Flo Milli’s star power is only continuing to grow each week. After dropping quite the enjoyable listen with Fine Ho, Stay in March, the Mobile, Alabama native is now getting incredible opportunities. One of which includes being an opening act for Georgia superstar Gunna during his new Bittersweet Tour. This North American expedition is for the “fukumean” artist’s forthcoming May 10 record ONE OF WUN. It kicked off last night in Columbus, Ohio, according to HipHopDX, but it got off to a rough start. A video has been making the rounds online of a perpetrator having an object thrown while Flo Milli was performing her set.
She was caught off guard, as anyone would be, saying, “B****, who is throwing s*** at?” In the video below, it appears to show who heaved what seems to be a shoe. It was a young adult white male, which set some people off in the comments section of The Neighborhood Talk‘s post. “Something about a WHITE MAN throwing s*** at a black woman don’t sit well with me,” the user said. “B**** when I f***ing catch you h*e I swear to f***ing god.” Those were the final words of the “Never Lose Me” rapper before she exited stage left.
Her tour mate, Gunna, reacted to the video on X (formerly Twitter), and showed tremendous companionship for Flo. “No disrespect in any form @_FloMilli will be tolerated on tour. family ties ” he wrote. Hopefully, Flo and Gunna will not have to deal with anymore antics from “fans” going forward after this viral clip. Their next chance for a better show is tonight, as the Southern rappers head to the Fox Theatre in Detroit.
What are your thoughts on Flo Milli ending her performance early after the fan threw something at her onstage? Do you think she made the right call by doing and possibly setting a future standard for her performances? How do you feel about Gunna supporting her on X? What would you in that situation? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Flo Milli and Gunna. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.
Gunna season could soon be upon us! On Monday, April 15, 2024, Gunna announced an upcoming album titled One Of Wun. The upcoming album will be the YSL rapper’s fifth, coming less than a year after he released a Gift & a Curse.Gunna announced his next LP via a post on his Instagram page. He shared the album’s cover art, a painting by Calvin Clausell Jr. The painting showed Gunna’s face covered in a blue and white floral scarf. Gunna revealed this morning that his upcoming album drops on May 10th as he dropped “Whats App (Wassam).” The album will likely
Gunna’s fans were given an idea of what to expect from One Of Wun as he had already released two singles. In February, he released “Bittersweet,” while “Prada Dem,” featuring Offset, dropped in March. Gunna will also begin his The Bittersweet Tour in May. As the anticipation for Gunna’s One of Wun album heightens, here is what we want from his upcoming project.
Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and Drake are arguably the three biggest active rappers at the moment. The rap industry has been heated in the last two months since Kendrick dissed Drake and J. Cole inFuture and Metro Boomin’s “Like That” from their We Don’t Trust You album. Since Kendrick’s diss, so much has gone down, with Drake also hitting back. However, Gunna found himself in the midst of all the drama after Kendrick named him in “Euphoria,” his latest diss song directed at Drake. In “Euphoria,” Kendrick rapped, “We ain’t gotta get personal, this a friendly fade, you should keep it that way/ I know some shit about n***as that make Gunna Wunna look like a saint.”
Kendrick’s bars reminded many of the widespread belief that Gunna snitched on Young Thug in the YSL RICO case. However, Kendrick hints that Drake is a bigger snitch or has done worse things than people think Gunna did. Gunna seemingly responded to Kendrick’s lyrics by tweeting, “Mannnn WASSAM ?!!” However, with an album on the way, Gunna can do more than tweet in response to Kendrick’s lyrics. He should take advantage of the sudden interest Kendrick’s bars will cause people to have on him to promote his album.
Gunna’s One of Wun Should Clarify The Snitching Issue
Kendrick Lamar’s reference to Gunna in “euphoria” shows that many in the hip-hop community still consider Gunna a snitch. Following his unexpected release from prison after a plea deal in December 2022, there were widespread rumors that Gunna cooperated with authorities when he accepted an Alford Plea. Though his lawyers argued otherwise, many still felt as though Gunna betrayed Thug. Gunna released his fourth studio album, A Gift & a Curse, six months after his release. In the album, Gunna responded to those calling him a snitch and called for Young Thug’s release.
In “Cash S**t,” he rapped, “You n****as broke, energy low I don’t really care though/ Out the barrel, man, free my bro Jeffro/ Back to business, it’s way more dinero.” Meanwhile, in “I Was Just Thinking,” he rapped about how he cried in his cell while thinking of Young Thug. He rapped, “Only I done cried ’cause this feelin’ for my bro (King Slime)/ And you know my mind, you done watched that n***a grow (watched that n***a grow)/ Know you hearin’ the lies that your lil’ brother might fold (Gunna Wunna)/ Yeah, I had copped out, but don’t let ’em say I told.”
Although Gunna addressed the snitching claims and expressed his love for Young Thug in his last album, he did so in a few lyrics from his songs. In One Of Wun, Gunna should take his time to explain what really happened with his plea deal and finally put the snitch accusations to rest. A verse dedicated to clearing himself of any snitching allegations will be beneficial to the “Fukumean” crooner and earn him more trust within the hip-hop community.
Response To 21 Savage
21 Savage released his third studio album, American Dream, on Jan. 12, 2024. In “Letter To My Brudda,” 21 Savage seemingly referenced Gunna in the lyrics, dissing him for snitching on Young Thug. In the song’s opening verse, 21 Savage rapped, “Once you cross that line, it ain’t no trying to fix it/ You want me to forgive you, let’s be realistic.” He also rapped, “I can’t kick it with your kind like I tore my meniscus/ How you go from co-defendant to a f***ing witness?”
21 Savage also appeared to criticize Gunna’s disloyalty to Young Thug despite how the latter helped him before their arrests. 21 Savage rapped, “They’ll stand on couches with you, but won’t stand on business/ Woah, I watched everybody turn on my brother like he ain’t have them out here flying jets and f*****g b*****s/ This sh*t ridiculous.” At this point, Gunna needs to deliver an adequate response to his former affiliate.
Two of Gunna’s most recent collaborations have seen him explore the fast-growing Afrobeats genre. He collaborated with Victor Thompson on the remix of his hit tune, “THIS YEAR (Blessings).” Gunna also joined Nigerian producer Sarz and singer Asake for the song “Happiness.” Those songs represented Gunna’s first foray into Afrobeats, and it is expected that he will explore the genre even further in One of Wun. We should expect Gunna to feature more artists from the genre. For instance, collaborating with major Afrobeats stars like Burna Boy, Wizkid, or Davido could see Gunna’s stock rise in the African musical space, giving him another market to explore.
More Features, Please
In A Gift & a Curse, Gunna didn’t feature any artist, choosing to go solo in the 15-track project. However, we expect him to have more features in One of Wun. We are certain of at least one feature as he already released the single, “Prade Dem,” featuring Offset. Hopefully, this indicates that the hip-hop community has become a bit more forgiving toward Gunna and we could expect more collaborative efforts in the future.
Gunna accompanied the announcement with a new single, “Whatsapp (Wassam),” which you can check out below. It’s produced by Gunna’s go-to collaborator Turbo and Evrgrn. “They sent the wire through WhatsApp,” he boasts on the track, “Hope ain’t nobody to cuss at.”

One Of Wun comes out on 5/10 via Young Stoner Life Records/300 Entertainment.
Atlanta’s rap sensation Gunna is set to release his highly anticipated fifth studio album, One of Wun, on May 10th. Accompanying the announcement is his latest single, “Whatsapp (Wassam),” produced by Turbo and Evrgrn and released via Young Stoner Life Records/300 Entertainment.
Gunna’s return to the spotlight earlier this year with singles “Bittersweet” and “Prada Dem” featuring Offset signaled a triumphant comeback since his chart-topping album a Gift & a Curse. The album soared to #3 on the Billboard 200 and marked his fourth consecutive #1 debut on the Billboard Top Hip-Hop/R&B Albums Chart.
The unveiling of the One of Wun artwork, along with a special performance video for “Bittersweet” directed by Leff, offers fans a glimpse into the creative vision behind the album. The artwork, crafted by Calvin Clausell Jr. with creative direction by Spike Jordan of The Genius Club and art direction/design by Tal Midyan, sets the stage for Gunna’s latest musical endeavor.
To coincide with the album release, Gunna will embark on The Bittersweet Tour, commencing on May 4th at Schottenstein Center in Columbus, OH. The tour will span 16 stops across the U.S., including cities like Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, and Houston, culminating in a hometown performance at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena on June 11th.
Gunna caught the stray of all strays on Kendrick Lamar’s “Euphoria” diss. The Compton rapper used Gunna as an example of a snitch, which is a label Gunna has been trying to separate himself from since the YSL trial got underway. The best way to make listeners forget about past indiscretions, though, is to put out good music. That’s exactly what Gunna does with his new single “Whatsapp (Wassam).” The song is a teaser for the rapper’s upcoming album, and it makes good on the hype.
Gunna previewed “Whatsapp (Wassam) on April 21, 2024. There wasn’t an official title, so fans took to calling the snippet “Push Back.” It makes sense, given the repeated use of the phrase in the chorus. “Sh*t changed but it still get pushed back (Push back),” Gunna raps. “I drop, make these little n**gas push back (Push).” The bars are standard Gunna fare, with talk of belittling other rappers and flossing how much more he makes than his competition. He makes it clear that he doesn’t like wasting time on “chit chat” if the topic isn’t money. “But f*ck that, look at my accomplishments,” he urges the listener. “Let’s check out my style, astonishin.”
Turbo laces “Whatsapp (Wassam)” with a tight, hard-knocking instrumental. It’s not groundbreaking by any means, and the underlying melody sounds a bit like Drake’s “Way 2 Sexy,” but it still knocks. Turbo and Gunna go way back, as the former served as an executive producer on Gunna’s breakout project, Drip or Drown 2. He’s also produced some of the rapper’s best songs, including “Drip Too Hard” and “Wunna.” The two artists keep their winning streak intact here.
What are your thoughts on this new single, “Whatsapp (Wassam)” by Gunna? Does this track get you excited for his upcoming album, One of Wun? Do you think Gunna will be able to shake off the “snitch” allegations? Will a good album be enough to restore his reputation? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Gunna. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.
Quotable Lyrics
I don’t care if it gotta be a couple of years, still, I’m gon’ get my lick back You know how I came up, you know I roll with my n**ga, don’t never forget that Been flooded the Range, been flooded the chains, and get it, ’cause they should remember that
Did Drake snitch on somebody? Kendrick is alluding that he has or maybe something even worse. In the middle of his ‘euphoria’ diss track, K Dot dropped off:
“We ain’t gotta get personal, this a friendly fade, you should keep it that way I know some shit about niggas that make Gunna Wunna look like a saint.”
With much of Hip-Hop believing that Gunna had some level of snitching on Young Thug in the YSL Rico case, fans are eager to know what Kendrick Lamar is hinting toward.
With his name mentioned, Gunna hit X to give an instant reaction. You can see that and hear the song below.
Normani fans have been starved, dehydrated, and all the above waiting for her debut solo album. It has been teased and in the works for years at this point, but not much was known about it. That was up until February when the former Fifth Harmony vocalist revealed the project’s artwork and title. She also began teasing music from it just weeks ago, but the reception was not great. But Normani still has people ready for what she can do on her own with its lead single “1:59” featuring Gunna.
Her supporters might also be thrilled to know that Genius has Dopamine listed for a June 14 release date. That appears to be the confirmed date as well, as Normani has “DOPAMINE THE ALBUM JUNE 14” in her Instagram bio. “1:59” sees the Georgia natives serenade each other, with Gunna even taking on an auto tuned singing and rapping flow. It does not sound too off-putting for those who had doubts about how he would fit on a slow-mo R&B cut.
Normani and Gunna are so infatuated with one another, that even when they are not together, they are always wanting to reunite for an intimate time. Instrumentally, it is nothing that is reinventing the wheel, with its guitar loops and minimal production overall. But it does sound pleasing to the ears vocally and beat wise. Be sure to check out the lead single for Dopamine above.
What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “1:59” by Normani and Gunna? Will this be the best song from Dopamine, why or why not? Does this get you excited for her album? Who had the better performance on the track? Should they work again in the future? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Normani and Gunna. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on around the music world.
Quotable Lyrics:
I can tell your time ’cause you gon’ like the things I do Sexy camera shine ’cause ‘least she met when it’s time to room F*** it, we made love to tunes, f***in’ shrooms Lock you to the bed, don’t let you move Baby, help me heal the pain (Heal the pain) This don’t feel like lust and I feel love in my veins (Veins)
Singer-songwriter Normani has unveiled her latest single, “1:59,” featuring Gunna, via RCA Records. The release comes hot on the heels of the announcement of her much-anticipated debut album, DOPAMINE, scheduled for release on June 14 across all major streaming platforms.
“1:59” seduces listeners with smooth guitar melodies as Normani addresses a potential love interest, exploring intimate possibilities with provocative lyrics and an infectious rhythm. The track captures Normani’s journey of embracing her femininity, blending sensuality with dominance in an authentic and empowering way.
With this release, Normani continues establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. “1:59” sets the stage for her upcoming album, promising an exciting and dynamic collection of tracks that showcase her versatility as an artist.
Fans can look forward to diving deeper into Normani’s musical world with the release of DOPAMINE on June 14. In the meantime, “1:59” offers a tantalizing taste of what’s to come from this talented singer-songwriter.
Normani has given new meaning to long-awaited. Her fans have been waiting for her debut full-length studio album for five-plus years, and she finally announced Dopamine alongside its cover art in February. By late March, an X (formerly Twitter) user circled back with Normani about the silence since her album announcement, to which Normani replied that she’d address the matter the following day, and she did — announcing the lead single “1:59” featuring Gunna would arrive on April 26.
As promised, “1:59” is here. Plus, Normani finally confirmed that Dopamine will be released on June 14. As it were, the slow-burning R&B banger finds Normani just as tired of waiting around as her fans. “When I get you alone / Boy, what you gon’ do with it?” Normani sings, her vocals as strong as ever. “Don’t talk too much, just do this sh*t.” Gunna’s sings back to her, promising “You gon’ like the things I do.”
The sultry song is Normani’s first release since she collaborated with Sam Smith on the 2019 earworm “Dancing With A Stranger,” which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. Meanwhile, Gunna is 10 days removed from announcing One Of Wun as his next album.
While “1:59” is the official lead single from Dopamine, Normani gave a taste of “Candy Paint” in a Bose ad last summer.
Listen to “1:59” above.
Dopamine is out 6/14 via RCA Records. Find more information here.
