Young Thug And Gunna Are No Longer Friends, According To A Now-Deleted Post From Young Thug

In the words of Drake, Young Thug is now a member of the tweet-and-delete crew. Today (November 9), the “Yeah Yeah” rapper took to his official page with a shocking announcement.

Following Young Thug’s recent release from custody, fans held out hope for a collaboration between him and Gunna. However, Young Thug seemingly shut down that wish on X (formerly Twitter), writing (viewable here): “Gunna stop acting like we friends on the internet, I don’t know u my guy.”

This upload blindsided supporters following reports that Young Thug requested a probation exemption to allow him to remain in contact with Gunna after his release.

Users online believe Young Thug’s remarks were in response to Gunna reposting a promotional post teasing new music from Thug in his Instagram stories (viewable here).

Shortly after Thug’s removed statement Akademiks took to his X page to double down on past speculations that there was tension among the two.

“[I] still predict Young Thug to say he was hacked in a few,” he wrote. “But, how many times he gonna tell y’all he don’t f*ck wit Gunna before y’all believe it.”

In the past Thug’s father, Big Jeff, spoke out in support of Gunna, attended Gunna’s The Bittersweet Tour, and slammed “snitch” claims pointed at Gunna.

Now, Young Thug fans are side eyeing Big Jeff and all others who have recently come out to support Gunna.

The Report That Claimed Future And Drake Squashed Their Beef Is False, According To Akademiks

Fans of Drake and Future’s reconciliation celebration parade was short-lived. According to Uproxx’s Elliott Wilson the former collaborators mended their friendship.

During The Bigger Picture‘s latest episode (viewable here), Wilson claimed that the hip-hop heavy weights’ feud was official over. “I have it on good authority that Drake and Future have at least gotten on the phone and resolved their differences,” he said.

However, shortly after HipHopDX posted the confessional clip (viewable here), another industry figure came out to refute the remark. On his own platform, online commentator Akademiks shared insider knowledge to the contrary. “I’ve spoken to extremely credible sources on both sides, and Drake and Future have not been on the phone,” he said (viewable here courtesy of NFR Podcast).

Both Wilson and Akademiks have deep ties to rappers and their close affiliates. So, this has quickly become a case of he said, he said. Users across X (formerly Twitter), have expressed their frustration with these opposing recounts.

“See now this is what we aren’t gonna do, have two different stories over and over again. We need answers,” wrote one user.

Others have begun to question why Drake and Future were at odds to begin with. Hip-hop fans can understand Drake’s disdain for Metro Boomin, Kendrick Lamar, and Asap Rocky. But the supposed tension between Drake and Future has some stumped.

During a recent episode of The Bigger Picture, Elliott Wilson claimed that Drake and Future have managed to squash their beef. According to him, this was partially thanks to a Tweet from Young Thug’s account that went viral last month. “.@Drake @1future @MetroBoomin we all bruddas. Music aint the same without us collabin,” it read. Shortly after it was posted, Future retweeted it, indicating that he might be on board to reconcile.

“I have it on good authority that Drake and Future have at least gotten on the phone and resolved their differences,” Wilson said. “I think that helped the energy when Future reposted [Young Thug’s Tweet].” He went on to claim that Drake still has issues with Metro Boomin, and that Future and Drake’s reconciliation shouldn’t come as a huge surprise.

According to DJ Akademiks, however, this might not actually be the case. During a recent stream, he revealed that his sources say Drake and Future haven’t gotten on the phone at all. “I have spoken to extremely credible sources on both sides,” he explained. “And Drake and Future have not been on the phone. So not too sure who gave Elliott Wilson the authority to say this, but from what I hear that is not true, that is 100% cap.”

“Just letting you know that while this sounded great, and that all the media outlets have reprinted it, there’s a reason Drake hasn’t commented and Future hasn’t commented. Cuz it ain’t true, okay? Doesn’t mean it won’t happen in the future. That doesn’t mean I don’t personally want it to happen, and I think every fan does want it to happen. DJ Akademiks Snaps On Diddy’s Kids For Partying While Their Father Is In Jail

Everyone knows that Diddy’s situation is grim, but DJ Akademiks believes that his kids aren’t catching on. The hip-hop pundit went on an explosive rant during one of his recent live streams and berated the embattled mogul’s sons in particular. Since their father’s arrest in mid-September, Christian “King Combs Justin Combs, and Quincy Brown have been catching a lot of flak on the internet for their actions. They have been seen partying, making music, taking vacations, and etc. For all of these things listed, on the outside, it appears that all three of the boys have been pretty unfazed.

That is Akademiks’ biggest gripe throughout the 10-minute clip in which he rips into them. “Could somebody in the Diddy family read the f***ing room?” he questions. He gets into Christian the most during his diatribe, calling him out for constantly gassing up his new girlfriend Raven Tracy, taking exclusive trips, and “having the time of their life” amid his dad’s mounting legal troubles. But overall. Akademiks is really speaking to the trio and how they aren’t self-made and relying on their father’s wealth to live their extravagant lives.

“First of all none of y’all make no money. Y’all daddy gave y’all like a billion dollars or y’all got a trust fund that they workin’ on. Could y’all at least chill out while y’all daddy fightin’ for his life? he says. Ak then turns his attention toward Diddy and puts him on blast for his parenting skills or lack thereof. He feels that he never gave any of his children a “marketable skill other than doin’ the most outlandish s*** for promotion and still actin’ like they’re the life of the party.” Ak also feels that them acting like this is not giving off the impression that they think they’re portraying. The sleuth says people on the outside looking in view them as “sex fiends” and “druggers” and not the lit and happy figures they want to come across as. Overall, Ak says they can have fun, but they must be more mindful.

DJ Akademiks Theorizes Lil Durk Will Face A “Big” Indictment Over Other Alleged Crimes

DJ Akademiks has spoken at length about the recent arrest of Lil Durk for allegedly orchestrating an attempted murder of rival rapper Quando Rondo in 2022. In doing so, he theorized that the feds are planning a bigger indictment against the rapper during a recent livestream. Federal prosecutors unveiled their complaint against Durk on Friday, alleging that Only the Family is a “hybrid organization” that also functions as a criminal gang in addition to a music collective.

“Banks [Lil Durk] put a monetary bounty out for an individual with whom Banks was feuding named T.B.,” the filing reads, referencing Rondo’s initials. “Banks ordered T.B.’s murder and that the hitmen used Banks and OTF-related finances to carry out the murder.” They further alleged that it was in retaliation for the 2020 killing of King Von.

As for Akademiks’ response, he theorized that more alleged attempted murders may be brought up in an alleged full indictment. “There’s a thought of mine that says, ‘When the feds unseal this indictment, they’re gonna have every attempt on Quando Rondo’s life. There was supposedly like three or four before. They might have FBG Cash, they might have other situations. They might bring back that Atlanta joint back that he was co-defendants with Von.’”

From there, he brought up the allegations that Durk was allegedly planning to flee the country before his arrest. “The reason why the feds did it is because they thought Durk was gonna run. So, the mere fact they locked him up, is because they know they’re cooking up a grand jury indictment. And that indictment, I think, is not only gonna have this murder for hire, it’s gonna be a superseding indictment. It might be racketeering. Lil Durk Explains Why He Hates “Rats” In Resurfaced Clip That Has Fans Divided

Last year, we covered Lil Durk appearing on DJ Akademiks’ Off The Record podcast, where he spoke on why he has a hatred for snitches. It’s one of many resurfaced clips these days that caused a stronger conversation for fans this time around thanks to the Chicago rapper’s arrest for alleged murder-for-hire conspiracy. Many more insensitive jokes came around, whereas other fans labeled this as tragically prophetic or as a misguided critique. As you can see in the comments section under the Instagram post below, it was a pretty divisive discussion that became all the more relevant after this legal trouble began this week.

“I hate all rats,” Lil Durk had expressed to DJ Akademiks. “If you ever told, if you ever tell, I hate you. Like, with a passion. That took away half of my – That made me who I am today. That took away half of my life. Motherf***er telling on my pops, and that’s who I needed. So I was raised by a woman. I was raised by my momma, who taught me everything I know. For those unaware, alleged court documents reportedly indicated that there was an informant in Lil Durk’s camp that provided information about this case. The alleged OTF member reportedly just got out of prison after a roughly 12-year stint, and allegedly wore a wire to relay info to federal authorities. However, this is still an early report that hasn’t gotten much other confirmation, so take this with a grain of salt. Perhaps this isn’t exactly what court documents suggest, but we’ll have to wait and see.

As for other recent updates in Lil Durk’s situation, he reportedly still waits in a Miami prison before his transfer to Los Angeles. That’s for the California indictment that originally alleged that OTF was involved in Lul Pab’s death in the city in 2022, which was allegedly retaliation for the murder of King Von. Meanwhile, the hip-hop world continues to debate and discuss this saga.

DJ Akademiks Drags Kendrick Lamar For Talking To Non-Hip Hop Publications

Kendrick Lamar has spoken. The rapper came of hiding to speak with SZA for a profile with Harper’s Bazaar. The profile shed light on Lamar’s feelings towards his recent feud with Drake, as well as his plans for the future. It was well-received by fans, who appreciated the camaraderie between Lamar and SZA, as well as some of the rapper’s observations about life. One person who did not appreciate the interview, however, was DJ Akademiks. The hip hop personality took Lamar to task during his October 22 stream. His reasoning? He believed Lamar was being a hypocrite.

DJ Akademiks did not mince words when it came to his feelings about K. Dot. He feels the rapper has tricked fans into thinking he’s an advocate for the culture. While, at the same time, granting interview to publications outside of the culture. “A guy who claims he’s standing on morals and principles, but every time we see his actions, it seems like it’s not the truth,” Ak asserted. “A guy who says he’s only for the culture, but as soon as he gets an opportunity to go get on a platform that’s non-cultural, he runs to it.”

The hip hop personality also pointed to Kendrick Lamar’s hypocrisy with regards to Colin Kaepernick. He noted that Dot stood with the former NFL star, only to turn around accept the headlining gig for the next Super Bowl Halftime Show. “He’s playing with y’all,” DJ Akademiks insisted. Ak even took it a step further by pointing out that Lamar labeled Drake a colonizer during their feud. Despite the fact that Drake has, in Ak’s opinion, made more of an effort to connect with hip hop personalities. “At least Drake tried to tap in with me, Kai [Cenat]…”

DJ Akademiks proceeded to get more worked up as the stream continued. He pointed to hip hop media figures like DJHed and Elliott Wilson, and the fact that they championed Lamar throughout the feud. Yet, when it came time to give an interview, Lamar chose to go with Harper’s Bazaar. “I told y’all this before,” Ak stated. “Kendrick used the culture, gained the Infinity Stones. And he’s still talking that Mr. Morale sh*t.” DJ Akademiks, despite being a Drake supporter, claimed that Lamar has more power than Drizzy at this point. This is partially where his frustration stems from. He feels like Dot has turned his back on hip hop now that he’s proven victorious.

DJ Akademiks Slammed By His Own Followers For Constantly Sneak Dissing Kendrick Lamar

DJ Akademiks is coming under fire in the comments section of one of his latest posts on Instagram for using every opportunity to dunk on Kendrick Lamar that he can. Ak had shared a clip of Daylyt saying that many people on the West Coast used to hate on Lamar’s style of music.

“You know what I really hated about Kendrick Lamar’s Pop Out show? It was a lot of n****s saying, ‘that rap sh*t isn’t gonna work.’ And these n****s was front row,” Daylyt said in the video. “I’m from the West Coast so I’m gonna go ahead and say it. All those n****s used to sh*t on Kendrick. A lot of n****s in the West used to sh*t on Kendrick. I remember.” From there, he recalled everyone else being on “goofy time,” but Lamar sticking to pure hip-hop, which he says angered a lot of people.

In the comments, fans complained about Ak’s constant support of Drake. “Ak is on a historic glazing run. One for the record books,” one user wrote. Another added: “A Kendrick smear campaign months after the beef is a different level of bothered on behalf of Drake. Insane.” One more fan commented: “AK you literally Celebrated the end of Kendrick 15 minutes before he dropped not like us and you conceded … at this point it’s like your living out resentment instead of reality.”

DJ Akademiks Banned On Twitch Following Gucci Third Leg Debacle

DJ Akademiks has been streaming on Twitch for quite some time. Overall, fans tune into his streams in droves as they understand that anything can happen. Ak can be a Howard Stern-like figure in that his fans and his haters tune into his streams. Last night, Akademiks found himself on stream with Gucci Third Leg. This is an OnlyFans creator who ended up catching heat on social media for allegedly giving herpes to another creator by the name of Danae Davis.

Akademiks was on stream with Davis where he was attempting to get to the bottom of what happened with Gucci. From there, he brought Gucci on and interrogated him as well. It was an interesting stream and one that led to many memorable moments. It should also be noted that he did the stream with Adin Ross, who is a controversial streamer in his own right. However, it seems like Twitch was not a fan of the antics as they banned Ak from the platform.

The reasoning for the ban is actually quite simple. In fact, it has nothing to do with Ak bringing on adult film stars. Instead, it has everything to do with the fact that Adin Ross is banned on Twitch. When you yourself are a Twitch streamer, you are prohibited from doing any kind of streaming with banned creators. Luckily for Akademiks, he also streams on YouTube, Rumble, and he could probably stream on Kick if he wanted to. Needless to say, he doesn’t have much to worry about.

DJ Akademiks Wades Into Gucci Third Leg Drama By Asking Danae Davis A Ridiculous NSFW Question

DJ Akademiks and Adin Ross found themselves on a stream together on Monday night. Overall, this stream had just one goal in mind. That goal was to get to the bottom of the situation involving Danae Davis and Gucci Third Leg. Over the weekend, Davis accused Gucci of giving her an STI in the form of HSV-2, otherwise known as Genital Herpes. Moreover, Davis accused Gucci of allegedly passing along herpes to dozens of women as he has self-reported a body count of over 3000.

As we reported earlier today, Akademiks and Ross spoke to Gucci about the allegations. The OnlyFans star proclaimed his innocence at numerous points. He noted that the sore on his genitals was actually from shaving. Meanwhile, he showcased a screenshot of STI test results. All of them came back negative except for his HSV-1 diagnosis. Although, HSV-1 is typically just normal cold sores and is reportedly quite common. Having said all of that, Akademiks is now going viral for a question he asked while interviewing Danae Davis in an attempt to get her side of the story.

Unsurprisingly, this question landed Ak in Twitter reaction jail as numerous fans came out to clown him for being so brazen. Some felt like the question was inappropriate while others said it was disrespectful. After all, Davis has gone through a lot and is making some very bold and serious allegations. One has to wonder if a different journalist would have had better questions prepared.
