Beyoncé’s ‘Hair Care Laboratory’ Helped Trevor Noah Get His Hair Done For The 2024 Emmy Awards

Trevor Noah might have let one of Beyoncé’s secrets slip, it seems. During an episode of his What Now? With Trevor Noah podcast that dropped yesterday, he had a story about how he got ready for the Emmy Awards, and the musical icon played a role in helping him out.

“I couldn’t find a place to get my hair done,” Noah said. Apparently, his hairstylist was having trouble was having trouble securing a spot

“She sends me a text and she says, ‘Hey Trevor, Beyoncé said we can use her private hair studio if you need to.’ So I go, ‘Which Beyoncé?’ Because I don’t want to assume. I mean, I don’t have Beyoncé’s number. I don’t even know Beyoncé like that.”

As he continued telling the story, he apparently received an address that he described as a “hair care laboratory.” While Beyoncé herself wasn’t there, she did make sure Noah was cared for, “and then she basically hooks me up with like some secret products that Beyoncé uses, I guess.”

Earlier this week, Beyoncé announced a new line of haircare products under the company name Cécred. Right now, there are only a few teasers, but whatever the products are, they will be released on February 20.

So far, the 2024 award session has been the talk of the town (a.k.a. social media). That communal conversation will continue this week as the highly-anticipated Grammys ceremony is set to take place. With Trevor Noah on hosting duty for the evening, viewers and attendees are guaranteed an entertaining event (sorry, Jo Koy). But while the jokes make the night pass smoothly, the Grammys is all about who walks away with the coveted gramophone trophy.

The Grammys will return for their 66th annual awards show next February at the Crypto.com arena in Los Angeles, California. The upcoming awards boast a hefty list of nominees, with SZA taking the most with 9 nominations. And once again, with comedian and The Daily Show host Trevor Noah hosting the 2024 awards show.

Noah has hosted the show quite a few times over the past few years, and has instantly become a crowd favorite. Warming up the crowd with his witty humor and timely jokes, it’s no wonder he keeps getting asked to come back.

How many times has Trevor Noah hosted the Grammys?

Noah has previously hosted the Grammy Awards three times — the 65th awards in 2023, the 64th awards in 2022, and the 63rd awards in 2021. The 66th awards in 2024 will mark his fourth time hosting the awards.

Noah announced the news earlier this week during his Spotify exclusive podcast What Now? With Trevor Noah.

“I’m excited about that,” Noah said. “It’s a lot of fun.”

In addition to hosting, Noah is also a nominee at the upcoming Grammys. Noah is nominated for Best Comedy Album with his work, I Wish You Would.

The 66th Grammy Awards will air Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.

Trevor Noah Returns As Grammys Host For Fourth Consectutive Year

Former Daily Show host Trevor Noah has been announced as the host of the 2024 Grammys. It will be Noah’s fourth consecutive year hosting the prestigious event. “I think it’s also important to acknowledge something. I’m hosting the Grammys. I’m excited about that, yeah, it’s a lot of fun. I enjoy the Grammys because I get to watch the show in person and then experience and comment on it in person while it is happening,” Noah said on his podcast.

SZA leads Grammy nominations with nine, just ahead of Victoria Monét, Serban Ghenea, and Phoebe Bridgers with seven each. Behind them are seven artists, including Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish, with six nominations. Beyonce, who led in both nominations and awards won at this year’s event, received no nominations. The 2024 Grammys are set to take place on February 2.

Grammys Reviewing Diddy Invite

Meanwhile, the 2024 Grammys have already been beset by plenty of drama. Earlier this year, the Recording Academy briefly accepted and then later rejected an AI song for consideration. However, the major controversy has surrounded Diddy’s nomination for Best Progressive R&B Album. “We are taking this matter very seriously and we are in the process of evaluating it with the time and care that it deserves,” the Academy said earlier this week. While it’s unlikely that Diddy’s nomination will be retracted, the Academy may choose to not extend an invitation to the Bad Boy mogul.

It comes after a fourth woman sued Diddy for sexual assault. The anonymous plaintiff claims that Diddy, Havre Pierre, and an unnamed third man gang-raped her when she was 17. Both Diddy and Pierre have denied the claims and demanded that the woman lose her anonymity in the suit. However, it’s yet another suit where Diddy has been directly accused of rape. The third suit filed against him alleged that he filmed himself raping a Syracuse student after drugging her. This remains a developing story and we’ll have any updates as and when they emerge.

2024 Grammy Nominee Trevor Noah Is Also Hosting The Ceremony For His Fourth Consecutive Time

Trevor Noah isn’t a professional musician, but he has had a noteworthy role in the music industry in recent years: Since 2021, he has hosted the Grammy Awards ceremony. He’s done it for the past three years now, and in 2024, he’ll keep the run alive as he hosts the show for a fourth time.

On a new episode of his What Now? With Trevor Noah podcast shared yesterday (December 13), Noah said (as Variety reports), “I think it’s also important to acknowledge something: I’m hosting the Grammys. I’m excited about that, yeah, it’s a lot of fun. I enjoy the Grammys because I get to watch the show in person and then experience and comment on it in person while it is happening.”

Worth noting is that in addition to hosting, Noah actually has a nomination this year, too, in the Best Comedy Album category for I Wish You Would. He’s up against Chris Rock’s Selective Outrage, Dave Chappelle’s What’s In A Name?, Sarah Silverman’s Someone You Love, and Wanda Sykes’s I’m An Entertainer.

In a 2022 interview, Noah explained what he likes about hosting the show, saying, “I’m enjoying the fact that we’re juggling flaming swords. […] You develop a deep appreciation for what these people are doing beyond just the music that they make.”

The 2024 Grammys are set for February 4, 2024. In the meantime, find the full list of nominees here.

Grammys Host Trevor Noah Introduced Adele To Her Secret Idol, Dwayne Johnson (AKA The Rock)

Being a good award show means juggling a lot of different responsibilities. As three-time Grammys host Trevor Noah put it tonight, in addition to keeping the show moving along and keeping the crowd entertained with riffs between segments, he’s got to know stuff about the audience. Stuff like how much LL Cool J loves breakfast cereal (or so he says).

But not only did Noah have to keep that information handy, but he also got to put it to good use. Noting that pop star Adele is a huge fan of actor Dwayne Johnson but has never met him, Trevor joked that he didn’t have Dwayne Johnson waiting in the wings to pop out on her — but he did have “The Rock,” Johnson’s wrestling alter ego.

It was a pretty sweet — and funny — moment, as Adele is clearly overjoyed to meet her Hollywood hero, popping up to get a nice hug from him. Naturally, fans watching and tweeting along on Twitter all had the same joke about poor Rich Paul, who has been dating Adele since at least the summer of 2021.

Adele is up for seven awards tonight, including Record, Song, and Album Of The Year. You can follow along with the winners as we update our list here.

Trevor Noah Reflects On Nerves Before Hosting Grammys For 3rd Time

Trevor Noah is set to return as the host of the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, marking his third time hosting the event. Regardless of his experience, he says that he’s still nervous to be taking the stage in front of such a star-studded crowd.

“The nerves come in because you’re standing in front of not just some of the best, but some of the biggest performers in the world,” Noah recently told the Associated Press. “Nerves are part of what I do.”

Noah also reflected on the event marking his third time as host.

“Every year, I notice that I develop a different rapport with the people in the room,” he further said. “That opens you up to a few more jokes and a few more conversations in a way where people understand the context of who you are in relations to them. It means you get to have a little bit of fun without anybody feeling like you’re dunking on them.”

The former host of The Daily Show also noted that he’s excited to see the performers at the ceremony. They include Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Sam Smith, Lizzo, Steve Lacy, as well as Brandi Carlile.

“We love having Trevor because he’s so darn good at it,” said Harvey Mason jr, the CEO of the Recording Academy. Afterward, he described him as “personable” and “funny.”

As for the awards themselves, Beyoncé leads the way with nine nominations. She’s up for record and song of the year nods for her hit “Break My Soul.” Kendrick Lamar ranks second in total nominations with eight.

The Grammys will be airing live from Crypto.com Arena on Sunday on CBS and Paramount+.
