According to Genius, this is the lead single for Austin Post’s full-on country album, which does not have a release date or title. The moment was pretty unexpected, but nonetheless, fans are here for it. Some even think Sexyy Red should try her hand at country music now. After all, the crossover has worked out for Beyonce, Lil Nas X, and more. She thanked Bryan for inviting her in a Tweet today, also sharing various fun photos and clips from the evening. “When you from the hood but you got ah country friend,” she captioned a shot of her and Bryan.

Sexyy also let her fans know “how a hood b*tch pull up to a country concert,” flaunting an outfit consisting of denim shorts, a cropped jacket, and a pair of sneakers. Of course, she also topped the look off with her signature “Big Sexyy” chain and some shades. It remains unclear whether or not she and Bryan plan to hit the studio together anytime soon, or if her recent appearance was just for fun. Either way, they both seemed to have a blast.

Earlier this year, Beyonce released her highly-anticipated new album Cowboy Carter. It was the second release in her Renaissance trilogy of genre experimentations and it focused on indulging in country music. While she’s far from the first artists to ever attempt to transition into country music, the biggest comparison many fans made was K. Michelle. Some even elevated it to accusations of ripping off her transition from R&B into country. While that was months ago and has mostly been settled since, comments made by Tamar Braxton on a podcast reignited the debate and sparked a robust response from Michelle.

Braxton commented that black artists crossing over into country music had to be careful to represent the culture well. While the discussion was primarily focused on Beyonce, and K. Michelle wasn’t mentioned by name, she still felt slighted. That seemingly caused her to erupt into an absolute Twitter tirade making numerous tweets about the situation trying to defend herself. In her series of tweets she repeatedly insults Braxton, who replies once again claiming she didn’t mention Michelle by name and claims to not even be talking about her. In the comments of a post recapping the situation. Michelle once again comments. “Y’all know I wouldn’t be saying anything. He says the legendary singer is “shifting music” with her genre experimentation and venture into country. “Beyonce I just want to say appreciate the country album, she literally shifting music,” he wrote. “All the labels looking for country records because of the shift she’s started just by this album. And even inspiring me, people who look like me, to step outside the box as an urban artist.” He ended the post with a heart emoji.

In response, many of his fans expressed a similar reaction. “Beyonce’s ability to transcend genres is truly remarkable. she continues to break barriers and inspire artists across all spectrums,” one user wrote. Another added simply: “exactly king.”

Not all of the response to Cowboy Carter has been so positive. Courtney Love recently admitted that, while she likes Beyonce, she didn’t like the album. “I like the idea of Beyonce doing a country record because it’s about Black women going into spaces where previously only white women have been allowed, not that I like it much. As a concept, I love it. I just don’t like her music,” the Hole singer explained to Standard. Before that, Azaelia Banks made headlines for criticizing Beyonce’s project. “Sis, I live for Whiteyonce Donatella Bianca Bardot DOWN, but I’m kind of ashamed at how [you] switch from Baobab trees and Black Parade to this literal pick me stuff,” she wrote on Instagram back in March.

HARDY Puts Country Twang On The Classic Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre Collab “Gin & Juice”

Just a couple of months ago, two of the West Coast’s most prominent rap figures Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre announced a new alcoholic beverage. Promotional videos for the perfectly named “Gin & Juice” rolled out in February, as each artist continues to create more avenues for themselves. It seems the drink is in the process of being rolled out still, according to The Source, and it is being distributed nationally through Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits. It is known to be the largest beverage distributor in the United States, so there is clearly a lot of support behind the spiked concoction.

Four flavors are available, including apricot, citrus, melon, and passionfruit and it is a premium gin-based cocktail. While Snoop and Dre will certainly not have too much trouble marketing it themselves, some extra exposure never hurts. The iconic G-funk duo has done just that, according to HipHopDX, as they have asked country singing star HARDY to give the drink a larger audience outside of hip-hop. The Mississippi native got the okay to recreate the rappers’ essential track “Gin & Juice” with Southern flare.

Shaboozey’s Legend With Hip-Hop Fans Continues To Grow On “Vegas”

Beyonce has certainly been wowing hip-hop and country fans with recent singles “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” and “16 CARRIAGES.” However, there is another artist we feel you should be paying attention to that may be doing it a bit better. Shaboozey, a native of Virginia and of Nigerian descent, has been blowing up over the past couple of months. However, the 28-year-old has been mixing elements of hip-hop and country since the mid 2010s. Today, we excited to cover our first Shaboozey track “Vegas.”

A song that has turned a lot of hip-hop fans heads as of late has been “Let It Burn.” The track released in October of 2023 and it sees Shaboozey bust out his rapping chops on the second half. What also makes the break-up song work so well is his standout deep and husky voice. Even in a high register, he shines as well.

“Vegas” incorporates some similar elements of that song, but this one is a little less explosive. However, that is not to say it is a bad song by any means. Act II: Cowboy Carter, the title of the new album by Beyonce was recently revealed on the superstar’s website. The new era to follow Renaissance is almost fully upon us, as the project is expected to be released on March 29, 2024. Beyonce nearly broke the internet when she announced the album’s first two singles in her iconic Verizon ad. Since then, “Texas Hold ‘Em” has reached number one on the Hot 100 chart and became a viral hit on social media.

Fans are beyond ready for this country album, and the reception of the lead singles proves it. Beyonce has already given us a taste of what to expect from Cowboy Carter with “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages.” However, there are a few other things we hope to accompany the highly anticipated album. While we may not be able to enforce these terms on Queen Bey, we can certainly dream.

A Dolly Parton Feature

During a recent interview with Knox News, country icon Dolly Parton was asked if Beyonce had recorded any covers of her music before. “Well, I think she has,” Parton answered, to the delight of fans everywhere. “I think she’s recorded ‘Jolene’ and I think it’s probably gonna be on her country album, which I’m very excited about that,” she concluded. Admittedly, Ms. Parton only subtly revealed that Beyoncé’s cover could appear on the album. However, there’s a chance the track, if it exists, could feature Dolly Parton herself, which would be phenomenal. If there are guest appearances on Cowboy Carter, Beyonce, we want Dolly Parton to be one. Just imagine how iconic it would be!

Over the years, the Beyhive has witnessed Blue Ivy’s growth, and they are almost as proud of her as her actual parents. Once dubbed the most famous baby in the world, she is now a 12-year-old Grammy Award winner. Additionally, her appearance on Jay-Z’s “Glory” when she was just two days old earned her a Guinness World Record. Blue Ivy appeared on “Brown Skin Girl” with her mother in 2019. Also, the Beyhive saw a lot of her in 2023 throughout the Renaissance World Tour. However, we would love to see her make an appearance on another Beyonce track, preferably on Cowboy Carter. Evidently, she has been honing her craft behind the scenes. It would be lovely to hear how her voice has matured since “Brown Skin Girl.”

Genre Fusion

Beyonce has never been one to shy away from experimentation, and we expect nothing less from Cowboy Carter. Throughout her career, she has consistently pushed musical boundaries, and it’s always paid off. Cowboy Carter is an album that will be heavily influenced by country music. However, knowing Beyoncé, she will bring her twist to it, and that’s exactly what we want. While paying homage to the roots of the genre, we believe Queen Bey will also be able to push the envelope yet again on this album.

Music Videos (please?)

Throughout the Renaissance era, Beyoncé did not release any music videos. That was a huge contrast to her last album, Lemonade, which had a video for each song. For Renaissance, the closest fans got to visuals was the documentary film. However, for Cowboy Carter, we want music videos. Pretty please. As a matter of fact, we won’t be greedy and ask for a music video for each song. Just please, give us visuals this time, Bey.

Another World Tour

Undeniably, the Renaissance World Tour in 2023 remains one of the most iconic things to happen in recent music history. Some have even called the experience life-changing, and that’s no surprise at all. Beyoncé went all out with it like we know she would again if she organizes a tour for Cowboy Carter. If anybody can surpass the excellence and spectacle that was the RWT, it is certainly Beyoncé herself. While she would have her work cut out for her, Queen Bey has never been one to disappoint. We do hope she expands to more locations this time though. Hive members in many more countries around the world would love an opportunity to see her live as well.
