It was a Houston show that got a LOT of attention for Megan Thee Stallion turning up to perform alongside Queen Bey. The pair of Houston natives lit up the stage in their hometown over the weekend.
While in her hometown, Bey also took a trip back to where it all started at her childhood home. In a post she made about it she also teased fans with some potential new Renaissance merch that’s coming soon. She also flew a disabled fan out to the show after they faced travel difficulties trying to see her on a previous tour stop. A TikTok the fan made about their experience went viral and resulted in a glowing response of generosity from Bey and her team.

Moneybagg Yo recently got in trouble with some of his fans after canceling a show. While it’s the kind of thing that often happens for artists, he has been hyping up one particular Memphis show. He teased fans with a major special guest appearance but the show ended up having to be canceled entirely. He never officially confirmed who the big guest was supposed to be.
Over the weekend Moneybagg Yo teamed up with one of the biggest up and coming rappers of 2023 on a new song. The Renaissance World Tour has been a revolving door of guest appearances. During Beyoncé’s birthday concert in Inglewood, California, she dialed things up a notch by inviting music legend Diana Ross and rapper Kendrick Lamar to share the stage with her. That wasn’t the end of her surprise performances. On Saturday, September 23, as the tour planted its roots in her hometown of Houston, Texas, Beyoncé brought another native for a highly anticipated set.
At the NRG Stadium, Beyoncé & Megan Thee Stallion treated the sold-out crowd to a spicy performance of their top-charting and Grammy Award-winning song, “Savage (Remix).” As Megan made her way to the front of the stage, she took the time to remind the audience of her H-town roots. Then she embraced the cocky energy of the track, bragging, “I’m that b*tch. Still that b*tch.”

Megan Thee Stallion made a big entrance to a surprised crowd during Beyoncé’s performance. The two Houston divas performed a live rendition of their popular collaboration, Savage (Remix).
Megan slightly twerked as she rapped her verse along with the crown as Bey watched proudly from the top of the stage. Beyoncé shared with the stadium how proud she was of Megan. “I love you, Queen,” Bey shouted to which Megan shrieked, “I love you, Beyoncé.”

It’s only been a little over a year since it dropped, and yet with her world tour, the project and its highlights seem more relevant than ever. As such, it’s interesting to hear about the origins of these songs, especially considering the wealth of legendary collaborators on board. For example, Raphael Saadiq of recently back-together group Tony! Toni! Toné! said that he wrote “CUFF IT” for the group, but then passed it on when he realized how big it could be. While speaking to Vulture in an interview published Friday (September 22), the songwriter shared that Queen Bey rarely passes up on something she loves.
“I haven’t been to the RENAISSANCE tour, but I have seen the [viral dance] challenges online,” Raphael Saadiq expressed. “That record was going to be a Tonyies record, the part that just sounds like [mimicking the song’s guitar riff]. But I gave it to a friend of mine and said, ‘I got this record. I was going to do it, but what about Beyonce?’

“She’s one of those people where if she’s feeling it, she’s going 100 percent in,” Raphael Saadiq continued. “I said, ‘It’s going to move people. It’s going to work, I’m telling you.’ I think she just put it away. From what I heard, The-Dream eventually found it. And he was like, ‘What is that?!’ I already knew it was one of them joints. I always said, if you drop the right music on an artist, it could go. But I’m glad she has so many eyeballs on her, you know what I mean? You can’t really trick people; it’s got to be good.”
Meanwhile, the RENAISSANCE tour is still ongoing, and will likely keep up its bombast and spectacle. Raphael Saadiq is gearing up for a reunion of his ’80s band, Tony! Toni! Toné!. The group is gearing up for a tour and are working on a new album.
Saadiq spoke with Vulture and revealed that the album would likely come out after their tour. He also revealed that a song that was originally planned for Tony! Toni! Toné!’s album ended up going to Beyoncé.
The song? “Cuff It” from Bey’s seventh album, Renaissance.
