Beyoncé Unveils Balmain x “RENAISSANCE” Couture

Beyoncé just unveiled some stunning outfits and designs modeled as part of her Balmain x RENAISSANCE couture. Not only that, but the pieces themselves are lavish, eye-catching, sometimes obtuse, and just as full of vision and personality as you’d expect. After all, the star singer had one of the most successful, acclaimed, and opulent albums of last year, so it’s only right that her fashion forays follow suit. Moreover, there are creative incorporations of objects like (or semblances of) chandeliers, vinyl records, and lamps. Also, she shared a picture of herself alongside designer Olivier Rousteing and a message for her collaborators.

“Thank you @olivier_rousteing and @balmain for bringing RENAISSANCE to life in couture,” the 41-year-old wrote. “Designing alongside you was freeing—thank you for allowing me to celebrate the human form, to take artistic risks, to push boundaries and to freely express myself. To the @voguefrance team, thank you for trusting in our vision and sharing it with the world.” Of course, the stunning designs appeared as part of a cover story on Vogue France. With these designs, she continues to establish herself as a visionary and as an impactful creator in many different fields. However, she can’t do it alone, and much of its greatness is owed to Rousteing.

Beyoncé Shows Off Balmain x RENAISSANCE Couture

“Dear @beyonce creating this couture collection with you was more than a dream,” Olivier, who is the creative director for Balmain since 2011, penned on IG. “You inspired me everyday since the beginning of my career. “You know, I was just a kid from Bordeaux dreaming about Fashion, dreaming of finding my place in this industry that has been really tough,” he continued in a separate post. “But today I celebrate 2 incredible chapters. One is this incredible Renaissance couture designed with you @beyonce, inspiring me everyday and sketching alongside with you is UNIQUE and that’s definitely what you are. Two is the honor to be on VOGUE COVER. Beyonce And Adidas Part Ways

Screen Shot 2023 03 24 at 1.08.38 AM

Four years ago Beyoncé partnered with Adidas for the relaunch of her athletic/leisure line Ivy Park for an icon celebrity drop that had the girls (and guys) in a frenzy.

Now, the partnership has come to a bitter end.
The Hollywood Reporter reports:

Beyoncé and Adidas are breaking up.

A source close to the situation tells The Hollywood Reporter that the Grammy-winning entrepreneur and the German lifestyle brand have mutually agreed to part ways.

In 2018, Beyoncé entered a creative partnership with Adidas, where she relaunched her Ivy Park activewear line and also developed new footwear and apparel for the brand.

But there has apparently been major creative differences between Ivy Park and Adidas, and Beyoncé is excitedly looking to reclaim her brand, chart her own path and maintain creative freedom.’
Will the Queen Bey do it again?

Beyoncé & Adidas Reportedly End Ivy Park Partnership

Adidas suffers another heavy hit as they conclude their deal with Beyoncé and Ivy Park. The world watched as Kanye West unraveled online with Nazi propaganda, resulting in a dramatic end to his Yeezy partnership with the brand. As the company navigates how it will move products, The Hollywood Reporter offered a new update about their connection with Bey. According to the outlet, they’ve spoken with “a source close to the situation,” who revealed that the singer and Adidas have “mutually agreed to part ways.”

It was further alleged that Beyoncé was struggling to maintain the relationship with Adidas behind the scenes. “There has apparently been major creative differences between Ivy Park and Adidas,” reported THR. “And Beyoncé is excitedly looking to reclaim her brand, chart her own path and maintain creative freedom.” Also, murmurs about discontent have been ongoing in recent months regarding Ivy Park’s sales. Beyoncé and Adidas partnered in 2018, two years after Ivy Park’s arrival. The brand was further hyped with its elaborate unveilings by celebrities gifted with special apparel deliveries.

Beyoncé & Adidas Made Magic

When Bey & Co. ended their deal with Topshop in 2018, she retained full ownership. The most recent line of Adidas x Ivy Park apparel, Park Trail, came in January. It was bolstered by the music icon’s epic—and controversial—performance in Dubai. It was Beyoncé’s first live show in five years, and Ivy Park was expected to fly off the shelves, as usual. However, in early February, the Wall Street Journal reported Ivy Park “missed internal sales projection by over $200 million” in 2022. Further, Bey still made $20 million a year from her Ivy Park contract.

Additionally, WSJ broke down the numbers: in 2022, sales were “roughly” $40 million. It sounds like a good year, but it’s much less than the $93 million earned in 2021. Adidas projected $250 million in sales for 2022, and for 2023, they believed they would make $335 million. That projection has been changed to $63 million. It’s suggested that this is why Ivy Park x Adidas has come to an end. It’s unclear what the immediate future holds, but if there’s another final drop on the horizon, fans are sure to eat it up. Will you miss Ivy Park x Adidas?

Beyoncé And Adidas Have Mutually Agreed To End Their Ivy Park Partnership

Beyoncé and Adidas have mutually agreed to end their partnership, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Beyoncé will retain ownership of her Ivy Park brand.

It was first reported in February that the partnership was troubled; according to internal earnings documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal, the Ivy Park brand had underperformed under Adidas to the tune of a $200 million loss. When the partnership was first signed in 2019 after Ivy Park moved from TopShop, it was expected that Beyoncé’s name would bring in the sales — however, while Adidas expected $250 million in sales, it only brought in around $40 million.

The Journal‘s also reported creative differences between Adidas and Parkwood, the title under which Beyoncé operates her disparate business ventures, as fans expressed their disappointment in the Ivy Park offerings over the past year. According to THR, “Beyoncé is excitedly looking to reclaim her brand, chart her own path, and maintain creative freedom” of the brand going forward.

The end of the Ivy Park partnership is the latest in a string of rough patches for Adidas over the past year, as well. In October of 2022, Adidas also ended its partnership with Kanye West after the rapper made a series of antisemitic remarks in several interviews. The company’s CEO told the company early this year that Adidas is projected to lose nearly $1.3 billion in sales of Yeezy merchandise, although it also reached an agreement with him to sell remaining inventory without the Yeezy branding.

Beyoncé Tour Ticket Prices Reportedly Prompt U.S. Fans To Travel To Europe

Few artists can say that their demand is so huge in the States that they can make their fans travel overseas just to spend a few hundred dollars less to witness their presence. According to many fans online, people are buying tickets for Beyoncé’s shows in Europe due to staggeringly high ticket prices in the U.S. Moreover, the star singer’s European leg begins in Stockholm, Sweden on May 10, according to her official tour website. However, many of these shows already sold out on the platform, so maybe fans got cheaper resale tickets.

Of course, Beyoncé’s highly acclaimed 2022 album RENAISSANCE, plus her sheer dominance and legacy as an artist, drove millions to buy tickets. What it resulted in is a frenzy of delayed purchase times, crashing websites, insane demand, and insane prices. It’s not entirely uncommon for the biggest artists in the world to face these issues, whether thanks to poor planning or just the fact that they’re so huge that everyone and their grandpa want to go. For example, Taylor Swift faced similar issues, as did Drake whose tour tickets rivaled even the “CUFF IT” star’s.

Beyoncé Fans Face High Ticket Prices In The U.S., Travel To Europe For Shows

However, many on social media ultimately saw this as a great opportunity to go visit other countries. After outlets started to report on the phenomenon, many chimed in with their takes. “It’s still cheaper than the US!!” one user claimed. “We were able to make a cute lil vacation in Toronto!! I’m excited that this is pushing black and brown folks to travel abroad for new and different experiences!!” Another expressed, “If I wouldn’t have gotten my ticket here… oooo oui! I would’ve been on my way to Paris.”

It might be an unorthodox move, but it’s something to consider if you want to see a large artist on a world tour and can spend a lot of money, but not a lot of money. Meanwhile, the 41-year-old is enjoying a victory lap of sorts after becoming the most awarded Grammys artist ever. Now, she’s looking forward to her massive tour- and many fans are looking forward to their overseas vacations. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Beyoncé.

‘Swarm’ Co-Creator Janine Nabers Says She Wrote Beyoncé A Letter While The Show Was In Production

Prime Video’s new thriller series, Swarm, which is inspired by Beyoncé‘s fanbase, the Beyhive, has garnered much buzz. Since the show’s premiere last Friday (March 17), fans have taken to Twitter to express their fandom toward the series, as well as share some theories around the show’s terrifying plot lines.

At the same time, fans are wondering if the Queen Bey herself has seen the series. In an interview with Vulture, Janine Nabers, who co-created the series with Donald Glover, confirmed that she made Beyoncé aware of Swarm and its premise while the show was in production.

“She knows about the show,” said Nabers.

She continued, saying that she believes she has seen the show, as a lot of people who are close to her work behind the scenes of the show. “I wrote her a letter basically being like, ‘Yo, you’re great. I love you. This is a show that we’re working on. These are the people that are writing on it.’ She’s worked with a lot of the people who have worked on our show. It’s a family.”

In the past, Beyoncé has worked with Glover, with whom she co-starred in the 2019 live-action version of Disney’s The Lion King. She has also mentored Chloe Bailey, who plays Marissa Jackson on the show.

Though Nabers has reached out to Beyoncé about Swarm, she also revealed that she has never met her in person.

Jason Lee Recounts Meeting Beyoncé at Roc Nation Brunch: Watch

While he doesn’t sing, dance, or act himself, Jason Lee has interviewed no shortage of talented celebrities over the years. He recently began his own REVOLT podcast. So far, he’s spoken with guests like Blueface and Chrisean Rock as well as Blac Chyna. He obviously stays booked and busy with his own commitments, but that doesn’t mean the Hollywood Unlocked CEO doesn’t have time to make guest appearances on other shows.

Most recently, the 43-year-old stopped by The Breakfast Club to chat with DJ Envy and Charlamagne. During their discussion, Lee brought up the time he met Beyoncé at Roc Nation Brunch – a moment that was previously caught on camera and has resulted in long-standing rumours that the mother of three was attempting to avoid the gossip blogger at her husband’s annual event. “I’m a huge Beyoncé fan,” he told the hosts. “I’m a fanatic.”

Did Beyoncé Avoid Meeting Jason Lee?

As the story goes, Lee was with his friend Umar, who owns fast-fashion brand Pretty Little Thing, at the party, though he wanted to leave around 4 PM. “I was walking out with him, and when I got to the exit to get in the car, I saw Julius, Beyoncé’s security,” he recalled. Thanks to basic deduction, the media personality realized that the RENAISSANCE hitmaker had to be in the area, and he decided to head back inside in hopes of catching her. Apparently, Lee saw Bey looking his way, whispering the name of his media brand to her team.

“I knew she knew who I was, so I ran around like a kid to the other side to try to catch her and get a photo with her,” Lee went on to explain. At the time, he asked his pal, Indian Teddy Bear, to film the interaction, which explains the awkward footage that subsequently went viral. However, according to the CEO, the clip actually went through edits by another artist’s fanbase to make it appear as though Beyoncé was avoiding him. While he insists that wasn’t the case, others online aren’t so confident. “Nahhh she was dodging son, this harassment 😂😂😂😂😂,” one person wrote in @2cool2bl0g’s comment section. See Jason Lee’s interaction with the vocalist at Roc Nation Brunch above, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.
