak Black jumped on Glo’s Live in an effort to get her attention, using her own lyrics to flirt with the rising star. Now, Fredo Bang has entered the chat, and he has no shame as he clamors for GloRilla’s love, too.

The Shade Room caught wind of the “One Up” rhymer’s comments during her latest live. Bang made multiple plays at the CMG signee, starting with a comment about her lips. As it went seemingly unnoticed, Fredo continued on with a few vows to prove he’s committed. “I’ll be crazy about you…I’ll never hold you [back],” he alleges. He even goes on to serenade the “Better Thangs” feature with a line from 21 Savage’s “Spin About U,” verse. Still, GloRilla seemed to pay no mind as he asked “What’s yo [finsta f**k] yo main page i wanna know the real you.”

Fredo Bang Makes A Play Towards GloRilla Online

”It’s like the industry men [are] in a race to see who can get to her first [eye-rolling emoji,” one user noted. Others questioned his validity seeing he’s made advances to others in the past, including Reginae Carter. In a reminder to GloRilla, another fan wrote “Girl remember why you made that track FNF in the first place.” Glo has yet to respond to Fredo, but if he’s anything like the men she speaks about from her past, he may want to pack it up. The “On Wat U On” rapper has rules now, which include receiving money from her suitor prospects.

During On The Come Up interview, GloRilla explains how she “felt free for once” after ditching toxic men. “I wasn’t messed up by no dude, I wasn’t worried bout ‘em. I felt single and free,” she adds, which led to the creation of her inaugural single. In tweets from November, GloRilla reveals her and a friend took part in 60-day cleanse prior to recording the song. The women went two months without indulging in vices “because we said we couldn’t go into 2022 the same way we did last year.” This also included working out five days a week and upping their water intake.

Drake Re-Follows Ice Spice On Instagram

Drake has re-followed Bronx rapper Ice Spice on Instagram, as caught by The Shade Room. Drake unfollowed the up-and-coming rapper in September after inviting her to OVO Fest, earlier that year. He also seemed to be dissing her on the Her Loss track “BackOutsideBoyz.” He rapped, “She a ten tryna rap, it’s good on mute, yeah.” Although unconfirmed, fans assumed the lyric was a reference to Spice. She responded to the controversy on Twitter at the time by joking, “at least ima 10.”

When Drake originally unfollowed Ice Spice, she admitted that she took note, although Spice added that it’s still “all love” between them. “He did [unfollow],” she said on BET’s Rap City 22. “I don’t know why though.”

Spice also recalled the first time that Drake messaged her on social media. “So, when he first hit me up, I had just landed in LAX for my Munch Open Mic, right?” she told host DJ Blue Diamond. “And, he was like, ‘Yo, ‘Munch’ is hard. You’re On the Radar freestyle was hard.’ And, I was like, ‘Damn, like, can I post this with the release date? And, he was like, ‘Yeah, yeah. Thanks for asking. Matter of fact, you should come to OVO Fest.’”

As for how her time at OVO Fest ended up going, she discussed the trip with RapCaviar in an interview afterward. “He’s mad nice and respectful,” Spice said of Drake. “We went to OVO Fest. It was exciting because it was like his first time performing in Toronto, I think in like a couple of years. So it was just a movie, everybody was excited. The energy was high. Nicki [Minaj] performed, it was lit. [Lil] Wayne did his thing. That shit was crazy.”

On the music front, Spice and PinkPantheress’ “Boy’s a Liar, Pt. 2” moved up to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week. The ranking is the highest of both artists’ careers. It was also the week’s most-streamed song.
