Travis Scott & Don Toliver Fans Pleading For Collab Album Due To Their Dynamic Cuts On “HARDSTONE PSYCHO”

A lot of fans of Travis Scott and hip-hop alike were stunned when they heard Don Toliver for the first time on “CAN’T SAY”. The ASTROWORLD collaboration became one of the most revisited songs off that 2018 album and it remains to be that way six years later. Since signing to Cactus Jack, we have seen these two Houston, Texas neighbors grow their chemistry across multiple tracks. With the release of HARDSTONE PSYCHO –Don’s fourth studio LP– this weekend, that number is now at 12 as Scott appeared on “ICE AGE” and “INSIDE”, respectively.

Due to these songs, fans feel that is about time that Travis Scott and Don Toliver drop a collab album. “That album would move mountains”. “Yeah bro their chemistry is crazy”. According to HipHopDX, these are just a few tweets that surfaced shortly after HARDSTONE PSYCHO released. We definitely agree with these takes, as both share similar styles and possess incredible ears for production.

Hear Why Fans Want A Travis & Don T Collab Album

For the most part, we have heard Scott and Don on pretty melodic cuts together such as “Embarrassed”, “You”, and “Euphoria” just to name a handful. Sadly, the explosive cuts are a little less frequent. Prime examples include “Flocky Flocky” and “ICE AGE”. Even still, these offerings are still pretty lowkey. It would be interesting to see them attack some more aggressive and punchier instrumentals. Both have done it plenty of times solo, but doing so together would be electric. So yes, Travis and Don, the time is now, make a collab album!

What are your thoughts on fans wanting a Travis Scott and Don Toliver collaboration album? Do you agree that this needs to happen, why or why not? What is their best song together and why? Out of “ICE AGE” and “INSIDE”, which song is stronger? Is this Don Toliver’s best album to date so far? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments section below. Hardstone Psycho Will Arrive On June 14

Of course, fans can’t wait to hear what else Don Toliver has to offer on his upcoming album, though this isn’t the first time they’ve gotten a glimpse of what to expect. Back in February, the hitmaker uncovered “Bandit,” setting the stage for the biker-inspired project with the song’s accompanying music video. The video also featured Toliver’s partner Kali Uchis, with whom he welcomed his first child in March. The child later appeared in his next music video for “Deep In The Water.”

Don Toliver has certainly had some exciting developments in both his personal and professional life as of late. It hasn’t been all smooth sailing for the Houston-born artist, however. Last month, he was pulled over and cited under suspicion of a DUI. He was able to avoid going to jail, instead getting turned over to the individual who was in the vehicle with him at the time of the citation. Are you looking forward to hearing Don Toliver’s upcoming album, Hardstone Psycho? How do you feel about the project’s cover art? How do you like his new song with Charlie Wilson and Cash Cobain? Throughout the rollout of Don Toliver’s new album — which began in February with the release of his “Bandit” video — the Houston rapper appeared to be embracing a motorcycle club motif in the vein of groups like the Hell’s Angels and shows like Sons Of Anarchy. That theme continued in his “Deep In The Water” video, which showed off his and Kali Uchis’ first child together.

Today, Toliver revealed the cover art and the title for the album, which is called Hardstone Psycho. Again, the motorcycle club motif appears on the cover, with Toliver decked out in riding leathers and holding a flag bearing a club logo alongside his chopper. Hardstone Psycho will be Don Toliver’s fourth studio album, following 2023’s Love Sick.

The announcement was accompanied by his new single, “Attitude,” which features Charlie Wilson and Cash Cobain. You can listen to it below.

In April, Don Toliver was cited for driving under the influence after being pulled over for speeding in Southern California. However, he avoided arrest and was released into the custody of another person who was in the vehicle at the time.

Hardstone Psycho is due on 6/14 via Cactus Jack/Atlantic. You can find more information here.

Don Toliver Reveals When “Hardstone Psycho” Will Drop While Teasing Unreleased Song During Rolling Loud

Don Toliver is still one of the more entertaining voices in hip-hop right now. His unique, nasally, high-pitched voice makes him standout out from most of the competition. Furthermore, he has the support of artists like Travis Scott, which means he has a great ear for beats and atmosphere. All of that has translated to some memorable tracks of the 2020 decade and some solid records. However, some could make the case that he has not truly capitalized on any four of his studio releases. But, those arguments might be put to rest after Don Toliver drops his next offering, Hardstone Psycho.

So far, the Houston, Texas multi-hyphenate has given fans excellent tracks to chew over. “Bandit” sees the more explosive side of Don Toliver. He sounds focused and hard as all hell over the rockin’ sample flip of Tame Impala’s “One More Hour.” Then, you have “Deep in the Water,” which is the low-key and vibey version of Don T. On this cut, he displays affection and support for his girlfriend and mother of their newborn baby, Kali Uchis. What is interesting is that this song also incorporates some elements of rock with the riffing at the end.

This is part of the reason why Hardstone Psycho could be a special record for Don, but also for hip-hop. A lot of people are tired of hearing the same formula. But, effectively working in another genre like rock, could pave the way for other artists to try it as well. All of this incredible potential is why we are so amped to hear Don reveal a rough release date for the album. During his Rolling Loud set, he told the audience that they can expect it sometime this summer. He segued that announcement into an incredible head-knocking preview with even more solo guitar work. Hopefully, we get both the song and album sooner than later.

What are your thoughts on Don Toliver announcing Hardstone Psycho‘s release date for the summer at Rolling Loud? Does that snippet sound like it will be the best song on the album, why or why not? Are you bumping “Deep in the Water” or “Bandit” more and why? Will this be Don’s greatest record yet? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section.
