Yung Miami & Skilla Baby Are On That “CFWM” Energy: Listen

Yung Miami has been dealing with a lot of noise in her life mainly due to her troubled man Diddy. However, she has not been in the clear either. The femcee was handed down a lawsuit for copyright over “Act Bad,” a collaboration with Diddy and Fabolous. She did not appreciate how that all went down, saying, “I’m so tired of the internet & ppl f***ing with me everyday!!!” Furthermore, her and her City Girls bandmate JT were also at odds for a minute before eventually making up on X.

Clearly, there is a lot on Yung Miami’s mind and she may have just vented those frustrations on “CFWM.” It is an all-new single that dropped today and it features Detroit’s own Skilla Baby. This is the first these two have come together for a track and it is all about feeling beautiful and confident. It is a self-affirming anthem for the ladies and Miami definitely delivers the energy.

OT7 Quanny and YTB Fatt have quite a bit in common if you were not aware. Each rapper hails from the Eastern part of the U.S., with OT hailing from Philadelphia and YTB out of Memphis. Furthermore, each artist has not been in the industry for that long. Additionally, their styles are almost identical. Both love to bring high-energy trap bangers with a bit of character to boot.

Which is why this collaboration between them makes so much sense. Lil Mabu & Lil Baby Love To Be Counted Out On “UNDERDOG SONG”

Lil Mabu is not taken all that seriously in the hip-hop community. Some feel he is just leeching off the culture of the genre to gain fame and attention. Others think he is simply a troll who knows how to capitalize on trends on the internet. Then, there are people who believe he just is not talented in the slightest. Overall, the New York native gets hate, hate, and then some hate on the regular. But with “UNDERDOG SONG,” Lil Mabu welcomes the negativity, as does Lil Baby.

This track appears on the Manhattan native’s newest record YOUNG GENIUS, which is funny nod to how Mabu operates online. Furthermore, this is the first time him and Lil Baby have worked together. Overall, it is a pretty lackluster song. The auto-tuned vocals from Mabu do not sound that pleasing to the ear and Baby’s contributions are pretty by the numbers.

Mabu does flash his ability to rap fast with solid breath control in the second half of the track. The beat is not bad either with hard-hitting kick drums. I can’t f*** with those (Not at all) / N****s act like they won’t fold, knowing that they told (How you switch up?).”

Doja Cat had fans’ eyes raised when she dropped a trailer last week for an upcoming track on Scarlet 2: CLAUDE. The R&B cut teased the music video along with a secret but familiar silhouette. Massive shoulder pads had people guessing that it was Teezo Touchdown. Those assumptions were right on the money when the deluxe dropped over the weekend. Doja Cat and Teezo’s collab “MASC” is about the complexities of relationships and common issues that can arise.

One selling point of the track is of course these two talents teaming up together for the first time. Both have proven to be very versatile, being able to sing and rap over a variety of instrumentals. “MASC” showcases the first of those two skills, with Doja opening things up with a sticky melody and cadence. “Boy, we way too grown / For this s*** (Mm),” she sings.

Teezo comes in on the third verse and delivers some powerful vocals as well. Quavo & Destroy Lonely Mesh Well On Their First Song “Potato Loaded”

People had some sneaky suspicions that Quavo and Destroy Lonely could be cooking up something in the studio. Photos surfaced near the very start of 2024 when NLE Choppa shared a post on social media of him chopping it up with the two aforementioned artists. While most people were probably expecting the Memphis rapper to be a part of the collab, that is sadly not the case. However, Quavo and Destroy Lonely are more than enough to get excited about.

Those earlier sessions have resulted in this new single right here, “Potato Loaded.” This is a Quavo single, as Lonely is credited as the feature, which makes this his third solo effort. The former Migo also worked with ATL Jacob and BU$HI as a guest. So, this could mean a third album could be in the works.

Those possible promotional records include “Real One” with Rich The Kid, and “Himothy.” So far, “Potato Loaded” may be the strongest of three. Megan Thee Stallion and GloRilla have just shared an exciting preview of their upcoming song. Two of the biggest female rappers in the game will be teaming up for the first time in what sounds like it will be a banger for the summer. Both artists have been going through a bit of a resurgence. For the Texas native, she has bounced back tremendously with “Cobra” and “HISS,” with both being perhaps the strongest cuts of her career. As for the Memphis star, “Yeah Glo!” has proven to be a return to form in most people’s eyes after some harsh criticism of her recent output.

This collaboration makes sense in that aspect for Glo and Megan, but also for this reason. With Glo going on Meg’s Hot Girl Summer Tour starting in May, they can now perform something together whenever they are both on stage. Megan dropped a short video with her newest collaborator on Instagram with a sneak peek of the track earlier today. In addition to these two teaming up for the first time, the other exciting part about this is the sample.

Moneybagg Yo is one of the most prolific Memphis rappers in the modern era. The CMG/Bread Gang Music Group MC has one of the largest catalogs with about 19 projects, not including deluxe versions. Even though we are accustomed to hearing multiple projects from him every year, 2023 was perhaps his biggest. In 2024, Moneybagg Yo is starting off with a raunchy bang by dropping “Bussin” with Rob49.

This marks the first-ever track with the Tennessee and Louisiana natives, as they rap about women and sex. It is easily one of the most bombastic tracks we have heard all year. The NSFW lyrics are not being subliminal whatsoever as you know what Yo and Rob49 are talking about on this cut. Helping with this basic trap banger are the master producers of the subgenre Tay Keith and Wheezy.

Doechii & JT Are Unbothered On Party-Ready Banger “Alter Ego”

Doechii is one of the many talented ladies on the Top Dawg Entertainment label. What makes her such a valuable asset to them is her ability to write catchy radio hits or go experimental at any given moment. A perfect example to look at is going from “What It Is” to “Pacer” in a span of about six months. Doechii is now following up the latter with another intriguing offering, “Alter Ego,” with JT of City Girls.

This last handful of singles over the past year, including “Booty Drop,” could all very well be on her next LP. While we still await a title and release date, she was supposedly confirmed to be dropping a tape, along with a host of other TDE artists. “Alter Ego” marks the first collaboration between Doechii and JT and it goes over pretty well. If you are looking for a uber-confident listening experience, then this will hit the spot.

Both femcees are bringing all their energy into the club-ready track. Zach Witness and Doechii both had a hand in the production. There were photos of the two of them in the studio together, as well as a screenshot of the rapper on FaceTime with the hitmaker. Dating rumors were sparked when the “Magnolia” creator captioned the studio session Instagram story post saying, “baby girl.” Now, we know that they were cooking up a new song “I LUV IT” which is out now.

Cabello is no stranger to linking with hip-hop artists throughout her career. During her Fifth Harmony days, the radio was constantly bumping “Work from Home” with Ty Dolla $ign. “Worth It” with Kid Ink was also another party hit during that era. Of course, when she went solo, Camila put out “Havana” with Young Thug and “My Oh My” with DaBaby.

Most saw those previous crossovers as successful. However, “I LUV IT” is not getting the reaction that Carti and Camila may have not been expecting. People are extremely mixed on it so far with some saying that this ruined Carti’s “generational run.” The deeper delivery makes its return to a fast-paced beat that just does not fit the lighter tone of the song. Additionally, while repetitive choruses can be done right, Camila’s “I love it” refrain just does not come off right. Finally, the Gucci Mane “Lemonade” post-chorus sample is out of place too.
