Travis Scott & Playboi Carti’s “FE!N” Played At White House, Seems To Drown Out Protests

For some reason, the White House seemingly played Travis Scott and Playboi Carti’s “FE!N,” which rang all around the surrounding area of Lafayette Square, or at least, from what a recently surfaced video can gather. Given that you can hear a lot of commotion and what sounds like chants in the background, plus the “Free Gaza” message that is displayed in the video, conspiracy theories emerged that officials played music to quell protestors calling for the United States to advocate for a ceasefire in the Israel and Palestine conflict. Thousands gathered around the government building, and since this clip is from the nighttime, it’s unclear what the status of these protests were at the time.

In addition, it’s important to consider that the city of Washington, D.C. celebrated its annual Capital Pride events this weekend as well, so there was a lot going on in the city both indifferent to and against government action. We can’t confirm whether or not this was actually the case for Travis Scott and Playboi Carti’s “FE!N,” so take this interpretation with a grain of salt. What we do know is that the duo will both probably perform this song either together or separately at Chicago’s Summer Smash festival from Lyrical Lemonade next week. As one of the most explosive mainstream rap hits of the past year, it should make for a pretty cool moment.

Elsewhere, we’re sure that Travis Scott and Playboi Carti will continue to stretch “FE!N” out to its maximum potential and replay value. They’ve played it over and over again at concerts, gave SNL a nice rendition, performed it at the Grammys, and so much more. Hopefully this White House cameo is all a big misunderstanding. Using that track as a way to silence protestors would be an ugly evolution for it.

Meanwhile, if you are still in the D.C. area -– whether you’re protesting, celebrating Pride Month, or just going about your day -– we hope you stay safe and alert during this hectic time in the city. Keep fighting your good fight. If you’re just a Travis Scott and Playboi Carti fan excited about a White House shoutout, we’re sure that other collabs like this year’s “Type S**t” with Metro Boomin and Future have you fiending for another. We’ll see when’s the next time that the “Green & Purple” duo connect.

Travis Scott Surprise Drops “CHASE B REMIX” Of “FE!N,” But Fans Are Trashing It

Travis Scott easily had one of the most successful albums of 2023 period last year with his long-awaited fourth studio album UTOPIA. It went on to spawn some incredible and impactful songs that are well on their way to being some of the biggest of his career. “I KNOW ?” “MELTDOWN,” “TELEKENESIS,” and of course, “FE!N,” are among the big ticket cuts. To further establish the latter in his discography Travis Scott is bringing a CHASE B REMIX into the fold.

The remix’s title is a nod to fellow Houston, Texas DJ and producer CHASE B. He has a lot of close ties with Scott, crafting beats for some of his catalog. For this reimagining, the veteran is transforming the rage rap track into a dance record. With a version like this, the lyrics are at a minimum. In fact, Playboi Carti’s verse is totally scrapped in the process. This is not the only major Scott track to receive a dance facelift. His 2016 mega hit “goosebumps” got HVME involved and that became a huge song in its own right.

Underneath the YouTube comments have not been glowing to say the least. “This the version Fein that a middle school dance would play,” one person comments. “Tiktok rizz party version,” another adds. “Bro dropped this and now he needs to pick it back up😭🙏🏼” Let us know what you think and check it out above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “FE!N (CHASE B REMIX)” by Travis Scott & CHASE B? Is this his best dance remix ever, why or why not? Travis Scott & Playboi Carti Drop Dizzying Music Video For “FE!N”

It is crazy to think that Travis Scott put out UTOPIA just over eight months ago. It feels like the album only dropped about one month ago with how much we are still bumping the record. While it did not nab La Flame that elusive GRAMMY award he so desperately seeks, it was still easily a top-five LP from 2023. Tracks like “I KNOW ?” “MY EYES,” “TELEKINESIS,” “MODERN JAM,” and so many others were some of the strongest records of the year. “I KNOW ?”, arguably the biggest song from the tape, got its well-deserved visuals. However, fans have been waiting on the “FE!N” music video, too.

But, we can officially say now that we do not have to continue to hope for that any longer. Travis and the song’s feature, Playboi Carti, put together some freaky visuals for the rage collaboration. Some fans have been mixed on the visuals for the album so far, but maybe some will enjoy the cool shots for “FE!N.” If you like spinning videography, then this is the video for you.

Both rappers are constantly shown rotating at blistering speeds, along with some random people, beds, cars, and more. We feel that the artistic reaction matches what “FE!N” was set out to do. It is supposed to give you the feeling that you can run through a wall unscathed. The shots are just as crazy as the beat, evoking a sense of just raging out of control.

What are your thoughts on the brand-new music video for “FE!N” by Travis Scott and Playboi Carti? Does this video fit the song well, why or why not? Is this song still in your rotation? Joe Budden Was Disgusted By Travis Scott And Playboi Carti’s 2024 Grammys Performance: ‘Get The F*ck Off The Stage’

Travis Scott’s Utopia — Circus Maximus Tour recently wrapped after months of generating headlines, including the fact that he performed “FE!N” 10 times in a row. Scott explained during a December appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that he chose to repeatedly run through the song because “I have, like, the best fans in the world, and I go off the energy they give me, and they were wild that night, and so I just got even wilder.”

Meanwhile, Joe Budden hates it.

Scott performed “FE!N” with Playboi Carti, the featured artist on the Utopia track, during the 2024 Grammys last Sunday, February 4, and Budden was less than impressed.

“What the f*ck is Travis and his man doing up here?” Budden said in a clip making the rounds on X (formerly Twitter). “You two bozos, get the f*ck off the stage when n****s got beautiful women and tuxedos on, honestly. You up there smashing sh*t.”

Budden added, “All that sh*t look different when it ain’t a thousand little white kids jumping up and down. Ay, when there are grown people here, all that, ‘Fein! Fein! Fein!’ That’s what you wanted to win over Killer Mike?” (Scott’s Utopia was nominated for Best Rap Album, which Killer Mike won for Michael.)

Budden called Scott “stupid” before continuing to mockingly imitate Scott’s performance. And just when you think it couldn’t get any more brutal, Budden brought Carti into the criticism.

“And then you bring your man out,” he said. “This is how I knew I was in the f*cking matrix. You bring your man out, Playboi Carti, the crowd just stares silent. Playboi Carti looked confused. Like, ‘Y’all don’t know who I am?’ No, n***a! You got a f*cking mask on! Who the f*ck are you under there? You are not at South By Southwest [SXSW] anymore. We can’t recognize you bozos by the stocking mask you’re wearing. I hate these n****s, man. All of ’em!”

But it wasn’t all hate. Budden added, “I love that song, but not when the tuxedos are out. Take that sh*t to the dirty Coachella grass, n****.”

Why Does Travis Scott Perform ‘Fe!n’ So Many Times In A Row Live?

Travis Scott has fallen into a peculiar routine during his recent concerts: He’ll regularly perform his song “Fe!n” a bunch of times in a row. At an Oklahoma show in November, for example, he played the song ten times. Now, he’s offered an explanation.

Why Does Travis Scott Perform ‘Fe!n’ So Many Times In A Row Live?

Scott was a guest on The Tonight Show yesterday (December 21), and towards the end of the conversation, Jimmy Fallon noted that Scott performed “Fe!n” ten times at a recently Brooklyn concert and asked why. Scott responded, “Man, I have, like, the best fans in the world, and I, you know, I go off the energy they give me, and they were wild that night, and so I just got even wilder.”

He added, “Tonight, I plan on going even crazier in MSG.”

Indeed, Scott upped the ante at his Madison Square Garden concert: setlist.fm lists the song 45 times on the setlist, although fans on Reddit indicate it was more like 14 times.

Elsewhere during the conversation, he also discussed his recent courtside incident at a New York Knicks game, in which a wayward basketball caused him to spill his drink on the court, so check out the full interview above.
