Halle Bailey Blasts DDG For Bringing Their Son On Kai Cenat’s Stream

DDG has done most of the talking with regards to his split from Halle Bailey. The celebrity couple went their separate ways in October, while maintaining their commitment to parent their son. DDG has caught most of the flack regarding the break up, but the flack reached a more severe level on November 6. The YouTuber and rapper was called out by Halle Bailey herself. DDG appeared on a Kai Cenat livestream with his son in tow, and the singer could not believe what she was watching.

Halle Bailey took to Twitter to make it clear that she didn’t approve of DDG’s decision. “Just so you know I am out of town and I don’t approve of my baby being on a stream tonight,” the singer asserted. “I wasn’t told or notified. I am extremely upset to have my baby in front of millions of people.” Bailey then made an allusion to DDG’s lack of communication. “I am his mother and protector,” she explained. “And saddened that I wasn’t notified especially when I am out of town.” The replies to Halle Bailey’s post varied in terms of tone. Some championed the singer for speaking out, and asserting her motherhood.

Others, however, felt DDG should be able to make decisions regarding his child’s well-being. “He with his dad,” one user noted. “Enjoy your time out of town.” Another Twitter user felt that Bailey was hypocritical, given that she often posts photos of her son on social media. “You post your kid all time,” they explained. The circumstances are, admittedly, different. Halle Bailey posting a photo with her son is not the same as featuring him on a stream watched by millions of teenage fans. Kai Cenat live streams are also notorious for going off the rails, and getting dangerous at times.

Kai Cenat was just embroiled in a controversy in which he had Kodak Black on his stream. The rapper appeared to be under the influence of drugs, and fans believed that Cenat should not have agreed to show him in such a compromised state. Halle Bailey sent a follow up tweet in which she revealed that she’s suffering from postpartum. “As a woman experiencing severe postpartum,” she wrote. “There are boundaries I wish to be respected.” The singer urged her followers to respect her privacy and the privacy of others. “Nobody knows what someone else is going through,” she concluded. “Until they snap.” DDG has not yet responded to Halle Bailey’s criticisms.

DDG Claps Back At Critic Accusing Him Of Exploiting His Son For Fame

DDG fired back at a fan on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday afternoon when a user accused him of exploiting his baby for fame. “Stop using your son for fame you weirdo,” the user wrote to DDG after he shared a picture of his son. DDG shot back with a quote-tweet: “I never understood this narrative when my son can’t even talk yet. He’s ‘famous’ rn because of his parents. If ur dad posted you when u were young, no one would care lol.”

Fans in the replies were stoked about the clapback. “Lol.. I don’t understand the hat£ on a man posting his own kid. Lots of people do it too and it’s okay why his gotta be different??,” one user wrote. Another added: “You’re just like any other parent posting pictures of their children. How dare u, you’re a monster. I got 5 kids and I’m nobody so his logic is wrong. Lol.”

DDG and Halle Bailey welcomed their son back in December 2023. Less than a year later, the two announced that they were parting ways. “After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways,” the rapper wrote on his Instagram Story. “The decision was not easy, but we believe it’s the best part forward for both of us. I cherish the time we’ve spent together and the love we shared. Despite the changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true.”

Halle Bailey And Smokey Robinson Are Set To Host ‘A Motown Christmas,’ A Two-Hour All-Star Holiday Special

With Halloween 2024 behind us, most people have already begun putting up their holiday decorations. Next month, those folks will have a televised musical soundtrack to further set the festive mood.

Music icon Smokey Robinson and legend in the making Halle Bailey are set to serve as the host of A Motown Christmas. The two-hour holiday special presented by NBC will shine a light on the lasting impact the label, its artists, and signature sounds has had over the decades.

On December 11 at 9 p.m. Eastern, the network is schedule to air the multi-hour performance featuring sets by hosts Robinson and Halle, Ashanti, Andra Day, BeBe Winans, Jamie Foxx, JoJo, Jordin Sparks, MGK, October London, and Pentatonix.

But the lineup doesn’t end there, former label acts Gladys Knight, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, and the Temptations are also listed as special entertainment.

In addition to those acts, A Motown Christmas will feature a world exclusive performance from the Broadway company of MJ The Musical. Rickey Minor has been taped to lead the 11-piece live band.

Viewers should expect to hear songs such as The Jacksons’ “ABC,” Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” Martha Reeves & the Vandellas’ “Dancing in the Streets,” Gladys Knight & The Pips’ “I Heard It Through the Grapevine”, The Temptations’ “My Girl”, Four Tops’ “Reach Out (I’ll be There)” and Smokey Robinson’s “Tears of a Clown”, The Supremes’ “Stop (In the Name of Love),” and Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition.”

In a statement, Jen Neal, the Executive Vice President of Live Events & Specials at NBCUniversal Entertainment expressed their excitement for the special. “Motown’s timeless hits have played as a soundtrack for American families for the last six decades,” said Neal. “NBC is honored to spotlight the iconic legacy of Motown with a festive celebration for the holiday season.”

NBC will air A Motown Christmas on December 11 at 9 p.m. The following day (December 12), the special will be available to stream on Peacock. A Motown Christmas is produced by LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill. Find more information here.

Yes, Halle Bailey’s name was inspired by Halle Berry. The former’s parents considered naming her “Hailey,” but decided to change it to “Halle” as a tribute to the Oscar-winning actress. Bailey has had an impressive career over her own in the last decade, as evidenced by her leading role in the Little Mermaid remake. Halle Bailey decided to pay tribute to her near-namesake, however, this Halloween. She dressed like Berry’s character from the James Bond film Die Another Day, and the internet was impressed.

Die Another Day may not be one of the most acclaimed 007 films. In fact, the tepid critical response to the film led producers to give the MI6 agent a gritty reboot with Daniel Craig a few years later. That said, Halle Berry’s presence, and her orange swim suit, remains one of the film’s best known images. Halle Bailey went all out with the recreation. She donned Berry’s short hair, orange bikini, and even the knife and holster that the character wears in the film. Bailey has a knack for recreating iconic film characters, as evidenced by her decision to dress like Janet Jackson from Poetic Justice in 2023.

Interestingly enough, Halle Bailey wasn’t the only musician who decided to cosplay as Berry. Coi Leray and Tyla decided to pay tribute to the iconic actress by dressing up as characters from different films. Leray dressed up like Berry’s Catwoman, and Tyla decided to take a left turn by dressing up like Berry’s character from The Flintstones Movie. All three celebs earned praise from their fans, but it was the Halle Berry co-sign that made the biggest impact. She wrote that Bailey, Leray and Tyla “crushed it” above a Pop Crave tweet rounding up the different costumes.

It was Halle Bailey, however, who received individualized praise for her costume. The costume hails from Jinx’s second appearance in the film and one of its most recognizable scenes, when the NSA agent emerges from the ocean in the striking swimsuit — an homage to a prior Bond girl, Honey Ryder (portrayed by Ursula Andress) from the first 007 film, Dr. No.

Halle Berry is turning out to be a favorite of Gen Z stars’ 2024 Halloween costumes, as South African singer Tyla and rapper Coi Leray also donned costume sfrom the actress’ oeuvre, albeit much earlier in her filmography. Tyla went with an homage to Berry’s Flintstones character, Sharon Stone (ha), while Coi opted for Berry’s take on Catwoman from the oft-maligned (yet, somehow, much beloved) camp classic and favorite celebrity Halloween costume.

However, the raucous has more so been caused by the rapper and content creator rather than the singer. Overall, he’s been the one doing almost all of the talking and posting online, with Halle only sharing some flicks at the gym with their child, Halo. What we have to learn is that he’s only willing to get back into a relationship if it’s with her.

Additionally, and quite conversely, he was also saying that he would tell his younger self to be single during his 20s. He essentially said dating is taxing and labeled it as “a part-time job.” It seems that the belief surrounding their breakup is that DDG was problematic, and that Bailey was right to be quiet amid all of the noise and leave him. He’s getting ready to drop a new single called “What U Bad For,” and it assumedly going to be a self-confidence anthem. We say that because in conjunction with the song, DDG is giving two lucky fans the chance to get a free non-surgical BBL. To win, they need to send him and Dr. Dorfman, the surgeon who will be performing the procedure, a video of them explaining why they deserve to win. DDG Roasted By TikToker Claiming He “Trapped” Halle Bailey With A Baby

DDG has not had it easy since breaking up with Halle Bailey. The rapper and YouTuber requested that fans respect their privacy. In truth, they have done everything but. They have memed DDG for not being good enough to hold on to Bailey. They’ve also made fake screenshots of DDG Instagram posts, that he has had to debunk. The latest DDG controversy may be the meanest, though. A TikToker made a post in which she accused the rapper of trapping Halle Bailey with a child. He responded, and then she got back at him. It was a whole mess.

The overall sentiment of the TikTok post was that DDG purposely “trapped” his ex-girlfriend by starting a family with her and then breaking up. DDG didn’t appreciate the theory, and took to Instagram Live to set the record straight. “CPM’s not that high for you to be on there talking for two minutes about me,” he told followers. The rapper then decided to get personal with the TikTok creator. “You got two kids, I looked on your Instagram…. with no baby daddy. But you worry about me.” DDG made it clear that he didn’t want or think people should be, in his personal business. “Y’all need to stop,” he added. “I be seeing what y’all be saying, bro.”

The creator, who goes by the handle @frankie_aab, responded. She scrolled through Halle Bailey’s Instagram and noted that DDG is nowhere to be found. “I need y’all to let me know when you see DDG on her page,” she remarked. “It’s funny that you try to use me being a baby mama as an insult when you turned her into a baby mama your damn self.” The creator then noted that including the father of her children on her social media would not make sense. “Why would I have my ex-husband on my page,” @frankie_aab asked. “Did you ever marry that girl?”

The TikToker proceeded to criticize DDG for trying to cast her in a negative. She claimed that her kids are currently spending time with their father, effectively disproving the implication that her ex-husband is not in their lives. There’s a bit of a double standard at play, here, admittedly. @frankie_aab is rightfully calling out DDG for making assumptions and casting aspersions on her life. The whole TikTok exchange started, though, because she was doing the same thing about his life.

DDG Claims He’s Done With Dating Unless He Reunites With Halle Bailey

DDG has had quite the week. The rapper/YouTuber announced that he’d broken up with Halle Bailey via Instagram. The internet had lots of opinions on the matter, and DDG has spent the last few days having to explain his stance. It’s not an ideal place to be. The rapper had to debunk a fake screenshot that had been making the rounds under his name. Then, on October 7, he shed light on his plans for the future. Namely, whether or not he wanted to get into another long term relationship anytime soon.

DDG told his fans, via live stream, that he wasn’t interesting dating. Like, in the long term. The rapper claimed that he had no interest in future relationships. “I am not dating anyone,” he asserted. “I don’t have a potential girlfriend, nor do I even think about that.” DDG clarified that he does not want to have a messy personal life moving forward, and winces at the notion of having multiple baby mamas. “I don’t plan on getting into another at all… I am not finna get a new girlfriend.” The one exception that he made was his famous ex, Halle Bailey.

He conceded that he would consider getting back together with Bailey, since they already have a family together. Many were not expecting him to be open to the idea of getting back together with her. Especially given that he was the one who announced their split in the first place.

DDG definitely feels defensive when it comes to the way the public has perceived his split. However, a lot of fans also speculated that the two have been rocky for a while, especially given previous scandals. Well, DJ Akademiks recently took to his livestream to address the issue, making the bombshell claim that they split up a while ago. Even though he didn’t choose to provide proof or read into the situation too deeply, he did recall a recent conversation with the Michigan rapper.

“[A] breakup letter, if you want to call it,” DJ Akademiks said of DDG’s breakup message. “I understood it. You know why I understood it? Because what y’all haven’t known is that they have been separated for a while. This is facts, I’m telling you this as fact. They have been separated for a while. You just didn’t know. A lot of people on The Shade Room didn’t know. They’re usually pretty quiet, they keep their business to themselves. I don’t know if she’s f***ing with other people, but she, you know, she’s living her life. She’s around, she’s having fun. Hanging around celebrities.

DDG Slams Joe Budden After He Jokingly Claimed To Be ‘Happy’ About The Rapper’s Split From Halle Bailey

Whether you know him as a YouTube prankster or humorous rapper, Uproxx cover star DDG doesn’t find anything funny about his split from Halle Bailey. On October 3, the “Way Too Petty” musician announced that after two years together, he and Bailey had officially broken up and would “remain best friends” as they raise their son, Halo.

While many fans still question the validity of DDG’s announcement, given his past antics, Joe Budden expressed his excitement about the news. So, yesterday (October 5), DDG took to X (formerly Twitter) to slam the rapper-turned-podcaster.

“‘Pump It Up’ went gold after 20 years u old b*tch,” he wrote. “Joe Budden, I’m on u .”

He continued, writing: “N**** got 30 years MAX of life left and speaking on a relationship of people the same age as your son you ain’t take care of. I hope u forget to take your magnesium pills today u old b*tch, Joe Budden .”

DDG also sent a message out to other men with negative opinions about him. “I don’t be tripping bout the girls saying sh*t cuz I’m used to it,” he wrote. “It’s all love. But you n****s wit platforms gonna get a response fasho.”
