Are Lil Uzi Vert & GloRilla Cousins?

Rap is full of fun and unexpected familial connections. While some are well-known, like Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar, others often come as a surprise to fans. Sometimes, they’re even a surprise to the rappers themselves, as with Denzel Curry and Smino finding out they were related in 2021. Other interesting entertainment families include Nas and Tracy Morgan, Saweetie and Gabrielle Union, and of course, Quavo and Takeoff, who briefly considered going by “Unc And Phew” after splitting from Offset, who was shockingly not actually related to either.

But one familial bond no one could expect was recently revealed by Memphis upstart GloRilla, who noted during a recent interview that she’s related to another rapper despite being from over 1,000 miles away in Philadelphia. Appearing on the Bottoms Up With Fannita podcast, Glo was asked whether she’d collaborate with Lil Uzi Vert, and instead of answering outright, she noted, “That’s my cousin,” to the surprise and delight of the show’s host, Fannita Leggett. Undeterred, Leggett wondered why the two hadn’t collaborated yet since they have an existing connection, and Glo cagily replied, “We actually workin’ on it… we just gotta get it together.” Fans will undoubtedly be waiting for that if only to hear how the two divergent rappers’ flows will mesh.

GloRilla Got A Photo With An NBA All-Star, But She’d Like More Than Just The Pic: ‘I Want Him’

NBA All-Star Weekend doesn’t just bring out the world’s best basketball players, as celebrities usually turn up to check out the finest collection of the game’s talent in person. GloRilla was among the recognizable figures to flock to Indiana this weekend, where she met Damian Lillard… and made it clear she’d like to get to know him even better.

The rapper posed for a photo with the Milwaukee Bucks star, shortly after he won the All-Star Game MVP award. Glo used the photo to shoot her shot, sharing it and writing on X (formerly Twitter), “Who n**** dis is ? Cause I want him #GetEmGlo.” She added in a follow-up tweet, “Whoever she is can’t whoop me so I really dgaf.”

Lillard hasn’t publicly responded to GloRilla’s post, but he’d presumably at least be up for talking about hip-hop with her: As Dame D.O.L.L.A., Lillard has four rap albums to his name and has worked with collaborators like Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, and Lil Durk.

As for Lillard’s relationship status, he married his wife, Kay’La Lillard, in 2021. The two met while in college and they have three children together. However, towards the end of 2023, Lillard filed for divorce. In a February interview, he spoke about the challenges that has presented, saying, “As much as I love basketball, and I love my job, I don’t care about it more than I care about my kids. Of course you carry it with you. People say, ‘When I hoop I ain’t thinking about nothing,’ but I’m not 21. I got three kids. I’m tight with my family and I’m going through a divorce.”

While GloRilla was busy falling head over heels for Damian Lillard, Shaq was seemingly in awe of the Memphis rapper. NBA All-Star weekend was another dud for many people, but a little less so for the Milwaukee Bucks point guard. He wound up taking home the trophy for the highly competitive 3-Point Contest. Dame actually became the first to repeat since the outings in 2007 and 2008. Then, on Sunday, he would go on to take the 73rd All-Star Game MVP with a 39-point performance. GloRilla certainly felt some type of way because she was eager to snag a picture with the decorated player. She was thirsting hard for him, tweeting, “Who n**** dis is? Cause I want him #GetEmGlo.”

Love was seemingly in the air all weekend long as Shaq was making sure GloRilla knew his feelings about her. His admiration for her actually dates back to December 2022 when Shaq asked her to marry him on Druski and Glo’s Instagram Live. He commented on the stream, “glo will u marry me.” Now, after that viral moment, he finally got the chance to see the up-and-comer from the South in person.

Shaq Had To Interrupt GloRilla & 50 Cent’s Photo To Say Hello

According to HipHopDX, the NBA legend was walking around courtside during the festivities. He was giving fans as close a look as possible to what it was like to be at All-Star weekend. Shaq Cam eventually led him to GloRilla taking a picture with 50 Cent, in what had to have a cool moment for her. However, it might have slightly been soured by Shaq’s looming presence. Glo was caught off guard in the moment, clearly not seeing the seven-footer in her peripheral. He awkwardly but hilariously interrupted the photo shoot telling GloRilla, “Hello Ms. Glo! You look awesome!” She laughed it off and it all seemed to be a cute interaction. But we would be lying if we were not getting a little bit of second-hand embarrassment.

GloRilla Thirsts Over Damian Lillard At NBA All-Star Weekend

NBA All-Star weekend took place this past weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana. In fact, this storied, event-filled, three-day break away from the regular season is now 73 years deep. However, it seems over the last several iterations, fan interest is on the decline for many reasons. A shake-up may be required to bring some life back into the festivities, just like how the NFL did. Even though the lack of effort from the players in the All-Star Game is concerning the other events seem to be keeping the engagement afloat. Namely the 3-Point Contest, it saw one of its more tightly competitive races for the trophy in recent memory. Damian Lillard emerged victorious with a score of 26 and GloRilla liked what she saw.

However, the Bucks point guard did not stop there. Damian Lillard also took home the All-Star Game MVP after the East surprisingly handled the West, 211-186. He poured in 39 points on 11-23 from three. GloRilla was most likely oohing and ahhing as she watched the superstar have a successful weekend.

She was in so much awe that she had to grab a picture with him after snagging the All-Star Game MVP trophy. GloRilla is on her celibacy journey that she started as a New Year’s resolution. However, that does not mean she cannot thirst over someone. That is all she could do on X, tweeting their flick of them together. She cleverly used the lyrics in her song “Yeah Glo!” to show she is ready to go risk it all. “Who n**** dis is? Cause I want him #GetEmGlo.” Glo might be in luck because Damian and his college sweetheart, Kay’La Hanson, divorced right around the time he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Fans from all across the rap spectrum are showing love for GloRilla’s new song “Yeah, Glo!.” The thumping banger features some of Glo’s most intense flows yet and the kind of hard-hitting beat that she excels over. The track has only been out for a week but it’s already racked up well over a million streams on Spotify. Even more impressively, the music video has netted more than 3 million views on YouTube in that same time span.

Some other high-profile voices have also shown their love for the new banger. Videos made the rounds earlier this week of LeBron James and GloRilla linking up after a recent Lakers game hit the internet earlier this week. In the clips, James can be spotted singing and dancing along to “Yeah, Glo!” But he isn’t the only celebrity to endorse the new banger. Ciara shared a video to social media recently where she is absolutely feeling herself. She shows off her model walk while the song plays in the background. The post came at a time when his Denver Broncos had already thrown in the towel for this year’s NFL season. His future with the team is still very much unclear going into next season. GloRilla Turns Up The Dirty South Heat On Her New Single, ‘Yeah Glo!’

It’s been a minute since GloRilla dropped music. But tonight (February 9), she’s back with the heat. GloRilla just released “Yeah Glo!,” another dirty south anthem bound to be on repeat for the foreseeable future.

On “Yeah Glo!,” GloRilla reminds us that she’s not disappearing from the rap game anytime soon. “Big Glo, where you been at? / Mane, everywhere, I’m workin’ hard / Maybach and G-Wagon trucks, got M&M’s in my garage,” she raps on one of the song’s verses, letting everyone know she’s taking time to enjoy the fruits of her labor.

But don’t push her. This doesn’t mean she’s softened. In fact, if you ask her for a collaboration, she just “might embarrass you.”

“Yeah Glo!” arrives nearly two years after the Memphis rapper dropped her breakthrough hit “FNF (Let’s Go).” Since then, she’s released quite a few heavy-hitting anthems.

Last August, Glo teased her full-length debut album in an interview with Good Morning America. While she didn’t reveal two many details, she did say the songs would be equally, if not more catchy, as her previously released earworms.

“I’m excited about it,” said Glo. “I plan on going number one. I gotta make another song that’s gonna have all the girls screaming — and another anthem.”
