Travis Scott’s Jam-Packed Brazil Concert Causes Earthquake

Travis Scott and lit shows go together like peanut butter and jelly. If the show isn’t shaking the literal foundations of the earth, then it’s not one of his shows. We say that because once again, Travis Scott has caused an earthquake, according to reports from HipHopDX and Complex. This past Wednesday, La Flame was putting on a concert in São Paulo, Brazil, a city that’s seen plenty of activity lately. Over the last week or so, The Weeknd performed some of his upcoming album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, and then the NFL had its first-ever game in the famous locale.

Clearly, all of that excitement and energy was carried over into Scott’s event. As you can see below (in gorgeous overhead shots), it appears to be sold out. About 46,000 people were in attendance and when you have someone like him performing rager after rager, things are going to get buck wild. To no surprise, they did, as local news stations reported shaking that was actual visible to the naked eye.

If you remember, a similar thing happened in Rome last summer right around the release of UTOPIA. He stopped at the Circus Maximus stadium and there a 1.3 magnitude earthquake occurred. With all of this excitement still around his fourth studio album, Scott sees that fans are “FE!N[ing]” for more, which is why he’s back in album mode once again. We can only imagine that more ground-shaking shows on the horizon at this point.

The Weeknd Admits He Suffered A Panic Attack Before Interview Discussing Mental Health Struggles

The Weeknd spoke candidly about his struggles with anxiety during an interview with Billboard Brazil ahead of Saturday night’s massive concert in São Paulo. In doing so, he admitted that he suffered a panic attack just before the conversation and is constantly dealing with anxiety.

“It’s funny you should mention this [mental health]. I just had a panic attack right before this interview,” he admitted to the outlet. “My anxiety is a constant battle, and I feel like it never goes away. I’m learning to control it, but I’ve already realized that it’s part of my life. I can’t escape it.”

From there, he discussed the struggle he’s felt with finding his purpose. “The biggest challenge is not knowing if you were made for this, not knowing if it was meant to be. Most people still don’t know. I feel very lucky. I was able to take these depressive and nihilistic feelings and put them into my work. That ended up being my therapy,” he said. Billboard noted that he was raised in an Ethiopian Orthodox Christian household before he mentioned his connection to God. “I think about giving up every day. But I also find purpose every day,” he said. “My relationship with God is stronger than ever. I find comfort in His presence when I need it most. I talk to Him constantly. It’s been a long journey, but I’m here.”

The Weeknd brought Playboi Carti on stage during his massive concert in São Paulo, Brazil on Saturday night to debut a new collaboration. The appearance comes after Carti shared a screenshot of himself on FaceTime with the iconic singer, last month. The two previously worked together on the song “Popular” with Madonna as well.

Carti kicked off his time on stage with a performance of his Travis Scott collaboration, “FE!N.” Rocking a throwback Vince Carter jersey, he then transitioned into the previously unheard new song. Both The Weeknd and Carti are preparing for new albums that are expected to release before the end of the year. Further details on the upcoming track are unclear.

A fan of Playboi Carti allegedly broke into his hotel room in Brazil and filmed the inside. The video of what appears to be the rapper’s hotel room and screenshots of the person who seemingly broke in admitting to doing so are circulating online. “As I’m Brazilian, I’m going to try to get into the hotel pretending to be a guest. LOL,” the person wrote in one DM.

As the post went viral on social media, users criticized the fan’s antics. One person on X (formerly Twitter) wrote: “Wow, telling people that a large artist has no security at his hotel is definitely a good idea!” Another added: “Sum n****s actually have mental problems like why tf would you think of doin sum sh*t like this.” Others joked about the incident causing further delays to his upcoming album.

Cardi B realized that many of her fan pages were run by users in Brazil after the country banned access to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday morning. “Wait a lot of my fan pages are Brazilian!!! Come back hold up!!” she remarked in the post. In response, fans shared plenty of jokes while mourning the loss of her fan pages.

“They really ran this app y’all! It won’t be the same!” one user wrote back. Another suggested: “Just ask them to access twitter using browser/web and use VPN. I believe the ban only covers the app.” Others joked about her long-awaited sophomore album. “You should announce the album for them before they leave,” one user remarked.

Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes made the decision to ban X as the company refused to name a legal representative in Brazil after a lengthy feud over misinformation on the platform. “Elon Musk showed his total disrespect for Brazilian sovereignty and, in particular, for the judiciary, setting himself up as a true supranational entity and immune to the laws of each country,” de Moraes wrote in his decision on Friday.

Cardi B Reacts To Brazil’s X Ban

X responded to the move in a statement on the site. “Soon, we expect Judge Alexandre de Moraes will order X to be shut down in Brazil – simply because we would not comply with his illegal orders to censor his political opponents,” the post said. “The fundamental issue at stake here is that Judge de Moraes demands we break Brazil’s own laws. Passenger Plane In Brazil Falls Out Of The Sky In Horrific Video

Sometimes you have to see things to believe them, and unfortunately the video you are about to watch is real. However, if you are sensitive to danger, you may want to avoid it. A dreadful clip of passenger plane in Brazil plummeting into a fiery explosion is going viral online and according to multiple reports the results are devastating. ABC News is one of the first to confirm that all 62 (58 passengers, four crew members) people onboard lost their lives Friday, August 9. At the time of writing, no one is sure what led to the Voepass aircraft crashing. However, the details on the plane are that it was a 14-year-old, two-engine, ATR 72 model.

In terms of when the unexplained accident occurred, local authorities are saying around 1:28 p.m. local time. The Voepass airline said the plane was traveling from Cascavel, Brazil, and heading over to the Guarulhos Airport, which is close to Sao Paulo. As you can see from the bystander’s video, the plane was traveling down at breakneck speed and spinning out of control. People in the comments section are citing that an engine could have stalled and that there was not enough altitude left for the pilots to try and land it more safely.

62 People In Total Were On This Plane In Brazil

Other videos and photos on social media and in other news articles show the where the plane nosedived and became engulfed in flames. Federal police are citing it was near a residential building in Vinhedo, a city outside of Sao Paulo. One of its residents was hurt, but no other deaths are reported. Kanye West has reportedly been formally banned from performing in Brazil. Sources who spoke with the US Sun said that West had been “firmly denied” a request to perform in Rio. West had expressed a desire to recreate the Rolling Stones’ infamous free concert in 2006, which saw 1.5 million people attend the Copacabana Beach concert. The reason for West’s ban is his string of controversial behavior, both his anti-Semitic rants and his behavior in Italy with Bianca Censori.

However, West doesn’t need to leave the US to put on controversial concerts. A number of fans have complained about West’s Rolling Loud concert. West and Ty Dolla $ign simply walked around a specially constructed stage as pre-released music played. A number of people have argued that this was a misrepresentation of the advertised concert. Furthermore, Rolling Loud has refused to confirm or deny reports that West and Ty were paid $10 million for the concert, which was abruptly added to the concert lineup last month.

This comes after West’s bold claim that he was solely responsible for the last 20 years of music. “I invented every style of music of the past 20 years. I created the genre. Weeknd’s genre.
