Iman Shumpert and Teyana Taylor have been having some relationship issues as of late, to put it mildly. A few months ago, Shumpert was accused of cheating on Taylor. Subsequently, in September, Taylor revealed that the two were no longer together. Overall, it was a pretty bad time for everyone involved, and fans were devastated. However, today, some new details emerged involving these two. As TMZ revealed, Taylor had filed for divorce long before this recent cheating scandal. In fact, she did so in January.

In the divorce filing, Taylor made all sorts of accusations against Shumpert. She claimed that he was a narcissist who didn’t like seeing her be successful. He was someone who would get jealous whenever she was seeing success or being sought out by photographers. Moreover, he wanted her to stay home and not work. However, he once allegedly got mad at her for not making money. Not to mention, he was allegedly cheating on her a lot despite claiming he wasn’t good enough for her.

Needless to say, he is a bit annoyed at all of the rumors surrounding his name right now. Overall, this frustration is very much understandable. However, he isn’t denying anything right now. However, a couple of months ago, Shumpert found himself at the center of a massive cheating scandal. Overall, it was looking pretty bad for the former NBA player. Back in September, Taylor confirmed that the two had separated from one another. For many fans, it was a sad ending to a relationship that seemed to be great, on the surface. However, beneath it all, there were some serious cracks.

We now know this thanks to Taylor’s divorce filing, which has gone public thanks to a new report from TMZ. Essentially, Taylor had filed for divorce back in January, months before the most recent cheating scandal. As it turns out, this was not the first time Shumpert had allegedly cheated. Furthermore, in the divorce filing, Taylor revealed how Shump is allegedly a narcissist who was controlling and insecure during their relationship.

Essentially, the former ballplayer didn’t like the fact that she was famous. Taylor describes how Shumpert would try to stop her from working and would then get mad at her for not making money. Moreover, there were instances in which he felt insecure about being her partner and would lash out because of it. Taylor tried to file for divorce a few times, however, Shumpert convinced her to stay. In the end, she ultimately decided to leave because he would not change.

Over the last several months, several notable Hollywood couples have stunned fans by announcing they’ve split. First, it was Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner. Then, it was Jeezy and Jeannie Mai. They were followed by Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness. Now, Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert are shattering relationship goal collages everywhere.

On Sunday, September 17, in a post shared on her official Instagram page, Teyana annoucced the pair’s separation. They officially got married back in 2016 and since then have welcomed two daughters, Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert Jr. and Rue Rose Shumpert. Although Teyena did not confirm whether the separation would graduate into a full-fledged divorce, she was adamant they are still good friends.

Some couples have great meet-cute stories to tell at parties. It’s a pretty safe bet, though, that if it were a competition, no one would be able to top Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert‘s tale, which involves Justin Bieber, celebrity basketball, and Spike Tee’s stellar defensive instincts.

Taylor recounted the thrilling yarn during her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday night to promote her new movie A Thousand And One, which apparently has a 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. After she recalled her first meeting with Beyoncé (to teach her the Chicken Noodle Soup dance), Kimmel pulled out a photo of Taylor with Justin Bieber that was taken during a celebrity basketball game. In it, Bieber’s dribbling while being chased by Taylor, both grimacing from the effort.

“I was on his ass,” Taylor joked. “He was kinda showing off ’cause he knew he was good. I said, ‘Oh yeah? Aight, bet.’… But that was the very moment that my husband fell in love with me. He’s like, ‘Who is that girl? Her defense is on point!’” She said the similarity between them — Shumpert was known as a defensive specialist during his NBA days — got his attention but she made his pursuit… well, interesting.

“Even though he was feeling [me] this day, he didn’t get me that day!” she proclaimed. She explained, though, that it was three years before she agreed to go out with him. While his infamous family has been in the spotlight, Iman Shumpert, has been preparing for the release of his anticipated first studio album “This Car Ain’t Stolen”. Initially set to release the summer of 2020, #TCAS has been magic in the making. Known for reciting the phrase “We Own It”, Iman. doesn’t only take pride in the album, it’s the first project to drop on his own record label, “A Sinners Peace Records”.

The sixteen-track album is a story Iman has been ready to tell for quite some time. The album is produced by “Hey Samyr” who worked with artists like Rick Ross, Jada Kiss and DeRay Davis.

Another hitter is “Prada”, an ode to celebration of self and fly fashion.
