Capella Grey Previews Upcoming Album With “Strings” Featuring French Montana & Fivio Foreign

Capella Grey has grown his brand very well over the course of his career. The Bronx, New Yorker has mixed elements of rap, R&B, and dancehall to create a very unique sound, one that he can partially thank for his Jamaican roots. In addition to this, he also has his own label, Allepac the Family (Capella backwards), in the early stages of the 2020 decade. The solo catalog is still a work in progress for the 28-year-old multi-hyphenate, as he has just two shorter projects to boast right now. Both dropped in 2023 and one was more of a Christmas/holiday-themed record. So, if you wanted to be really technical about it, Capella only has one album out. Soon though, that album catalog will expand to two it seems. If you head over to his Instagram page his bio reads, “Vibe Responsibly Vol.1 [6/21]”. There is not much information on it when it comes to tracklist or features, but we do a small piece to the puzzle now. That would be Capella Grey’s “Strings” with French Montana and Fivio Foreign.

This is one of many single releases for him this year, but it is his fifth solo offering. On “Strings”, Capella Grey sings about wanting to be with a woman without any commitment. Fivio and French share the same sentiments, as the duo raps over a mix of dancehall and R&B instrumentation. The rhythm is there, and the melodies from Capella add a nice bit of extra sauce to the track overall. If you want, you can check out “Strings” on YouTube with the link below or on your favorite streaming service.

Capella Grey Sparks Controversy For Transphobic Comments About Dwyane Wade

Dwyane Wade has become a surprising champion of the LGBT community. The former Miami Heat player has one of the most impressive lists of NBA accomplishments in the league history. He racked up three championships as a member of the Heat and was named an All-Star an astonishing 13 times throughout his career. Since his retirement in 2019, however, he hasn’t faded from the public eye. Wade has continued to host game shows, appear at NBA events like All-Star Weekend, and become an advocate for transgender rights.

That advocacy followed his then 12-year-old daughter Zaya coming out as trans. Since then he hasn’t been shy about sharing positive messages to the trans community and the LGBT community at large. In a later interview he even revealed that he moved his family out of Florida to escape the states anti-LGBT policies. Now, Capella Grey has sparked a brand new controversy with a tweet about Wade’s support of his daughter and advocacy for LGBT people. His post has fans more divided than ever before in his comments. Check out what he had to say below.

Grey’s hateful and profanity-laced tweet came earlier today. “Dwayne Wade is Disgusting. F*ck are u egging your son on to be a girl at 12. Ya normalizing to much weird sh*t and then celebrating it. F*ck it cancel me ya n*ggas is freaked out and bugged tf out” his post reads. Unsurprisingly, many came to Wade’s defense in the comments. Fans argued for Wade supporting his daughter, rather than “egging” her on. Equally unsurprising though, Grey didn’t seem to want to hear it. He continued arguing his point underneath multiple comments on the post trying to refute his hateful rhetoric.

What do you think of Capella Grey’s divisive comments about Dwyane Wade and his daughter Zaya? Are you surprised by how many people still take issue with Wade supporting his child’s transition? Let us know in the comment section below.

Wyclef Jean, Pusha T, Lola Brooke, And Flau’jae Go From Rags To Riches On ‘Paper Right’

The “rags to riches” tale is a staple of hip-hop, so much so that on Wyclef Jean’s new song “Paper Right,” he’s able to recruit a whole posse cut worth of rappers to help him detail how to stack enough cash to retire a couple of generations. Interestingly, in addition to employing Pusha T, one of rap’s most notable street prophets-turned-business moguls, he also lends the spotlight to a trio of rising stars in Lola Brooke, Flau’jae Johnson, and singer Capella Grety.

The song is part of an outreach program by The Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America (TIAA) called Retire Inequality. According to the campaign’s website, its mission is to provide savings and investment information to Black Americans, who are likely to not have enough savings to retire. To that end, “Paper Right” references generational wealth multiple times, as well as investing advice, like real estate and side hustling; funnily enough, it might be the first time we’ve ever heard Pusha repudiate the drug game mentality that he’s espoused on basically every other thing he’s recorded (even those odd Arby’s jingles he did a couple of years ago).

All of those artists — save Flau’jae, who’s in the middle of LSU’s basketball season — appeared on The Tonight Show to perform the track last night. Check it out below.

Young Devyn Is Back Again With “Baby Goat 2”

Young Devyn’s keeping her foot on the gas with the release of her latest body of work, Baby Goat 2. The eight-song follow-up to 2021’s highly acclaimed EP showcases her maturity and captures her growth. The album boasts some impressive collaborations — a sign that she’s certainly leveling up. Devyn trades bars with the likes of Fivio Foreign, Capella Grey and Kenzo B appear across the project’s tracklist.

She described the body of work as an “update on her life” for all of her supporters who’ve followed her career over the years. Furthermore, it’s a representation of her rags-to-riches story.

“Baby Goat 2 tells a story of a young girl coming out of a very boxed-in environment & becoming something of herself. With this project, I speak on topics that I didn’t specifically mention on the first EP because I wanted to give my supporters a real in-depth journey into my growth from project to project,” she said of the project. “This is my way of giving everybody an update on where I’m at in my life and bring that representation for young people just like me on their grind. A true story. The production is elevated, I got nicer, and that hunger is back. Baby Goat 2 about to run the city!”
