Kendrick Lamar Dug Up An eBay Listing For New Song’s Cover Art

Whenever Kendrick Lamar drops something, you can bet on a whole lot of content in the aftermath that breaks down all the details we didn’t catch on first listen, whether they’re reaches or not. However, sometimes this process can be as simple as tracing back the origins of a certain image. Moreover, Internet sleuths found out that the cover art for his new untitled song, commonly referred to as “Watch The Party Die” online, actually comes from a $70 eBay listing for a pair of black used ’82 Nike Air Force 1s. In fact, the listing sold that very same night that the song came out (Wednesday, September 11).

Furthermore, folks are obviously dissecting a lot of other aspects about this new Kendrick Lamar song and reacting to it appropriately. As you can imagine, the OVO team – including Mr. “Weird Case” Baka Not Nice – isn’t very happy about this song coming out, or thinks it’s not worth anyone’s time. But for pgLang-heads and hip-hop fans at large on any side of the fence, it’s very exciting to see this rollout kick into full-ish gear. Let’s see what that lead single sounds like…

Elsewhere, a lot of fans are also breaking down what Kendrick Lamar had to say to Drake on this new track. However, it’s not much. On this new record, there are many reflections on the battle and what happened between these MCs, but nothing in the way of new criticisms, attacks, or specific or subliminal shots. Instead, the criticisms on “Watch The Party Die” are more general towards the industry and state of the culture as a whole, much like K.Dot’s “The Heart” series. As such, calling this “the start of Round 2” after both sides seemed to sidestep it is a mischaracterization on many fans’ behalf.

Still, it doesn’t mean that this new Kendrick Lamar song didn’t light another fire under the game for a minute. DJ Akademiks was one of many who went absolutely wild online with their reactions and assessments. Sometimes, these folks are very critical of these moves, whereas others couldn’t be more praiseful. In any case, we’re all excited to see what happens next, and we’re sure that this eBay buyer and seller still can’t believe that they’re a party of hip-hop history now.

It Appears Kendrick Lamar Got The Artwork For His New Song From A Random eBay Listing

If you thought Kendrick Lamar was done releasing music for the year, think again. Lamar released a new track, his first since “Not Like Us” settled his feud with Drake for good, on Wednesday night.

The song doesn’t have an official title (fans have taken to calling it “Watch The Party Die”), but Lamar uploaded the track to Instagram with artwork showing a pair of dirty Nike Air Force Ones. It didn’t take long for internet sleuths to track down where the image seemingly came from: an eBay listing for “Vintage Nike Air Force 1 ‘82’ Low ‘Black Black 315122-001 Men’s Size 12.”

The Nike Air Force Ones, the “universal symbol of true goon-like activity,” cost $70 (plus $9 in shipping) and were located in North Little Rock, Arkansas from seller Good2BYou. The past tense is intentional, because they sold to someone in area code 94118 (San Francisco) on Wednesday, September 11, the day the song dropped. It’s unknown who the buyer is, but they made a wise investment. Meanwhile, “Good2BYou” must be kicking themselves over how much they could have sold the shoes for now.

But why shoes? One theory is that it’s Lamar retaliation for Drake mocking shoe size on “Push Ups.” You can see the listing for yourself here.

Destroy Lonely Pendant Can Now Be Yours Thanks To New $50K eBay Listing

Destroy Lonely has a lot of jewelry, so we’re sure that when he reportedly lost his upside-down diamond cross pendant during his Rolling Loud Europe performance, he didn’t flinch too much. But one man’s trash might become another man’s treasure, as someone found his pendant and put it up for sale on eBay for $50K. However, it seems like this listing for the “Luv 4 Ya” rapper’s ice disappeared as of writing this article, so maybe somebody bought it, the seller took it down, or they got called out on cap enough. Regardless, it’s wild to see these alleged possessions come up online, and in this case, especially so soon after the Vienna show went down.

But Destroy Lonely has much more important matters to attend, such as domestic abuse allegations against him that recently surfaced online. “Everybody who know me in real life knows this aint facts or me im not proving myself to the internet or no woman,” he wrote in a since-deleted Twitter rant denying these claims and accusing his former partner of subjecting him to violence. These remain just allegations at press time, and little else emerged about the supposed situation since it initially blew up. We’ll see if the rest of 2024 holds any more developments in this regard.

“Cry baby a** n***a,” Destroy Lonely’s ex-girlfriend said of him as she revealed her claims. “Mad over Lucki you verbally abused me for an entire 21 hr flight to Germany and when I finally snapped and hit you choked me and and then called my mom to play victim. Cracked my head open in Germany after pushing me into a bed frame and then threw all my s**t in the hallway ….. all because i was tired and didn’t want to get up at that exact second to roll a blunt.

“On [Playboi Carti’s] birthday last I wore a white dress for HIM,” Destroy Lonely’s accuser continued about his Opium label mate. “He loved it. Then the second we get around carti he go tell me I embarrass him Im wore that dress so carti could see my p***y then called me a wh*re about it for months. N***a you are embarrassing tf.”

Playboi Carti Fans Sell Grass Featured In “2024” Music Video

Fans of Playboi Carti are selling grass that is visible in the music video for “2024” on eBay. User K1ertt kicked off the bidding on Sunday. While the price began at $27, the highest bid is all the way up to $10,200. As of Tuesday afternoon, 19 fans have put forth bids on the grass. The bidding will officially close on December 27.

A description for the grass on eBay reads: “Are you tired of your boring old lawn? Upgrade to the VIP level with the one and only grass from a Playboi Carti music shot right here in Atlanta! Located at the Brookhaven Valero. This isn’t your average turf – it’s been blessed by Carti’s vibes, making it the most hype grass on the market. Imagine the street cred your front yard will gain!”

Hit-Boy Selling A Share Of “UTOPIA” Song Publishing On Ebay

The business of the music industry can be very complicated and when it comes to artists getting their cut there can often be tension. Between labels, songwriters, producers, and the artists themselves it can often be very complicated finding out what money someone has made or is owed. That’s why it surprised fans when Hit-Boy listed his 5% share in the publishing rights to Travis Scott and Beyonce’s “DELRESTO” on eBay earlier this week.

The listing offers “5% Publishing Share of “DELRESTO” ft. Beyonce Off Of Travis Scott’s UTOPIA.” It elaborates further in the description of the listing. “Hit-Boy is offering to sell his 5% publishing split on Travis Scott’s song ft. Beyonce “DELRESTO (ECHOES)” on his latest album UTOPIA. included in the purchase is his AKAI 61 key MIDI keyboard that he created the song on.” Fans discussing the post online are divided. “This is actually insanely worth it” reads the top comment on a repost of the listing. Others are less convinced. “Either this is a scam or homie need some money asap or he ain’t getting much out of those 5%,” another comment reads. Check out the listing below.

Despite the post listing a Travis Scott song that Hit-Boy worked on, recently he’s been much more directly tied to Nas. The pair have dropped two new albums in 2023 alone Magic 2 and Magic 3. They served as the culmination of an extremely prolific period for the pair dating back to 2020. Together they released three albums in the Magic series and three albums in the King’s Disease series.

Hit-Boy is also reportedly working pretty extensively on the new Benny The Butcher album. In fact, when the album’s announced release date arrived Hit-Boy was the one to officially confirm it was delayed indefinitely. $100K Cardi B Mic Auction Falls Through

The eBay auction to sell the microphone Cardi B threw into the crowd at a show in Vegas has hit a snag. As Cardi performed “Kodak Yellow”, an audience member threw their drink at the rapper. In response, Cardi threw her microphone at the offender before security intervened. Various stories have since emerged about the incident, including footage of Cardi asking to have water poured on her. Cardi was also briefly treated as a suspect in a battery case. The woman who the mic struck, who claims not to be the same woman as the one who threw the drink at Cardi, attempted to press charges.

After closing with a top bid of $99,900, the winning bidder failed to pay up. Per Scott Fisher, the man behind the auction, the bidder didn’t pay within an established 48-hour window and did not respond to multiple messages. Fisher had planned to donate the proceeds to charity and will contact the second-highest bidder instead. If that also falls through, Fisher has said that he will pursue a private auction instead. Elsewhere, a case company in Ohio donated a custom case to hold the mic once it is sold.

More Money News For Cardi B

Of course, a $100,000 mic is not the only money news that Cardi has been involved in as of late. The saga of Tasha K’s $4 million debt to the rapper remains more prevalent than ever. Last week, the notorious blogger told the courts that she did not possess the ability to pay the massive penalty. This is especially after filing for bankruptcy in June. However, Cardi has asked the courts not to erase Tasha’s’ outstanding debt.

Despite Tasha apologizing, saying “Talk about a check my mouth can’t cash,” Cardi and her legal team are insistent the debt be paid. “[The] defendant was given multiple opportunities to retract the false and defamatory statements and videos, but [the] Defendant steadfastly refused to do so,” Cardi’s legal motion read in part. A judge is yet to rule on the motion.

Microphone Thrown in Crowd by Cardi B Appears In eBay Auction

After Cardi B famously threw the mic into the crowd at fan during a show in Las Vegas last week, an ingenious concertgoer is now selling the popular microphone on eBay for charity.

Owner of audio company The Wave,Scott Fisher, decided to auction off the mic to raise money for Friendship Circle Las Vegas and the Wounded Warrior Project.

“We have been a vendor for Drai’s since the day they opened at the Cromwell Hotel,” Fisher wrote in the auction. “We provided more than one microphone for this particular show and verified with the in-house crew which one was specifically used by Cardi for the show. It was pretty easy to identify though as her mic was marked ‘main.’ This is the mic that has been seen all over the country flying into the crowd after Cardi was splashed with some liquid. I will also include a letter stating this is the actual microphone shown in all the videos being shown nationwide.”

The bid for the mic has gone as high as $50K.

As TMZ reports, Eric’s Architectural Salvage LA is selling a bunch of items supposedly from a home that Jay and Bey used to rent in 2015, a mansion in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles. After the couple left the home, the owners did a complete renovation and Eric’s Architectural Salvage LA ended up with some of the items from the building. That includes a fancy-pants bidet from the house, which is up on eBay right now.

The listing is titled “Bidet With Sherle Wagner Hardware Beyoncé Jay Z Estate” and is currently priced at $2,400. The description reads in part, “This is one of the prettiest bidets it features amazing Sherle Wagner hardware . SW was known for making beautiful Glamorous over the top hardware that was often gold plated. I’m not sure if this hardware is gold plated for we are unable to test it but it is highly possible that it is . This hardware is featured in the SW catalog it was salvaged out of the Holmby Hills area out of the $55 million home it was formerly occupied by Jay Z and Beyoncé this home was lavished with nothing but the best.”

Although The Carters keep a relatively low profile, some personal items they once used have now hit the auction block. According to TMZ, a number of items, including a bidet and exterior lights, that Jay-Z and Beyonce once used in a home they rented are on eBay. Eric of Eric’s Architectural Salvage LA got his hands on several household items in a home the couple once rented and hopes to offload a few of these pieces for some big bucks.

In addition to the bidet, which is up for $2,400, and the exterior lights, Eric also has a few other items from the Carters on his eBay page. These include sconces, an arched metal door frame, and gorgeous French doors. The home in question is located in Holmby Hills, a wealthy neighborhood on the Westside of Los Angeles where celebrities like Diddy, Walt Disney, and more once lived. Jay-Z and Beyonce moved into the property in 2015, signing a one-year lease. However, once they moved out, the owners decided to sell the residence.

According to Eric, the new owners of the home wanted to give the place a complete facelift. After Jay-Z and Beyonce moved out of the home, they began a complete home renovation. Ultimately, the items, such as the bidet and French doors, landed in Eric’s possession in 2017. His company, Eric Architectural Salvage LA, frequently procures items from demolition companies and developers who would otherwise throw these pieces out. Evidently, Eric’s putting these items to good use in hopes of a massive payday.

Besides their previously owned items hitting eBay, Jay-Z and Beyonce have been holding it down in Europe on the Renaissance World tour. While Beyonce has been delivering stand out performances night after night, Hov has been spotted in the crowd practically every single night showing his support for his wife and their daughter, Blue Ivy, who has been hitting the stage, as well.
