Nicki Minaj and her former manager Debra Antney have put their recent public feud to rest. Antney, known for managing Minaj during her early career, took to Instagram on Saturday, July 6, to apologize and reconcile. Posting a video from backstage at a Nicki Minaj concert, Antney expressed her regret and affection for the rap superstar.

Antney’s heartfelt message read: “1/4 of the crowd. Hard work pays off. I love you so much. I’m always proud at every show. Amongst other things, I will admit I gotta let you grow, but you will always be my baby. I’m always here—good, bad, and indifference. Sorry [crying emoji] people. @nickiminaj #4life #heavyonit.”

The two appeared to have made peace earlier that day when Antney joined Nicki Minaj’s Instagram Livestream, signaling an end to their brief but intense feud. The drama had unfolded quickly, with Minaj publicly calling out Antney just a week earlier.

The conflict began when Nicki Minaj accused her former manager of trying to mediate her long-standing feud with Lil Kim without her consent. The issue surfaced during Antney’s interview on the Opiniated Truths podcast, where she was asked about the possibility of brokering peace between Nicki and her rivals, Cardi B and Lil Kim.

“I think that we all would love to see that, but people would have to be willing to do that,” Antney responded. “To be perfectly honest with you — she’s gonna kill me for even saying this — but I did reach out to Kim.” Antney then implied that Lil Kim was not receptive to her outreach.

Upon learning about the interview, Nicki Minaj took to social media to criticize Antney for overstepping her boundaries. “Deb, Isn’t it funny how you left out the biggest part of the story?” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “I didn’t ask you to do a THING!

“You told me AFTER THE FACT & I SCREAMED ON YOU & told you if you reach out to ppl now that you’re being seen around me, they will THINK it’s coming FROM ME so to NEVER do that again w/o discussing it with me FIRST. I said I’d never want that & that now she’d think that message came from me which is not cool.”

Minaj further explained her stance, clarifying that she only wanted Foxy Brown to join her on stage, not Lil Kim or others. “No disrespect. God bless everyone & our children!!! Let us all do our thing & thank God for LIFE. Stop using my name for clickbait in 2024. We get it!!!!! I’m dat btch!!!!!!”

Nicki Minaj Reunites With Deb Antney Days After Putting Her On Blast

Earlier this week, Nicki Minaj took to X to put her former manager Deb Antney on blast. Her lengthy post arrived shortly after Antney revealed that she once reached out to Lil Kim, looking to squash her longwinded feud with the “FTCU” rapper. In response, Nicki explained that she confronted Antney for going behind her back at the time, as Lil Kim would likely believe that the message was actually coming from her.

“I didn’t ask you to do a THING! You told me AFTER THE FACT & I SCREAMED ON YOU & told you if you reach out to ppl now that you’re being seen around me, they will THINK it’s coming FROM ME so to NEVER do that again w/o discussing it with me FIRST,” Nicki wrote.

Deb Antney Joins Nicki Minaj For Instagram Live

She went on to ask Antney “How dare you?” and to urge people to stop using her name for “clickbait.” Fortunately, however, the rant doesn’t appear to have had a major impact on Nicki and Antney’s bond. Recently, the femcee took to Instagram Live alongside Antney, looking completely unfazed by their recent spat. She even called Antney her “other mama,” indicating just how close they actually are. Clearly, neither of them took the brief drama to heart, as they both appeared to be in good spirits.

Nicki even took the opportunity to play an unreleased track for fans, which they both vibed to. While commenters are glad to see the duo back on good terms, they aren’t necessarily surprised, as Antney has always had her back through thick and thin. What do you think of Nicki Minaj seemingly making up with Deb Antney after calling her out this week? Are you surprised or not? What about her previewing an unreleased song? Nicki Minaj Fires Back At Deb Antney For Trying To Make Amends With Lil Kim

Nicki Minaj went off on her former manager, Deb Antney, in a lengthy rant on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday night after the music executive revealed she once tried to squash a beef between the Pink Friday 2 rapper and Lil Kim behind her back. Speaking during a recent interview, Antney explained: “I think that we all would love to see that but people would have to be willing to do that. And to be perfectly honest with you, and [Nicki Minaj] gonna kill me for saying even this, but I did reach out to Kim.”

Afterward, Minaj expectedly was upset. “Isn’t it funny how you left out the biggest part of the story?” she began in her post. “I didn’t ask you to do a THING! You told me AFTER THE FACT & I SCREAMED ON YOU & told you if you reach out to ppl now that you’re being seen around me, they will THINK it’s coming FROM ME so to NEVER do that again w/o discussing it with me FIRST. I said I’d never want that & that now she’d think that message came from me which is not cool.” In between paragraphs, she celebrated the success of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour.

Nicki Minaj Shouts Out Ex-Manager Deb Antney

Nicki Minaj showed love to her former manager, Deb Antney, on social media, on Saturday. Antney, who is Waka Flocka Flame‘s mother, worked with Nicki for a number of years during her career. On top of her son and Minaj, she’s also worked with Gucci Mane and French Montana.

“This woman is somebody who, no matter what I went through — every time I called her, I would be crying […] and she would be like, ‘girl, that ain’t no big deal, stop!’” Nicki said. “It was great for me to see a woman in the music business have my back. You know? And tell me that there wasn’t nothing wrong with me.”

In addition to her career as a manager, Antney had been involved in reality television. She recently announced that she’s launching her own unscripted show, Deb’s House, on which she’ll look for the world’s next female rap star. “I envisioned a competition show that deviates from the norm—one centered around personal growth and self-competition,” Antney said in a statement, as noted by Deadline. “Collaborating with (co-creator and co-EP) Rasheed to bring this vision to life has been an incredible journey. Witnessing the music industry veer away from artist development towards a focus on superficiality and explicit content prompted my desire to return to the core values of true lyricism and mentorship. The search for the next female rap sensation in Deb’s House is my way of reigniting that passion. The selection of our show as ALLBLK’s first commissioned competition reality series is truly thrilling. My sincere appreciation goes to my AMC Networks family, particularly Brett Dismuke, for their steadfast belief in this transformative project.”

Gucci Mane Lied About Killing Pookie Loc, Deb Antney Claims

Deb Antney called cap on claims that Gucci Mane killed Jeezy’s affiliate Pookie Loc during a home invasion.

During a recent interview with the Ugly Money Podcast, Deb Antney discussed Gucci Mane and Jeezy’s Verzuz battle in 2020. The showdown was one that nobody expected to take place in their lifetime but the two trap music veterans showed out to play hit after hit before performing “So Icy” together for the first time since their falling out.

Antney praised the two for joining forces for a bigger cause, though she said she didn’t like Gucci’s comments about Pookie Loc. However, Antney stated after that there isn’t any truth to Gucci Mane murdering Pookie Loc.

“It’s over with now. Technically, you really didn’t kill anybody, you know what I’m sayin’?” Antney said before describing the claims as fabricated.

“Let’s stop talking about that now because all these kids think that you’re the number one killer. And let’s not talk about it no more because now you’re a dad, you got two sons,” she continued. “Come into that and think about your kids looking at something. And these kids are looking at you a certain kind of way of something that’s fictitious. It was done for rap.”

Podcast host Ugly Money Niche looked baffled by the claim, pressing Antney further for confirmation on her claims. He asked her for a clear answer on if Gucci Mane actually murdered Pookie Loc. “No,” she said, shaking her head.

During Verzuz, Gucci Mane performed the single, “The Truth” on stage where he rapped, “Go dig your partner up, n***a, bet he can’t say shit.” Last year, Wop appeared at the 2022 REVOLT Summit where he admitted he wished he “wouldn’t have said what I said.”

“I didn’t know when I got on the stage, that was gonna happen, [that] I was gonna say that,” he added. “I ain’t like, ‘I’m bringing negative energy.’ It just really came out.”

Deb Antney Recalls 50 Cent’s Advice About Bad Business In Music Industry

Deb Antney opened up about her time in the music industry during a recent conversation on My Expert Opinion. During the latest episode of the podcast, she detailed her relationship with Gucci Mane, Nicki Minaj, and others but she also divulged advice she received from 50 Cent.

Deb Antney explained how she helped salvage Asylum Records but she also wasn’t bending over backward to help them out. She said that she also wouldn’t allow Gucci Mane and other artists to ink certain contracts. However, she said that two executives told her that she would be the “new Mona Scott.”

“50 said, ‘Aunty, don’t listen to them.’ And he said ‘come here’ — and that’s the first time I seen Power. All the stuff that he was doing. This was years he was in the works of gettin’ this shit together,” she said. “And I seen that and we was just talking and he was telling me, don’t listen to them and they full of shit… He used to drop a lot of jewels on me and tell me stuff but he was in the office that day when they was telling me that. That’s what did everything. I bucked on them. Like, I wasn’t a person that they could control. They couldn’t tell me what to do. They couldn’t tell me to flip on you.’”

During the episode, Antney also discussed the state of women in hip-hop. As the former manager of Nicki Minaj, she praised the “Super Freaky Girl” rapper’s grind to get to where she is. And while she also showed love to Cardi for embracing the new generation of rappers, she expressed slight disappointment that both New York artists never worked together.

“I hated—I really thought Nicki and Cardi was really gonna lock into each other. They’re two different people. I wanted that so bad. I wanted that bad to see them two get into each other,” she said.

Deb Antney Thought Nicki Minaj & Cardi B Would “Lock In”

The impact that women in Rap have on the industry is unprecedented, and Deb Antney has been tracking its progression. As more ladies are staking their claims in Hip Hop, we’re seeing a rediscovered unity—although, there are still moments when internet rifts get the best of them. Antney was instrumental in Minaj’s rise to stardom, and on My Expert Opinion, she spoke about her former client.

“I wanted to put the whole thing together with women,” said Antney. “But everybody always got something to say about the next woman.”

She also spoke about maturing artists who try to compete with the younger, rising generation.

“Bring these babies up and let them come out!” she added. “Let it keep passing on! What you look like on stage? That’s just as bad as some of these 50-year-old rappers… You’re dated! And you still wanna be up here doing this stuff. There’s other things that you could be into. Bring up somebody else and let them come through.”

Math Hoffa contested that there are rappers who do just that. When Deb asked for an example, Cardi B’s name entered the conversation. The “Up” hitmaker is well-known for partnering with rising artists, especially young women, on collaborations or by giving them shout-outs.

Cardi is very good when it comes to stuff like that,” said Antney. “She’s very, very good… That’s Cardi!” The conversation drifted to New York rappers having a 10 year stretch when artists weren’t “putting nobody on.”

Antney praised Minaj’s grind, adding that people still don’t know her sacrifices to get where she is. She also touched on Cardi and Minaj’s beef, saying she doesn’t get involved in those discussions.

“I don’t get into that beef sh*t. That’s people. See, the one thing that an artist gotta understand: it costs money to go to war. You don’t wanna spend that money,” said Antney.

“I hated—I really thought Nicki and Cardi was really gonna lock into each other. They’re two different people. I wanted that so bad. I wanted that bad to see them two get into each other.”

There have been wars of words between Cardi and Nicki, but these days, it seems they actively avoid one another. However, their fanbases have been known to stir the pot, often creating unnecessary viral moments that place both women in an unfortunate spotlight.

[WATCH] Deb Antney: OJ Da Juiceman Was Really The Street One, Not Gucci

Management mogul Deb Antney appeared on a recent episode of the Ugly Money Podcast and doubled down on her admittance to neglecting OJ Da Juiceman, however, Ms. Antney did make a claim about OJ that seemed to slight another former artist, Gucci Mane.

When comparing OJ to Mr. LaFlare in reference to their street credibility, Antney said matter-of-factly, “He was really the street one. It wasn’t Gucci, it was him. He was the street guy. That’s who the real street guy was, Juice. But he wanted to change his life. He really wanted to change his life.”

Deb Antney Says OJ Da Juiceman Is A “Real Street Guy,” Gucci Mane Isn’t

Deb Antney is speaking out against one of her former clients. In a recent press run, the music manager responds to some past claims from OJ Da Juiceman.

Last year, the “Make the Trap Say Aye” rapper made some bold accusations against his former manager.

While appearing on the Big Facts podcast in March last year, he claimed to have signed a bad deal with Antney and her record label, Mizay Entertainment. He alleges to never seeing any money from his 2009 album, The Otha Side of the Trap.

Antney’s son is none other than Waka Flocka Flame, who later came to his mother’s defence. The two went back and forth via their Instagram stories. “Bruh, you lame as f*ck, talkin’ ’bout n****s stole from you. P*ssy ass n***a. You know who stole from you, you lame ass n***a. Stop puttin’ that sh*t on my mama,” the “No Hands” rapper clapped back in response.

In an interview with the Ugly Money Podcast earlier this week, the music manager denies these claims from OJ. When asked about it, she opens up about the situation. “Every interview I ever did, I tell people I neglected him. And I’ll sit here and say that right now, to this day, still, I neglected him because he didn’t give me no fever. Juice was good. He was quiet, no matter what he did,” she exclaimed.

Furthermore, she took some time to set the record straight about OJ and his frequent collaborator, Gucci Mane. “He was really the street one. It wasn’t Gucci, it was him. He was the street guy. That’s who the real street guy was, Juice. But he wanted to change his life. He really wanted to change his life,” she claims.

At the end of the clip, however, she sounds confused as to why the Atlanta rapper would’ve made these accusations. “All the stuff that we did together that you wanted to do, why would you lie on me and say that I did that to you? Why? You know I didn’t do that to you,” she says afterwards.

Antney has also managed Gucci Mane and Nicki Minaj in the past. She was also a cast member in seasons three-six of Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta.
