Nas’ ‘King’s Disease 2’ Tracklist Includes Features From Eminem And Lauryn Hill

Last year, Hit-Boy helped Nas overcome his recent album slump, executive producing the Queens legend’s latest full-length, King’s Disease. The results spoke for themselves; not only was the album credited with breaking rap fans’ prevailing “Nas has a tin ear for beats” narrative, but it was also one of the most critically acclaimed rap projects of the year.

It looks like the two principals were pretty impressed with each other, as they recently announced a follow-up titled King’s Disease II to be released on the same projected date as Kanye West’s Donda. Either that, or it’ll be a Lost Tapes-type release collecting some of the cutting room clippings from the original sessions and stitching them together — which has worked for Nas before on Lost Tapes. Today, they shared the tracklist, revealing collaborations with A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Blxst, Eminem, EPMD, Lauryn Hill, and YG.

King’s Disease II will thus mark the second collaboration between Nas and Em and Nas and Lauryn. While Eminem produced Nas’s 2002 God’s Son song “The Cross,” Nas and Ms. Hill collaborated on Nas’ biggest hit to date, 1996’s “If I Ruled The World” from It Was Written. Blxst’s ‘Guide To LA’ In Apple Maps Gives Fans A Tour Of His Hometown

Blxst is getting pretty well-known in his hometown of Los Angeles and now, he’s giving fans an opportunity to get to know his city as well as his city knows him. Partnering with Apple Maps, Blxst presents his own “Guide To Los Angeles” in the app, sharing his favorite places through photos shot by Travis Shinn and landmarks in the app pointing the way to a one-of-a-kind experience in the city.

Among the locations highlighted by the Guide are Crenshaw-based Earle’s Restaurant, a local landmark that has operated for over three decades, Simply Wholesome in Windsor Hills, Fairfax’s CoolkicksLA, where the city’s coolest kids go-to cop the latest streetwear and sneakers, and the Fox Hills Mall in Culver City — which will always be Fox Hills to locals, even though it’s officially named Westfield Culver City now.

In a press release, Blxst said, “Excited to give my fans a closer look at my favorite spots in LA with this new Guide in Apple Maps. These businesses, restaurants, and shops are a great way to see and enjoy the city from my perspective.” You can check out the Guide here.

For the perfect soundtrack to cruising the city on Blxst’s guided tour, you can check out his debut EP, No Love Lost, and his new joint project with fellow Angeleno Bino Rideaux, Sixtape 2. Catch him on his No Love Lost tour this summer.

Bino Rideaux And Blxst ‘Pop Out’ To Race Lamborghinis In The LA Streets In Their New Video

Bino Rideaux and Blxst keep the good vibes from their joint project Sixtape 2 going with the video for “Pop Out.” Filled with sunny LA days and a Westside parking lot party, the video perfectly captures the spirit of the easygoing West Coast sound of the duo’s new project. The two race Lamborghinis through the streets of Downtown LA as they enjoy the fruits of their stardom.

The “Pop Out” video follows “Movie” and “One Of Them Ones” in bringing the party vibe of Sixtape 2 to life. The two LA rappers are living up their newfound success and making it look like they’re having the time of their lives.

Of course, with Blxst recently featuring on XXL’s 2021 Freshman list there is plenty of attention to go around. Blxst is still relatively fresh off the success of his debut EP No Love Lost and its deluxe version, but Bino has also been garnering his fair share of attention with his own 2020 project, Outside, which featured Snoop Dogg, Ty Dolla Sign, Young Thug (on the “Mismatch” remix), and of course, Blxst. Bino and Blxst both showed up on UPROXX Sessions to perform “Mismatch” and “Pressure,” respectively.

Blxst And Bino Rideaux Are Just A Pair Of Money-Making Gentlemen In Their ‘One Of Them Ones’ Video

Two years ago, Blxst and Bino Rideaux shared their debut joint project, Sixtape. The 2019 6-track EP helped bring the West Coast rappers to a new level in their careers and it’s one they would surpass the following year with their respective solo efforts. Blxst brought himself to XXL Freshman status thanks to his No Love Lost project while Bino Rideaux solidified his artistry with his own project, Outside. Now, the duo is back together and reunion brings the release Sixtape 2 and a new video for “One Of The Ones.”

The visual is introduced with a motivating narration from DJ Drama, who provides a boost in energy to the effort just like he did during his appearances on Tyler The Creator’s album, Call Me If You Get Lost. Blxst and Bino gamble the night away, enjoying their riches and celebrating the success they’ve attained in their respective careers.

Sixtape 2 is an entirely solo effort with the two rappers handling all of the vocal responsibilities. The project arrives with 12 tracks, double the amount that the duo delivered on Sixtape. The video also arrives after Blxst delivered his XXL Freshman Freestyle alongside Toosii.

Blxst And Toosii Keep The 2021 ‘XXL’ Freshman Cypher Rolling

After yesterday’s leadoff, West Coaster rap-crooner Blxst and North Carolina’s Toosii accept the baton for the next leg of the 2021 XXL Freshman Cypher. Once again, their bumping backdrop is provided by Internet Money’s Nick Mira, giving the two rappers an exotic-sounding beat to flex over. Blxst’s verse is a boastful affair in which he offers “two places I won’t go back, of course, / That’s ‘broke’ and that’s ‘forth,’” while Toosii offers an extended verse from his previously teased “Ms. Parker” snippet.

All in all, their part of the Cypher is calm, straightforward, and surprisingly short, with Blxst obviously bringing a bit more effort than Toosii. It marks an intriguing departure from the proceedings yesterday, where Coi Leray’s antics captured the attention of fans on Twitter — and not in a good way. While her cohorts DDG, Lakeyah, and Morray acquitted themselves well — Lakeyah especially impressed a number of fans with her technical proficiency and witty wordplay — Coi Leray delivered an odd, unserious verse/hook/ad-lib combo, giving up after only a handful of bars to twerk instead. Responses weren’t kind, as many questioned her inclusion in this year’s Freshman class, as well as her rap skills in general.
