Cardi B Debates New York’s Best Chopped Cheese With Adorable Child Journalist Jazzy’s World

Watch out, Nardwuar, Jazzy’s World is coming for your spot. The 11-year-old Brooklyn-bred reporter (real name Jazlyn Guerra) has been going viral left and right thanks to adorable and earnest interviews with some of the biggest names in music and sports, including Jay-Z, J. Cole, and Shaq, and it turns out she’s just getting started. Her latest big get is Cardi B, who looks absolutely delighted to be getting interviewed by a kid who is only a few years away from being her own daughter’s age.

In the clip below, the pair share one of the timeless New Yorker debates: Which borough has the best chopped cheese sandwich. Jazzy has one stipulation though: “Before you answer,” she says. “Do not say The Bronx just because you’re from there… Let’s talk facts.” Listen, this kid’s got the right stuff. She’s gonna make it in this biz. “Let my tell you why I’m gonna say The Bronx,” Cardi shoots back. “I go to the studio here in downtown [Manhattan], and every time I leave the studio, it be like three or four o’clock in the morning and when I be hungry… I order a chopped cheese and they just don’t have like how I remember it growing up.” She does admit, however, that she’s never had one from Brooklyn.

Of course, Jazzy thinks her home borough of Brooklyn makes the best chopped cheese, suggesting that the debate will continue forever. Meanwhile, hidden in there is the knowledge that Cardi has been going to the studio and working on her upcoming sophomore album until late (or early), so there must be some progress being made, right? Cardi B Calls Rolling Stones “Invasion Of Privacy” Ranking A “Setup”

Last month, Rolling Stones dropped their list of the 200 greatest hip hop albums of all time. The ranking of many albums sparked outrage, with the publication putting recently released albums over certified classics. One ranking that caught a lot of attention was Cardi B’s debut album, Invasion Of Privacy at number 16 on the list. In a new interview with Angela Yee’s Lip Service podcast, the “Hot Sh*t” rapper called the ranking a “setup.”

“They was dragging me like ‘How dare them put Cardi before Nas.’ … I was like, oh my goodness. I just woke up and I’m getting my ass dragged. I didn’t even ask for this,” Cardi said.

While Cardi agreed with many of the people who were frustrated with the ranking, she also reintegrated how impactful her album was.

“I understand that but it’s like, b*tch, I ain’t motherf*cking ask for it,” Cardi said. “You know, I understand that people feel a certain type of way. But don’t try to disrespect me or my work or my album because your mother was listening to my shit, your b*tch was driving, listening to f*cking ‘Be Careful.’ All y’all b*tches, all y’all h*es. So it’s like, don’t even try it.”

Cardi went on to say how her debut album is “classic” in its own right, but Rolling Stones ranking of the album was a “setup.”

“Yeah, it was, like, a setup. … Rolling Stone, you trying to set me up,” Cardi said. “You got my ass dragged on a fucking Tuesday for no reason.”

Cardi B Says Her Debut’s Top-20 Ranking On The ‘Rolling Stone’ Greatest Hip-Hop Albums List Was A ‘Setup’

Last month, Rolling Stone shared their list of hip-hop’s 200 greatest albums. Naturally, it’s practically impossible to do something like that without upsetting some legion of rap fans in some corner of the world. In fact, it happens with yearly lists (check out Uproxx’s Best Of 2022 So Far lists while you’re here) so you can only imagine what the reaction would be towards a list filled with albums from the last half-century. One of the talking points from the Rolling Stone list was Cardi B’s debut Invasion Of Privacy. Many felt that the album, which was ranked at No. 16, was placed too high on the list.

During a recent interview on Angela Yee’s Lip Service, Cardi spoke about the list and how she felt it was a “setup.”

“They was dragging me like ‘How dare them put Cardi before Nas,” she said around the interview’s 52-minute mark. “I was like, oh my goodness. I just woke up and I’m getting my ass dragged. I didn’t even ask for this.”

Despite this, Cardi made sure to remind people are the album’s impact.

“I understand that but it’s like, b*tch, I ain’t motherf*cking ask for it,” she added. “You know, I understand that people feel a certain type of way. But don’t try to disrespect me or my work or my album because your mother was listening to my sh*t, your b*tch was driving, listening to f*cking ‘Be Careful.’ All y’all b*tches, all y’all hoes. So it’s like, don’t even try it.”

Still, Cardi wasn’t too pleased with how the list disrupted her peace.

“Of course they’re gonna use a b*tch like me. […] It’s gonna start a stir,” Cardi said. “Yeah, it was, like, a setup. […] Rolling Stone, you trying to set me up. You got my ass dragged on a f*cking Tuesday for no reason.”

Cardi B Wants To Collaborate With Lil Kim On Her Upcoming Album

On the heels of her newest single, “Hot Sh*t,” Cardi B stopped by Hot 97 to talk about her upcoming sophomore album. While she did not reveal a title or release date for the album, she did share that she had ideas for some collaborations on the album. As for one of the collaborations, Cardi noted that she wants to collaborate with fellow New York City native Lil Kim on her record.

“I even hit her up, I want Lil Kim on my album,” she said. “I do have a song that I think, ‘Aight she’s good for it,’ but then I’m also debating on another song. Because I kinda want her on this one, too. What I really wanted to do was like an ‘Aunt Dot’ with her. … But then I’m kinda debating, is that gonna be a little bit outdated? How’s it gonna be? … I just want the song I do with her, I want it to be like a super, like, great comeback. I just don’t want to put her on my album on a song and it’s like, ‘Cool, yeah, she had a Lil’ Kim feature.’ I want this to be like her insane…her moment.”

Earlier today, Cardi took to Twitter to answer questions from fans. During her impromptu Q&A, she said she would also like to collaborate with Latto. She also expressed a desire to make an all-Spanish album, as well as a collaborative mixtape with her husband, Offset.
