Jigg And Celly Cell Pronounced Dead After Milwaukee Shooting

Earlier this week, two up-and-coming Milwaukee rappers, Joevon “Jigg” Wilder and Marcell “Celly Cell” Hendrix, were fatally shot in their home city. They were 26 and 24 years old, respectively. According to the medical examiner, Jigg was pronounced dead in a vehicle early Monday morning, while Celly Cell was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital less than an hour later.

Authorities have yet to release more information about the circumstances leading up to the shooting, and no arrests have been made at the time of writing. Their families held vigils for the late artists the following evening. The mother of Jigg’s child, Taylor Cross, reflected on the loss, noting how her late partner always managed to be there for his loved ones. “A great dad to his son, great son to his mother,” she called him. “You could count on him to be there for the people he loved.”

Jigg’s Grandmother Describes Him As A “Good Father

“His dad was super tough,” she added. “The toughest person I know. It’s depicted in his music but it doesn’t show his soft side. He loved his son so much, so much.” Jigg’s grandmother, Peggy Wright, also described the rapper as a “loving and caring person.” She additionally took the opportunity to raise attention to gun violence in the city, noting how something needs to be done. “Milwaukee is a lost town,” she explained. “It needs some help. They need to do something about all this killing. I know just with my grandson, it’s not going to stop.”

“He was a good father,” she says of her grandson, “He had a good personality. He was a character.” Wright also adds, “He was laid back and chill and would just write songs.” TeeGlazedIt, who worked alongside Jigg on various music videos, also shared a heartfelt message about the loss on Instagram. “Naw cuz this sh*t can’t be real,” he said. “We just had dat long a** talk in front everybody dey seen it. You was my brother you p*ssed me off plenty times but real brothers put dat sh*t aside we got years in dis sh*t… damn cuz.” Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Drake Trolls Fan He Spotted Sleeping At Milwaukee Show

It appears that Drake’s It’s All a Blur show in Milwaukee was an especially wild time. After coming out to the stage, Drake made a wild claim about who was meant to walk him out. Drizzy said that Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was meant to do it but that the Greek NBA icon was on “vacation”. In actuality, Giannis was in Greece preparing for the FIBA World Cup later this month.

Later in the show, the Toronto rapper noticed that one fan had managed to fall asleep. In response, Drake began singing louder and louder until the fan woke up to Drizzy singing directly at him and thousands of fans laughing hysterically. However, he wasn’t the only person who got trolled during the performance. Drake also delivered a hilarious backhanded compliment to another fan. The 6 God said the fan looked great “even though you’re wearing Yeezys.”

It’s All A Blur Tour Continues To Be Wild

However, the Milwaukee shenanigans are just the latest headlines in a truly wild tour from Drake. After starting nearly a month after it was supposed to, Drake’s had phones and bras thrown at him while also having fans face-plant at his guest stars. Meanwhile, the Kentucky Wildcats are training on his personal court. In short, it’s a very exciting time to be Drake. And that’s not getting into how he reignited his beef with Anna Wintour during his Boston shows. Fans spotted a giant, unflattering hologram of Wintour’s head multiple times during the concert.

Meanwhile, off the stage, Drake has tried to hook Bobbi Althoff up with his boy Smiley. He has also linked up with Kiyan Anthony. Oh, and he also chowed down on a random Uncrustable at one point. It feels like a tour stop doesn’t go by without Drake pulling at least one headline. Granted, a lot of them are about the bras that have been thrown onto the stage but regardless. The tour is set to continue until October, so there’s plenty more time for wild headlines. What’s been your favorite moment so far?

Drake Claims Giannis Antetokounmpo Couldn’t Walk Him Out In Milwaukee Because The NBA Star Is On “Vacation”

Drake has been getting a lot of big-name walkouts during his It’s All a Blur Tour. Many of these stars have been high-profile athletes such as Jayson Tatum and Lamar Jackson. However, at a tour stop in Milwaukee, Drake took a moment to make a bizarre and incorrect claim. Speaking to the audience, Drake said that he had asked Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo to walk him out but that Antetokounmpo had declined because he was on “vacation.”

Except Antetokounmpo isn’t on vacation. He’s currently with the Greek National Team preparing for the FIBA World Cup which begins later this month. In fact, on the same day as Drake’s Milwaukee concert, Giannis was literally playing in an exhibition game in Athens against Slovenia. Giannis’ World Cup campaign is set to begin against Jordan on August 26. Greece will also face the United States and New Zealand in the first group stage.

Bad Calls And Bad Bets From Drake

Furthermore, not knowing what his famous friends are up to isn’t the only mistake that Drake is seemingly making as of late. The Toronto rapper also recently revealed that he put down a $250,000 bet on Nate Diaz to beat Jake Paul in their August 5 boxing match in Texas. “Jake is a dog but I can never bet against a Diaz brother that’s just how I was raised,” Drake said while explaining his decision. Given how heavily the odds are stacked against Diaz, Drake will walk away with $1 million if Diaz wins.

However, Drake is definitely going against the prevailing opinion with his latest massive bet. While Diaz has a longer history of fighting experience, the reports of his training have been…worrying to say the least. Furthermore, Paul is younger, faster, and more athletic than the grizzled MMA veteran. Additionally, The Problem Child has already won four fights against MMA pros. Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, and Anderson Silva all thought they could take him down a peg on his terms. If this was in the Octagon, there would be legitimate fears for Paul’s life. But in reality, this is a feel-good fight to help restore Paul’s credibility before he attempts to take on an actual boxer again.

Patti LaBelle Concert Evacuated After Bomb Threat

Patti LaBelle rushed off stage at The Riverside Theater in Milwaukee on Saturday night after someone called in a bomb threat. Video from the incident shows several staff members escorting LaBelle away from the microphone.

In the clip, LaBelle yells out “Wait!” before the group attempts to remove her from the stage. After she departs, her bandmates quickly follow suit.

“Tonight’s @MsPattiPattishow at the Riverside Theater has been postponed following a bomb threat investigated by the Milwaukee Police Department,” the venue’s Twitter account announced. “We are thankful for the efforts of the Milwaukee Police Department and our customers and staff for their safe and orderly exit.”

Following LaBelle’s departure, staff helped evacuate the audience.

“Everybody very calmly exited the theater in a disbelieving manner,” attendee Scott Pierce told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “I heard lots of comments about how sad it was that someone would pull such a pathetic stunt.”

Milwaukee Police Capt. Warren E. Allen Jr. also addressed the incident in a statement to the outlet.

“Regarding the bomb threat in the 100 block of W. Wisconsin, all patrons have been safely evacuated,” Allen Jr. said. “Police are clearing the facility at this time. The investigation is fluid and ongoing.”

The MPD added: “The building was searched by K9 units. No explosive devices were discovered. There is no threat to the public at this time.”

The Riverside Theater says that it is working with LaBelle to reschedule the concert. As of Sunday afternoon, LaBelle has yet to address the incident on social media.

The word “Wiscansin” originates from T-Pain’s verse on the 2008 classic “Can’t Believe It” featuring Lil Wayne from his gold-selling third album, Three Ringz (Jive). T-Pain changed the pronunciation of the state, Wisconsin, to “Wiscansin” to make a rhyme with “mansion. The success of “Can’t Believe It” spawned a remix with Justin Timberlake. In 2018, T-Pain launched a collegiate-themed apparel line, Wiscansin University, inspired by the word.
