In 2023, musician-turned-mogul 50 Cent stepped off the television set and back onto the stage. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of his debut album, Get Rich Or Die Tryin’, the “Candy Shop” rapper announced The Final Lap Tour. Across several countries and more than 100 shows, supporters were reminded of 50 Cent’s dominating run in hip-hop.

Each night, the show brought in millions in ticket sales. But a production of that magnitude doesn’t come cheap, and according to Tony Yayo, 50 Cent covered all expenses for The Final Lap Tour out of his own pocket.

During a recent sit-down with VladTV, Yayo revealed that his longtime friend and label head pulled out the big bucks to pay 300 staffers, set costs, and more. “Everybody’s coming there, of course, to work for 50 ’cause 50 cuts the budget,” he said. “But when you think of everything that’s behind it, from production, road management, catering, dancers, f*ckin’ stewardess on the jet, pilots — everybody’s like one big team. And 50 pays for everything… His merch is in the millions. He’s an icon. You can ask anyone. The people that ran the tour from Live Nation, they’ll tell you: ‘Your favorite rapper can’t do what 50 just did.’”

According to him, everyone’s also paid pretty well, including himself. Elsewhere in the interview, he shared details of how much Fif’s managed to rake in with the tour. He says that on merch alone, he’s made a killing. “His merch is in the millions. He’s an icon,” he explained. “You can ask anyone — the people that ran the tour from Live Nation — they’ll tell you, ‘Your favorite rapper can’t do what 50 just did.’”

He was later asked why he didn’t use the opportunity to sell some merch of his own. Tony Yayo says he simply didn’t feel a need to, as he was already making more than enough. “I don’t ask for too much. I’m making six figures, so why would I bother you for more? It’s cool. I’m not worried about that. Trust me, I’m making a great check […] The money is great, the money is excellent,” he said. 50 Cent Has A New Album On The Way

During a recent interview with Evropa 2, 50 Cent confirmed that he plans to drop another record once he’s wrapped up his Final Lap tour. The hitmaker’s been making his way around the world since July of this year, and is currently on the European leg of the tour. For now, he says he’s focused on making his shows the best they can be. Fif notes, however, that fans can look forward to new music from him sometime in the near future.

50 Cent told the outlet that when he’s not traveling around the world for tour, he’s in the studio cooking up new material for fans. He went on to compare his life after tour to Eminem’s, noting how the rapper doesn’t perform very often, though he still drops music. “When I’m not moving around and I’m not touring and doing things, it’s going to permit me to focus on creating music,” he explained. “You’ll get a little more of what you get from Dr. Dre and Eminem from me at that point.”

50 Cent Confirms A New Project Is Coming Soon

While Fif didn’t disclose many more details of the new project than that, it’s safe to say that fans won’t be disappointed. Most recently, he accused Diddy of being involved in the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur, adopting an oft-repeated conspiracy theory while continuing his campaign against the fellow rap mogul, whose parties he criticized a few days before.

He even admitted to seeking help for this tendency at the recent stop in Latvia for his Final Lap Tour. “I got to stop doing that sh*t,” he said. “I’ve been talking to a therapist who trying to help me with the sh*t I’m saying. It’s some crazy sh*t that comes out of my mouth for no reason.”

Well, maybe he needs to up his number of weekly sessions or change doctors because it clearly isn’t working. As he told the crowd in Latvia, he reckoned that the reason he went off on Puff’s parties was because of his belief that Diddy had Tupac killed. “Maybe I said that sh*t about Puffy because he got Tupac killed,” said 50, “I thought it was for a real reason, and then I just thought of that. I wanted to post the sh*t I seen online.”

Maybe we should consider limiting rappers’ screen time the way we do kids and teens. They seem pretty prone to falling down the wrong rabbit holes and repeating anything they see, regardless of evidence. So far on his The Final Lap Tour, 50 Cent has been full of surprises, including an Eminem cameo in Detroit, a very controversial mic toss, and a bold proclamation from J. Cole. 50 and The Final Lap Tour is in Norway this week, in Stavanger, Norway on Monday, October 2, and Oslo, Norway, on Wednesday, October 4. Diddy did not make a surprise appearance at either show, but he was still present via surprising commentary from 50 Cent.

Earlier Wednesday, Daily Loud and HipHopDX circulated video on X (formerly known as Twitter) showing 50, presumably during one of his recent shows. In it, he took time between songs to take a shot at Diddy. Sort of?

“That’s why I don’t be going to them Puffy parties,” 50 Cent said. “Uh-uh. N***a hug you from the front and the back at the same time? F*ck you talkin’ about? Look, if you into that, you into that. I’m fine with it. To each his own. I’m just sayin’ this ain’t my motherf*cking kind of party. It’s uncomfortable. I think I belong in the girls bathroom when sh*t like that is going on.”

Welp! The context of what was said before the recording began is unclear, and it would be very helpful to know what led him into this anecdote about what allegedly does or does not happen at Diddy’s famed parties.

“For the music that we do,” Jadakiss began. “To see n***as up in that kind of caliber, from our cloth of music to have that kind of production and see my n***as up there, that sh*t is incredible.” He added, “I encourage n***as to see this.” According to Jadakiss, 50 Cent’s Final Lap even rivals some of the hottest tours of the summer. He compared it to Drake’s It’s All A Blur, Taylor Swift’s Eras, and even Beyonce’s Renaissance.

50 Cent Roasts Busta Rhymes’ NSFW Performance

Whether friend or foe, 50 Cent will not hesitate to roast you. Over the years, many individuals fell victim to his online antics, including the casts of BMF and Power. However, more often than not, its cherished members of the hip-hop community end up becoming the butt-end of the joke. Busta Rhymes is no exception, even if they’re currently on a global tour together. In fact, 50 Cent took great pleasure in roasting Busta Rhymes over his suggestive performance in Minneapolis on Friday night.

For those unaware, Busta Rhymes dangled his microphone around his crotch area while performing “I Know What You Want” before beginning to serenade an audience member who caught his attention. “We f**king tonight. I see your love for me, baby,” Busta told the fan while getting even more explicit with his microphone. The entirety of the situation left many fans online traumatized but 50 Cent felt as though Busta Rhymes actually took that move from him.

50 Cent Trolls Busta Rhymes

Shortly after the video went viral, 50 Cent shared the clip to his Instagram account and he had plenty to say. The Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ rapper called out Busta Rhymes for apparently copying him. “BUSTA stole this move from me, I use to do this to magic stick 10 years ago. LOL,” he wrote. Still, he felt like Busta Rhymes was too old to be trying this during his performances. “Now it just feels dirty, inappropriate unnecessary LMAO this is giving, your old uncle at the barbecue that won’t go sit down vibes right,” he added.

At this point, Busta Rhymes should be aware of 50 Cent’s humor. After all, they’ve spent a whole summer together on the road. 50 Cent previously trolled Busta for having the “strongest neck in hip-hop,” leading to a heated back-and-forth online.
