Drake’s “Fair Trade” Proves That He And Travis Scott Are A Terrific Duo

There is not much more to say about Drake anymore. His career in hip-hop will go down as one the most dominant in the genre’s over 50-year history. There might be artists that come somewhat close to the records that he holds. But, ultimately, whether you like him or not, Drizzy is one of the greatest to ever do it and not many will really touch him. That has to do with him being able to cater to so many audiences with his effortless crossovers into R&B, pop, and rap. Certified Lover Boy, is another example of that.

Another massive record in his discography, CLB, as it is often referred to, might not have won a whole lot of fans and critics. However, there are plenty of bangers and hits on his sixth studio album. Whether it is his knack to create incredible LP intros with “Champagne Poetry.” Or, it could be to create a party anthem with “Way 2 Sexy” with Future and Young Thug, Drake has songs that still get tremendous replay value. One of those tracks has to be “Fair Trade” featuring Travis Scott.

I’ve been losin’ friends and findin’ peace
But honestly that sound like a fair trade to me
If I ever hurt one and I’m still here
Outside, frontline, Southside

Will Drake Be On Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday 2?’

Nicki Minaj is gearing up for her massive Pink Friday 2 album, as she recently teased her plans for the project during an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music (via Billboard.) The rapper recently previewed the album with her new song, “Last Time I Saw You.”

“I just wanted the next song that I put out to represent my growth,” she shared. “Not just as an artist, but as a human being. I’ve experienced so many things that I hadn’t experienced five years ago, and that’s just the truth.”

She also opened up to Lowe about her and Drake’s upcoming collaboration on his next album, For All The Dogs. While not much is known about it, and Minaj did stay pretty secretive, she is excited for what’s to come.

“I’ll just say I really love the song,” Minaj said. “I know my fans are going to love the song. I know the world’s going to love the song. And that’s all I will say about that.”

However, as for Drake crossing over onto Pink Friday 2, it seems it is still up in the air.

“Barbz, make sure y’all let Drizzy Drake know that Pink Friday 2 is coming out Nov. 17 as well,” she added, going on to point out that she wouldn’t mind him giving a feature on her album too. “And we are waiting on his contribution.”

For now, check out Nicki Minaj’s new song, “Last Time I Saw You,” above.

Pink Friday 2 is out 11/17 via Republic Records and Heavy On It.

Will Nicki Minaj Be On Drake’s ‘For All The Dogs?’

With anticipation for Drake’s album For All The Dogs ratcheting up every passing day, there are certainly some fans wondering which of the Toronto rapper’s A-list friends will make appearances on the tracklist. While he’s had quite the run with 21 Savage lately, he’s also had some impressive runs throughout his career with the likes of Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and Travis Scott.

But there’s one artist he’s close with we haven’t seen him collaborate with for a long time: Nicki Minaj. While the two Young Money artists rose in parallel with each other, in recent years, they’ve worked together less than they did when they were starting out. So, understandably there are plenty of fans wondering whether they’ll reunite on one of their upcoming albums (Nicki’s Pink Friday 2 is due in November).

Fortunately, they’re getting some good news on that front. During an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Nicki revealed that she’ll have a guest appearance on Drake’s upcoming album. “You know, I have a song on Drake’s album coming out soon too,” she said. “I love the song so much. I’ll just say I really love the song. I know my fans are going to love the song. I know the world’s going to love the song. And that’s all I will say about that.” As far as whether he is planning to return the favor, Nicki joked, “Barbz, make sure y’all let Drizzy Drake know that Pink Friday 2 is coming out November 17th as well. And we are waiting on his contribution.”

Drake’s Rumored ‘For All The Dogs’ Track Has A Line About Young Thug Incarceration That Disappointed Fans

We know very little about Drake‘s upcoming album, For All The Dogs. While we have a title and an adorable cover art drawn by his five-year-old son, Adonis, we don’t have any idea of a release date, or a tracklist.

While rumored release dates have come and gone, Drake continues to tease For All The Dogs, noting that he’s still putting finishing touches on the album. However, a leaked snippet has made its way onto the internet.

https://x.com/kurrco/status/1697234180881420643?s=46&t=0B7rjHID1V3nNPkYMB-koA

Though the snippet has since been removed, fans quickly caught onto a line, on which Drake raps, “I should probably be in there with Thug and them.”

This likely alludes to Young Thug, who has been jailed for the past year, amid trials for RICO charges, along with several other members of the Young Stoner Life imprint. Many fans took to Twitter to express disappointment in the line, implying that Drake is attempting to put on a more tough image.

“Drake u are canadian,” said one Twitter user. “U are not about that hood life. Never was never will be.”

“Drake would lose his mind in there,” said another Twitter user, “idk what tf is wrong with him”

Drake has not commented on the matter, nor is it confirmed if this particular song will be on For All The Dogs.

Young Thug is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Drake Set Up A Scavenger Hunt On His Website, Apparently For Fans To Win Free ‘It’s All A Blur Tour’ Tickets

There are several reasons why Drake’s It’s All A Blur Tour with 21 Savage has been one of this summer’s hottest tickets. Bras are flying everywhere. Drake is teasing his For All The Dogs album. LeBron James, J. Cole, SZA have made appearances. Drake added to the intrigue on Tuesday, August 29, when his website temporarily morphed into a scavenger hunt, as captured by @OnThinIce on X (formerly known as Twitter).

As per HotNewHipHop, fans online reported that participating in the since-expired scavenger hunt resulted in “the opportunity to enter a drawing for tickets to Drake and 21 Savage’s It’s All A Blur Tour.”

On Monday, August 28, the It’s All A Blur Tour show scheduled for Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC was postponed to Wednesday, August 30, “due to unforeseen circumstances with the newly-installed videoboard at Rogers Arena,” as confirmed by the venue in a statement posted to Instagram.

Drake’s first It’s All A Blur Tour stop at Rogers Arena took place on Tuesday, August 29, and featured Travis Scott stepping in for 21 Savage and performing “Meltdown” and “Sicko Mode.”

After Vancouver, Drake is scheduled to stage back-to-back It’s All A Blur Tour shows at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Friday, September 1, and Saturday, September 2. Drake will return to Canada for two hometown shows at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on October 6 and 7. See all of the remaining dates here.

What Songs Did Travis Scott Perform At Drake’s ‘It’s All A Blur Tour?’

Last night (August 29), Travis Scott joined Drake to perform together at his It’s All A Blur Tour stop in Vancouver. The two rappers also treated the crowd to some very special performances.

Scott first walked out on the stage to “Hyaena,” the opening track of his new album, Utopia.

Drake and Scott then held the live debut performance of “Meltdown,” their collaboration from the same record.

Throughout Scott’s appearance, they also did one of his biggest hits with “Sicko Mode.” Drake did “P*ssy & Millions” from his joint album, Her Loss, with 21 Savage.

Finally, Scott performed other Utopia tracks like “I Know,” “Fe!n,” and an older 2016 track “Goosebumps” that originally featured Kendrick Lamar.

It has been rumored that Scott will continue to replace 21 Savage during the Canadian leg of the It’s All A Blur Tour, after one of the shows was pushed back until tonight. And his appearance last night seemed to confirm it, but only tonight’s show will tell. Either way, fans will get to see Scott perform on his own soon, as the rapper recently announced Utopia — The Circus Maximus Tour. A complete list of dates can be found here.

Check out some clips of Drake and Scott performing the songs together above.

Drake Subs in Travis Scott for 21 Savage at Vancouver Stop of ‘IAAB’ Tour

Drake Dreamville

Drake is back in Canada and treated his friends over in Vancouver to a special show. “We back on my side now 🇨🇦 Van City All Starzzzzz,” Drake wrote on Instagram. He followed with a show where he was walked out by Lil Yachty and Travis Scott subbing in for 21 Savage.

Lil Yachty was the walk-in, escorting his friend to the stage before a shake-up. Drake would later introduce Travis Scott to the stage instead of 21 Savage, who could not come to Canada. Drake stated Scott’s appearance would be the only one made by the rapper on the tour. The two would also perform “MELTDOWN” together for the first time. Catch the clips below.

Travis Scott Joined Drake Onstage For ‘It’s All A Blur Tour’ Performances Of ‘Meltdown’ And ‘Sicko Mode’

Drake’s It’s All A Blur Tour returned to Canada last night, stopping in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. As it had back in July when Drake hit his hometown Toronto, the tour proceeded without its usual supporting act, 21 Savage, who cannot leave the US due to his immigration status. In Toronto, Savage’s set was replaced with one featuring J. Cole; on Tuesday (August 29), Travis Scott stepped up to take over, performing a set including his Drake collaborations “Sicko Mode” from Astroworld and the new “Meltdown” from Utopia.

The Vancouver stop was originally billed as the second night of two; however, the first night, Monday (August 28), was postponed at the last minute, leaving some fans perplexed and disappointed. According to the Rogers Arena Twitter (not calling it X), there were issues with a new videoboard, prompting the arena to reschedule the Monday show to Wednesday, August 30.

Travis and Drake’s performance of “Meltdown” marks the first time the duo has performed the song live. The song’s debut earlier this month caused some light controversy when fans wondered whether Drake’s verse is an attempt to rekindle his smoldering rivalries with Pusha T and Kanye West. You can check out more performance videos from the show below, and catch Travis Scott live on his Circus Maximus Tour, which was officially announced last night as well.

YG Asking Fan To Flash Him At Drake Concert In New Video

Interesting things have been happening at shows on Drake and 21 Savage’s “It’s All A Blur” tour all summer. From piles of celebrities appearing throughout the tour to the various items thrown at Drake in particular while on stage. there’s been news stories following pretty much every single show. The newest one spawns from a video of YG that’s making its way around the internet right now. In the clip the rapper can pretty clearly be seen asking someone off camera to flash him. While it doesn’t seem to work at first he keeps up the requests. Whether or not it ultimately works is unclear but eventually he moves on to something else.

Fans in the comments clowned on the “West Coast Weekend” rapper quite a bit. “type sh*t,” the top comment on the post reads. Another comment conjures up a very random story about an encounter with the rapper. “Yg punched one of my friends in the face at one of his shows once cuz he was trollin,”it reads. Others took a less serious approach and used the opportunity to laugh at him. “Na this funny asss 🤣🤣🤣 what is he doing hahahah,” reads another top comment. Check out the entire clip below.

YG Tries To Get Fan To Flash Him

Videos of YG have been circulating a lot recently. Most of them come from nights out that the rapper takes with his new girlfriend Saweetie. While the pair occasionally team up with some sleek matching fits, they don’t always get love for their fashion. YG in particular has faced some hilarious criticism for fits he’s gone out in the past.

YG has also been capitalizing off one of the biggest news stories of the week, Donald Trump’s mugshot. The rapper famously referenced the disgraced politician in his song “FDT.” Now, he’s begun selling merch of Trump’s mugshot to capitalize on the event. What do you think of the clip of YG asking a fan to flash him? Let us know in the comment section below.

Drake’s Vancouver Concert Postponement Upsets Canadian Fans

Though Drake originally hails from Canada, and he takes plenty of pride in being the 6ix God, his performances in his home country don’t always go as planned. Unfortunately for those in Vancouver hoping to attend his It’s All a Blur show on Monday (August 28), they were met with news of a last-minute postponement to Wednesday evening. Many were obviously upset by the news, especially after spending their afternoon getting ready and pre-gaming, but thankfully it’s not all bad news.

While 21 Savage has been joining Champagne Papi on stages across North America this summer, rumour has it that Travis Scott will be making an appearance. The father of two’s private jet reportedly landed on the west coast yesterday, meaning that if we don’t see him perform “MELTDOWN” or “SICKO MODE,” we’ll likely at least see him raging along to Drake’s set in the audience.

Drake Promises Vancouver a Memorable Performance

Drake Vancouver Concert
@champagnepapi/Instagram Story

“Vancouver it’s T-TIME [tomorrow], don’t you worry,” the Certified Lover Boy artist promised his followers via Instagram. Of course, due to the last-minute rescheduling of the show, some of those who had tickets for Monday won’t be able to make it to Wednesday’s performance. This left them understandably upset, though some of them chose to channel their anger in a less-than-flattering fashion.

In the video below, those waiting outside the latest It’s All a Blur tour stop venue lash out at an employee delivering the sad news to them. “It’s out of our control,” the Rogers Arena staff member reminded the disgruntled group. As HipHopDX reports, the only reason disclosed for the rescheduled event is ongoing issues with the “newly installed scoreboard.”
