4batz Shares Surprising Response To Industry Plant Allegations

Texas singer 4batz has experienced a meteoric rise to fame in 2024. He began the year as a relative unknown. But shortly after he began to rapidly rise in profile. That came when his song “date @ 8” began to take off on TikTok. That eventually translated into radio success as well and the song made its debut on the Hot 100 shortly after. The track didn’t hit its peak on the chart until Drake teamed up with the breakthrough singer for a remix of the track. It peaked at number 7 the next week and has stuck around on the charts landing at number 63 this week.

Like almost any artist who experiences such a substantial rise to fame, 4batz has faced allegations of being an industry plant. During a recent interview with GQ he was asked about the allegations and gave a pretty surprising answer. “I think it’s kind of cool, It’s like I’m the boogeyman. People are going to meet me and be like, Oh, this is a regular hood n*gga,” he replied. It came during an interview where he got candid about the experiences in his life that led him to depression and homelessness before catching his big break. 4batz Doesn’t Mind Being The “Boogeyman”

The industry plant allegations aren’t being levelled at 4batz just because of his association with Drake and his new deal with OVO. He’s also been working with Kanye West recently. Video of the pair in the studio together made the rounds earlier this month. It led to fans suspecting that he could make an appearance on VULTURES 2.

Kai Cenat is one of the biggest streamers on Twitch right now. Overall, he has built an exceptional brand through streaming. He has millions of followers on the platform, and he was one of the most subscribed to creators. Although he has had his fair share of controversies, there is no doubt that the fans still rock with him. Now, however, it seems as though Kai is at odds with none other than Kanye West. When Ye gets mad at someone, he will typically hold the grudge, and that has held true for his issues with Cenat.

It all started when Kai bought some Yeezy pants from Ye’s website. Once he got the clothes, he quickly realized that they didn’t fit very well. This led to a hilarious moment on stream that Ye did not find particularly funny. He eventually got into Kai’s DMs and accused him of being paid off by Adidas. Subsequently, during an interview with Justin Laboy, Ye claimed that Cenat was an “industry plant.” During his most recent stream, Cenat decided to address this comment, and he did not hold back.

Kai Cenat Responds

As you can see in the video above, Cenat notes that he has been streaming and making content since 2018. Furthermore, he makes it clear that this feud should have never happened, in the first place. Had Ye just sent him some pants that fit, there would be no problems. Either way, it feels like a feud that was very easily avoidable. Hopefully, cooler heads can prevail here, and the two get on some good terms.

Kanye West Calls Kai Cenat An Industry Plant: “He’s On The Wrong Side”

Kanye West is not happy. The controversial rapper went absolutely nuclear during his recent appearance on The Download podcast. He premiered a remix of the diss track “Like That,” vowed to help bring about the “elimination of Drake,” and dismissed J. Cole outright. In the midst of these inflammatory statements, West found time to address hip-hop streamer Kai Cenat. He claimed Cenat was a textbook example of an “industry plant,” and someone who peddled lies in order to profit from artists. “[Kai] is on the wrong side of the future,” he asserted.

Kanye West did not appreciate the fact that Cenat posted negative things about his Yeezy fashion line on social media. “If you posting something negative you just on the wrong side of the future,” he explained. “We out here, stepping away from Adidas. The sh*t that Kai sent, that’s some industry plant sh*t.” West was asked by the Download host whether he actually thought Cenat was a plant, and he doubled down. “Of course!,” he exclaimed. “That exact genre is the most industry plant. It’s about like, influence and mind control.”

Kanye West Criticized Cenat For Spreading Negativity

The thing that really angered West, however, was when Cenat made reference to West’s daughter North during a stream. “Then he’s gonna mention my daughter’s name,” the rapper noted. “Don’t mention my daughter’s name and then you dissing what’s paying their $200,000 a month child support. That don’t make God happy.” Kanye West’s comments on Kai Cenat shouldn’t come as a surprise to fans, given the tension between them in recent weeks. The latter criticized West’s clothing line during a stream, and the rapper sent him an Instagram DM. Cenat shared the DM with fans, which led to him getting on the phone with West’s manager, John Monopoly.

It’s ironic that Kanye West is criticizing Cenat for negativity during an interview in which he’s blatantly attacking other people. West has a long track record of not practicing what he preaches, however, so it’s par for the course. The rapper also confirmed that he’ll be releasing Vultures 2, his second collaboration album with Ty Dolla $ign, on May 3. It was originally supposed to drop in March, but was delayed by a few months because West was “still in the lab” making changes.

During the live, he candidly addressed the speculations surrounding his success and how he obtained it. Furthermore, he provided insights into his journey in the music industry. In the Instagram Live session, often referred to as Joey Crack by his fans, he addressed the prevalent misconceptions surrounding his achievements and celebrity status. Specifically, he shut down any link to the illuminati. Instead, he emphasized the significance of hard work and dedication in his life’s story.

“Some people start makin’ excuses and sayin’, ‘Yoo, they livin’ like that ’cause they did this, they Illuminati, they signed with a cult, they did this,’” Fat Joe began. He expressed his frustration at the tendency of some to attribute success to conspiracy theories or secret societies. Instead, he argued that his path to success was paved by relentless effort and a strong work ethic. In a world where the music industry can often be shrouded in mystery and intrigue, rumors of artists’ involvement in organizations such as the illuminati have persisted. Fat Joe, however, set the record straight, declaring that he has never crossed paths with the Illuminati or any other similar group.

The theories surrounding illuminati talk are even prevalent among other celebrities. One Twitter/X user had accused her in a since-deleted post, writing, “Latto has to be an industry plant i sorry.” The “Put It On Da Floor” performer was sure to let them know that she’s not, and to remind them how much work she’s put in to reach the level she’s at in her career.

“I been doing this since a kid & I get real love/respect from the greats for that,” she began. “I came up before social media I handed out mixtapes, did open mics & talent shows, etc I hate when y’all say this.” She continued, “I worked VERY long & hard to be here. Being relevant since 16yo is not easy or common.“

Latto Denies Being An Industry Plant

After she replied to the comment, various other users rushed to her defense in the comments section. Many note how frustrating it must be to have your talents overlooked, and to be accused of getting an easy ride to the top. Latto appears to agree. She replied to a fan who was advocating for her, telling their followers, “Y’all… Latto was on the rap game and she was easily the best one there. She has been working hard to be where she is now.” Latto’s response was simple. “Even before the rap game tho,” she added. Clearly, Latto’s not playing about her career, and doesn’t appreciate the speculation.

Birdman says that he’s not going to take anything away from anyone in the music industry because he’s experienced just how cut-throat it can be. When asked about Kanye West labeling Cardi B an industry plant in a recently resurfaced documentary, the Cash Money mogul declined to comment.

Cardi B Says Labels Only Put Money Behind Female Artists That People Actually Listen To

In the years since Cardi B emerged, women have had a bigger presence in hip-hop than in any other era prior. However, these same women have also faced their fair share of criticism as Cardi B has. The Invasion of Privacy star, for instance, was propelled to stardom off the strength of “Bodak Yellow,” leading many to believe that she’s an “industry plant.” It’s an easy allegation to throw around without necessarily looking past the years leading up to the success of her break-out hit.

The “Up” rapper detailed the industry politics when it comes to signing female rappers and it’s not so different than their male counterparts. “The record labels are putting money behind the girls that people listening to,” she explained. As a result, different artists are coming up faster than others. “The labels only go with who’s getting the most listens, who are getting the most plays, who are people watching more,” she added. “You can not blame nobody for that, you can’t blame no machine for that. You can’t blame nothing for that. Labels are only going to put money behind artists that people are listening to.”

Cardi B Explains Industry Politics

Cardi went on to explain that the labels base their budget on analytics. Artists who aren’t bringing in significant streams will receive less attention and funds than those that are trending on DSPs. “Labels are only going to put money behind artists that people are listening to. And you can’t hate on that,” she added. “You can’t hate on nobody else’s come up. ‘Cause everybody going to be like, ‘Huh, the label’s putting more money behind this…’ They do analytics. Whoever the people are listening to, they’re going to put money behind it,” she said.

Although it seems unfair, given the disparities between marketability vs. talent these days, Cardi thinks that people’s fanbases need to do the groundwork. In short, she believes that people need to support their favorite artists, whether that’s streaming their music heavily or introducing them to bigger audiences. “Promote their shit, make a fanbase for them. Once the labels start seeing that – they have a hard following – they gonna follow up. You can’t hate on the game. That’s the game,” she added. Check Cardi’s comments above. 

Jack Harlow Responds To Not Being In Lil Nas X’s ‘Industry Plant’ Naked Shower Scene: ‘I Let The Mastermind Cook’

Jack Harlow has already been having a breakout year on his own since the release of his late 2020 project That’s What They All Say, but things got even more heated starting today. Now that he’s collaborated with Lil Nas X on their chaotic “Industry Baby” video, all bets are off. There’s one rather, ahem, steamy scene in the video where Nas and his backup dancers are twerking naked in the prison shower, and fans and foes have been wondering why Harlow wasn’t involved in that section of the clip.

Plenty of the memes about the moment have centered on the tendency for straight men to fearfully distance themselves from homosexual behavior, and the stereotype that all heteronormative men are nervous around queer male sexuality. In Harlow’s case though, that’s not what was going on at all. Seeing the conversation unfold, the young rapper took to Twitter to let everyone know exactly where he stands. “Nas wrote the whole treatment for this video and I followed his lead every step of the way,” he said. “If he had asked me to be in that shower scene I woulda been in that shower scene. I just let the mastermind cook. Honored to be apart of it.”
