The Alchemist Predicts That Kendrick Lamar Will Drop An Album In 2024

The Alchemist is immortalized in rap battle history. He provided the beat for Kendrick Lamar’s “Meet the Grahams,” one of the most chilling disses ever recorded. He didn’t realize it would be a diss when he first made the beat, but that’s irrelevant now. The Alchemist is team Kendrick Lamar. It’s this association that led TMZ to question the producer about Dot’s upcoming release schedule. The outlet wanted to know if The Alchemist had the inside scoop on a secret album.

The Alchemist started his interaction by showing love to Lamar. He also gave a shout out to the work of a fellow producer, DJ Mustard, on “Not Like Us.” He described the diss as a “big record” worthy of number one single status. Alc then addressed the possibility of Lamar dropping a new album. “I think he’s gonna drop an album this year,” he asserted. The Alchemist made it clear that Lamar won the beef, and doesn’t have to drop, but has a good feeling. “I don’t think he has to,” the producer explained. “I think he will, just cuse he can.” TMZ asked The Alchemist whether he has more beats to give to Dot, and he made it clear that he did. He then pointed at his car and said: “I got some records in this car, I’m about to send them as soon as I get home.”

The Alchemist Plans On Sending Multiple Beats To K. Dot

The Alchemist and Kendrick Lamar have been collaborating since 2017. The former produced “The Heart Part IV” and the song “FEAR” off Lamar’s album DAMN. The two legends also linked up for the song “We Cry Together” off 2022’s Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers. The Alchemist has always spoken highly of K. Dot and his recording process. He went as far as to say that working on “FEAR” helped him to deal with the passing of his father. “Having a beat on it was one of the only good things that happened during that time that brought me back to life,” the producer wrote on Instagram in 2022. “I remember thanking Dot & telling him that he helped me in more ways than he could imagine.”

The Alchemist is seemingly everywhere these days. In addition to working with Lamar, the producer is hard at work on Eminem’s upcoming album. He didn’t produce Em’s new single, “Houdini,” but he told MTV that he was very much involved in the recording process. “That’s my boss,” he noted. “I deejay for him and I’m not at liberty to speak on much, but you know his caliber and what he does.” The Alchemist even made a cameo appearance in the music video for “Houdini.” We’re excited to see what him and Em cook up together.

The Alchemist Reveals Jay-Z Is The Rapper He Wants To Work With Most

The Alchemist is one of the most respected producers in the game. His name is synonymous with quality, whether he’s working with Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, or Larry June. The mere fact that he can work all three of these artists denotes a versatility that few producers can match. That being said, The Alchemist is not content to sit on his laurels. He may already have a Hall of Fame resume, but he talked about his dream collaboration during a recent interview with NFR Podcast.

The Alchemist and Cardo linked up to discuss their career goals, and the former made it very clear who he wants to work with: Jay-Z. Somehow, The Alchemist and Hov have yet to officially work together. This is something the producer wants to remedy as soon as possible. “Jay always been on my list,” he stated. “I been saying it for a hundred years. It’s Jay-Z. I would love to. We linked but I keep the faith.” He made it clear that there’s no ill will between him and Jay. He asserted, though, that he’d only want to collab with the Brooklyn rapper if the desire was mutual.

The Alchemist Has Known Jay-Z For Twenty Years

For The Alchemist, it’s all about respect and creative unity. “At this point, I hope it would be a mutual thing,” he explained. “Like I would want to work with somebody that would wanna work with me. There’s a couple that’s brewing that’s like bucket list sh*t for me that I hope happens. I still have hopes like that.” The closest The Alchemist and Jay-Z got to working together was on the 2020 Jay Electronica album, A Written Testimony. The Alchemist produced the song “The Neverending Story,” which Jay-Z eventually spit a verse on.

The Alchemist and Jay-Z have actually known each other for decades. They first met in New York in the early 2000s, which the producer recalled during a For the Record interview. “[Jay] leaned in my ear and was like, ‘Yo when you gonna stop wasting them beats?,’” he stated. Jay-Z was responsible for getting The Alchemist and Beanie Sigel in the studio together, and he even got a chance to hear the producer’s breakout beat, “We Gonna Make It.” The Alchemist claimed that Jay actually passed on the beat before it went to Jadakiss. Hopefully the producer gets his collab sooner than later.

LL Cool J & Eminem Newest Leak Victims As Potential Album Cut Loses Hype Amongst Fans

LL Cool J and Eminem are both making major comebacks to hip-hop very soon, as both have impending albums on the way. For the former MC hailing from New York, his return has been 11 years in the making. THE FORCE, which is slated for a fall release according to HipHopNMore, is already shaping up to be a massive moment for the genre and longtime fans of the hitmaker. LL put out the lead single this past Friday (June 14), “Saturday Night Special”, which features Rick Ross and Fat Joe. Then, there is Eminem. The Detroit icon started his album rollout for The Death of Slim Shady already by releasing the controversial track “Houdini”.

With two mainstays looking to reaffirm their positions in hip-hop lore already being big news, there could not be anything that could top that right? Well, think again, as rumors are swirling around X circles that LL Cool J and Eminem have a collaboration potentially in the works for the first time ever. The track is called “Murdergram” and there is a strong belief that it could land on THE FORCE. However, there is some good news and some bad news.

Listen To “Murdergram” Leak By LL Cool J & Eminem At Your Own Risk

Let us start with the negative’s first. The song is already losing hype amongst the fans, as the song was leaked to X in full yesterday, potentially ruining the chance that it officially drops. Furthermore, the people that did check out the leak felt that Emimen put in a forgettable performance. Now for the positives. Social media users who decided to not play the unreleased version can feel even better about it, as at the time of writing, the leak was hit with a copyright strike. This could mean that Cool J or Eminem’s team came across and did not want to spoil the anticipation any further. Overall, it is an odd situation, but the leak community is still a huge problem, especially this year.

What are your thoughts on this LL Cool J and Eminem leak “Murdergram”? Do you have an issue with the leak culture, why or why not? Are you going to listen to it or wait until Cool J’s album drops later this year? If you did listen to it, who do you think performed better on the track? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding LL Cool J and Eminem. Eminem’s “When I’m Gone” Enters YouTube’s Billion Views Club

Eminem's "When I'm Gone" Enters YouTube's Billion Views Club

Eminem’s “When I’m Gone” is the latest video to reach the one billion views club on YouTube. The 2005 single led to the release of Curtain Call: The Hits.

“When I’m Gone” peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is now the seventh video to hit the illustrious mark for Slim Shary. The most recent was 2004’s “Mockingbird,” joining “Love the Way You Lie,” “Without Me,” “Not Afraid,” “Rap God,” and Akon’s “Smack That.”

Eminem’s new single, “Houdini,” may be controversial, but it sure got a ton of spins. “Houdini” will debut at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Slim Shady’s highest-charting single in ten years.

According to Billboard, the single could not overcome Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help” featuring Morgan Wallen, which extends its streak at the top slot to No. 1.

Eminem debuts at No. 2 on the Hot 100 with “Houdini,” marking the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame rapper’s 23rd career top 10 hit and his highest-charting song since “The Monster,” featuring Rihanna, which held the No. 1 spot for four weeks between December 2013 and January 2014. Before this latest entry, Eminem last entered the top 10 with “Godzilla” (featuring Juice WRLD), which debuted and peaked at No. 3 in February 2020.

Eminem’s “Houdini” debuts at No. 2 on the Hot 100, amassing 48.8 million streams, 4 million in radio reach, and 49,000 sales from its release on May 31 through June 6.

Eminem’s “Houdini” Music Video Gets Approval From Adam West’s Family

Eminem is silly again. The rapper is gearing up for the release of his new album, The Death of Slim Shady, and his new single “Houdini,” lays the groundwork. “Houdini” is a throwback to the old Shady style in every sense of the word. It not only recaptures the sound of the early 2000s (tries to, at least), but it recreates elements of Eminem’s iconic “Without Me” video. In particular, the part where Eminem and Dr. Dre dress up like Batman and Robin.

Em and Dre don’t go for the modern, gritty Batman look, either. Their silly costumes and wall climbing activities are pulled directly from the 1960s TV show starring Adam West. The beloved comedy actor died in 2017, but his daughter, Nina Tooley, had nothing but positive things to say about the tribute. “My dad would have loved the video,” she told TMZ. “I could hear my dad’s distinct chuckle when the rapper was trying to scale a building with the ‘Bat Rope’ just like he and [Burt Ward] did in the series.” This type of response is no surprise to longtime West fans.

Adam West’s Daughter Praised Eminem’s Humor

Adam West was known for having a sense of humor about himself and the Batman TV show. He loved that fans would parody and pay tribute to the show over the decades. He even did so himself when he voiced the Caped Crusader in the 2017 animated film Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders. Eminem has been similarly vocal in his love for superheroes. He got a chance to record the theme song for the blockbuster film Venom. He also praised the likes of Spider-Man and Batman during an interview with Genius.

“I’ve always been into comic books,” the rapper stated. “Spiderman, Hulk, old Batmans, Supermans — mostly vintage Marvel sh*t from before I was born. Just being able to have those pieces of history is crazy.” Eminem then went on to flex his comic book knowledge against other rappers who claim to be experts. “I would not want to face off with somebody comparing comic book knowledge,” he asserted. “But I know a pretty good amount.”

Hits By 50 Cent, Eminem, Lil Wayne, And More Were Remixed In 1950s Style By AI, And Fans Love It

Eminem

50 Cent’s breakout hit “In Da Club” isn’t the only song to get the AI remix treatment today. Remakes of faves from Eminem, Tupac, UGK, and more were remade in the style of 1950s doo-wop and rock hits, and are going viral on social media as fans are delighted by the juxtaposition of modern lyrics and songwriting philosophies with sounds that evoke a more wholesome time — at least, in comparison.

After all, rock and roll stars like Chuck Berry and Little Richard were plenty controversial in their day, much the same way Eminem drew fire for his deliberately provocative lyrics. Singers like Sam Cooke tackled divisive sociopolitical topics the same way Tupac did, and it’s important to remember that even Elvis — the original Eminem — were largely considered sex symbols whose work was too racy for the relatively conservative climate of the midcentury, even if they’re considered pretty tame by today’s standards. Check out some of the remakes below.

AI in music has been considered a bit of a hot topic recently, with AI-generated songs drawing both derision and acclaim as the works become more popular. However, there are still plenty of fans and music industry professionals who see a need for legislation to control how and when AI can be used, before it’s too late.

Eminem’s ‘Houdini’ Video Would’ve Been Beloved By Adam West, According To The OG Batman’s Family

Eminem’s latest single “Houdini” might’ve pissed off a few people, including Megan Thee Stallion, Paul Rosenberg, and even his own children. But the comedic, action-packed video just earned praise from a very interesting party.

Today (June 9), Adam West’s family came out to show their support for the rapper’s official visual. In a statement provided to TMZ, Nina Tooley (the late actor’s daughter) gushed about how her dad would’ve loved the silly tribute to his famed Batman role.

“My dad would have loved the video,” she said. “I could hear my dad’s distinct chuckle when the rapper was trying to scale a building with the ‘Bat Rope’ just like he and [Burt Ward] did in the series.”

In the video, Eminem drew inspiration from one of the duo’s many ‘Bat Rope’ scenes. But instead of suiting as the mysterious vigilante, the rapper reprised his role as faithful sidekick Robin. This isn’t the first Eminem interjected his interest in comic into his work. In fact, Eminem first sported spandex back in 2002, for the official video for the chart-topping single “Without Me” with his longtime mentor and friend Dr. Dre by his side of Batman.

Dr. Dre made his superhero return in “Houdini.” The video also featured notable appearances by Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, The Alchemist, Pete Davidson, and Shane Gillis. With his forthcoming album, The Death Of Slim Shady, set to be his final LP, Eminem clearly wanted to go out with a cartoonish boom, snap, and pow.

All Of The Celebrity Cameos In Eminem’s “Houdini” Music Video

In April 2024, Eminem announced he would release his 12th studio album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), in the summer. The announcement sparked excitement among the rapper’s fan base and marked his return four years after his last album, Music to be Murdered By. Eminem released his upcoming album’s lead single, “Houdini,” on May 31. “Houdini” showed Eminem remains the “Rap God” as he stayed true to his style. He stirred controversy with some of his lyrics, including his bars about Tory Lanez’s shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. Eminem also showed his creative genius as the song revived Steve Miller’s classic 1982 tune, “Abracadabra.”

“Houdini” took the internet by storm thanks to its catchy hook and lyrics, which brought back memories of Eminem’s Slim Shady era. The “My Name Is” and “Without Me” references are hard to miss. Eminem released the “Houdini” single alongside a music video and featured several celebrities, including Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, and Eminem’s children. Let’s explore all the celebrity cameos in Em’s latest music video.

The “Houdini” Music Video Plot

Eminem’s alter ego, the Real Slim Shady, is back. The “Houdini” music video shows how the blonde Slim Shady entered a portal in 2002 and found himself in today’s present world. Dr. Dre alerts Eminem about Shady’s presence, and they team up to take him down in true superhero style. However, before they get to Slim, he wreaks havoc across the city in his bid to cancel the present-day Eminem. Eventually, Em, dressed in the Rap Boy costume, meets Shady and engages in a battle. However, there is no victor as both merge to become a hybrid individual.

Eminem “Houdini” Video Celebrity Cameos: Paul Rosenburg

The “Houdini” video begins with Eminem’s longtime friend and manager, Paul Rosenburg, calling to tell him he heard the album and wishing him luck. Paul playfully states, “Hey Em, it’s Paul. I was listening to the album. Good f**king luck, you are on your own.”

Dr. Dre

Dr. Dre acts as one of the main characters in the “Houdini” video. He is the first to call Em to let him know Slim Shady has entered 2024 via a mysterious portal. He drives Eminem around the city to find the rampaging Slim Shady. At first, Dr. Dre and Eminem have a little fight in the car but get along just fine.

50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Westside Boogie, & Denaun Porter

As Eminem’s “Houdini” video progressed to the chorus, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Westside Boogie, and Denaun Porter made cameos. The four rappers lined up in a book panel reacted to the news that Slim Shady was back in the city by singing “Guess Who’s Back.” The chorus offered a fresh version of “Without Me’s” evergreen hook, which Em paid homage to in “Houdini.”

The Alchemist

While Dr. Dre and Eminem continue searching for the latter’s younger self, Slim Shady walks into an underground cipher. There, he meets producer and DJ Alan Daniel Maman, popularly known as The Alchemist. However, Slim Shady looks perplexed and disappointed with what he sees in the cipher but eventually steps into a circle.

Royce Da 5’9 & Shane Gillis

Slim Shady’s quest for destruction sees him burst through a podcast room where he meets Shane Gillis and Royce da 5’9. Gillis and Royce are engaging in a discussion about who the best MC of all time is. Slim Shady becomes upset with the conversation and disrupts proceedings. He steals a microphone before flipping a table and exiting, leaving Royce and Shane terrified.

Jimmy Iovine

After Eminem and Slim Shady engaged in a battle and fused, they became an unholy hybrid. The monster they create comprises the best and worst versions of Slim Shady and Marshall Mathers. The effect is that Eminem begins to diss his closest friends and family members. Eminem’s longtime friend and Interscope Geffen’s CEO, Jimmy Iovine, is one of the first casualties of the monster. Iovine appears in the “Houdini” video, looking confused and shocked as he listens to Marshall insulting him.

Eminem’s Three Kids Make Appearance In “Houdini” Video

Eminem’s three kids, Hailie, Alaina, and Stevie, were not spared from the onslaught. In the “Houdini” video, the trio was on a video call with their dad, who dissed them by rapping, “F**k my own kids, they are brats/They can screw off.” The rapper’s children reacted to his diss by opening their mouths in shock.

Pete Davidson

Pete Davidson is the last celebrity to appear in Eminem’s “Houdini” video. Dr. Dre, who had been driving Eminem through the city, gets uncomfortable after the hybrid Marshall insults him and others. Hence, he exits the vehicle, after which Pete shows up. The comedian sports a similar look to the hybrid Eminem. He has the same blonde haircut and wears an all-black ensemble. Pete gets into the yellow Lamborgini and sits in the driver’s seat. He tells Eminem, “Trust me, I’m a great driver. Don’t worry, I just got my license back.” However, that isn’t the case, as the video ends with Em and Pete crashing through other vehicles as they make their way through the city.

Will Eminem’s ‘Houdini’ Go No. 1 On The Singles Chart?

Last week, Eminem released “Houdini,” the first single from his upcoming album The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup de grâce). The track, which revives the trollish persona for comedic effect, wasn’t as well-received by some rap fans online due to its treatment of some of its subjects, but that isn’t stopping the hardcore Eminem faithful from giving it strong streaming numbers. Are those numbers enough to pull it to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for the sixth No. 1 hit of his career?

According to Forbes (for some reason), many of the predictors of such things point to at least a top 5 showing for the self-declared Rap God, with social media accounts like Talk Of The Charts billing it for as high as a No. 2 debut. However, even the might of Eminem’s army of loyalists is meager when compared to the onslaught of support from country fans and the pop appeal of Post Malone. His country-leaning new single “I Had Some Help” with resurgent crooner Morgan Wallen is trending toward yet another appearance at No. 1.

It’s kind of ironic, when you consider the accusations of cultural appropriation that have been leveled at both artists, that it’s Post Malone, who upsets Eminem — and with a non-hip-hop song, no less.

You can check out the video for Eminem’s “Houdini” above.
