YBC Dul’s Father Speaks Out After Rapper’s Death

Abdul Vicks, who performed under the name YBC Dul, was shot and killed in West Philadelphia on Friday afternoon at the age of 25. He was hit multiple times in the chest and right hand before being transported to a nearby hospital. There, he was pronounced dead. Police have yet to make any arrests in the case.

Vicks’ father mourned his son in a post on social media after news of the shooting broke. “Hey all of my son friends / family.. etc i am dul’s father,” he began, as caught by No Jumper. “I was handed over all my babyboys belongs this morning by his close friends & I wanted to clear up any confusion my son Abdul Vicks was murdered yesterday afternoon broad daylight while sitting in the back of his car alongside with his friend who was also shot in the hand my son was not on a bike when he was killed nothing of that such so that video going around is not him stop the false news,” he said. Further in his post, his father admitted that his son wasn’t always a “saint.” Prosecutors had previously accused Vicks of being the ringleader of a violent gang, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Cardi B Checks Candace Owens For Claiming Sonya Massey’s Murder Wasn’t Racially Motivated

Earlier this week, Candace Owens shared her take on the murder of Sonya Massey, an Illinois woman who was fatally shot by a police officer after calling 911 over concerns about a prowler. Owens argued that the shooting was not racially motivated, telling other Black Americans not to “take this bait.” She also claimed that unarmed white Americans are more likely to be shot and killed by police than Black Americans.

“Police officers are human beings, there are mistakes that happen,” she said. “The idea that now you’re going to use this situation … To then try to make Black Americans believe that this happened simply because she was Black, is pointedly ridiculous.” Many were quick to call Owens out for her questionable comments, including Cardi B.

Cardi B Shuts Down Candace Owens’ Claims

The “Enough” rapper took to Twitter Spaces last night to share her own thoughts, slamming Owens for her lack of empathy and rejecting her claims. “Today she said something so disturbing about the Sonya Massey case,” Cardi began. “For you to sit here and say that ‘Oh not everything is racial. I know that this is sad, but this is not something racial. There’s more white people that get killed by the cops’ […] Girl shut up.”

“You don’t feel one little bit of empathy, a little bit of sympathy of how this woman died?” she continued. “There was no argument, there was no conflict, there was no raised voice, and she got shot. He knew in the back of his head because she was a Black woman that he was going to get away with it. Tan DaGod, a rising rapper in Oakland, was reportedly shot and killed at the grand opening of a beauty store in her hometown on Saturday. She had shared the address on Instagram and asked fans to pull up just hours before the tragic incident. “4013 TELEGRAPH OAKLAND CA !’ JULY 13th! The Cott & I Will be there from 12-1 please be on time if you wanna meet & Greet & see the Cott live,” she captioned several photos of herself at the event.

Fans shared plenty of supportive messages and prayers in the comments section of the post. “To have been murdered the day of your meet and greet release is inhumane,” one fan wrote. “I am praying that God handles the situation as he sees fit and justice is service. You were loved by many people on my timeline! God bless your transition!” Another complained about the lack of support she received before her death. “It’s crazy how her following went up a few thousand just in a matter of hours, but y’all didn’t give her her flowers when SHE WAS HERE!!!!” they wrote. “Everyone who dismissed her, ignored her talent, y’all missed tf out, now she gone and y’all wanna fake support and post her! In another post on social media, Tan shared that her family were at the event as well. “We here. I got granny in the cut. Don’t play with it,” the rapper said in one video caught by The Sun. “Come f**king shop. They got everything you need.”

The Oakland Police Department confirmed to KRON4 that paramedics found two gunshot victims when they arrived on the scene. In addition to Tan, who died at the hospital, another person is expected to make a recovery. So far, no arrests have been made and police say they are still working to identify the shooter. Foolio Offered Fans The Address To His Birthday Party Where He Was Tragically Murdered

Foolio tragically passed away at age 26 in Tampa, Florida early Sunday (June 23) following a shooting at his continued birthday celebrations. Moreover, he had shared via his Instagram Stories that he was sending the address to people DM’ing him and asked folks to reach out if they wanted to pull up. Of course, this move is facing a lot of criticism, scrutiny, and saddened reevaluation in the wake of this tragedy. The Jacksonville rapper had promoted his pool party a lot online, and when police said that there were too many people inside his Airbnb, he moved to a Holiday Inn and let fans know as well, and that was where unknown perpetrators at press time “ambushed” him and shot him according to his lawyer Lewis Fusco.

“What we have learned, and this is early in the investigation, two cars were shot at,” Joneé Lewis relayed, who is a public information officer for the Tampa Police Department. “The victim in this morning’s shooting is believed to be Charles Jones [Foolio’s birth name]. Positive identification is pending confirmation from the Medical Examiner’s Office.” “At approximately 4:40 am, Tampa Police received a 911 call for a shooting at 11606 McKinley Drive,” the department told XXL, confirming the loss of Foolio. “A total of four people were injured in the shooting. One person was pronounced deceased, three other victims are being treated at the hospital.

“Their condition is listed as stable at this time,” Tampa PD’s statement on Foolio continued. “Police are investigating what led up to the shooting and working to identify those involved. This is an active investigation. Additional information will be released when available. Anyone with information related to this shooting incident is asked to contact Tampa PD. Chris King Shooting: Police Narrow Down Suspect

Police are looking for 19-year-old Adrian Cameron Jr. for the fatal shooting of Chris King in Nashville on Saturday. They authorized the criminal homicide warrant after he was identified as one of the three suspects involved in the robbery-related shooting outside of a music studio. Cameron is reportedly out on bond for the September 2021 murder of Josh Evans.

“The criminal homicide case was transferred from Juvenile Court to Criminal Court. As a part of his bond conditions, Cameron was on an ankle monitor. Data from the monitor shows it was cut off shortly after Saturday’s shooting,” police said, according to local news outlet, WSMV.

After early rumors of King being targeted in a shooting, his longtime collaborator Trippie Redd confirmed the news on Instagram. “I am so hurt rn I can’t even think I love you bro come back!!!!! @whoischrisking,” Trippie wrote. “I can’t catch a break.” Afterward, several fans and celebrities shared tributes for the late rapper. Actor Keke Palmer was among them. She shared a screenshot of the two of them on iChat from many years ago. “Chris King! Kodak Black & Jackboy‘s Feud Leads To Fatal Shooting, Police Claim

Kodak Black and Jackboy‘s beef led to a fatal shooting on January 16, 2023, according to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities say the incident occurred outside of a Jackboy concert at The Barn in Sanford, Florida, Neither artist was personally involved. Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma explained at a news conference that the shooters intended to target Jackboy’s crew, but wound up hitting another van. 31-year-old Princess Tolliver died on the scene.

“Our detectives have determined that none of the victims were the intended target that night,” Lemma announced. “We found that the likely motive for the incident stemmed from a very public, high-profile dispute playing out on social media and in the court system involving Jackboy and a known associate of the shooters, another rap artist Bill Kapri, known by the stage name Kodak Black.”

“It was clear [the suspects] had been watching this very public debate between Kodak Black and Jackboy … and probably took this as an opportunity to make a name for themselves,” he said at the same conference. After the shooting, the victim’s father, Edward, told WESH: “Now my daughter is dead because of this stupid gun activity and the racketeering and selling of drugs. She was just having a good time and now she’s dead.”

Police arrested 13 people in connection with the shooting. All of the victims are allegedly affiliated with the OTF gang. They say the investigation took over a year to conduct and involved 120 search warrants. The charges for the suspects include murder, attempted murder, racketeering, and car theft. As for Kodak Black and Jackboy, the two former friends began feuding in June 2021. In the years since, both artists have dissed each other publically on several occasions. Jigg And Celly Cell Pronounced Dead After Milwaukee Shooting

Earlier this week, two up-and-coming Milwaukee rappers, Joevon “Jigg” Wilder and Marcell “Celly Cell” Hendrix, were fatally shot in their home city. They were 26 and 24 years old, respectively. According to the medical examiner, Jigg was pronounced dead in a vehicle early Monday morning, while Celly Cell was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital less than an hour later.

Authorities have yet to release more information about the circumstances leading up to the shooting, and no arrests have been made at the time of writing. Their families held vigils for the late artists the following evening. The mother of Jigg’s child, Taylor Cross, reflected on the loss, noting how her late partner always managed to be there for his loved ones. “A great dad to his son, great son to his mother,” she called him. “You could count on him to be there for the people he loved.”

“His dad was super tough,” she added. “The toughest person I know. It’s depicted in his music but it doesn’t show his soft side. “He was a good father,” she says of her grandson, “He had a good personality. Sexyy Red Breaks Her Silence Following Fatal Shooting Near Music Video Set

It’s been a prolific summer for Sexyy Red. The rapper dominated social media and the charts with singles like “Pound Town” (and its sequel featuring Nicki Minaj) and the anthemic “Skeeyee.” However, on the heels of releasing “Hellcats SRTs 2” ft. Lil Durk, a deadly shooting took place near the set for her video shoot. Per Local 10, an assailant opened fire near Sexyy Red’s video shoot for her upcoming single, “Shake Ya Dread,” leaving one person dead.

On Thursday, Sept. 14th, Sexyy Red was filming a music video at Oakland Park Flea Market in Florida. But according to reports, an individual pulled out a firearm nearby and began shooting, striking two people with bullets. Authorities pronounced one of the victims dead at the scene of the crime. They said they rushed the second victim to the hospital, although their condition remains unknown. Broward Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Gerdy St. Louis said police are investigating to determine where the shooting was related to the video shoot.

Sexyy Red Sends Condolences To The Victims

As the news spread across social media, Sexyy Red issued a statement on social media where, first, she sent her condolences to the victims. “I send my condolences to the family of the man who lost his life and prayers up for the person who was wounded,” she wrote before addressing the narrative that’s been circulating online. “But I gotta address the rumors that it happened at my video shoot bc shit is not true, at all.”

“To be clear it happened at a gas station across the street from my video set. Florida Highway Patrol and Broward County Sheriff confirmed that the shooting wasn’t on my set,” she wrote. “[I’m] secure and thanks to my production team getting all the paperwork right and working with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to hire off-duty’s to make sure everyone was safe. Lefty SM Shot & Killed In Guadalajara, Mexican Rapper Was Only 31

Yet another tragedy has struck the world of hip-hop, this time taking place in Mexico. As HipHopDX reports, a shooting in Guadalajara this past weekend left 31-year-old Lefty SM dead. The foreign rapper’s record label, Alzada, confirmed the upsetting news in an Instagram post which has since been translated into English. “Dear Alzada friends and family, with profound sadness we’re informing you about the death of our brother, Lefty SM, Juan Carlos Sauceda,” they shared with followers.

The late lyricist leaves behind a wife, Maria Isabel, and the couple’s two daughters. At the time of his death, the “Volando” artist was reportedly attacked near his home in Mexico. Police haven’t yet shared a motive for the crime. An official report is expected to come from authorities later today (September 4). Fans both old and new are shocked by the news of Lefty’s death. Many of them have been sharing heartfelt tributes to the rising star online.

Aqib Talib Removing Himself From NFL Job Amid Youth Coach’s Fatal Shooting

Former NFL cornerback Aqib Talib is reportedly stepping away from his broadcasting duties after a recent Texas shooting that left a youth football coach dead.

The NFL Network reported the news about Talib, whose brother Yaqub is a suspect in the incident that happened earlier this month.

Coach Mike Hickmon was killed after a dispute involving the two brothers, who are both coaches of a North Dallas youth team. Yaqub recently turned himself in to police after a warrant was issued for his arrest, he is charged with murder.

Multiple witnesses allege the former NFL standout started the fight which sparked the shooting that left coach Hickmon dead. Heath Mays, a coach on the opposing football team, told WFAA-TV in Dallas that it was Aqib Talib who threw the first punch in the fatal brawl. A video that went viral shows a man swinging before someone else pulls a gun and shots are heard.

A statement released by Talib’s attorney maintains Aqib is “very distraught and devastated over this terrible loss of life.” He sends his “condolences to the family of the victim and to everyone who witnessed this unfortunate tragedy.”

Aqib was set to join Amazon’s Thursday Night Football coverage this upcoming season.
