This announcement was made days after Khaled’s monumental performance of his Grammy-nominated single “GOD DID” alongside Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, John Legend, Rick Ross and Fridayy.

Hov admitted that he wasn’t sure if h would even perform his entire verse, telling TIDAL in an interview, “I thought about it, I was in my head and I just broke down and said, ‘You know, it’s a four-minute verse.’ Again, for the culture, for Hip Hop, we got to do that,” he said. “This ain’t your traditional song. … It’s not your traditional structure of what you think a song that would be nominated for Song of the Year would sound like. It’s not what you expect. And for the culture and for Hip Hop, we got to do that.”

In January, Roc Nation announced a partnership with DJ Khaled, Shyne and The Walt Disney Company that will oversee Khaled and Roc Nation’s production of one of four biographical projects.

According to former Bad Boy rapper Shyne, his new deal through the Disney-owned brands ESPN and Andscape will see the release of a documentary, a new biopic, a docu-series and his own autobiography.

“Very pleased, very grateful that I was able to close a deal with Walt Disney and their subsidiaries ESPN and Andscape to produce my bio-documentary, bio-motion picture and bio-TV series, as well as my memoir,” the Belizean politician said. “The documentary will be executive produced by DJ Khaled and Roc Nation. So stay tuned, we will begin production here in Belize in the Spring. And we look for a 2024 Summer release.”

Today’s press conference is scheduled for noon today.

DJ Khaled & Tyler, The Creator Squash Beef At Roc Nation’s Pre-Grammy Brunch

DJ Khaled and Tyler, The Creator posed for a flick following tension between the two in recent years. Khaled took to Instagram where he shared a handful of pictures from his appearance at Roc Nation’s pre-Grammy brunch. He linked up with Lil Baby, Ari Melber, Lil Uzi Vert, Offset, and more in the photos. However, many began discussing how he and Tyler, The Creator linked up. Though Khaled nor Tyler didn’t mention anything of it, the two posed for a quick picture together, appearing to confirm that there aren’t any issues between them.

The tension between Khaled and Tyler came around the time their albums, Father Of Asahd and IGOR, duked it out for the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 in 2019. Rumors floated that Khaled stormed into Epic Records office and threw a fit because IGOR outsold Father Of Asahd. While it was merely hearsay, many believed this was true after Khaled aired his frustrations at coming in second to IGOR

“Here’s the thing, I make albums so people can play it,” Khaled said. “And you actually hear it. You know, driving your car you hear another car playing it. Go to the barbershop, you hear them playing it. You know, turn the radio on, and you hear them playing it. It’s playing everywhere—it’s called great music. It’s called albums that you actually hear the songs. Not no mysterious shit, and you never hear it.”

Though sources close to Khaled denied that he targeted Tyler, The Creator, the Odd Future frontman continued to poke fun at the Miami DJ. He later trolled Khaled, writing, “Who tf listens to Tyler, The Creator?” in the comments of Akademiks’ post. However, he elaborated further and explained that it felt like a personal shot at his artistry.

“N***a ego had to deal with that because his whole identity is being number one and when he didn’t get that, that sat with him longer in real life time than that moment. I moved on,” he said. “His whole identity is ‘We the Best, we the Number One’. When the underdog to him took that away from him, that n***a ego was deflated. He’ll probably never admit it and it’s no hard feelings towards him.”

Unfortunately for Khaled, Tyler was not going to allow him to live that down. Tyler referenced the feud in response to his Grammy win for Best Rap Album. “And I know you’re seething and angry and [saying] ‘No one listens to that album,’ these arena tours that are selling out says different,” Tyler said.

Jay-Z Gave A Divine Performance Of ‘God Did’ With DJ Khaled At The 2023 Grammys

The week leading up to the Grammys is one of the most exciting in music, just for the sheer fun of speculating who will win and wondering what the performances will look like. But that still pales in comparison to actually watching the performances, when the nominated acts pull out all the stops. This year, in addition to a tribute to 50 years of hip-hop, the ceremony included a rare appearance by Jay-Z, who joined his collaborator DJ Khaled for a breathless performance of the song “God Did” from Khaled’s album of the same name.

Joined by Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, John Legend, and Giveon, the group performed outside the Staples Center — sorry, Crypto.com arena — at an opulently-laid dinner table.

They didn’t only perform the song; they were also nominated for Song Of The Year, Best Rap Performance, and Best Rap Song, putting Jay in a tie for most-nominated artist of all time. His only competition? Why, his wife Beyoncé, of course. They both had 88 nominations total, although Beyoncé had more nominations this year with nine — and the opportunity to become the most-awarded artist ever. She accomplished it thanks to winning won Best Dance/Electronic Recording for “Break My Soul” and Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Plastic Off The Sofa” ahead of the televised ceremony and Best Electronic/Dance Album.

Jay-Z & DJ Khaled To Perform “God Did” At Grammys: Report

As rumors about his inclusion in this year’s Super Bowl run rampant, we have an update about Jay-Z’s appearance at the Grammys. In Los Angeles, things are heating up as Grammy weekend is upon us. Our favorite artists across all genres have descended on Tinsel Town, and events are firing off across the city. With the ceremony approaching fast, The Hollywood Reporter also offered news about performances. They say Jay and DJ Khaled will be gracing the stage.

Hov and Khaled will reportedly perform their acclaimed hit, “God Did.” The track comes from Khaled’s album of the same name and also hosts features from John Legend, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and Fridayy. It was certainly a standout on the record, as Jay’s features are minimal these days. Already, fans are anticipating the epic display that only these superstars can erect.

“God Did” is nominated for three Grammys—Song of the Year, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Performance. Additionally, Jay-Z also received an Album of the Year nomination for his songwriting on Beyoncé’s No. 1 album, Renaissance. He was also included in the Song of the Year category for co-writing “Break My Soul.”

This year’s Grammys are also set to be a huge tribute to Hip Hop as 2023 marks its 50th anniversary. Questlove is reportedly co-curating a Hip Hop 50th tribute for the ceremony in partnership with Nas’s Mass Appeal. The Roots icon also revealed performers are “some of the biggest names from the genre coming together to celebrate hip-hop history — its past, its present, its future.”

Fans have already begun speculating on the names of who will take to the mic for the epic tribute. Further, it is unclear if Jay and Khaled’s performance is tied to the Hip Hop tribute. Variety reports that other Grammy performers include Harry Styles, Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Luke Combs, Steve Lacy, Lizzo and Sam Smith with Kim Petras. For the Hip Hop tribute, performers are said to also include “Big Boi, Busta Rhymes with Spliff Star, De La Soul, DJ Drama, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Missy Elliott, Future, GloRilla, Grandmaster Flash, Grandmaster Mele Mel & Scorpio/Ethiopian King, Ice-T, Lil Baby, Lil Wayne, The Lox, Method Man, Nelly, Public Enemy, Queen Latifah, Rahiem, Rakim, RUN-DMC, Salt-N-Pepa and Spinderella, Scarface, Swizz Beatz and Too $hort.” Tune in to the Grammys this Sunday, February 5.

Jay-Z Might Perform At Grammys: Report

Jay-Z could grace the stage at the Grammys this year, according to a new report.

With the Grammys just weeks away, everyone is eager to find out who will be performing at this year’s event. On Wednesday, Grammys announced the first string of performers: Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Lizzo, Sam Smith, Steve Lacy, and more. However, there are more names to emerge in the near future.

Per HitsDailyDouble, Jay-Z might end up on stage during the evening as part of DJ Khaled’s performance. The Miami DJ is currently up for six nominations at this year’s award show, which helped Jay earn three more nods. “God Did” is currently up for Song Of The Year, Best Rap Performance, and Best Rap Song.

Though the 23x Grammy-award winner could hit the stage, his wife, Beyoncé, will not. Apparently, several high-profile acts, including Bey, Adele, and Kendrick Lamar, turned down opportunities to hit the stage.

While Jay secured three nominations with DJ Khaled, he also scored a second nod in the Song Of The Year category for Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul.” He’s also nominated for his songwriting contributions to Renaissance, which is up for Album Of The Year.

Hov might be busy with a couple of rehearsals in the days leading up to the Grammys. However, he reportedly also has a hand in Rihanna’s forthcoming performance at the Super Bowl in February, alongside Roc Nation. Though it’s not at all surprising, considering Jay signed Rih to Def Jam in 2004, it’ll be interesting to see how the performance ends up. Could Jay join Rihanna on stage to perform one of their many hit collabs?

We’ll keep you posted on anymore information surrounding Jay-Z’s rumored performance.
