Drake Paid “Money In The Grave” Producer $20K

Drake’s hit song “Money in the Grave” has not only been a chart-topper but also a costly endeavor. At least, it was when it came to how much he paid the producer of the song. Lil CC, the producer behind the beat, revealed during an interview with Shirley’s Temple that Drake paid her a whopping $20,000 for her work on the track. This generous investment from the rapper not only affirmed Lil CC’s talent but also launched her career to new heights.

Lil CC expressed her gratitude for Drake’s support. She says that the rapper’s belief in her and his support pushed her to work even harder. Additionally, she mentioned being particularly thrilled about the Rick Ross feature on the song. She says that she is a big fan of his music, as well. This collaboration with Drake and Rick Ross opened doors for her to work with with other notable artists, including Lil Wayne. You can check out the interview with Lil CC below.

“Money In The Grave” Was A Hit

“Money in the Grave” was initially released in 2019. It was part of a two-pack of songs that Drake dropped to celebrate the Toronto Raptors winning the NBA Championship. “Money in the Grave” was the second track, following “Omertá.” The song carries a more aggressive tone and includes lyrics about Drake’s success. He references leaving competitors in the dust and even contemplates getting a tattoo that reads “realest n*gga” on his face.

In August 2019, Drake and Rick Ross released the official music video for the track. The visuals showcase Drake dancing in an oil field turned dig site. It includes cameo appearances by Rick Ross. There is also footage of Drake celebrating with the Toronto Raptors’ NBA Finals championship trophy during a live concert. Drake promoted the music video with a casual Instagram post, directing his followers to check it out. The video’s release further solidified the success and popularity of “Money in the Grave.” It appears it was not only a hit for the rapper but also a launching point for Lil CC’s career. Stay tuned to HNHH for the latest updates on all things hip-hop.

Drake Paid Lil CC $20K For The “Money In The Grave” Beat

DSCF1153

Drake might be one of the biggest artists in the world, and his bank account carries that same energy. Beyond the music, the 6 God has been coming up on dough through sports betting, recently winning almost a million dollars on Stake when the Denver Nuggets took home the NBA title.

Recently, Lil CC hopped on Shirley Ju’s show Shirley’s Temple to reveal the actual dollar amount she received for Drake’s “Money In The Grave” featuring Rick Ross. The song took on a life of its own, with even Drizzy using it as the official anthem for his home team Toronto Raptors winning the NBA Championships back in 2019.

When asked what Lil CC’s first placement was, the Los Angeles native responds, “My first beat was ‘Money In The Grave,’ so it was $20K. It was crazy. Man, I fuck with this. Wow, knowing that somebody believed in me that much and supported what I did, it made me want to go even harder.”

The song features Drake’s vocals as he spits, “Lil CC let it slap with the bass!” While she hasn’t taken this on as her tagline, she reveals her excitement upon hearing it.

Lil CC explains, “I heard it before everybody else heard it. It was sent in a video, I went crazy. I was in a changing room, I was modeling for Missguided in England. I was listening to it while I was changing into my next outfit. I’m like what the fuck? They’re like ‘are you okay?’ Yeah, I’m okay. I’m real okay. I was so happy to shoot the rest of that day. I was smiling in every picture. I couldn’t stop smiling.”

She also goes on to reveal that none of her friends in the States were awake for that moment, but there was someone there who barely spoke English — yet could bask in the excitement of what had just transpired.

“I’m barely trying to talk to this girl in another language, and she could understand me a little bit,” Lil CC states. “Luckily, she knew who Drake was. [laughs] I played the song, she’s like ‘he’s talking about you!’ She was losing her mind, talking in a different language. That was funny. That was the first day I found out, I told her.”

As far as placements, Lil CC reveals she has collaborations with Rae Sremmurd and Kid Cudi in the works. Watch the full interview here.

Robert DeNiro Will Present French Montana’s Documentary at Tribeca Festival

FMontana Press v2 (BLACK SHIRT)

French Montana’s documentary is set for the annual Tribeca Film Festival. This is a special moment for the Bronx artist and a legendary actor is going to make it a memorable achievement. Robert DeNiro is set to present the film, “For Khakija”, at this week’s Tribeca Film Festival in New York.

”For Khakija” is executive produced by Diddy and Drake while Mandon Lovett is the director. The documentary will track the French and his family’s journey from Morrocco to the United States as well as his own path to Hip Hop. Recently, the “Shot Caller” rapper was on Sirius XM discussing legends in rap such as The Notorious B.I.G., Big Pun, and 2Pac. French Montana admits The All Eyez on Me rapper was a big influence on him before he migrated to America.

”I was listening to that when I didn’t even know English. I was listening to it in Africa. It was the first album I ever bought. I felt his pain, his passion, I felt his comeback, and I didn’t even understand English. I felt it was that powerful, and it was that spiritual, and it was bigger than music. That’s when I felt that, you know, music is the only language that everybody speaks in the world.”

More details of his relationship with Hip Hop will be revealed in the documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival. DeNiro started the prestigious film festival in 2001 to revive the spirit around the film industry after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The New York Tribeca Film Festival runs from June 7th-June 18th in Manhattan. The Goodfellas actor will present ”For Khakija” on June 16th. What a time for French Montana.

Drake Comes Up On $830K As Denver Nuggets Take Home NBA Title

Drake Dreamville

It looks like the Drake curse is officially over. Last night, the Denver Nuggets took home the trophy for the NBA title for the first time in franchise history, beating out the Miami Heat 94 to 89. And thankfully, Drake had his money on the Nuggets!

Just two weeks prior, Drake posted a screenshot of himself placing a bet on the Denver Nuggets via the sports betting platform called Stake. The terms were the Toronto native would pay $600K if the Nuggets won the NBA Finals in exactly five games and $230K if the Nuggets won, no matter how many games it took. The total? $830K.

Before the game tipped off, Drake posted a video to his Instagram story of the stakes once again, reminding fans that he was about to come up on some dough. Historically, Drake has had a reputation for losing on teams he bets on, with some even calling it the “Drake curse.” Prime examples include the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team, the Alabama Crimson Tide football team, and Conor McGregor.

While the Nuggets may have had a poor shooting performance this season, they could still come out on top inside Ball Arena in their hometown of Denver. Nikola Jokic was appointed the MVP, leading his team with 27 points, 16 rebounds, and four assists.

Once the final score was displayed, Drizzy posted to his Instagram story again with the caption ”CASH ME.”

Not to say Drake needs the money, but at least he has something to celebrate!

Drake’s NBA Finals Bets Netted The Rapper So Much Money As The Denver Nuggets Sidestepped The ‘Drake Curse’

A co-sign from Drake raises the profile of any rising musician. On the other hand, sports fans tremble when the “Search & Rescue” rapper pours his support behind their favorite teams. However, Drake’s NBA Finals bet win netted the rapper nearly a million dollars as the Denver Nuggets sidestepped the “Drake Curse.”

Yesterday, the team pulled out the Game 5 victory over the Miami Heat with the final score of 94 to 89. The musician took to Instagram to share his bets on the game. He shared two that he placed, both on June 1.

The first bet was that the series would be wrapped up in five games, with the Nuggets winning four games to Miami’s one. That bet cost $250K and would net a total return of $850K. Secondly, he bet $1 million on the Nuggets to win outright. The payout for this bet brought in $1.23 million. So, overall, Drake walked away $830K richer.

The championship is the first ever for the Nuggets, which started as an ABA team back in 1967. So, the win was a huge moment for Denver, but it seemed like star center Nikola Jokic was pretty quickly ready to move on: When he was informed that the team’s championship parade was still a few days away, he seemed genuinely bummed, saying, “No, I have to go home.”

Drake is ready to hit the road. The Boy shared a special message to his home city of Toronto before he begins his It’s All A Blur Tour with 21 Savage. The two will touch 54 cities for their run.

“Goodbye my beautiful city,” Drake wrote in his Instagram Story. “I haven’t left for this reason in over 6 years but I hope I can make you proud once again. I love you all. Have an amazing summer and pls try to take care of each other. See you in October.”

Last month, Drake revealed the addition of three extra dates to his 2023 “It’s All A Blur” Tour with 21 Savage, sponsored by Cash App, Visa, and Sprite, in response to persistent fan demand. This album peaked at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, and all 16 of its tracks made their debut on the Billboard Hot 100 list.

DJ Drama’s Chain Allegedly Snatched During Toronto Club Booking

DJ Drama Wants the Verzuz Smoke: ‘I Have Said Khaled’s Name'

DJ Drama’s chain was reportedly snatched during a booking in Toronto. The Gangsta Grillz creator was on hand at Century nightclub on King Street in Toronto, where the alleged snatching occurred. A man claiming to be present at the scene stated a man jumped Drama and “is still GUSHING blood like 20 mins later.” It was not clear if the bleeding man was Drama or the perpetrator.

Later in the evening, men were spotted with the Generation Now chain, claiming to be members of GGG gang, and shoutout out Drake. You can see the video below.

Drake Fuels Lilah Pi Dating Rumors With Birthday Message: ‘My Inspo, My Confidant, My Best Mate, My Heart’

Drake Dreamville

Did someone take Drake out of the game? Hitting Instagram over the weekend, The Boy pinned a special message to Lilah Pi.

“More life to the gyal that’s impossible to duplicate,” Drake wrote. “My inspo, my confidant, my best mate, my heart @lilahpi happy birthday.”

With heart emojis, Lilah responded, “4L.”

Complex notes Lilah was also the subject of a few bars on Drake’s latest feature, “Who Told You.”

“So Lilah Pi, don’t make my eye cry
Let me hold your controller, I’m not one of the controllin’ guys
I want you to touch road with the girls dem, and socialize
Enjoy your life, your backside is so fit, it opens eyes
I know the vibes, I know the vibes”

– Drake “Who Told You”

Lilah was also featured on the cover of “Search & Rescue.” You can hear the new single and see the birthday message below.

DJ Drama Robbed In Toronto By Drake Fans: Report

It’s been a tough few weeks for DJ Drama. He was not only called “a goofy over these h*es” by Meek Mill, but also was the victim of an alleged robbery in Toronto. As AllHipHop reports, the Generation Now co-founder was visiting the 6ix when he failed to “check,” ultimately resulting in his chain seemingly being snatched. It seems that moment wasn’t caught on camera. Nevertheless, the thieves have since posted up on social media. In a viral video, they’re seen showing off the loot they claim to have taken from around Drama’s neck this weekend.

Adding insult to injury, the men praise Drake (who has past beef with the Philly native) in the obnoxious video. “That’s what you f*cking get for not checking in,” they indirectly tell Drama. “Shout out boy Drizzy, eh. Triple Gs, you know how we rock.” Neither the Canadian nor his former enemy have addressed the situation on Twitter. Still, users are certainly having a field day laughing at the situation.

DJ Drama’s Chain Allegedly Snatched in the 6ix

It’s worth noting that Drake and the Gangsta Grillz creative previously put an end to their feud. Hip-hop heads quickly realized this when they appeared on Jack Harlow’s “Churchill Downs” together. Things first became tense between the pair in 2015, when rumours stated that Drama is the one who told Meek Mill about his “R.I.C.O” collaborator apparently using a ghostwriter to pen the fan favourite. The incident put a major rift between Drake and the “Litty” rapper, though they later settled their differences publicly.

In other news, Champagne Papi hasn’t entirely managed to escape being embarrassed online lately either. During a live stream with Stake and Kick earlier this month, not only did the father of one’s credit card decline but he was also turned into a meme thanks to his questionable yellow nail polish. See for yourself at the link below, and make sure to check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.
