Bobbi Althoff Pays Funny Marco $20K For Launching Her Career

Bobbi Althoff has paid Funny Marco $20K for “putting her on” during a recent conversation between the two of them. Many commenters online have said that the payment is fair “because she stole his whole style”. However, many people are losing their minds over Marco asking Althoff if the money is “a setup”. Marco has every right to be cautious. He probably has issues trusting interview subjects after the drama with G Herbo and Southside. Be sure to watch the full clip below.

However, there is a core difference between their interviews. Althoff has been criticized for seemingly being a lot more personable and engaging with the white interviewees compared to her previous viral interviews with Drake, Shaq, and Offset. While Althoff maintains her deadpan style in clips with Scarlett Johansson, there is less of her now-signature stand-off demeanor that drove the engagement to her previous interviews.

Bobbi Althoff Settles Divorce

Elsewhere, Althoff has settled her divorce from her husband Corey, according to a report from TMZ. The couple will ask for joint legal and physical custody of their two children and will cover their own attorney fees. According to TMZ, the divorce stems from Bobbi’s meteoric rise to fame over the last 12 months being at odds with her tech VP husband’s desire for a more low-key life. Althoff became an overnight sensation after years on the content grind with little success. She has since done viral podcast episodes with the likes of Drake, Offset, and Sukihana.

However, both parties have reportedly denied that the divorce has anything to do with the rumors that Bobbi slept with Drake. Seemingly started by Dave Portnoy of Barstool, Bobbi has vehemently called the rumors “baseless” and even managed to extract an apology from the controversial media mogul for disseminating the rumors. Althoff has released a preliminary statement about her divorce but has not said much about the proceedings since. It’s clear that Althoff is powering through, as evidenced by her return to work.

Bobbi Althoff Responds To Claims She Copied Funny Marco, Says She Never Watched Him Before

Bobbi Althoff has denied the claims she copied Funny Marco’s interview style, arguing that she had never heard of him before she started her own show. She discussed the accusations while speaking with the comedian on his podcast, Open Thoughts.

“I say to that, that you took my stuff,” she joked during the episode. “No, I know you didn’t. But to be fair, I couldn’t take your stuff because I had never seen you at all when I was already doing [videos].” She added that she found Marco’s work through a friend who described the two of them as “so similar.”

G Herbo Defends Funny Marco Trolling: “We Already Had A Relationship”

G Herbo says Funny Marco’s production staff told him to troll the YouTuber during their tense interview, last October. Reflecting on the incident during a new appearance on Drink Champs, Herbo explained that the two already had a relationship with one another.

“Marco first and foremost, that’s my man,” Herbo began in the clip below. “We already had a relationship prior to doing the interview and s**t. So originally [Southside] was supposed to did the interview, the episode, and they had his production staff told us to troll him. It was supposed to be a surprise to come on to troll him. We wasn’t originally just on bulls**t, we was a little off the sauce. We was a little extra overboard, but the whole thing was to come on there intimidate him on his show like pull a him on him.”

Herbo continued: “I spoke to him before we even came out and we was good. I don’t know if it was like a confusion between our staff and his production team where we didn’t think it really wanted to come out. Nah it was cool, we ain’t trippin’, like public perception and what people are gonna take from it. G Herbo Says Viral Bullying of Funny Marco Was Staged

G Herbo revealed his viral interview with Southside on Funny Marco’s show was staged.

In case you missed it, Marco was bullied, insulted, and even had his $30,000 watch deliberately broken by Southside and G-Herbo.

Funny Marco took to social media to let everyone know that the incident was not scripted, and he posted it on his socials so that his followers could see what actually happened and also so that he could learn from this humiliating experience.

In an appearance on Drink Champs, Herbo said it was all a big troll job, revealing a positive relationship with Marco.

“We already had a relationship prior to doing the interview and shit,” Herbo said. “And the head of his production staff told us to, like, troll him. Like, it was supposed to be a surprise to come on there to troll him.”

Herbo admitted he and Southside were “a little off the sauce” but ultimately there is no “bad blood.”

Funny Marco Trolls Blueface Over Jaidyn Alexis’ “Barbie (Remix)”

2023 saw plenty of headline-making moments from our favourite singers and rappers, but we’ve also had a notable increase in the number of famous podcasters stealing the spotlight. Previously, figures like DJ Akademiks and Joe Budden were among the primary voices narrating the entertainment news landscape. Now, it’s easier than ever for others to chime in and build their platforms, such as we’ve seen with names like Bobbi Althoff and Funny Marco. The former (a white woman with connections in the industry) has been accused of jacking the latter’s (a Black man coming up on his own accord) comedy style, though he said in a recent interview that he’s open to heading out on tour with her in the future.

DaBaby, Sexyy Red, and Toosii were among the first guests on Marco’s Open Thoughts YouTube channel. Meanwhile, Althoff spoke with Drake (though his interview has since been taken down), Tyga, and Shaq, and few others before taking a hiatus for the holidays last month. In his second most recent episode, Marco spoke with Blueface, following a sitdown with his MILF Music signee, Jaidyn Alexis, a few days before. In one viral clip from the two men’s talk, the host fails to name three songs by the “Thotiana” rapper, causing him to walk out.

For the most part, Blue is more focused on managing Alexis and MILF Music than putting out new songs of his own. However, he did join the mother of two on the remix of her “Barbie” hit single today (January 3), giving Marco the perfect opportunity to troll the Californian. “Hay, I know three songs now! Blue,” he wrote, mimicking his awkward demeanour even through text.

Last month, Nicki Minaj sat down for an interview with Funny Marco. She’s been all over the place recently promoting her new album Pink Friday 2. It’s her first new album in 5 years and she delivered quite a big drop for fans. The album featured a full 22 tracks which added up to 70 minutes. It also featured some contributions from major hip-hop artists. J. Cole, Drake, Future, Lil Uzi Vert, and Lil Wayne all make appearances on the album. It also features some of her hit singles from recent years like “Super Freaky Girl” and “Red Ruby Da Sleaze.:

But of all the interviews Nicki has done for the album the funniest one is probably with Funny Marco. Even when posting about the interview she described it in strange terms. As soon as it dropped fans were highlighting their favorite clips and screenshots to use as social media reactions. Clearly, there were good feelings between Nicki and Funny Marco and she decided to get him a gift. Earlier this week, Nicki Minaj posted a pictured that surprised both her and her fans. Mainly because it wasn’t actually her making the post. A picture of a red lamb truck with a bow on it was shared to her Instagram story. The post tagged Marco and had the caption “look outside your window right now. Surprise boi!” The post garnered some pretty fascinated reactions from fans online assuming Nicki has given the pretty significant gift.

But a few hours later Nicki returned to her story to explain. “I told them to post a pic of the best lamb chops I got for @funnymarco but they had thought that I said red lamb truck,” she hilariously explained. Fittingly, the explanation post came attached to a picture of some admittedly pretty delicious looking lamb chops. Funny Marco Thinks Bobbi Althoff Joint Tour Could Still Happen

If there was an award for “Best Breakout Comedy Star of 2023,” both Funny Marco and Bobbi Althoff would easily be in the running. They’ve been hard at work for longer, but this year is when they really started to get a lot more attention, laughs, and opportunities. However, it seems like things between the two are not as buddy-buddy as they once were, or Marco is just trolling us a little with his demeanor. Moreover, he recently spoke to Complex‘s Speedy Morman for 360 With Speedy at ComplexCon 2023 and addressed a previous promise that they would go on tour together eventually.

As their conversation began to wrap up, Morman asked Funny Marco about Bobbi Althoff and how he appeared on her show. When he asked what their relationship is like and whether they’ll go on the tour that they promised, Marco started drinking from his water bottle and asked how much time they had left (3 minutes, by the way). Speedy had already mentioned that their initial dates disappeared, so something must’ve happened, and Marco said that “she didn’t feel good,” so they scrapped it. Once Althoff feels better, though, he’s down to hop back on the road and talk about “just a whole bunch of fun stuff.”

Furthermore, during this same sit-down, Funny Marco also spoke on his first-ever Open Thoughts interview with DaBaby. “It was dangerous,” he chuckled. “When I asked DaBaby why he rapped the same, I was trying to ask for the people. That was something I shouldn’t have did, but I did it. But it was great. We ended up making a great episode, got a great relationship. But sometimes I’m like, don’t ask what the people want to know– just ask what you need to know. So that was something that I learned from that.”

Meanwhile, Althoff’s been pretty low-key as of late, perhaps due to backlash for recent interview snippets. Either way, if she’s not feeling well, we wish her a speedy recovery with hopes that she’ll be able to enjoy this tour. These comedians are known for their dry humor, so that bizarre chemistry should be something pretty comical to see. Funny Marco On DaBaby’s “Open Thoughts” Episode: “It Was Dangerous”

During a recent conversation on Complex‘s 360 With Speedy, Funny Marco reflected on his first-ever episode of Open Thoughts, which saw him interview DaBaby. According to him, he learned a few lessons from the experience, including not to ask guests shady questions. He recalled questioning why DaBaby sounds the same on all of his songs, which looking back, he would have second guessed.

“It was dangerous,” he explained jokingly. “When I asked DaBaby why he rapped the same, I was trying to ask for the people. That was something I shouldn’t have did but I did it. But it was great. We ended up making a great episode, got a great relationship. But sometimes I’m like, don’t ask what the people want to know – just ask what you need to know. So that was something that I learned from that.”

While Funny Marco’s interview with DaBaby certainly had its fair share of awkward moments, it’s far from the only Open Thoughts episode to make headlines. He sat down with G Herbo and Southside in October, which resulted in a fairly controversial interview. As they filmed the episode, the two artists broke Marco’s $30K watch, called him names, and overall, appeared to be bad guests. Luckily, he was also able to use that situation as a learning experience and move on relatively unscathed.

“I was upset while it was going on,” he told social media followers shortly after the interview dropped. “But I understand I got a job to do & one thing about me, I respect people on my show. I didn’t want to match they Energy. It’s so many L’s I took on my Journey I wish I could show I don’t hide anything. So I feel it was only right to put the episode out myself. She’s also appeared on Joe Budden’s podcast for a very long conversation about all her recent undertakings that was released overnight.

But in one of her strangest interviews yet, she sits down with Funny Marco. In her announcement tweet about the release of the interview she even draws attention to how weird it is. “MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! Nicki Minaj Previews Funny Marco Interview

Nicki Minaj is throwing all hands on deck for the post-release promotion of her brand new album, Pink Friday 2. Moreover, fans are still poring over it, debating its quality, and picking their favorite tracks, a sentiment that will likely hold us over until the next project. However, she seems quite happy to bask in it all rather than take a break now, and she is promoting a lot of new interviews, conversations, bonus tracks, upcoming releases, appearances, her world tour, and so much more. The most recent example of this is a preview the rapper gave of an upcoming interview with comedian and social media star Funny Marco.

Previously, the two had met on Instagram Live to discuss the possibility of putting something together. For those unaware, Funny Marco is a new star in this slightly awkward, blunt, but nonetheless engaging and relatable brand of comedy these days. As such, we’re sure that he and Nicki Minaj had a great conversation filled with soon-to-be beloved moments. Either that or it was a much more chaotic and unhinged sit-down than expected, which we guess is its own bizarre form of engagement.

Nevertheless, this is the Trinidadian MC’s latest appearance with a notable content creator of sorts, and there are plenty of other notable ones. For example, she joined fellow New Yorker Kai Cenat for his recent Twitch stream, and it was about as much fun as you’d expect. Nicki Minaj tried to learn the Jersey club dance, but also had fun throwing it back for the chat. Considering that she’s not always outside despite a pretty heavy online presence, it’s actually quite sweet to see her engaging with fans, other creators, and the industry as a whole again. Not that the 41-year-old always has to, but we’d missed it for some time.

Meanwhile, with the return of Roman soon approaching, many fans can’t wait to see what other songs she will add onto Pink Friday 2.
