Busta Rhymes And Coi Leray Channel A Jay-Z Favorite In Their ‘Luxury Life’ Video

Busta Rhymes and Coi Leray already demonstrated impressive lyrical chemistry when he remixed her hit single “Players.” But that chemistry is even more advanced on “Luxury Life,” where the two rappers trade dynamic back-and-forth rhymes over a sample of The Whole Darn Family’s “Seven Minutes Of Funk.” In fact, it’s the very sample from Jay-Z’s second Reasonable Doubt single “Ain’t No N****” with Foxy Brown, which used a similar rhyme scheme. Busta and Coi even sing the hook in the same style, which was originally lifted from the Four Tops’ “Ain’t No Woman (Like The One I’ve Got).”

The video is similarly an ode to the ’90s, with Busta and Coi sticking up a diner in a visual homage to Pulp Fiction (a scene that gets referenced quite a lot in hip-hop, such as in Sleepy Brown and Outkast’s “I Can’t Wait” video), then battling it out in a dojo with references to The Matrix. There’s also a pull of Bruce Lee and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s fight scene from Game Of Death. Busta loves his movies, it’s nice to see him keep that trend going while passing the torch to the next generation.

So far, Busta’s last two videos have featured BIA (“Beach Ball“) and Coi Leray… can we get a Rah Digga reunion, too??

Who Are The Openers For 50 Cent’s ‘The Final Lap Tour?’

50 Cent is in the thick of his ambitious The Final Lap Tour, celebrating 20 years since his Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ debut, but he’s not going it alone. Busta Rhymes is accompanying the rapper on all dates — and the two recently graced the cover of Men’s Health with Method Man — while Jeremih is the special guest for the North American leg. However, a different guest made headlines at the first of two shows at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on August 9: J. Cole joined 50 Cent on stage to perform “No Role Modelz.” He even dropped a hot take on his way out.

“Can I say this before I walk off stage? Make some noise for one of the greatest n****s to do this sh*t: 50 Cent, Curtis Jackson,” Cole told the crowd (as seen in a fan-captured video). “Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ is the best album of all time. I don’t give a f*ck what you talkin’ ’bout! It’s Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ at No. 1, and it’s Thriller at No. 2, and I love Michael Jackson.”

The Final Lap Tour began on July 21 at Maverik Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, and 50 Cent has since performed 21 North American shows. Next up is the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on Thursday, August 24.

The North American leg is due to wrap on September 17 at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Detroit, Michigan. The European and UK leg kicks off on September 28 in Amsterdam and will continue throughout November before visiting Australia and New Zealand in December. See all of the remaining dates here.

T-Pain’s Alleged Mistress Tells Tasha K About Rapper Infecting Her & Sleeping With Married Busta Rhymes

In the time before social media ran the world, it was much easier for people to keep their extramarital affairs hidden. Now, all it takes is one double tap, screenshot, or podcast interview for allegations to start flowing in. We’ve seen rappers, athletes, politicians, and countless others exposed for their NSFW antics in recent decades. On controversial media personality Tasha K’s Unwine show, the alleged mistress of “Kiss Kiss” hitmaker T-Pain and his friend Busta Rhymes had plenty to say about her time spent secretly romancing the recording artists.

“I have to ask, ‘cuz you said, ‘I had never dealt with a married man before.’ Did you sleep with Busta Rhymes while he was married?” Tasha asked her guest, Passion. Rather than answer, the woman grinned and looked away from the camera. “So we got T-Pain, what about Ray J?” the host further pressed, though the rapper’s lover denied venturing into the world of R&B with Kim Kardashian’s ex. “Busta Rhymes, so you slept with him knowing that he had a wife?” Tasha assumed though the alleged mistress says she wasn’t aware of her man’s marriage at the time.

“I swear to God Tasha, and I dealt with him for a minute too,” Passion doubled down when her interviewer accused her of lying. Before the clip above comes to an end, the Unwine host also asked her guest if she got pregnant due to sexual encounters with any of the men in her life, though we didn’t exactly get a clear answer regarding that.

On the topic of Busta Rhymes’ sex life, it was only a few weeks ago when the “Look At Me Now” MC went viral for revealing what lead him to lose an impressive amount of weight. As it turns out, losing his breath in the bedroom was reason enough for Busta to make some major life changes. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

A Post-Sex ‘Asthma Attack’ Motivated Busta Rhymes To Lose A Whopping 100 Pounds

Busta Rhymes has undergone a major weight loss, shedding over 100 pounds. He spoke about his body transformation in a recent interview with Men’s Health, and when it comes to what prompted the weight loss, he says it was a asthma attack-like experience after sex.

Busta explained:

“One night I was getting ready to have, make, you know… I was getting ready to have an intimate moment with my ex. I had a breathing issue after the intimate interaction. […] I was having a really difficult time breathing, so I got up and I walked out of the bedroom so she wouldn’t panic seeing me trying to keep myself calm. I was trying to inhale, and it felt like it wasn’t working. I felt like I was having like an asthma attack — but I don’t have asthma. So I walked out of the bedroom and went into the living room, and I was forcing myself to inhale, to relax. That was scaring me so much that it was a mindf*ck, because I had to stay calm and make sure she didn’t hear me panic or hear me struggle to breathe. I’m butt-ass naked in the living room, trying to calm myself down.”

The rapper continued, “When I came back in the room once I got right, I laid back down next to her and she said something to me that really f*cked me up. She was like, ‘Yo, this is not who I fell in love with.’ She didn’t know what had happened outside, but she was looking at my body and the weight. She was like, ‘You gotta lose this weight. This breathing is scaring me. When I met you, you wasn’t like a musclehead, but you, you was slim, you was cut, you had your sh*t right. I need you to get back to who I fell in love with.’”

As for what caused him to gain weight in the first place, Busta explained, “That had to do with me never properly dealing with the loss of my father. My dad died in 2014 and I drowned myself in work. I just kept drinking, smoking, eating bad — the whole nasty — and recording a bunch of songs just to escape the pain.”

Busta Rhymes Recalls Tupac Shakur Choking An Audio Engineer

Busta Rhymes has been circulating in the music news for the past few days and for good reason. He recently graced the issue of Men’s Health as part of the celebration of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary. In this feature, Busta and other fellow rappers, 50 Cent, Common, and others were asked to talk about their personal mental health battles throughout their careers. Other questions naturally came up during their interviews and Busta shared a one-of-a-kind story from his past during the late 90s.

He retold a story about the effervescent icon and close friend, Tupac Shakur. “I had an incredible relationship with Pac,” says Busta. “Me and Pac been friends from early Leaders days. Before he put out his s**t, when he was still dancing with Digital Underground.” That is where this tale comes into play, back during a college show.

How Did This Happen?

Busta Rhymes harkens back to the unforgettable memory saying, “We doing a college show somewhere on the West Coast, and Digital Underground, [Tupac] was still with them.” He goes on, “We get to the soundcheck late, so the sound man was kind of turning off the equipment and was like, “’Y’all kind of missed your window for the soundcheck.’” Tupac had overheard the conversation so, Busta continues, “Tupac starts choking this motherf***er.”

So, the Leaders of the New School had to interject because they were afraid Tupac would get them kicked off the show. Funny enough, Tupac proclaimed the group to be “legends” even with just one album out at the time. How much Tupac history do you know? What is your reaction to this story? Busta Rhymes Reveals NSFW Reason For Losing Weight

Busta Rhymes was one of six rap icons featured in Men’s Health latest issue. The other respective figures included were 50 Cent, Common, Wiz Khalifa, Method Man, and Ludacris. Each had a forthright approach to their interviews, laying out their personal journeys to better themselves. Of all the methods and experiences detailed in these feature pieces, Busta Rhymes might take the cake for the most out-there story that began his path to a healthier self.

What is that exactly? Well, Busta Rhymes harkens back to a “mindf**k-” moment with his ex-wife. He vividly remembers this period in his life when he was not at his best physically. One night, they were sharing an intimate time together. All of a sudden, he had difficulties inhaling. Not wanting to see his significant other have to stress and panic about the situation, he exited the bedroom to recollect himself. A traumatic-like episode encouraged him to lose 100 pounds.

Busta Rhymes had even more to share in his interview with Men’s Health. After his wife at the time found him in a state of shock to Busta, she said, “‘This is not who I fell in love with.’” She continued, “‘When I met you, you wasn’t like a musclehead, but was slim, you was cut, you had your shit right. I need you to get back to who I fell in love with.’” He also talked about how his son used to slap his stomach while greeting him, poking fun at his weight. Furthermore, he had surgery done on his vocal cords due to polyps blocking 90 percent of his throat.

But now Busta is back to feeling great and performing in front of thousands of fans on The Final Lap Tour with 50 Cent and Jeremih.
