GloRilla Cried Real Tears When Surprised With A Touching Video Of Her Dad Expressing Pride For His ‘Baby’

GloRilla recently visited Club Shay Shay and reacted to LeBron James rapping along to “Yeah Glo!” At the time, GloRilla said, “My whole family, they big on sports. My dad and my brothers, and so it felt like a family trophy to me because they love this sh*t. Like, they watch this sh*t all day, and so all them was like, ‘You got LeBron singing your song?!’” The Memphis rapper added, “Nobody could tell me sh*t. I got LeBron’s co-sign. LeBron don’t co-sign [just] anybody.”

But nobody’s co-sign means more to GloRilla than her father’s.

Also this week, GloRilla stopped by the Tamron Hall Show and was brought to tears when Hall surprised her with a video from her father, Edwin C. Woods Sr.

“I’m the father of GloRilla, otherwise known as my baby, Gloria Woods,” he said. “I am very proud of my daughter. She has risen from humble beginnings to going to The White House. I am extremely proud of Gloria and may she have many, many more days of success.”

Meanwhile, GloRilla was crying real tears in the studio. “I love my dad so much,” she said. “He’s like one of the closest people to my heart. I love my dad.”

Glo touched on several other topics with Hall, including her collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, the origin of her birth name (Gloria Hallelujah Woods), her gospel roots, and her recent trip to The White House, which resulted in a viral video with President Joe Biden.

GloRilla Does Not Regret Flirting With Damian Lillard, But She Won’t Say If Anything Happened Afterward

During the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend in February, GloRilla posed alongside Milwaukee Bucks All-Star point guard Damian Lillard and posted the photo on X (formerly Twitter). The since-deleted posts read, “Who n**** dis is? Cause I want him #GetEmGlo” and “Whoever she is can’t whoop me so I really dgaf.”

On Wednesday, April 3, GloRilla appeared on the latest episode of Club Shay Shay. Host Shannon Sharpe acknowledged GloRilla had “shot one of those Steph Curry shots” in the form of flirtation toward Dame and asked, “Did it go in?” GloRilla awkwardly giggled before expertly avoiding actually answering the question, saying, “The halfcourt shot? You know, at the end of the day, the day gon’ end.” Sharpe’s last-ditch effort (“It went in”) to get an admission was met with more ambiguous giggles.

In early March, TMZ asked Lillard about whether he had “seen GloRilla shoot her shot.” Lillard chuckled and said, “Man, shout-out to GloRilla, man.” But when asked whether he had reached out or had any contact with Glo, Lillard politely shut it down, saying, “No comment, my brother.”

Lillard was traded from Portland to Milwaukee last October. Days later, the eight-time All-Star and his wife, Kay’La Lillard, filed for divorce. The former couple were college sweethearts and share three children. In February, Lillard described the past several months as “the hardest transition in my life, all things considered,” as per Yahoo Sports’ Vincent Goodwill.

GloRilla Judged LeBron James’ Rapping Skills In Reaction To His ‘Yeah Glo!’ Video

LeBron James impressed Metro Boomin when he rapped along to Kendrick Lamar’s “Like That” verse during warmups ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers’ win over the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday, March 31. GloRilla heaped more praise onto the ever-expanding LeBron James Praise Pile during the latest episode of Club Shay Shay.

Host Shannon Sharpe asked for GloRilla’s reaction to James posting a video of him dancing and rapping along to her February single “Yeah Glo!” The Memphis rapper explained that she found out about it while getting a massage and noticing her phone “blow up” on the “little massage table” and initially blowing it off before finally looking and seeing that “everybody [was] calling me, like, ‘LeBron just posted your song!’”

GloRilla said she “instantly reposted it,” and then she hit up Rodeo Drive to get something to wear to the Lakers’ game that night because “this is one of the best — not one of the best — this is the best player in the league right now.” Glo paused to clarify that the late Kobe Bryant is her favorite player, but James is second.

Sharpe rained on her parade, saying, “He ain’t know not one word.” GloRilla countered with, “He knew the words! He did! I done watched LeBron rap songs and not know the words for real. He knew ‘Yeah Glo!’ He probably ain’t say, like, certain words, but that was good for him because he don’t be knowing songs for real. He knew more words than usual when he was singing ‘Yeah Glo!’”

GloRilla Ecstatic About LeBron’s Co-sign Of “Yeah Glo!” & Jokes About How He Only Knows Her Song’s Lyrics

GloRilla continues to thrive in 2024 for a number of reasons. The Memphis rapper started off the year with a bang due to her single “Yeah Glo!” Its messages of self-affirmation are something that everyone can get down with. It has also proven to be quite the workout track. LeBron James was bumping it loud and proud during one of his famous and rigorous training sessions. The King is known for supporting rappers across the genre, regardless of how bad he is at remembering lyrics. Glo eventually caught wind of the Lakers superstar messing with the song and they would wind up meeting in person. LeBron and his support for GloRilla and “Yeah Glo!” was a topic brought up in conversation with Shannon Sharpe.

She was the most recent guest on his hit podcast Club Shay Shay and a clip from it is gaining some attention. GloRilla is also hip to the fact that James has a foggy memory when it comes lyrics, and she made quite a funny joke about it. “LeBron knew the words. I watch LeBron rap songs and not know the words for real. He knew ‘Yeah Glo!’”

GloRilla Couldn’t Contain Her Excitement About LeBron Bumping “Yeah Glo!”

Later on in the chat, Glo also expressed how thankful she was for LeBron’s support and how nice he was when they linked up. It meant so much to her, especially since her family is a big fan of the NBA. Furthermore, she went on to mention that Bron is her second favorite player ever behind the late Kobe Bryant. Life is going great for GloRilla as she is also going to be dropping her new mixtape, Ehhthang Ehhthang, this Friday, which features “Yeah Glo!” as its lead single.

What are your thoughts on GloRilla shouting out LeBron for bumping “Yeah Glo!”? Is this song still in your rotation? Are you excited for her upcoming mixtape Ehhthang Ehhthang? GloRilla Unveils Artwork & Tracklist For Upcoming Mixtape “Ehhthang Ehhthang”

GloRilla has been killing it lately if you have not been paying attention. Across her social media platforms, GloRilla has just announced her new mixtape, Ehhthang Ehhthang. The project will hit your favorite streaming service on Friday, April 5.

“Yeah Glo!” is now the official lead single for the project, with the recently teased Megan Thee Stallion collaboration being the second. GloRilla has also given fans a look at the cover art for Ehhthang Ehhthang, as well as the tracklist.

Features for the concise, 12-song tape will also include Moneybagg Yo, Finesse2Tymes, Real Boston Richey, and Kevo Muney. With her going on tour with Megan Thee Stallion this summer, the concerts are about to go crazy.

GloRilla is about to have the summer on lock. This week, the Memphis rapper is set to release her new mixtape, Ehhthang Ehhthang. The mixtape precedes an international tour with Megan Thee Stallion, where she will serve as the Hot Girl Summer Tour‘s opener.

But that won’t be the only collaboration between the two rap powerhouses. On Ehhthang Ehhthang, Meg and Glo have a collaboration called “Wanna Be,” which, despite not having been released yet, is pretty much guaranteed to be the song of the summer.

Glo also recruited our cover star Moneybagg Yo, Finesse 2X, and more to appear on the mixtape, which — if its anything like her infectious hit “Yeah Glo!” — will be on repeat for the foreseeable future.

You can see the full tracklist below.

1. “Yeah Glo!”

GloRilla Asserts She And Megan Thee Stallion Are Both ‘Thick AF’ In A Preview Of Their New Collaboration

One of my favorite things about GloRilla is her running joke about being “thick.” Obviously the Memphis trickster is very petite (despite recently adding some… ahem… size up top), but talks herself up like she’s draggin’ a wagon, and honestly, we should all be that confident. Even when Glo is standing next to “the best ass on Instagram,” Megan Thee Stallion, she never breaks kayfabe, twerking it out with Meg like they’re identical twins.

Glo even captioned a video in which they do just that while previewing a new collaboration “Me and Meg Thick AF!!!” The song, meanwhile, is an absolute scorcher, with the two rappers hyping each other up: “Go Meg! Go Meg! Go Meg! Go Meg!” goes Glo. “Get ’em Glo! Get ’em Glo! Get ’em Glo! Get ’em Glo!” Meg shoots back. Yeah, this one is going Looney Tunes on the apps when it drops — which it will probably do on GloRilla’s new mixtape, EhhThang EhhThang, which drops this Friday, April 5.

Now that Glo has a song with Megan and both Glo and Megan have songs with Cardi B and all three have songs with Latto, how far away do you think we are from a female rap Avengers teaming up to save hip-hop and finally give us that “Ladies’ Night” remake we’ve all been clamoring for for the last six years? I’d say about six months, maybe. You can check out the preview of GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion’s new song above.

Megan Thee Stallion & GloRilla Tease New Song That Samples Soulja Boy’s “Pretty Boy Swag”

Megan Thee Stallion and GloRilla have just shared an exciting preview of their upcoming song. Two of the biggest female rappers in the game will be teaming up for the first time in what sounds like it will be a banger for the summer. Both artists have been going through a bit of a resurgence. For the Texas native, she has bounced back tremendously with “Cobra” and “HISS,” with both being perhaps the strongest cuts of her career. As for the Memphis star, “Yeah Glo!” has proven to be a return to form in most people’s eyes after some harsh criticism of her recent output.

This collaboration makes sense in that aspect for Glo and Megan, but also for this reason. With Glo going on Meg’s Hot Girl Summer Tour starting in May, they can now perform something together whenever they are both on stage. Megan dropped a short video with her newest collaborator on Instagram with a sneak peek of the track earlier today. In addition to these two teaming up for the first time, the other exciting part about this is the sample.

People who know hip-hop hits from the 2010s will immediately recognize the flip. Megan and Glo are looking to put their twist on Soulja Boy’s classic “Pretty Boy Swag.” The eerie and club-ready beat remains to be mostly unchanged as both femcees trade bars, hyping each other up. “Go Meg, go Meg, go Meg!” GloRilla raps. Conversely Megan spits, “Get em’ Glo, get em’ Glo, get ’em Glo.” Just from this snippet alone, we can tell this will be on repeat when it drops this Friday April 5.

What are your thoughts on Megan Thee Stallion and GloRilla’s teaser for their new song? How do you feel about the “Pretty Boy Swag” sample? Is this going to be the song of the summer, why or why not? Do you see this resulting in people wanting more collabs with these two down the road? Are these Megan singles shaping up her next project to be her best one yet? Is GloRilla officially back? GloRilla Reflects on Her White House Visit: ‘I Was Geeked’

GloRilla Tapped as Audiomack's Latest #UpNow Artist

GloRilla is reflecting on her visit to the White House where she met President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Speaking on CNN, GloRilla revealed she was “geeked.”

“Everybody don’t get to meet the President and the Vice President,” GloRilla said. “I never thought in a million years I’d be in the White House. Then, I was in the White House and got to meet the President and Vice President? I was like, ‘Now, they can’t mess with me!’”

GloRilla’s Unexpected CNN Interview Goes Viral Thanks To Her Latest Philosophical One-Liner

Part of the appeal that has helped Memphis rapper GloRilla become such a fan favorite in the past 24 months is her down-home relatability and unpracticed earnestness. Every interview or social post brings a new gem; from inspirational messages encouraging fans to persevere through hard times to hilarious but unembarrassed admissions about her blind spots in life, Glo is willing to share exactly what she thinks in the moment and often packages her observations in easily digestible soundbytes.

For instance, the comment she’s currently going viral for comes courtesy of an interview with CNN regarding her recent visit to the White House, of all places. Appearing on Laura Coates Live, Glo declined to “talk politics” — again acknowledging one of those unlearned blind spots of hers — but her conversation-ending quote earned fans’ admiration for its philosophical airs. “I’m not gonna talk politics, I love the president, I love everybody,” she said. “But at the end of the day, the day gotta end.”

And although she didn’t get into any political beliefs, she seemed pretty enthused to get the opportunity to meet President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. “Everybody don’t get to meet the President and the Vice President,” she gushed, “So just being able to be in the White House == like I never in a million years thought I’d be in the White House. Then I was in the White House and got to meet the President and Vice President? Oh, they can’t mess with me.”

“It means everything to me, because we really did come from absolute nothing,” she continued. “When we was living in that blue house with all my brothers and sisters, nobody never would’ve thought nobody would have been in the White House. It was just a proud moment for my mama. She called me so happy, she was super excited and that’s one of the reasons I be more happy about my accomplishments than anything else, because of how proud my mom and my dad be.” Check out some responses to her interview below.
