Jadakiss Reflects On Why Diddy Parties Were The “GOAT”

Amid all the allegations against Diddy, whether federal or civil, you probably haven’t heard a lot of positive things about his infamous parties these days. But before this scandal really blew up, these shindigs and celebrations had a much more positive reputation and place in the culture. If you need to see why, look no further than Jadakiss’ recent comments on them, which he issued while on Complex‘s “GOAT Talk” series alongside his son, Jae’Won. The LOX MC spoke on signing with Bad Boy Records and how this exposed them to a whole new party scene, which was very different from what they were used to.

“Some of the best parties we was ever in our life was a Diddy party! This is long before anything, any [allegations], any of that,” Jadakiss expressed. In addition, he said that he and his rap group only attended “house parties and parties in gymnasiums” before linking with Bad Boy. “With him is the first time we was ever in Cipriani or any of that kind of s**t.” ‘Kiss also gave a specific example of one of the most impressive get-togethers in his opinion, which is also characteristic of what he appreciates – or rather, appreciated – about those events.

Jadakiss Talks About Diddy Parties

Jadakiss told his son Jae’Won that, at the start of his career, he went to a tour launch party that Diddy held before hitting the road. “We had a party, then the tour buses was outside, then we went on tour after the party. That was the GOAT party, that was incredible,” he recalled. Considering how Sean Combs’ case is progressing and all the alleged details surrounding it, you won’t find many more praiseful words for these parties these days.

On that note, there are still a lot of accusations emerging against Diddy, especially around his alleged behavior at these parties. However, Jadakiss maintained that he only refers to the good parts about them, not the more serious alleged activity that went down. At the end of the day, two things can be true at once. Many appreciate that he made this distinction clear for the audience.

T.I. Teases King Harris For Lack Of 2Pac & Will Smith Knowledge

T.I. couldn’t believe his son, King Harris, didn’t know that 2Pac worked as an actor, nor that Will Smith was a rapper. During the latest episode of Complex’s GOAT Talk, the two discussed their favorite rapper who ventured into acting.

“Bet you expect me to say me now, wouldn’t you?” T.I. joked to begin the segment. From there, he named 2Pac as his pick, surprising his son. “2Pac was an actor?” King asked. “I didn’t know was an actor. I thought that was a lookalike 2Pac.” After King admitted he didn’t recognize 2Pac in 1992’s Juice, T.I. remarked: “How could you embarass me like this?” After shouting out Ice Cube as well, T.I. brought up Will Smith, again to King’s surprise. “Bro, I don’t know no Will Smith song! That’s like asking me what’s a Nick Cannon song?” T.I. explained: “He’s the one that opened the door for rappers to come in, go to the Grammys and stunt, man.” King joked to conclude the segment: “I feel like y’all about to tell me Denzel Washington is a rapper.”

Earl Sweatshirt Claims Tyler, The Creator Is Responsible For Drake Lean Meme

Earl Sweatshirt and his frequent collaborator, the legendary producer The Alchemist, recently sat down for an episode of Complex’s GOAT Talk series. In it, they discussed the best (and worst) rap trends, animals, candies, and a whole lot more. However, when asked what the best meme of all time is, the Odd Future affiliate actually got to chronicle some meme history with a very interesting but fitting revelation. If you weren’t around back in the day, Drake memes used to take a very different and overly macho shape, unfairly clowning him for being soft. But Earl claimed that Tyler, The Creator created one of the first memes to blow up around the OVO star that weren’t within this flawed framework.

“Tyler, The Creator started the Drake meme,” Earl Sweatshirt maintained on the program. “I was there. We seen the picture. I think Tyler cut it out, he put it on something, he put it up. By the morning, it was, like, [viral].” Of course, given that the IGOR creative is one of the funniest rappers to ever touch a mic, it’s no surprise that he had a hand in one of the Internet’s favorite comedy pastimes.

Earl Sweatshirt Teaches Meme History About Drake & Tyler, The Creator On GOAT Talk

Furthermore, we wonder if Drake had any sort of significant reaction to this revelation. After all, he and Tyler, The Creator have a pretty interesting relationship, one that’s mostly behind the scenes but has popped out every once in a while. Most infamously, Tyler brought Drizzy out as a special guest at his Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in 2019, and fans appeared to boo him offstage because they were expecting Frank Ocean. The Hawthorne native mentioned the large payout he had for Drake on “LUMBERJACK,” and they have plenty of overlap as far as their inner circles and industry associates these days.

In addition, the 6 God posted himself wearing an IGOR chain on his IG Story last year, so clearly there’s still some love there. Many fans might not think there’s much reason for them to associate, since they are in such different lanes. But such is the unitary and community-building power of memes.
