The Bear didn’t get a second consecutive Outstanding Comedy Series trophy at the 2024 Emmys, but the show hardly went home empty handed. Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Liza Colón-Zayas all won in their retrospectives categories, and co-creator Christopher Storer was presented with Outstanding Directing for the “Fishes” episode. Lionel Boyce didn’t officially win anything, but he won the hearts of Loiter Squad fans everywhere by wearing clothing with a nod back to his Odd Future days.

As noted by GQ, Boyce, who plays pastry chef Marcus on the FX series, was “dressed in a smart black zip jacket with roomy pleated trousers, a club collar shirt with a pastel pink tie, and a wool baseball cap, all from Odd Future founder Tyler, the Creator’s label Golf Le Fleur.” He took off the beanie, so you know it was a big deal.

“Custom @lefleur for the Emmys,” Boyce wrote on Instagram. “Thank you Tyler, @darrenvongphakdy, @bykaidan, and @ruby.vickers for making it happen. Also thanks @nilou_nilou for always helping with the styling.”

Ahead of the Emmys, Boyce told Variety that he was on a plane when he learned about his first nomination. “I was asleep, and I woke up to a text,” he said. “I didn’t buy Wi-Fi, and I forgot to put my phone on airplane mode, so I got a random text saying, ‘Hot damn!’ I woke up all confused, and there were a couple of people on the plane who knew, so they said, ‘Congrats’ and stuff.”

The Bear season 4 does not currently have a premiere date.

Cardi B Passionately Defends Tyla Amid Viral Backlash To Her VMAs Controversy

Cardi B has come to Tyla’s defense as she’s been facing backlash on social media for her appearance at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, last week. While accepting the award for Best Afrobeats Video, she passed the trophy off to Lil Nas X and joked about struggling to carry it while speaking. Fans on social media have been labeling the move “rude” in response.

“Tyla wishes she never won that f*cking VMA award,” Cardi said while discussing the incident on X (formerly Twitter) Spaces. “If she would’ve known that that f*cking VMA award would’ve brought so much hate, so much criticism. I bet for a fact she’ll be crying tonight. The internet is insufferable. The way that you guys will take a picture, take a moment, and make it something that it’s not, and then just crush somebody.” From there, she described the internet’s reaction as “bullying.”

As caught by VIBE, she added: “You gotta worry about motherf**kin’ doing a speech, looking good while you’re carrying a motherf**king’ 10-pound f**kin’ [award] in your motherf**kin’ hand. So I just don’t think you understand how f**king heavy those f**kin’ awards are. Also, I met Tyla in person. I’m 5’3″, so I’m already short, and she’s shorter than me. No lie, she’s shaped really beautifully, but she’s very very skinny. Skinny like, Mariah-type skinny. She has to weigh like 109 pounds. So imagine you’re 109 pounds and you gotta carry a 10 f**king award with heels. She literally asked Lil Nas X. Y’all are trying to make this into an, ‘Oh, how rude is she? She asked another female artist to hold her award like she’s the help.’ I love Halle but she didn’t even ask Halle to hold the award! She asked Lil Nas X, a man, to hold it.”

Cardi B Comes To Tyla’s Defense

Tyla previously addressed the controversy in a post on X. “Y’all make everything weird… I was not asking my girl Halle… We just girls, STFU I WON A VMAAAA,” she wrote. She took home the award due to the success of her song, “Water.” Check out Cardi B’s full comments on Tyla on Instagram below. The Weeknd Brings Out Multiple Versions Of “Dancing In The Flames”

The Weeknd is finally rolling out his next studio album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, as we speak. Over the weekend (no pun intended), the Canadian hitmaker got things going by giving fans an official album cover, bundle pre-saves, as well as a lead single. The latter goes by “Dancing In The Flames” and concertgoers in Sao Paulo, Brazil were able to hear it first and in live format. Overall, it’s a very solid lead-off track, and in some ways, it gives similar vibes to “Blinding Lights” with how instantly replayable it is. With this supposedly being Abel Tesfaye’s last album under The Weeknd moniker and it being the final installment in this latest triology, the lyricism ties in nicely.

Traffic dies while we are racin’ home / Melted lights cover the open road / I hope we make it, ’cause I’ve been chasin’ / Another odyssey, oh“. Since its release on Friday, September 13, fans have been wanting the live version of it to be available on streaming. Well, he announced it would be coming and now it’s here for all to revisit. On top of the “Live From Sao Paulo” edition, there’s an additional four to check out as well. There’s variants such as “Acoustic”, “Acapella”, “Instrumental”, and of course, the original. If you’re on Apple Music, videos from YouTube are included in the EP, too. Stream the all of them at your leisure below.

Foolio Murder Suspect Still At Large Months After Shooting

The Foolio murder case remains a pretty open one, especially since the fifth charged murder suspect in this case, Davion Murphy, is still on the run as of Monday, September 17. Moreover, authorities have yet to provide an update on his whereabouts, what they’re doing to improve their search, or what possibilities for escape exist. The last update that we got in the case were pleas from some of the suspects that police currently has in custody. But until they find this fifth suspect or they get to the bottom of the case elsewhere, then this will continue to be a mystery. However, authorities think that Davion is still in somewhere in Jacksonville

Furthermore, police claim that suspects Davion Murphy and his cousin Rashad enlisted in the Top Killers gang, a Jacksonville organization with a rivalry with the Six Block Gang that police claim Foolio belonged to. Rashad still doesn’t have a plea and awaits arraignment later this month. According to alleged court documents reportedly obtained by XXL, two other suspects in this case (Isaiah Chance and Alicia Andrews) pleaded not guilty on August 23. Per local news organization WTSP, the final suspect (Sean Gathright) also pleaded not guilty, although XXL was not able to confirm this.

Foolio Murder Suspect Rashad Murphy Arrested

Isaiah Chance and Alicia Andrews face four counts of premeditated first-degree murder in the Foolio case, whereas Gathright is up against two counts of premeditated first-degree murder, attempted premeditated first-degree murder, and tampering with physical evidence. According to police, all five suspects traveled from Jacksonville to Tampa to attack the rapper as part of the alleged gang war. He was celebrating his 26th birthday in the city. Police claim that Chance and Andrews tracked his movements and that Gathright and the Murphys carried out the shooting.

Meanwhile, many folks still feel a way about Yungeen Ace, Foolio’s rival that chose to disrespect his death. “I think he kept a poker face on when I asked him how’s he feel about the passing of Foolio,” DJ Akademiks theorized during his latest VladTV appearance. “He’s like ‘Nah, it’s f***ed up.’ But is that really his demeanor? He’s probably elated.”
Rest In Peace Foolio.

Lil Pump Vulgarly Threatens Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce’s Mothers Over Kamala Harris Endorsement

Lil Pump went on a vulgar rant about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday after the pop star endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 Presidential Election. In doing so, he threatened to have sex with both of their mothers while accusing Harris of lying during her viral debate with former President Donald Trump.

Taylor Swift…go f*ck urself,” Pump wrote at first, as caught by XXL. “Taylor Swift, you have no clue why ur even voting for Kamala. Maybe cuz ur a billionaire and voting for her has 0 impact on ur life. You said do ur research, clearly you didn’t do ur research. Right after the debate u endorse her lol Right after she lied many many times,” he later added. SOCIALizing: Miami Heat Take Stance on “X” Against Hate And Anti Haitian Rhetoric

image

If you have been paying attention lately you’d see that Trump, JD Vance and a bunch of right wing weirdos have been straight up lying about lawful Haitian immigrants, primarily living in Springfield, Ohio. The state JD Vance is a senator. Unreal. But far from the midwest town, in Miami, Florida, where there’s huge Haitian American and immigrant community, the NBA’s Heat franchise has taken a stand against hate. They just tweeted the following:

“The Miami Heat staff, like Miami itself, is a diverse and brilliant mix of vibrant culture, including many members of our Haitian community. The false narrative surround them is hurtful and offensive and had sadly made innocent people targets of hateful speech and physical threats. Our Haitian employees, fans and friends deserve better. Ansanm nou kanpé fo.”

Nicki Minaj Responds To Super Bowl Halftime Show Producer’s Claim That Jay-Z Picks The Artist

Nicki Minaj has arguably been Lil Wayne’s strongest defender amid the Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl halftime show controversy. She blasted Jay-Z for the supposedly hate-fueled decision to not appoint Lil Wayne for the New Orleans stage next year. All of these details and many more are still unclear. But we got a new claim to add to these contradictions. Jesse Collins, a producer for the spectacle since 2021, recently claimed that Hov is the one who has final say in what artists perform, and that the show is largely of his own design.

It’s a decision that Jay makes,” Jesse Collins said of the Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and Kendrick Lamar controversy. “Since we’ve been on board with that show, he’s made it every year, and it’s been amazing. He’s always picked right!” Nicki Minaj reacted to this by replying to a report on the matter with a laughing emoji on Twitter. Even though we don’t know what she’s exactly laughing at here, we can make a pretty obvious assumption that she still blames him at least partially for what went down.

Also, Nicki Minaj’s disdain for Jay-Z extends to other business dealings, primarily how she allegedly never saw a dime for partnering with his TIDAL streaming service. This is all a bit tragic but also unsurprising to see given the very complicated relationship between Young Money and the Roc, which extends to the rest of the rap world. Regardless of where you fall on that Super Bowl debate, seeing the late 2000s and early 2010s implode among itself in 2024 has been one of the most significant rap moments of the year.

“This too, shall pass,” Nicki Minaj penned to Lil Wayne. “But what you have done for the hip-hop culture will remain. It will stand the TEST of time. Many times our greatest & most dehumanizing test is just a way for God to get the glory. You were simply used in a war of egos. To ppl who are empty inside, all they have is their temporary power.” We’ll see how this ends…
