Dame D.O.L.L.A Adds Five New Tracks With “Don D.O.L.L.A Life Lately Edition”

Damian Lillard is known for killing it on the hardwood. He is one of the most prolific scorers in the NBA. But, if you did not know, he has consistently been scorching hot on the mic since 2015. The Milwaukee Bucks point guard came out with his first full project The Letter O in 2016 and one of the standout moments from that record was “Loyal to the Soil” with Lil Wayne.

Since, then Dame D.O.L.L.A, which is his rap alter ego, has continued to drop quite a bit of material. In fact, four more tapes have been released since that point. Dame definitely enjoys stepping into the booth and finding that creative release whenever possible. He was able to do that once again this year with Don D.O.L.L.A.

Damian Lillard Creates Impromptu Music Video With His Blazers Teammates

Damian Lillard is one of the best players in the world right now. Overall, he is the main person who has been able to carry the Portland Trail Blazers. Even when they are losing, Dame is still able to keep them entertaining. For the most part, his teammates love him. Although he is constantly badgered about leaving Portland, he has decided to remain loyal through it all. He is dedicated to bringing a championship to Portland, and it is hard to imagine a scenario in which he ever leaves.

Recently, Lillard and his teammates got into a pretty bad situation in regard to a team flight. Everyone was stuck on the flight for seven hours on the tarmac, however, they were never able to actually leave. The flight was subsequently canceled, and they now have to try it all again tomorrow. Overall, it was a bad situation to be in, however, Lillard and his teammates made the most of it. As you can see in the clip down below, the entire team made an impromptu music video as Lillard showed off his signature rapping ability.

Damian Lillard Raps

For those of you who may be in the dark, Lillard raps under the name Dame D.O.L.L.A. He has released various projects under this pseudonym, and fans are always excited about new songs. From the video up above, it is clear that Lillard wanted to showcase his ability to come up with lyrics in a short amount of time. While reading off his phone, Dame came through with some clever bars, and you can tell the whole team was feeling it. “Had to get on Cam (camera) cuz my beanie is reddish/ and she know like her BADJI @ibou_dianko_badji_ (body) that’s a fetish/ when she bend and arci that’s my favorite present/ when she want her boots Knox’d I’m in heaven,” he rapped.

Hopefully, today, the Blazers’ flight is able to get off the ground. Being stuck on a plane that can’t get in the air is an all-time bad situation. Thankfully for Dame, he has teammates around him who can make any situation an entertaining one. Let us know what you think of Dame’s bars, down below. Damian Lillard Went Full Dame D.O.L.L.A. While The Trail Blazers Were Stuck On A Plane For Seven Hours

Damian Lillard won the Three-Point Contest at the 2023 NBA All-Star Weekend last Saturday, February 18, and the Portland Trail Blazers’ leading man drained a shot from beyond half-court with ease in the following day’s All-Star Game. But that only scratches the surface of Dame’s range.

According to TMZ, The Blazers were scheduled to fly from Portland to Sacramento, California for their matchup with the Kings tonight, February 23, “but a severe snowstorm delayed their chartered flight for seven hours” last night, February 22.

While stranded, Lillard transformed into Dame D.O.L.L.A., his musical alter ego, to spit a freestyle over the beat to GloRilla’s “Tomorrow 2” remix featuring Cardi B (as noted by TMZ).

Lillard posted the video to his Instagram with the caption, “When you stuck on the plane for 7 hours and the flight get canceled [shrug emoji] … guess we try again TOMORROW [cry-laughing emojis]”:

“How the f*ck we stuck up in the snow? Guess we fly this b*tch tomorrow,” Dame rapped while reading from his phone. Later in the freestyle, he referenced his “Dame Time” nickname — “I’ma tap my wrist, it’s Dame Time / I give them fits” — and cleverly demanded, “Captain, let me in the pit!”

Lillard has been delivering cold bars for years, and he’s a respected rapper by his NBA peers and rap legends alike.

His debut project, The Letter “O,” arrived in 2016, and it housed collaborations with Lil Wayne and Jamie Foxx. Confirmed (2017), Big D.O.L.L.A. (2019), Live From The Bubble (2020) and Different On Levels The Lord Allowed (2021) followed suit. Wayne, Blxst, Mozzy, Q-Tip, and Raphael Saadiq were among the featured artists on Different On Levels The Lord Allowed.

Dame’s most recent offering also included “Kobe” featuring Derrick Milano and Snoop Dogg, a tribute to the late Kobe Bryant that appeared on the NBA 2K21 soundtrack.

Tobe Nwigwe, Fat Nwigwe, and Dame D.O.L.L.A. Lead A Dance In A Garden In Their New Video For ‘Mini Me’

In his latest video, “Mini Me,” Houston rapper Tobe Nwigwe leads a group in dance in a garden, joined by his wife, Fat. While the two have a son in real life, Tobe addresses his “sons” in the rap game.

“Fat just had my son indeed, but a small catch / Is that I’ve had sons, just not out my ballsack / Fall back, I be appalled that / All that I’ve done for my sons don’t get wall plaques / Look, I should walk up in the room and see up on the wall / Greatest father figure of ’em all,” he raps.

Fat raps and adlibs on the chorus, saying, “I’m sick of you bein’ nice to all these boys, they’re our babies.”

The married couple is later joined by Dame D.O.L.L.A., who aims to maintain peace within himself and among others.

“Tell ’em roll out the red carpet, we special people / And we don’t see nobody as lesser equals / Boy, times change, keep the energy / We pray on enemy and never let him take our inner peace,” he raps.

In addition to putting out skillful rhymes, Tobe also stars on the Houston-set Netflix series Mo, on which, he plays the titular character’s childhood best friend.

Dame D.O.L.L.A. And Blxst Reflect On Their Humble Beginnings In The Nostalgic ‘We The Ones’ Video

Y’know, even with the infamously exercise-obsessed LeBron James starring in Space Jam 2 this summer, Damian Lillard must be the hardest working man in basketball right now. Not only did he put in his time in Tokyo helping lead Team USA to yet another Olympic gold medal, but he was also apparently working on his fourth album, Different On Levels The Lord Allowed, at the same time. Now, the album’s out, and with it, Dame D.O.L.L.A.’s new video for “We The Ones” featuring Blxst and singer Tree Thomas.

The video’s setup is pretty standard and fits the song’s theme of authenticity and the benefits of hustling, cutting back and forth between scenes contrasting Dame’s humble beginnings in Oakland, California, and his current conditions, which involve private chefs, elegant dinners, and pool parties where the pool doesn’t need to be inflated. He’s offered lyrical assists by Blxst and Tree, who offer their own takes on the rags-to-riches story being relayed (on a side note, why do so many rappers focus on breakfast when they do these scenes? Toosii did it a few months ago too and it just feels like breakfast is probably the worst meal to illustrate a major financial come-up because what exactly is an “extravagant” breakfast, really?).
