Ja Morant Flashes Gun On Instagram Live…Again

Ja Morant is the future of the Memphis Grizzlies. Drafted second overall in 2019, the guard has a career average of 22.4 points, 7.4 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game. Furthermore, he has come into his own in the past two seasons. If his production continues, he could grow into an MVP candidate and help make the Grizzlies a perennial contender.

However, the 2022-23 season had its low points for Morant. There was the embarrassing first-round exit to the seven-seed Lakers. Then Morant missed out on a $39 million contract bonus for failing to make an All-NBA team. However, the most notable incident relating to Morant this past season was an eight-game suspension. Morant received the punishment for flashing a gun during an Instagram Live stream at a nightclub.

New Day, Same Morant

Remember what we just said about Morant serving an eight-game suspension for flashing a gun while on Instagram Live? Well, Morant’s gone and done it again. During an Instagram Live stream on Saturday, Morant once again flashed a firearm to the camera. At the time, he and a friend were driving, with Morant in the passenger seat. While his friend quickly attempted to cover for Morant, screenshots were quickly taken and spread across social media. Comments from the live stream caught in the screenshots can be seen asking things like “You know you have an active cam”. However, Morant appeared to be very aware of what was happening when he flashed the firearm.

“Bro on pace to do some generational bag fumbling,” one commentator wrote on a DJ Akademiks post sharing the footage of Morant. No official comment from the Grizzlies or NBA has been released about the new footage of Morant. Furthermore, it’s unclear if disciplinary action will be pursued, as the story is still developing. However, despite saying he was “completely sorry” for the incident that saw him suspended eight games, he’s done the exact same thing once again. If the NBA does choose to punish him for this, we can likely expect the punishment to be much more severe than his initial eight-game suspension. HotNewHipHop has reached out to the NBA for comment. Any updates on the case can be found here on HotNewHipHop.

Soulja Boy Goes Off On NBA YoungBoy: “You Don’t Wanna Meet Me N*gga!”

Even with the nearly 10-year age gap between them, Soulja Boy continues to carry on his beef with NBA YoungBoy, who threw out plenty of shots on his Richest Opp mixtape that arrived at midnight on Friday (May 12). Even before unleashing his third project of the year, the Louisana native found himself feuding with the “Pretty Boy Swag” hitmaker after he vented about both YB and Lil Durk during an Instagram Live session. Of course, the latter two lyricists have long-standing issues of their own that also made headlines today, along with more social media slander from Soulja.

Earlier this afternoon, the Chicago-born artist began streaming for his millions of followers, not hesitating to get a few things off his chest. “You can’t wait to meet what? Bot, what the f*ck you said?” Soulja popped off in response to a tweet from YoungBoy saying “It’s gone be nice to meet [him] too.” As he continued to speak, things only got more amped up, eventually including threats aimed at the 23-year-old. “Boy, you don’t want to meet me, n*gga! This shit ain’t sweet. This ain’t no meet-and-greet, n*gga!”

Soulja Boy Isn’t Feeling NBA YoungBoy

“I can’t wait to meet you too, n*gga,” Soulja sarcastically added before slapping his phone out of anger. “Bring your p*ssy ass out the house. You can’t come outside. On God, you on house arrest. F*ck you talking about? Matter fact, you can text me the address. We’ll come to you, n*gga,” the 32-year-old proposes to his op. “We can come to Utah.” Elsewhere, the “Crank That” artist makes comments about putting more dents in YB’s head, among other hateful antics.

We’re still awaiting a response from NBA YoungBoy, though he’s certainly been busy on social media over the past few days. Aside from going back and forth with Soulja Boy, he also took a moment to explain his bars dissing Lil Yachty on “F*ck The Industry Pt. 2,” and threw shade at Lil Durk after the father of six rescheduled his album release date from today. Which rap beef are you most invested in right now? Let us know in the comments, and tap back in later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Nicki Minaj Asks Kai Cenat To Show Off His Bedroom Moves

Nicki Minaj may be a legendary rapper, but it doesn’t mean she won’t mingle with people who aren’t on the same level. The Queen of Rap’s impressive track record can’t be denied. Much of the current generation of female rappers, such as Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, and the City Girls, have been inspired by her. Despite her already-established success, Nicki is always looking for ways to reinvent herself. She often does this by releasing new music, but she also stays engaged with youth culture to maintain her connection with fans.

Recently, Nicki has expressed interest in entering the world of Twitch streaming. She has shown support for one of the platform’s most popular streamers, Kai Cenat. After he was banned from the platform, she publicly stood up for him via her social media. When he was finally allowed back, Nicki messaged him while he was streaming. It led to a hilarious response from the streamer. He jumped out of his chair and began pacing around the room. Today, Nicki and Kai Cenat went live on Instagram together.

Nicki Asks Kai To Show How He Whines

Nicki Minaj and Brooke Bailey went live together earlier and had Kai Cenat join them. The clip above was screen recorded and posted to The Shade Room’s Instagram page. In it, Nicki and Kai talk about his moves in the bedroom. It starts with Kai showing off how he moves his hips. The three of them laugh, and Nicki asks the all-important question: “So how you be whinin’ in it?” Kai responds by moving his camera backward so the audience can see his whole body as he gyrates. The two women cheered him on, but Nicki wasn’t done with her line of questioning.

The Queen of Rap had another important question for Kai. “Now, are you a cuddler after?” Nicki asked in a serious tone. “Because I’m not. See, once I get my n*t, I’m out.” The streamer pointed out that his main objective is to please. When Nicki starts to bring up her “three times a night” rule, Kai says that he can make it to seven rounds and refers to himself as the “Terminator.” If the pair’s Instagram Live session is any indication, a Nicki guest spot on Kai’s Twitch stream would be extremely entertaining. Stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Nicki.

NBA YoungBoy Blasts DJ Akademiks For Thinking He Cares About Numbers

NBA YoungBoy just lit a fire online (albeit an unsurprising one), and doused some gasoline on it on Instagram Live. Moreover, the rapper took to the social media platform following his bold Twitter disses towards Lil Durk, DJ Akademiks, and India Royale. However, it seems like Ak was the main target of YB’s ire this time around, as he previously focused on Durk and their upcoming sales battle this week. Furthermore, the Baton Rouge MC fired off at the media personality for assuming that he’s throwing these jabs out to get more numbers behind his upcoming mixtape. All in all, it feels like he’d be happy with ten album sales if it meant speaking his mind.

“This p***y a** n***a Akademiks,” YoungBoy began his rant, which he embarked on while playing his music. “Actin’ like I give a f**k about numbers. B***h, I just dropped two weeks ago. This p***y n***a finna drop. B***h, I ain’t worried about no numbers, n***a. B***h a** n***a, big bank take lil’ bank. Your stupid drink face a**. That’s all you like to do, b***h, is get drunk and talk s**t. That one gon’ get you f***ed up.” He seemingly didn’t address Durk directly, who already responded to him, it seems.

NBA YoungBoy Fires Off On DJ Akademiks On Instagram Live

Meanwhile, Akademiks had this to say concerning YoungBoy’s Twitter tirades. “Lol I never thought I see the day my homie diss me cuz his sales low,” he posted on Twitter. “This rap game is the devil lol. Youngboy I forgive u man. We can get them sales up otherwise… lol. But ok. Capitol Records I blame u for this… y’all pressuring YB to get some sales he doing anything. Get my boy off house arrest tho. YB the last rapper I thought would ever do some s**t for sales. But damn. Go buy his album it drops Friday… He’s tryna outsell Lil Durk. I still love him thc. Buy his project.”

Of course, the main event at this showdown is between the Don’t Try This At Home MC and Lil Durk, who will drop his album Almost Healed the same day as YB’s mixtape Richest Opp. Though fans hoped they had put their differences aside, it seems like it’s just business as usual for the two. Hopefully rap fans still get two great projects as a result, and this spat doesn’t get any uglier. On that note, if you want the latest updates and news on NBA YoungBoy, stick around on HNHH.

Blueface’s Mom Argues With Fan About Her Son & Chrisean Rock On IG Live: Watch

As she progresses in her pregnancy, 23-year-old Chrisean Rock continues to find herself caught up in drama with her baby daddy, Blueface, and his mother, Karlissa Saffold. A few days ago, the rapper’s family matriarch alleged on social media that her next grandchild will be a boy, after previously claiming that Rock was lying about the whole situation. Just last month, the young reality starlet revealed on Instagram Live that she had doubts about keeping her baby. Seeing as she’s now 20 weeks along and it’s far too late to consider an abortion, Chrisean has been soldiering on, even as the online berating from Blueface’s mother continues.

Over the weekend, Saffold went Live to get a few things off her chest as hundreds of fans tuned in. “I shouldn’t have been a part of that interview,” she yelled, referring to a recent sitdown of Rock’s during which Karlissa’s name came up in conversation. “It should’ve been about her music, my son. I shouldn’t have been a part of that interview. I’ve been added to every interview that they’ve ever done! So guess what? Somebody wants me here talking about it,” Blueface’s mom continued to rant, claiming that she’s a topic of discussion every time the Crazy In Love co-stars speak with the press.

Karlissa Saffold Vents About Blueface and Chrisean Rock

As the clip continues, Saffold and a fan obnoxiously argue about the validity of her claims. While the former asserts that Rock regularly refuses to skip questions from interviewers, the latter shut that down, saying that the Maryland native has done just that in the past. “I watch every interview, I’m tuned in. I follow Blue, I follow Rock, I follow you,” they clapped back at Karlissa, making their credentials abundantly clear.

After some more back-and-forth, the video cuts before the rapper’s embattled parent suggests they add someone else to the Live. In the comment section on @theneighborhoodtalk’s repost, many are expressing gratitude to have their mother instead of one who engages in such damaging, toxic online behaviour. “Aht Aht! You said if she really pregnant you would get off Instagram! 😂😂😂😂😂,” one user joked. “I wish this lady would go ahead and say she in love with her son and get it over with,” another added. Watch Karlissa Saffold’s full IG Live rant above, and tap back in later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Chrisean Rock’s Pregnancy Journey Takes A Turn: “I’m Not In The Mood For None Of The Baby Traditions & Shit”

Chrisean Rock has been proudly showing off her baby bump in recent weeks. Though the 23-year-old has been glowing in many of her latest posts, she told fans on Instagram Live this week that she no longer feels excited about the journey she’s on. Her pregnancy journey has been nothing short of a rollercoaster so far, with her baby daddy, Blueface, regularly throwing shade online, along with his mother. Aside from the relationship drama, Rock has also heard millions of people online share their opinion on her plans for her body. Some of them even encouraged her to terminate until she’s had more time to grow into the role of a mother figure.

For the most part, the Maryland native has been showing plenty of growth, though there have been slip-ups along the way. While she seemed to be back on top of the world after debuting a new look featuring a fake tooth to conceal her gap and bold blue hair, that’s since changed, as she told us during her weekend stream. “I wish I wasn’t pregnant,” Rock admitted as comments and questions poured in from viewers. “I was excited at first, but now I’m just like, ‘Oh…’”

Chrisean Rock Updates Fans on Her Pregnancy

When asked when she plans to do a gender reveal for her and Blueface’s little one, the Crazy In Love star admitted she wasn’t sure, and hasn’t exactly been in the mood for normal festivities that come along with pregnancy. “That’s how I feel, I’m not in the mood for any of the baby traditions and shit,” Rock said. Aside from her words, sadness was evident in the embattled entertainer’s energy as well. Instead of her usual upbeat self, she sounded drained and unconcerned with the lead-up to her first child’s birth.

While Chrisean Rock has been airing out her feelings on Live, her on-again-off-again lover also spoke candidly about his first impressions of her. To say the least, they’re very unflattering, with Blueface stating that he “hated” his second baby mama when he first met her, though he still wound up signing her. Yeat Teases New Young Thug Collab

Yeat continues to level up and get fans excited about what’s to come, with the help of none other than Young Thug. Recently, the California-born MC took to Instagram Live to preview some new music, including a brand new track with Thugger. For those unaware, the two previously linked up on the track “Outsidë” from Yeat’s 2022 album 2 Alivë. On this new teaser, both rappers float over eerie synth pads, sharp snares and hi-hats, booming bass, and a generally trippy atmosphere complete with additional synth melodies. Whether the track will drop sooner rather than later remains to be seen, but fans can’t wait for their reunion.

Unfortunately, any new Young Thug feature will come with its fair share of sadness and frustration. The YSL leader and 13 other defendants face hefty RICO charges that have dominated headlines and music news coverage for almost a year. However, the “Check” artist showed high spirits and determination in new courtroom footage, which at least has his fans touched and hopeful that things won’t be so bad. In addition, prominent industry figures like Metro Boomin updated audiences on his well-being and continue to show their support.

Young Thug & Yeat Might Have A New Song On The Way

Regardless of how his legal ordeal will conclude, Young Thug and Yeat is a combination of two rabid fanbases and eccentric styles. As such, it’s no wonder why a new track from them would elicit a lot of excitement and anticipation. After all, the “Monëy so big” MC has audiences going crazy at pretty much every live show he does. Most recently, he brought out Lil Uzi Vert and they had a blast on stage together, speaking to their artistic and personal chemistry.

Meanwhile, Yeat’s most recent album AftërLyfe is quite the lengthy but also energizing experience, not unlike one of Young Thug’s most recent albums, So Much Fun. There’s clearly a lot of chemistry here, although it’s unclear if they recorded or worked on this before Thug’s arrest. Despite that uncertainty, the context surrounding him could never deter fans from wanting to hear more from the Atlanta rap pioneer. For more news and updates on Young Thug and Yeat, stay posted on HNHH for the latest happenings.

Doja Cat Trolls Fans And Previews New Album

Recently, Doja Cat’s Twitter account lost its verified blue tick. Her behavior on social media has drawn criticism from various sources, including her own fans. Despite this, Doja appears unfazed and continues to post tweets that may seem senseless or offensive. However, a glance at her Twitter feed provides insight into her motives. In a tweet, she mentioned finding joy in deliberately engaging in peculiar behavior to make people uncomfortable, particularly those who believe in Illuminati conspiracy theories.

Doja Cat expressed frustration and anger in response to losing her verified blue tick on Twitter. She stated that paying for the tick may imply being a “complete loser” that is seeking validation from famous individuals. Prior to this, her fans had playfully teased her about losing verification. Nevertheless, it appears that despite the online antics and criticism, Doja Cat remains determined to continue focusing on her music career. As such, she has been teasing a new album quite a bit recently. Additionally, she just hopped on to SZA’s “Kill Bill” as a feature, which has received a lot of positive feedback.

Doja Previews New Album… Sort of

Earlier today, Doja hopped onto her Instagram Live to give a preview of her new album. Sort of. On the live video, which was screen recorded by fans, Doja previews a few seconds from each song. When fans ask for more, she plays them one second from the beginning and one second from the middle of each song. While this sounds like nothing, it actually gives a pretty good insight into how the album may sound. For a moment, Doja showed off her new tattoo while talking to an unseen boyfriend (whom she refers to as “babe”). Then, as fans continue to ask for more, the artist reverts back to her typical trolling behavior.

Doja spends most of the last half of the live playing songs “from the album.” However, they are just hilariously bad beats that she is finding in the moment on YouTube. Though it may have been frustrating for some fans, Doja was clearly having a great time. What do you think of Doja’s live? Are you excited for the new album? Sound off in the comments to let us know!

The Weeknd Teases New Future Collab, Fans Say It’s “About To Be The Most Toxic Track Of The Century”

The Weeknd’s primary focus over the past few months has been his forthcoming HBO series, The Idol, but on Monday (April 10) night, the Canadian made it clear that he’s back in the studio working on his music. In fact, he’s got an incredible-sounding new collaboration with Future in the works, which he teased during last night’s Instagram Live session. During his stream, Abel Tesfaye confirmed that Mike Dean is responsible for the song’s production, which pairs perfectly with his beautiful vocals.

“Baby girl, I can tell that you think that I’m right for you / I already know that it’s not true, but girl I lie to you / Even though it’s wrong,” the R&B vocalist sings on the unnamed, unreleased joint effort. An official release date remains unknown at this time, though social media users have already declared it “the most toxic track of the century.” Elsewhere in the comments, someone pointed out that “Drake, Future, and The Weeknd world tour would do Celine Dion numbers.”

The Weeknd Previews Upcoming Music With Future on Live

Of course, this won’t be the first time we hear Hendrix and the Uncut Gems actor on the same beat. Their past collaborations include titles like “Low Life” from Future’s EVOL project, “Comin Out Strong” from his HNDRXX effort, and “All I Know,” which appears on the Toronto native’s Starboy. Seeing as all of those have gone on to find major success with listeners, it’s not shocking to see them connecting in the studio once again in hopes of making magic.

It remains unclear if Tesfaye is currently working on his follow-up to 2022’s DAWN FM, or if he’s simply experimenting with new sounds in the meantime. His most recent arrivals include “Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength)” from the Avatar 2 soundtrack, as well as his Live At SoFi Stadium and Starboy (Deluxe) from earlier this year. Revisit one of The Weeknd and Future’s most popular past releases below, and make sure to check back later for more hip-hop and pop culture news updates.

21 Savage Shows Off His Vocal Skills To Beyoncé’s Version Of “I’d Rather Go Blind” On Live

21 Savage is obviously best known for his rap skills. However, earlier this week, the 30-year-old was quick to prove us that putting together rhymes isn’t his only talent. Ahead of his quickly approaching It’s All A Blur tour with Drake – which has been markedly criticized for listing incredibly high ticket prices – the Saint Laurent Don opted to put on a free show for fans via Instagram Live, this one focusing on his vocal cover talents rather than hits from his own discography. It appears he may have been in his feelings while streaming, as 21’s song selection was a particularly emotional Beyoncé rendition of an Etta James classic that he poured plenty of passion into.

While nearly 7,000 followers tuned in, the “10 Freaky Girls” hitmaker sang along to “I’d Rather Go Blind,” which was first released by the renowned vocalist in 1968. The original cut is undeniably amazing, but for his show, 21 Savage opted to sing along to the RENAISSANCE starlet’s reimagining of it from 2008’s Cadillac Records. In the film Beyoncé played the role of Etta herself, starring alongside other names like Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright, and Mos Def, who played Chuck Berry.

21 Savage Does Something for His Fans

“Something told me it was over / When I saw you and her talking deep,” the Her Loss hitmaker croons while viewers left words of encouragement (and some hate) in the comments. “Something deep down in my soul said cry girl / When I saw you and that girl walking around whoo ooh,” 21 completes the first verse before launching to an even more soulful chorus. “I’m feelin’ this vibe,” one person cheered the UK-born artist on. “Go head on shawty,” another joked.

It was certainly an unexpected karaoke session for 21 Savage lovers tuning into his Instagram Live session. Regardless, many were happy to see the performer having fun, and potentially even manifesting a future collaboration with Queen B for himself. Take a trip back in time with Beyoncé’s cut of “I’d Rather Go Blind” from 2008’s Cadillac Records below, and check back later for more music news updates.
